Charges that they tried to deduct and they say they have no knowledge of, but also not concerned about.

They took money out of my account while they were supposed to be investigating charges that were being sent from their company that they said they didn't submit

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. My flight was delayed so I tried to contact customer service to see if they would wait for me. The lady on the phone was short with me explaining they will not wait. I called back for another rep and she added my flight to the roster, she said they will wait up to 30 mins. I arrived at the airport just in time and managed to make it to the counter 10 mins before close. The gentleman at the desk was the only nice thing about the whole experience. The woman who gave me the keys for my rental was very rude. I barely understood her instructions. They gave me a dirty car in the dark and expected me to do my own walk around in the dark in the middle of the dark airport. Did I mention it was midnight in the dark!!! My drive to my destination was over the 1 hour time limit given to report any found damage. It was parked at a funeral home and I drove back. There was no curb to rub or scratch the rim. Now you all claim I damaged the rim yet you provide no evidence that I did it. I have pictures of the vehicle and see no damage on the car. But of course I am being blamed and charged for it. I will never ever use your company ever again. There was no one to check the vehicle with me at drop off to verify this claim.Worst experience ever.

This is the question page, which I don't know how to answer it, because neither one is correct.

Horrible customer service! Choose another rental company. They disconnect you every time you try to reach a supervisor.

We found the following items in the car: RNC pin [3rd row cup holder] rubber duckie in a plastic container (like from the $25 cents machines) [Under a seat] dental floss stick [Drivers side door] Drop off was super simple. Drive up. unload and be on your way. As much as we created a wild story about how the RNC got wild and our minivan was at the epicenter of it all... you should clean your vehicles better.

Unfortunately, our experience renting a car through Budget at the airport was very disappointing…read more We waited in line for over an hour just to pick up our rental vehicle because the location was understaffed and reportedly down two employees. To make matters more confusing, the Budget rental kiosk was closed and customers were redirected to the Avis counter, so this review is really based on our interaction with the Avis staff handling Budget rentals. While I understand that staffing shortages can create a stressful work environment, customer service should not suffer as a result. The supervisor came across as rude and visibly stressed, and another employee seemed to take personal offense whenever customers expressed frustration about the long wait or the lack of organization. Rather than showing empathy, the staff appeared defensive and dismissive. The entire process felt disorganized and unnecessarily frustrating. Based on this experience and the poor customer service we received, I would not choose to rent from this company again and would not recommend it to others.

This past weekend ( 5/1 - 5/4) I rented Budget for the third time. I will NEVER do it again…read more While the cars are nice and the employees good, the wait times to get to an agent have been at least 60 minutes to 75 minutes long. There are plenty of computers and NEVER enough staff. I see others have had the same issue. Why ask what time our flight gets in if you don't staff accordingly? I understand your rates are generally lower than many other companies, however that's your issue when you don't have enough support staff. I am 75 years old and cannot stand (in line) that long. Thank goodness my son has been with me and he stood in line until our turn in line came. Others will continue to rent from Budget, i will never do that again. Natalie Swanson

I would strongly caution anyone considering renting from Budget based on my experience…read more We rented a vehicle from Budget at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. At pickup, we were specifically told to inspect the vehicle and take photos of any existing damage. We did exactly that. As we were leaving the airport, we noticed damage to the windshield and immediately photographed it. We still have the original photo with its date/time information documenting that the damage was present at the very beginning of our rental. After returning the vehicle, Budget sent us a letter attempting to charge us $369 for that exact windshield damage. I disputed the charge and provided the photographic evidence showing the damage was pre-existing. Instead of actually addressing the evidence, Budget sent what appears to be a canned response about "roadside services," claiming we were responsible because we hadn't purchased Extended Roadside Assistance or Loss Damage Waiver. That completely misses the point. Insurance or a damage waiver has nothing to do with whether a renter should be charged for damage that was already on the vehicle when it was handed to them. Even more concerning, their original billing letter said the charge was $369. Their response to my dispute suddenly said the charge associated with the glass was $624. No explanation for the difference. So, to recap: Budget told us to photograph existing damage. We followed their instructions. We have a timestamped photo documenting the damage at the beginning of the rental. Budget then attempted to charge us for that damage anyway. When we disputed it with evidence, they didn't address the evidence and instead sent an irrelevant response referencing a completely different dollar amount. I have asked Budget to produce its pre-rental inspection records or other evidence showing that this windshield was undamaged when the vehicle was released to us. I have also asked them to review the timestamped photograph we provided rather than simply sending another form response. This has completely changed the way I view Budget. If customers can follow Budget's own instructions to document pre-existing damage and then still have to fight hundreds of dollars in charges for that same damage afterward, that's a serious problem. Thankfully, I took the photo. My advice to anyone renting here: photograph and video every inch of the vehicle before you leave the lot, keep the original files, and save every piece of documentation. Based on my experience, you may need it. I will update this review if Budget actually reviews the evidence and resolves the charge appropriately.

Rented a truck through a govt. site with Hertz. Great with checking out the vehicle and getting all…read morethe paperwork. They had to upgrade my choice also due to they rented all the trucks I picked were rented out. So, my issue is returning the vehicle! They did not tell me that I CAN NOT RETURN THIS VEHICLE in the normal spot(because it is very big and tall). I had to drive around to try to find someone that actually knew what they were doing to help me( no luck). So I decided to park it where I got it from. When I did this an employee popped out of another car to help me?? I then took the key to the front desk and returned the vehicle. Now the person helping me at the desk was in a rush because she was going home and let me know about a half of dozen times. But, completed my return so I thought!? Now, 5days later receiving emails that the vehicle needs to be returned? HUH! Calling there number, yeah no one picks up. Emailing the person who emailed me, yeah right no response! So, called the customer help line! Now I have to send pictures of the receipt. Give them all the details of the return and so on. After this she states, They will email you the close out ticket? Wait the same ones who will not pick up the phone(but on the phone the whole time when you are checking out a car?) or email me(Haha the same ones who can be on personal phones when checking out cars or not emailing people back when need be?) Never rented from this company before(even through the Gov X. Site). I'm a pretty easy going guy. But, this really blows my mind!! Especially when you can't call the desk or even get help when returning the vehicle? And all you have is a corp line to call! gave 2 starts should be 1.5 can't knock the truck! And still waiting for them to close out my ticket so it can be released from my card!!!! After 5 days. Advice use another rental company. They been around for a while but need to work on the site customer service and counter appearance and etiquette. After reading some other post renting from this location a guess I just joined the S*%t show with you!!!

I had a reservation, but that didn't help. They wouldn't allow me to rent a car because of a drivers license issue, even though it was well within their policies which were right in front of me on paper, and I even offered to log into the government DMV website to verify my drivers license. But the manager/supervisor was inconvenienced that he was called to the front desk late at night, so he simply refused to follow policy. Had to get a hotel for the night and rent a car the following day through Turo. I tried reaching out to Hertz, regional manager and customer service, and sent an email two months ago with no response.

I think that airport business can be stressful in and of itself, but I also think that the staff at airport car rental counters should be trained to be aware of this, and to go out of their way to be patient and understanding when dealing with a rental customer. I also think that they should provide clear information about the car one is about to drive away in, and should print out the rental agreement in total before asking the customer to sign. Such was not the case for us, and we only got to see the hard copy of the rental agreement when we got home to our printer, which turned out to be very important, and which included our purchase of a loss/damage waiver. The car we received was not the one we signed up for, similar but not as easy to get in and out of as the one we expected. Additionally, it was parked in a dark, remote garage, making it difficult to inspect before driving off. Still, we walked around the car and did not spot anything major. The car drove okay, we experienced nothing unusual, filled it with fuel and returned it. The young man who received us pointed out a "dent" in the left rear quarter panel, but we knew had not happened while we had the car, as it had no scratches or paint transfer, and we pointed that out. We also told the young man that we had a loss/damage waiver and he changed his tune, called somebody and we overheard the respondent say "rear quarter panel was already reported ". Nonetheless, it was concerning, and later we received a letter about potential liability, despite the fact that when we finally printed out our rental agreement, it was noted that there was the prior dent damage on the car BEFORE we drove it. Calls to the folks who process damage claims informed us that the case had been closed. All of this was enough to have us thinking long and hard about future rentals. For sure, we will always purchase the loss/damage waiver.
