But, speaking to that, it had a couple of intersting aspects. One, they would literally give you 10-20% more if you ordered that dish to go because their to-go containers when filled were noticeably larger than the dishes your entrees came on. And, two, their "spaghetti" was actually linguine and is 100% the reason linguine is my favorite noodle when it comes to traditional rope pasta. I told you that to tell you this, Fayzano's "linguine" is definitely fettuccine. Those noodles were super wide. Not that that's a huge deal, but much like getting linguine when you're expecting spaghetti, the mouth feel for fettuccine is not the same as the mouth feel for linguine. It holds the sauce different, it retains the clams different, and the proportion of sauce to pasta is super different. I mean--it was good. Clams in red sauce will always be my preferred go-to order, but I still would've rather had the skinnier flat noodles of a linguine than a super wide fettuccine noodle. It's just more satisfying to me. The service here was good. They got our food quickly and with minimum banter. And then they got out of the way, checking in maybe every five to ten minutes, which is the perfect amount. The ambiance was good. It's a good neighborhood pizza and pasta joint like Carmine's. It's not very big but it has a lot of spacing between the tables as not to feel cramped up in there. It's also deceptively laid out to feel fuller than it is, which is nice. It gives the whole place a nice energy. I still wish thru had real linguine, but if that's my chief complaint then you know this place is doing something right.

Part of the dining area looking at the kitchen entrance. Nice vibe.

Like, it's good enough that you *will* contemplate eating your order in your car before heading home. It's well worth the drive and it will live up to everything you've heard/read. It will. You absolutely need to patronize it. TdG had been on my radar for a minute but I'm not often in Hermitage* and I couldn't justify driving out of town for food when I have other options closer by. BUT I had to find out if the food was *just* that good. I'd read rave after rave. It's just pasta. Can it be that great? So, on a chilly late fall Saturday night I decided I needed to find out. I'd done my research so I knew the place was small. I knew I might need to play human tetris in the waiting area on a cold day. I knew what to order. But I also 'knew' that the 'say Yelp' phrase would offer a discount. The phrase was uttered but no discount came my way (which is the reason for the four stars instead of five). Lack of discount aside, everyone with whom I interacted was very polite and welcoming even despite the place being a madhouse of activity and orders. My food was ready in an appropriate amount of time and the bag had adequate weight/heft. The pleasant aroma filled the cold air as I walked to my car and surrounded me all the way home. I came home, poured a glass of wine, plated my food and... wow. This was/is phenomenal. I ordered the 4 cheese gnocchi and, without a doubt, one of the best gnocchi dishes I have had in life (and I used to be paid to eat**). I think I uttered the word 'perfect' between forkfuls. Each 'perfect' pillowy dumpling was lathered in a combo of mozzarella, asiago, gorgonzola, and pecorino. That alone would have been delicious but woven into the dish were ribbons of crispy prosciutto. Other.Worldy. It's getting cold. Sweater weather is here. Bathing suit season is months away. You're free to eat heaping plates of some of the best pasta you've ever had. *I came before they had a second location. **Among other things.

This was my second visit to this location; my first visit was on July 31, 2026, when I placed an online order totaling $43.16. During today's visit, I went inside to order garlic knots and a Greek salad. When she asked what salad dressing I preferred, I said Caesar. Her response was, "I know y'all like ranch." I told her I don't use ranch, and she then suggested they have a good raspberry balsamic vinaigrette. I insisted, "No, I would like the Caesar, please." When she asked for my name for the order, I told her Tonia, and she replied that she hadn't heard that name in a long time. She went on to say that she had a friend she grew up with named Tonia, only to correct herself and say her friend's name was actually Geniva. As I paid for my order, I noticed her patting her head. When I asked her why she was doing that, she said, "Ain't that what y'all do?" She then turned to me and asked why we pat our heads. At this point, I asked her for a refund. She responded, "Don't y'all wear wigs?" I repeated my request for a refund, and she finally agreed. Despite having left her a tip, I cannot overlook the racist comments directed toward the Black community. I will not patronize a restaurant that is hostile toward Black people.

3.5 stars. The wife…read moreand I came here when we first moved to Mt Juliet back about 10 years ago. Having both been MTSU students and having met in Murfreesboro, we were both more than familiar with the original Sir Pizza on Main St. Been many times and love it always. Unfortunately, neither of us liked our pizza and we hadn't been again since. 10 years... If you are familiar with the original Boro location, then you know this (Old Hickory/Hermitage) spot is just a little bit off. We recently went back to the one in the Boro a few weeks ago and loved it so much we figured we'd give this location (literally a mile from our house) a try again. Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you see it), our pie was admittedly better than our first outing 10 years prior. BUT... having had the OG in the Boro so recently, we could tell a huge difference in the taste. For starters, the Boro's crust is nice and thin, quite crispy, and has a great 'munch' and crackle to the mouthfeel. The Old Hickory location has a very much thicker dough base that when cooked, turns out rather fluffy (despite still being a relatively thin crust... go figure), and when we bit into the center pieces of ours, some of the dough felt a little undercooked. The cheese and toppings are the same as the Boro, small minced meats and tiny pepperonis, just like it has always been. No issue there. The final and (in my opinion) worst offender of the slightly better, but still off, pie we had was the sauce. In comparison again to the OG Boro spot, Old Hickory's sauce was SUPER sweet. It tasted to me like whoever makes their particular batch of marinara adds WAY too much sugar to the recipe. Pizza sauce/marinara should not be sweet IMHO. I also echo the comments from another reviewer. We got a side of meatballs (don't do this), and it came with a little cup of marinara for dipping. It was, in fact, super chunky. I get that some people like this, but I've never cared for large chunks of tomatoes in my sauce. Just like the pizza sauce, their marinara, even with the chunks, was VERY sweet and quite off-putting to add to the meatballs to give them any semblance of flavor since the meatballs themselves were clearly just reheated, frozen, very small meatballs. Overall, the place made the pie quick, it was hot and fresh, and we had no complaints with the staff or customer service. Unfortunately, despite a better experience than a decade ago, we still didn't like this location's food and, since that's the only reason to go to a restaurant, we will just continue to frequent the OG Boro location when we're hanker'in for some Sir.
