It's open from 8am to 5pm daily with an all-star cast of incredible knowledgeable and caring individuals who help keep GTN great. Grab a wagon and load up because you won't know when to stop with some many great plants, deals on supplies and their inviting layout. As a small chain of garden centers meets plant nurseries I have to say this location stands out. Their online shop is easy also with get learning materials, newsletters , resources and even a plant library. I'll never forget my first trip here with my friend Sam, definitely need to hit her up again for a plant day, but absolutely still enjoy coming here with others and of course solo for some planty self-care. Adding some Elephant Bush (Portulacaria afra) friends to the plant family at home. Absolutely and 818/SFV/LA Valley favorite among many. You'll want to get lost between the many areas the have here and in the main area as well as their extended open air garden on the parking lot side. Staff here is very personable and extremely knowledgeable. From lawn and outdoor patio furniture or fixtures, fountains, decorations and plant care musts, GTN has a bit of it all. Even fun seasonal items and sales. Entrance in back, where you'll also find their parking lot, fairly spacious, but it can and does fill up on weekends. Restroom available for customers.

Location 4 stars: On the South side of Sherman Way, just East of Topanga Cyn Blvd, in Canoga Park. Plenty of free self-parking on their lot in the back. Venue 4 stars: Huge indoor and outdoor facility, with a big selection of plants, trees, fountains, pots, gardening tools, patio furniture, barbeques, you name it! You can spend hours there and not run out of things to check out. Selection 4 stars: Better than most other nurseries and of course hardware stores. Great options for decorative indoor and outdoor flowers and plants, shrubs, fruit trees, etc. etc. Prices 3.5 stars: For plants: Reasonable, better than say Lowe's or Home Depot. For furniture, fountains, etc: Expensive!

I spent Valentine's Day at Topanga nursery with one of my besties. We started the day with a "tai…read morechi with fan" class in the garden with Joelle from Warrior Healing Arts. We stopped back through for a tea and honey tasting in the afternoon. I can't say enough good things about the staff at Topanga nursery. The grounds are surprising. You really have to see it because you can't judge it from the street. There are community classes and activities. Follow their IG and FB pages then go to their website to view a calendar. You can go to the Just Vibes grab a custom coffee and then walk the grounds and speak with the staff about what they offer there as far as trees and plants. They also have beehives and in their gift shop they have every variety of honey you can think of as well as lovely gift items from books to body care to jewelry to honey. It is a hidden treasure in the San Fernando Valley. It's a fun day out for families with kids and just by yourself. Go check them out!

The prices seem very reasonable too. I talked to one of the workers and he was so sweet and answered all of my questions. They were also doing an event for children which is great! Clearly very community oriented which I love. I can't wait to come back to get plants for my yard.

We visited this nursery for the first time this morning…read more We didn't buy anything, just browsed for now. We were emotional and teary eyed the whole time. This little paradise felt like back home with the fragrance and royal beauty of its rare Persian trees and plants . Justin is very nice and knowledgeable about plants. The high prices are justified for the rare Persian specialties. For the rest of the plants, I am not knowledgeable enough to know. They do not offer free delivery. They also do not offer planting services unless you buy a certain number of trees and the owner approves. I wish they did. Some of us are not able bodied and need a little help planting. Despite the prices, we will come back in a couple of months when it's cool enough to plant and grow and buy what we can afford. Who knows, maybe by then they will offer planting services for a fee. Parking is limited so go early.

I found via Yelp that Paradise Nursery had an array of different types of citrus trees along with other fruit trees that I was interested in. The yellow brick road led us to a very busy free and down to the outskirts of Chatsworth. The exit from the freeway was easy and it took us straight to the nursery. I drove into the parking area and got out into the hot sun!! Citrus trees everywhere!!! It was quiet...strange. I thought there would have been more folks roaming the nursery. Guess what I found out that day as the owner (Shawn) was walking towards us. They were closed and I was trespassing (kidding!) he was nice enough to allow us to stay and find what we wanted to purchase. I felt bad. And also embarrassed at the same time. But here we are. Sixty miles away from home and all I wanted were the lemon trees. Shawn told us we can roam around and see if there was anything on his lot we would like to purchase. After a few minutes of checking out the citrus trees, my older sister wanted to see if there were other "species" of lemons. Lo and behold, she found the Buddha's' Hands and was adamant about bringing one home. Of course I couldn't say no to her so we got a 5-gallon one which had two fruits bearing the stem and then I found a mini Myer lemons and decided to bring both home. The trees came to the total of $118.00 and I cannot be any happier than to have forced my way into Shawn's nursery that day. He was a good sport and answered all the questions I had regarding taking my new plant babies home. Please note the nursery is closed Sunday and Monday. They also do delivery of your purchase to your home or office. I will be stopping by again and I promise this time, it won't be on Sunday!!

I wanted to write a review for Green Thumb Growing Grounds after reading the negative reviews from…read moreother people. First off this is a commercial "trade only" business. They do not provide advice on plants, how to maintain them, install or give any warranties. If you want that, go to their retail division on Sherman Way, Home Depot or Lowes. I have bought many plants from them and have had incredible results. If you are having trouble picking the right plants I'd suggest reaching out to a professional landscaper or going to their retail store. It's very tricky to get the right plant for the right area, especially since our conditions vary with extreme heat. I've had nothing but positive experiences with the customer service and plants and supplies that I've bought over the years. I also know many other people in the trade who rely and trust Green Thumb on a regular basis. They are a family owned and operated business for almost 70 years and have one of the widest selections of plants in the West Valley. From ground cover to trees to native and drought tolerant plants, succulents to perennials, you will be hard pressed to find a wider range. I've heard they have over 3,000 varieties of plants on hand at all times. The Green Thumb Growing Grounds has excellent selection and quantities if you are doing a larger landscaping installation. If they do not have what you need, they can often order it and get what you are looking for in 1-2 days even. They also offer soil amendments, ground covers, fertilizers and everything you need for the actual planting. They do not sell tools or other equipment. Their custom service has always been polite and professional, and their prices are very reasonable.
