a large cheese pizza in a box

I've been meaning to try this local place for quite some time. Finally went for it and found it to be average. The marinara sauce was very chunky, was weird to try to dip the cheese-sticks into. There were an excessive amount of onions on one of the pizzas and the pizzas were fairly greasy. The bacon cheeseburger was decent, we added black olives. With all the pizza places in the area, it won't be at the top of my list.

Look.... idk what happened to this place in the last year but their breadsticks aren't the same. Pizza is still good, but Lansing, Michigan's sir pizza in Old Town has always been way better in quality. This does not compare whatsoever. I've eaten here at least 15 times in the past year but every time it's just not as good as what I grew up with. Take it from a foodie.

Great pizza and friendly service. Great inspection rating on the wall of 96!

I don't usually start a review like this, but you could see how she connected with each table and wanted everyone to have a great time. 20/10 Customer Service. My fabulous wife started with a Forbidden Sour drink and it was really good. She also got the Bruschetta: Garlic Rubbed Focaccia, Burrata, Cherry Tomato, Basil & Arugula Pesto, and Balsamic Pearls. She said it was delicious. We both choose the Cast Iron Lasagna: Bolognese, Ricotta, Mozzarella, and Basil. Pure delicious comfort food. Hot and bubbly beautiful and so tasty. Very Satisfying. Excellent Ambiance and would definitely return. Fabulous Service.

The restaurant is in a complex of several establishments. The dining room decor is modern with seating on two levels. When we arrived, we had to wait a few minutes to be seated as the restaurant was fairly busy on a Monday night, I assume due to the happy hour special that runs all night. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer to start and some drinks. The appetizer came out promptly and was nicely done, with plentiful helpings of burrata and cherry tomatoes layered with balsamic pearls. The pearls have the appearance of caviar so it was a pretty and flavorful twist. Unfortunately, that was the end of the positives. Our dinner entrees included the chicken parmesan and grilled salmon. Both were overcooked and the salmon in particular (I asked for it to be rare in the center) was so throughly cooked it had a very grainy texture. The sauce was bland and the pasta overly soft. Service was pretty one-note as well, not rude but not particularly attentive either. Dinner ran $120 with tip including two cocktails and one beer. Really disappointing.

Like, it's good enough that you *will* contemplate eating your order in your car before heading home. It's well worth the drive and it will live up to everything you've heard/read. It will. You absolutely need to patronize it. TdG had been on my radar for a minute but I'm not often in Hermitage* and I couldn't justify driving out of town for food when I have other options closer by. BUT I had to find out if the food was *just* that good. I'd read rave after rave. It's just pasta. Can it be that great? So, on a chilly late fall Saturday night I decided I needed to find out. I'd done my research so I knew the place was small. I knew I might need to play human tetris in the waiting area on a cold day. I knew what to order. But I also 'knew' that the 'say Yelp' phrase would offer a discount. The phrase was uttered but no discount came my way (which is the reason for the four stars instead of five). Lack of discount aside, everyone with whom I interacted was very polite and welcoming even despite the place being a madhouse of activity and orders. My food was ready in an appropriate amount of time and the bag had adequate weight/heft. The pleasant aroma filled the cold air as I walked to my car and surrounded me all the way home. I came home, poured a glass of wine, plated my food and... wow. This was/is phenomenal. I ordered the 4 cheese gnocchi and, without a doubt, one of the best gnocchi dishes I have had in life (and I used to be paid to eat**). I think I uttered the word 'perfect' between forkfuls. Each 'perfect' pillowy dumpling was lathered in a combo of mozzarella, asiago, gorgonzola, and pecorino. That alone would have been delicious but woven into the dish were ribbons of crispy prosciutto. Other.Worldy. It's getting cold. Sweater weather is here. Bathing suit season is months away. You're free to eat heaping plates of some of the best pasta you've ever had. *I came before they had a second location. **Among other things.

And to those people, I ask, "Have you ever been to Antioch?" No, this place isn't scary or in a rough neighborhood. It's definitely not Brentwood, but it's safe to say you can leave your pitchforks and torches at home. It is, for lack of better words, located in a hole in the wall of a micro-tiny strip mall, next to a sports bar. Inside, it is sweet and cozy. In this cozy place, you will find the friendliest of staff members. To have an entire staff give their customers the utmost respect is one of the most challenging tasks of any business owner. So the fact that this owner was able to achieve such a difficult task is something to applaud. There is no board with an entire menu, but there are small pamphlets off to the side with the menu. I ordered the pepperoni pizza along with the meatballs as an appetizer. My friend and I sat outside, where they have outdoor seating and tables. That, I have to say, is the only downside to this place. The seating. No indoor seating, and with how ever-changing Middle Tennessee's weather is, you might have to drive it home or eat it in the car. But with humidity changing texture in a box or to-go box, it might take the freshness away from the experience. After the food was brought out to us, which is a plus and highly appreciated, we were ready to eat. I did have to run inside to grab some packets of crushed red pepper. You must ask for it, which, without hesitation, the man minding the wood stove gladly grabbed for me. Separating a slice of pizza from the others was a sight to see. What you typically want to see separating pizza. The ooey gooey cheese in entanglement. I took a bite and fell in love with the freshness. Every ingredient is fresh, and you don't feel that awful sloth feeling that a Pizza Hut pizza would leave you with. The pepperoni was to die for. Although the meatballs had a flavor that I wasn't too happy with, I knew they were good, even if my flavor profile didn't desire it much. The meatballs were incredibly soft, and the sauce they bathed in, with a sprinkle of ricotta cheese, was divine. My friend happily downed the entire box they sat in. This now will forever be one of my go-to pizza places. And yes, it's worth it to eat in your car, if need be.

One of my favorite restaurants growing up was this family Italian joint called Carmine's. My…read morefavorite thing to order there was what they called spaghetti with meatballs. But, speaking to that, it had a couple of intersting aspects. One, they would literally give you 10-20% more if you ordered that dish to go because their to-go containers when filled were noticeably larger than the dishes your entrees came on. And, two, their "spaghetti" was actually linguine and is 100% the reason linguine is my favorite noodle when it comes to traditional rope pasta. I told you that to tell you this, Fayzano's "linguine" is definitely fettuccine. Those noodles were super wide. Not that that's a huge deal, but much like getting linguine when you're expecting spaghetti, the mouth feel for fettuccine is not the same as the mouth feel for linguine. It holds the sauce different, it retains the clams different, and the proportion of sauce to pasta is super different. I mean--it was good. Clams in red sauce will always be my preferred go-to order, but I still would've rather had the skinnier flat noodles of a linguine than a super wide fettuccine noodle. It's just more satisfying to me. The service here was good. They got our food quickly and with minimum banter. And then they got out of the way, checking in maybe every five to ten minutes, which is the perfect amount. The ambiance was good. It's a good neighborhood pizza and pasta joint like Carmine's. It's not very big but it has a lot of spacing between the tables as not to feel cramped up in there. It's also deceptively laid out to feel fuller than it is, which is nice. It gives the whole place a nice energy. I still wish thru had real linguine, but if that's my chief complaint then you know this place is doing something right.

They gave us so much sauce for the Chicken Alfredo and I love that very much. Most restaurants, they don't put a lot of sauces in their pasta so I was amazed by the amount of food and sauce they served us. Wings were 100/10 and their pizza was like, hmmm, like NY style slices. Sooooo good. Highly recommend this place!

The staff did a great job explaining the menu and helping us understand the different dishes, which we really appreciated. One thing that surprised us was that it isn't a full-service restaurant--you order and pay first, then find a table while they bring out the food. We ordered a variety of pastas and pizzas so we could try a bit of everything. The pastas were the stars of the meal. All four pasta dishes were excellent, each with its own unique flavor, and we thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. Our pizzas came out a little later, and by then we were already full from the pasta. We ended up taking them home, and they were still delicious even when we ate them later. The only downside to our visit was the temperature inside the restaurant. I'm not sure if the air conditioning wasn't working properly, but it was quite warm inside, and by the end of lunch we were sweating, which made the experience a little less comfortable. Overall, the food was excellent, especially the pasta, and we'd definitely come back to try more of the menu. Hopefully, the temperature issue was just a one-time occurrence.
