I recently had a surprise transmission failure on my 05 GMC Yukon XL immediately after having a…read morepair of new tires installed elsewhere. When they were going to take it for a test drive, the transmission went right in the lot. I was to say the least, very worried about getting my truck fixed and the cost. I immediately called Trannyman and spoke with Mike. He said to bring the truck right down and they will take a look at it. Luckily, I was so able to drive it in forward, I lost the reverse and the drive was starting to hum as well. I got the truck to them just before closing on Monday 12/28. Mike and Lee were very nice and reassuring that it will get fixed and not to worry. They started on the repair Tuesday and I was able to get the truck back on Wednesday at 3. Talk about being fast, I never expected to have my truck back this fast. When I fit there, they showed me all the pasta that are replaced and explained everything to me that was done. I took it for a test ride, and it was like a brand new truck, running quiet and shifting very smoothly. Thank you Mike and Lee for making a major job seem simple and quick. You guys got the job done fast and for a price that was well worth it. Now I hope that I never have to see you again for another repair, just for fluid changes. ...haha! Your work is fabulous!

NEVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! This guy is a total scam…read moreartist!!!!!! I was referred to this shop by a family friend and it has been a total NIGHTMARE!! Even my aunt, the one who referred me, refuses to go here anymore because of the way the owner treats the customers. IVE HAD TO BRING MY CAR BACK TO HIM FIVE TIMES BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION IS STILL NOT FIXED PROPERLY!!!!! And the shop owner John is a total jerk and acts like he's doing me a favor by fixing my car. This has been going on for MONTHS now. AFTER HE REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION IT STARTED LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID ALL OVER MY DRIVEWAY SO I BROUGHT IT BACK TO HIM AND HE CHARGED ME $400 EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNDER A "WARRANTY". I brought my car to Delta on Jericho Turnpike in Smithtown to have the transmission rebuilt in Fall 2014 (today is August 20,2015 and still not fixed) So I pick up my car ten days after dropping it off (this is a CRAZY long time to rebuild a tranny but whatever) and as I'm driving away the car violently jerks into each gear and my check engine light goes on. I bring it back to him and he said it just needed a little adjustment (I left my car with him for another two days). When I came back to pick it up again he said they were closing and he would leave my keys in the car. I pick it up again, and as I'm driving away it does the SAME THING. I call him again the next day and this is when he starts giving me an attitude. He was complaining that they were really busy and he doesn't have time to fix my car for another two weeks. So I drop my car off in two weeks (I'm without a car for another two days) and when I pick it up it seemed fine. No check engine light and tranny seemed smooth. After driving for ten minutes the car starts jerking into each gear and check engine light goes on again. GRRRRR. So I call John at Delta Transmissions on Jericho and ask what is going on. He says he doesn't know what happened and he will need the car back. BUT he's really busy and it may take a few days. NOW while I'm waiting for this shop to have time to fix their mistake, I notice transmission oil all over my driveway!!!!! I call him and he said he'll take care of it next time I bring my car in and he said to keep putting oil in it so it doesn't run dry. I BRING MY CAR BACK TO HIM AND HE TELLS ME THE PART THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND IT WILL COST $400!!! At this point I was just done with this guy and his garbage work so I paid and went on my way. AS IM DRIVING AWAY GUESS WHAT HAPPENS!?!? YEP, THE CAR VIOLENTLY JERKS INTO GEAR AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON. . . AGAIN. I've asked around about this shop and EVERYONE tells me stay away. Wish I knew sooner ZERO STARS FOR DELTA TRANSMISSIONS ON JERICHO TPK.

This morning, I went to the shop and found they forgot to order the pipe, game over. That was lucky for me, as I said forget it and started looking for someone who knows exhaust work specifically. Called Bobby at 11A.M., he got me in and job was done in about 70 minutes. Bobby showed me the lousy job done before on this exhaust, and he quickly crafted a solution, including the hanging-low components. Vehicle runs near-silent now, and Bobby's assistant ran a scan on my codes at no charge (usually 100-plus anywhere.) Received sound advice on correcting the codes, which may involve a simple vac hose replacement. Great shop, honest, friendly and zero-nonsense. Engine or exhaust issues, Bobby and his crew know what to do.

I am a car guy and absolutely love vehicles and my own cars so I'm always a bit worried to bring them to places to get work done but Bobbys reviews speak for themselves. His fantastic reputation is absolutely true and my needs were met and exceeded greatly. I called up this morning to make an appointment and immediately got a respectful answer and a time to come in from Bobby himself. When I arrived I was greeted by Bobby and his assistant who were both friendly, respectful and enjoyable to talk to. My car was immediately brought into the bay exactly at the appointment time and I got to meet one of Bobbys employees in the back as well. He instantly got to work on my car and the job was done in a timely fashion but to an extremely high quality. The waiting area has many cool car related models and race inspired products showing that Bobby sees cars in a way that true car guys do. When the job was done he had me come back to personally check the underside of the car to see the work was done correctly and had me start up the car with him to make sure everything was done correctly. Clearly a respectful and honest man of his word who hires only the hardest working, most respectful staff. My car is not worth a million bucks but it was treated with the same level of care as a brand new, worthless vehicle. It looked, smelled and drove exactly as it did when I brought it in but it just sounded a whole lot better. I will absolutely use Bobbys again with my next exhaust needs and I highly recommend them. Good price, fantastic staff and a job well done.
