My wife and I bought a bedframe with 2 attaching night stands and a Tempurpedic mattress from Sit 'n Sleep. We were taken through the process by Sharon, who assured us the bed would be delivered and setup on Sunday. She told us to expect a call on Saturday from the delivery company to setup a time that works best. We waited until 5pm on Saturday and no call. We called the Oxnard Sit 'n Sleep and talked directly with Sharon who told us that sometimes the call comes as late as 7pm. We waited the rest of the night with no call and contacted Sharon again the following day. This time, she told us her records showed the delivery was scheduled for Tuesday. In short, we have had to sleep in our new apartment for 4 nights without a bed, because Sit n Sleep are crooks who I will never buy from again! read more

I traveled a good distance to meet with David Stengel at the store upon recommendation from a friend. It was worth the trip. He was knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated to making sure I got the best bed for me at a great price. I bought a Tempurpedic Cloud Luxe and it is amazing! I also got the foundation with the drawers. Fantastic! I tried to be very clear about the phone number I wanted them to use for confirming delivery, but they called a different number. That is the only negative in an otherwise terrific experience, Dave obviously cares deeply about his job and has a warm personality. Purchased my new mattress set on-line and figured I'd be in for a real disaster. Not only was I amazed at the customer service you simply cannot beat their prices...my set was $600.00, I've researched and can't find the set anywhere else for less than $900.00. I ordered on-line on Wednesday, received a call on Thursday to set up a delivery time for Saturday, I chose 11am and since they give a 4 hour window I figured I'd be there waiting forever...WRONG, instead they called me at 10:30am (I wasn't home yet) and said their delivery guys were at my place waiting!!! I was totally impressed with the urgency and lightening speed these guys had!! I live on the third floor and they had that mattress up the steps and set up on the frame before I could even get the lights on in the house!! 4/9/12 @ around 6:30-7:00pm, that was the salespersons shift and i cant remember his name. he was a latino, darker complexion. He greeted us half assed showed us around, checked for prices, but was most interested in walking away from us (empty store no clients) and going to watch his Novela on the TV. comments like, these mattresses are the same prices everywhere (after we told him we saw the same one at a lower price at sears.) he just acted like we werent gonna buy anything so why even try. we wanted to buy one that day, we really need one, but were NOT in no way giving his half a*sed service, careless attitude a sale. As he saw us walk out (because he wasn't even coming back to us and see if we decided on something) he didnt bother to say a peep, no bye, thanks for coming, nada. his customer service doesnt even deserve a star. read more

We we're greeted promptly and friendly we had a very nice and enjoyable experience. We got a good mattress and a great value for our money however when they delivered our mattress they brought the wrong box spring and to top it all off we didn't get the correct one for a month and that was only because my husband had to go pick it up otherwise we probably still have the wrong box spring . Over all in service they fell short the value is good but I honestly don't know if I would go there again. read more

We bought a bed set from Robert Flores 1n March 2011. In 2015 we returned and bought another similar set from Robert Flores. We were surprised that he remembered us from 4 years before. His service and knowledge are great. He attended to our wishes, desires and making our selection. No high pressure, instead a strong desire to make another satisfied customer. We'll buy from him again, should the need arise. Thanks so much, Robert ! The mattress we bought in 2015 failed. It lost was very bad. So we went in to see Mgr. Robert Flores and he said that he'd report the failure to upstairs. He did, they sent a mattress inspector our and he determined that the mattress had failed. We got an email giving us full credit toward a replacement mattress. We took that into the store and Flores was out so we talked with David Stengel and he showed us several mattresses to evaluate and when my wife was not sure which one she'd like to have, he suggested we go home and come back the next day and check again. We did. They made us ultra happy with the replacement arrangements. Oh yes, we wish it had not failed, but it did. However, they treated us like royalty as to the matter. I went to Sit and sleep and spoke to Tom he is a great guy, we were looking to buy a bed and could not get the deal although tom did what he could to help us. I then called back and dealt with another salesman and I told him I want to purchase a Queen size bed and they had a special for $799.99 and a free bike, sounds good, so i went in and then was told the mattress is 799.99 and the box springs were extra, WHAT... wow ok and I signed up for the sit and sleep email campaign and was issued a $100.00 coupon but I was told I could not use it with the purchase. They will be very nice to you when you are buying your mattress, but if something actually goes wrong, you're screwed!! My boyfriend bought his mattress here 4 months ago and the box spring broke. He was told that it broke due to abuse and that they can't do a damn thing about it. I had once purchased a bed from here and they convinced me to buy a mattress protector but when I tried to return it because it was too noisy they told me they couldn't take it back because I had taken it out of the box!! When I returned to the store room to choose another mattress I met the store manger, Robert Flores. Prior to meeting Robert, I was not pleased with my experience at Sit and Sleep and would not have recommended the store. Robert was a great sales person! He took my needs and concerns into consideration and was able to answer all questions that I had about various brands. He also allowed me shop and browse at my own pace which is important to me. I came on a weekday after work and unfortunately there were several customers but only 1 sales associate so I had to wait a while to be helped. No big deal though, because I needed time to look around. The sales associate was knowledgeable about the products and helped me decide on a mattress, which so far I am happy with. My only criticism is that I haven't bought a mattress in a long time and forgot to ask about a bed frame, which I hoped would have been at least offered to me for an additional cost if not included in my purchase since I was buying a mattress and the mattress cover for over $200. The delivery guys came when they said they would and everything went smoothly with the delivery. I would shop here again. read more

I said in my last review I would not let them in my house to check my mattress. Well I did and showed him when you press down with your hand the mattress sinks 3/4 inches. When I'm laying on it it goes down 5/6 inches. He agreed, but he said he can't check it that way. He has to lay a string with weights across the mattress. The problem is todays mattreses have memory form so it will come back even thou the mattress sinks when you lay on it. It did not do this in the beginning. This is a BeautyRest $1900.00 mattress. I found out from another customer that you DO-NOT GET THE SAME MATTRESS THAT IS THE SHOW ROOM.IT IS A LESSER QUALITY. I CAN ATTEST TO THAT. When I went back to the store to complain they did not want to even talk to me. Dealing with sit n sleep is like dealing with an unscrupulous used car dealer from LA. They could care less. Let this be a warning, stay away from these people unless you like getting ripped off. read more

We purchased a Tempur-pedic Cloud Cal King Mattress Set from Sit'n Sleep in Oxnard. We also bought two Tempur-pedic symphony pillows. The mattress and the pillows cost over $4,500 and they smelled like latex gloves on steroids. We would describe sleeping on this mattress like sleeping on a squishy rock. We called our salesperson Robert who was very nice. He said that is a common complaint for all Termpur-pedic buyers and that the smell would go away and that we would get used to this mattress. I stripped the bed every day and aired the room out. After 10 days the room reeked from a chemical/latex oder so badly we couldn't sleep in our own bedroom. We called the store and Robert told us the store policy is that the customer can not return a Tempur-pedic mattress for 30 days. We stopped sleeping in the room, because of the toxic smell. We called again in 10 days and this time we filed a complaint with American Express. Robert had the mattress picked up "against store policy" on day 20, for which we are grateful. Sit'n Sleep would not accept the Tempur-pedic pillows at all. They cost $100 each. One was unopened. I had the packaging for the other pillow. Sit'n Sleep also charged us $249 to pick up the stinky mattress. The purchase cost us $200 in pillows we are throwing out and $249 to take away the mattress. Their return policy for items that are potentially harmful to their customers is not excusable. Think twice about what you purchase from Sit'n Sleep. I did look at Macy's return policy for the same mattress and pillows. They would have accepted the pillows as returns in the box no problem. Macy's charges $70 for pick ups plus 10% according to their web site. Next time I am buying from Macy's. read more

Update to my previous 5 star post. A few days after we received our mattress, we realized that we shouldn't have gotten it. The mattress was just too firm. At the showroom it seemed fine, but sleeping on it for a few days painted a different picture. I called John Baltramaitis at the Oxnard office and he said, "No problem, come pick out a new one and we will deliver it and take the old one back." We went the next day to pick out a more plush mattress and the deal was done. There was no problem at all. He wasn't upset, and was just as courteous as the first time we came to him. The movers came a few days later and took the old mattress and set up the new one....no questions asked. The movers were phenomenal by the way....the crew on the first delivery and the second. They were very nice, efficient and clean. They wore gloves when handling our new mattresses. I know there are some negative reviews out there about people not being able to return defective product, but we had no such problem. The contract states that if we are unhappy with our mattress that we can return it for a different one. Having the piece of mind of not being locked in to a decision on a mattress until we slept on it for 30 days is well worth the re-stocking fee we paid to exchange for the mattress that fit our needs. It has been a month on our new mattress and we love it. Might I point out that the warranty is only good if the mattress is not damaged, especially by stains. It is imperative, and well worth the extra cost to purchase the mattress and pillow protectors. You can't even tell they are there and will keep any spills from penetrating the material. Seriously Sit n Sleep?. I'am a disabled college student with not allot of cash, and knowing this place is kinda pricey and me in need of a bed, I decided to give this place a shot anyways. Their website advertises a 90 day payment plan which I thought was very helpful for people( like me ) that can't afford to pay upfront for a bed. A/w, I got there, choose a bed in my budge. When i went to pay,I felt like I was treated really rudely and unfairly.My checks look weird, so naturally our sales-person David called the manager(robert) to take a look at the checks and thats when my problems started. As soon as he seen me, I felt like I was stereotyped.His expression on his face said it all," Oh, here comes another poor cholo".So the manager(robert) starts to check out my checks and this dude has the nerve to ask me " Did you make these yourself?" Seriously? I would of walked out right there if it wasn't for my girl really wanting a new bed. Then he proceeds to tell me I have to wait until Friday for my bed when it would of been available Wednesday. So he logs the checks in the computer and tells me the "system" won't accept the checks. Seriously? Why? The routing numbers are clearly displayed on the check. The manager( robert) told me I was refused by the system, not them. So disappointed, I head to my local bank branch to sort the check thing out and I was told by the bank the "system" should of accepted my checks. So I take it that the MANAGER(robert) from sit n sleep refused my checks because he stereotyped me as a cholo crook. Did he think my checks were going to bounce and I was going to burn them for a bed? That I was trying to scam them?IDK. I wouldn't recommend coming to this place unless your wearing some kind of dress shirt and slacks. Ive been stereotyped before but usually they'll still take my money. This was the first time I felt my money wasn't good enough. Needless to say, I bit the bullet and bought a bed upfront across the freeway, much better experince. Robert needs some customer service training because his assumptions are all wrong about his customers and he treats the customers what he sees fit, not what they deserve. read more
