Solid 4 Stars for SISU Brewing Co.! We had a great meal at SISU Brewing Co. The atmosphere was excellent--big, open seating area with a comfortable, laid-back vibe. Service was solid, friendly, and always delivered with a smile. Three of the four adults at our table went with the fish and chips with a cup of clam chowder. The fish was well prepared with a cornmeal-style batter that was light and not greasy at all. Nice chunks of halibut, although a couple pieces leaned just a little dry. The chips came out hot and crispy, exactly how you want them. The clam chowder was also very good, with plenty of actual clam pieces and nice chunks of potato. Good stuff! I went a different direction with the Fishwich, prepared blackened, and that was the WINNER at our table. Everything worked--the blackened fish was seasoned perfectly, with fresh lettuce and tomato bringing it all together. I'd order that one again in a heartbeat. We also started with a pretzel, but apparently it was too good to photograph because it was devoured before anyone remembered to take a picture. Overall, SISU gets a solid mark from us. Feeling like some fish n chips and happened upon Sisu. We walked in to Sisu and were promptly greeted and sat. We then waited a long time for a server. After asking one showed up. He was friendly and helpful. We started with an order of the Poutine fries and a cup of clam chowder. Both were really good. I ordered the fish and chips and they were yummy. Nice and crisp with delicious light flakey halibut on the inside. My buddy went with the weekly special prime rib dinner. He said it was good. Overall good experience. read more

Stopped in to check out this big cool looking brewpub. They were decked out for Christmas. The host came right up and offered me options to sit. I chose the bar seating area. It had a good view of the restaurant, bar, and street through the huge front windows. I got a big Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese and their house mustard sauce. It was so good and very filling. They had the best clam Chowder I've ever had! It was so deep with flavor and packed with clams. Delicious. I got a house salad to go and it was so big I couldn't finish it. It had lots of fresh veggies and even to-go it was extremely well presented. I got the balsamic vinaigrette, which was perfect. My server/bar tender, Mike, was awesome. Fun, funny, and so helpful to answer all my questions, of which there were a lot. I got two of their IPAs, the Saint Urho and the ISO. Both great, but I liked the St. Urho a little more. We went here NYE and had a couple of different items. We had the Royale Burger, Chicken wings, Bavarian pretzel, and the Fishwich. I also had the Tenacity Red Ale to drink. The food was pretty good, the only thing I didn't like was the Chicken wings. The texture of the skin threw me off. They were rubbery and kind of hard to eat. Also a little dry. I wouldn't order these again. The burger was good and so was the fish sandwich, just good. The Bavarian pretzel was huge, probably as big as my head and it came with mustard or beer cheese. So of course we got the beer cheese and that was pretty delicious. The Tenacity Red Ale was pretty good. I'm giving 3 stars for the food and 4 stars for the service. Our server was so nice and attentive. Checked on us a few times and our food came out in really good time. read more

I'm already looking forward to my return to Sisu! The space was great. Very spacious. Plenty of room for small and large groups. Staff was very attentive. We had the salmon cesar and chicken wings. If I had to do it again, I would not get the house smoked chicken wings. They might be your jam, but they just weren't mine. Plus, even after washing my hands postmeal, the lingering smoked scent from my fingers wafted up to my nose continually as my hands were on the steering wheel the rest of our drive home! I did not get to indulge in the beer because of the drive home we had ahead of us, but the beer descriptions sure did make the beer sound amazing! Cool little brewery with good food! I didn't really go inside and instead opted to sit on the patio. Service was good. They have lots of different beer but I only tried one. I tried the St. Urho IPA. I picked it solely based on the name alone and due to my Finnish heritage. It was one of the better IPAs I had in the PNW. My main objective was good. We started with the fried dill pickle chips. I really liked these and I feel like they were really well done. The breading was light but it stayed on the pickle. Definitely recommend and would eat again. For my entree, I had the Sisu Salmon Sandwich: grilled salmon, mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, radish, capers, mustard dill sauce, toasted bun, and lemon. The sandwich comes with fries but I opted for a Caesar salad instead. The salad was good. I'd eat it again. The standout was the sandwich. There was so much going on but in a good way. The salmon was fresh and well cooked. I've never had a caper on a sandwich and the flavor and texture it brought were a pleasant surprise. We were in town and stopped at farmers market and was looking for a non packed lunch option as we had our fur babies with us. It was around 11 am and had open tables on the outside. We drive by it (at least the location) but know this owner just opened at this location. Service was okay but the food options were plentiful and well priced for what you got. A great new addition to the main streets of Astoria. Taking over the Foodhub on Marine Dr. Their second location newly opened. Sisu Brewing has a well balanced tap list and tasty eats. Lots of room in the building with bench and stool seating. Great for groups. The place is very clean and bright. You can order at the bar but they will also server your table. Sports and shows playing on the TVs above the bar. Limited bar seating. Servers were polite and attentive to needs. I got a beer and some pickle chips. Both were very good. A nice spot for a quick drink in between places or for a long stay. Look forward to trying a full meal. read more

I got take out a few weeks ago. I ordered the salmon salad and my friend ordered a burger. Probably better eaten inside instead of ordering out. The ambiance was nice in the brewery so I could definitely see myself enjoying the space next time I eat here. For me the salmon salad wasnt my favorite others may enjoy it but for me it was too heavy on the pickled vegetables, which is clearly stated on the menu. I'm sure others who enjoy that would love the salad. The salmon also had a little fishy smell to it My friend enjoyed the burger! Walking around trying to check out new/diff places from last time we were here; open and inviting, lots of room with communal style seating and a bar top. Had 2 of their IPAs while the wife had a blueberry cocktail, all super good and refreshing. Having family from Finland I HAD to check out this place and I'm so glad I did! Service was incredible. The place was packed and there were only two servers, but you could see how well they worked as a team. I was greeted immediately and received a table right away. I had the orange lager which was super smooth. For food, I ordered the fish sandwich that was super crispy, fresh, and delicious! They make a wide variety of beers to choose from. Fish & Chips were one of the best I've had. Halibut was perfect and the fries were hot and crispy. Their clam chowder is delicious! Creamy and full of nice chunks of clams and potatoes. Be sure to get their house salad! Impressive, homemade dressing and very fresh ingredients. We went twice while in Astoria for the weekend. This is such a great restaurant; portion sizes are large and the food is fresh. Way better than you'd expect from a brewery. It's dog and kid friendly which is a huge plus and they stay open late which helps when you've spent a long day sightseeing. Folks here are friendly and the drinks are really good too! read more

I went to the Astoria location twice. The first time they had a special menu that was excellent plus the beers were delicious.
