Brian is the man!! He always comes through in the early stages and in the clutch! Was happy he was able to provide me two pans of chicken after the person catering my party bailed, and he was happy to do so! Every Wednesday, I switch up my shrimp order for the $.50 shrimp. Sometimes get it sautéed with broccoli and rice, sautéed with greens, yams and Mac or 10 fried with fries! Oh and on Thursday the fish sandwich special is also bomb!! Delicious and reasonably priced! Get you some!

You should definitely check it out. Their soul food is great and their happy hour special isn't bad either. It's on a very cool block in Camden next to an African American book store. I will definitely be back. They have $.50 shrimp that you can have your way (fried, sautéed,barbecued) and you can also get $.50 chicken cheese balls (white meat chicken and cheese fried up like a hush puppy). It's nice to see a cool bar in the area.

The ambiance was really nice, when you walk in, you can clearly see that this is indeed a lounge and bar. The restaurant was quite empty, which is very fair considering that it probably gets busier during the night given that it's a lounge and bar too. I found the service to be amazing, for some context I'm normally a struggler with chopsticks, but I like to use them anyways and one of the servers came up to me and taught me how to properly use chopsticks which is something I've never seen before. That's why I found the service to be amazing and eventually I was offered a fork which was also quite nice. The food was also pretty good, I got the House Special Pho and unfortunately I do not have an image of the soup but I've had Pho at various places and they don't mess up Pho, this place was no exception. The broth was pretty nice and overall I found that to be solid. I would definitely come to this spot again, maybe during their night hours and with friends considering this seems like a night spot in my opinion. Check this place out if you want pretty good service and food!

We had the honor of meeting Thanh, a true queen of her craft, whose warmth and dedication are as inspiring as the food itself. The atmosphere is vibrant--beautifully decorated for Tết 2026--and the tradition of the Bánh Chưng (rice cakes) on display shows a deep respect for heritage and community. If you are looking for a place that serves the soul as much as the palate, this is it. A vital gem on Snyder Avenue. Support this business and the wonderful people behind it!

Huge bar, giant wall of liquor bottles, dim lighting, and a cool old-school vibe. I told the bartender that ordering a beer in a place like this felt like I was insulting him. He laughed and told me not to worry about it. The drink special was called "Naked and Famous," which honestly sounded like the perfect cocktail to order in honor of Jen. But then I spotted a dark beer on the menu that sounded too good to pass up. If you follow me, you know I'm slowly becoming a dark beer guy. I liked it a lot. The sandwich special was a cheesesteak. Sorry, I should've taken a picture of the menu. But I really enjoyed it, and for $18 it came with a mountain of seasoned fries, which feels like a bargain these days. Bomb Shell: the two people working absolutely crushed it. I don't know if they were understaffed or if Monday night got busier than expected, but they were working their tails off the entire time. Even with that, they stayed polite, friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating to the guy carrying around a mannequin. Great visit to Sassafras!

We both ordered a special cocktail - pornstar martini - and wowwwww it was so good. We didn't have time to stay for more unfortunately but I can't wait to go back. Great ambiance and our bartender was awesome.

When the food finally arrived at the table, my partner was wondering if it was microwaved and so was I. I think this established it is more for a good time, great drinks, and to hit that small dance floor and have a good time with friends, it's quite clear to see that food may not be their specialty as of yet, however, throwing a very vibrant vibe is! The drinks were pretty good as well. I can't lie, but it wasn't the best part of the night. The service was mediocre as we saw her from time to time. But there was no complaints as far as that's concerned because we pretty much got what we ordered and if we wanted to make any modification, then we would've gotten up and made it our business to find someone. It just gave a feeling of being overhyped and no that great when it came to the food portion.

Her attitude toward me was intense for a drink that def wasn't coming out of her pocket. And if it was, I told her not to worry bout it. She gave me a different drink and kept my old one on the table. I obv didn't drink the nasty drink and she came like 10 mins later and snatched it from us. Since it was the weekend, we had to wait in the lobby downstairs for about 15-20 minutes. Luckily, we made it up just in time to catch the sunset and take some amazing photos. We were also fortunate enough to find seats at the bar, but if you want guaranteed seating, it's definitely better to make a reservation in the main seating area. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Food - 5/5 Parking - Valet / Nearby Parking Atmosphere - The view is absolutely the star of the show. Watching the sunset over the city from this height creates an unforgettable experience, especially for a special occasion. The space itself feels upscale and lively without being overwhelming. Service - The service was excellent. Our bartender, Michael, made sure we were well taken care of throughout our visit. He was attentive, friendly, and added to the overall experience. My girlfriend especially appreciated the complimentary olives, which was a nice touch. What We Ordered - Old Fashioned (Very well balanced and smooth) Cucumber Martini (Refreshing and perfectly crafted) Final Thoughts - This was the perfect spot to celebrate a birthday. Between the stunning views, great drinks, and attentive service, it made for a memorable evening. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a great lounge experience in Philadelphia.

Food (7/10) - Mediocre food for a four seasons place. Found two thick bones in my sea bass and a thick branch that you can't chew in the veggies. Pasta was decent but nothing to rave about. Popular trout sushi is overrated - ratio of crispy rice and trout isn't right. Service (10/10) - top notch! Ambiance (10/10) - Romantic, relaxed. Beautiful 360 skyline view all around Philadelphia.
