Came here a couple years ago and was treated really poorly, heard people gossiping at the counter, unprofessional. After no one came up to us at the host counter we walked a bit further inside And a worker said "can we help you" in a rude way when my friend and I entered. It was as if we walked into the wrong place and they didn't know why were there. It was very unwelcoming. I asked for a table and they seemed irritated or shocked. I feel as though we were treated poorly because we were not dressed in expensive attire and because we were younger, perhaps they thought we couldn't afford their food. We just wanted to have a nice meal together. The food was okay but nothing to rave over and certainly was not worth it. We called ahead for a table, the lady on the phone told me that they are booked. She told us we can come and sit at the bar , first come first serve. We show up and the bar is mostly reserved by the owner, probably for his clients. The hostess was very rude. I told you on the phone it's first come first serve, yes but you didn't tell me that the owner reserved it all for his friends. Turn away a table for 4...bad business. We will never go back. Next time tell your customers that even if you get there at 5:00 when the restaurant opens, you likely won't get a spot at the bar UNLESS you know the owner. My family and I have been going to the little spot across the street for over a decade, and it was always consistently delicious. As of late, my fourth time in the new location has provided me with more inconsistencies. I loved the homey aspects of Sinatra's. That is something my family and I were able to expect out of the old little spot across the street; this is something that has not been recreated in the new spot. I came in from Florida for to celebrate my daughters Birthday, so I had many great memories of Sinatras so I picked that restaurant to bring six guests to celebrate. Several of us went early to have a drink at the bar and when we pulled up in back of the restaurant their were several men standing outside and I parked in a handicap which was blocked by a garbage bin but someone was nice enough to move it out of the way. Upon entering the restaurant there were 2 hosts standing at the podium who never said anything to us, so we started to the bar when an older gentleman said hello and we told him we had reservations and we were going to the bar. The bartender never said hello until we said hello and it just surprised me what a difference from the other Sinatras. We ordered our drinks and tried to make some conversation asking about the new restaurant but the person behind the bar had a personality that should not be in the front of the house, but then two men came in and they were greeted very friendly because they knew him. I left a $20.00 tip for 3 drinks which was never acknowledged with a thank you. After being seated our waiter introduced himself and we all had drinks and I explained that we would have a bottle of wine with dinner, so he explained the dinner features and I said we would order appetizers which we ordered 5 appetizers. Our appetizers did not even arrive yet and he came right back to see if we knew what we wanted for dinner. One of my guests asked what the rush was so after we all ordered I asked the waiter if he was going to bring out everything fast and he said no. The meal was great but we were not even done with dinner when a girl busser started taking dinner plates away from the guests and kept coming back while people were eating and I got up and asked her if there was another reservation at this table and what the rush was. That is so rude to take dinners while people are eating. I brought a cake which I reminded the server of. I paid the bill which was $364.86, I left a $100.00 tip and the waiter never came back to pick up the check presenter to thank everyone for coming and to say thank you for the tip. On the way out the 2 hosts were leaning on the podium and never said a word, but some man in the distance said thank you. I am a director of Restaurants in a Yacht Club in Florida and for such a beautiful restaurant it is a shame to have a dining experience like what my guests and I did feeling like we had to eat and run! read more

I have been to Sinatra's now twice and I will be going again this Friday. One of my favorite restaurants and I'm so mad at myself that it took me this long to go! What is wrong with me?! I am VERY picky with my Italian food. I compare all sauce to my grammy's! The thing I love the most about Sinatra's is their old school charm. I hope they do not lose that when they eventually move to their new location that they are building across the street. It's a small dimly lit restaurant. Lenny the bartender has been there for years and can make a good drink. We have had 2 different servers the 2 times we have been and both were very personable and very attentive. The first time I was there I had the braciole which was mind blowing good!! My husband had the chicken parm and said it was one of the best he ever had. Second time I had the chicken and eggplant parm dish. I can't remember the name, sorry... but it was amazing! I think the prices are reasonable for entrees considering how much food you get! I came here for a work dinner last night ( Wednesday) and the place was packed! The service was exceptional-from the super friendly bartender to our awesome waiter. I was very impressed. We started off with the seafood platter. It was a little too small to split between the 3 of us, but that was our fault for not asking about the size. I ordered the homemade gnocchi with braised beef special, per our waiter's recommendation. It was delicious! Sauce was great and the beef was cooked "melt in your mouth" perfectly. The other dishes were the layered eggplant and chicken (I tried this and I think it was the winner of the table ) and lamb chops. Dinners all came with a salad which had bleu cheese crumbles, vegetables and a house balsamic-y dressing. We split a piece or the cassata cake for desert and it was to die for. My vendor rep, who was visiting from California, texted his family to tell them that they all had to head to Buffalo to try this cake because it tasted identical to his grandmas long misplaced recipe. First of all, the new re model is beautiful. I love how they incorporated pieces from the old restaurant throughout, still giving it that warm Sinatra's feel. It's fresh and modern, but with traditional touches. We have been multiple times now and have always experienced amazing service. We normally eat at the bar which has very comfortable seats, lighting is perfect, and it's just a great environment overall. Last night, we had a party of 14 in the private room to celebrate my husband's birthday. The service was on point, we received our food and wine quickly and didn't have to ask for anything- not once. We felt completely taken care of in every way. Michael and Pamela Sinatra truly couldn't have been better hosts. The food was great and the portion sizes are huge! Barforama. If you want American Italian food (i.e. cream smothered, sauce covered mystery meat), then Sinatra's is for you. The ambiance is not warm, we felt unwelcome while standing for 10 minutes in the front entrance area while only two other tables in the restaurant were occupied. The wrong meal was brought to our table twice (oops, I'm sorry - that isn't what you ordered, right?). Are you kidding me? Maybe I'm spoiled as a New Yorker, maybe I just eat way too much amazing food. Maybe Buffalo sees something special here in a time passed by but not forgotten. But the food needs to actually be good, and the servers should be better than what I would expect at an Applebee's (though I've never actually been there). Oh - one more thing. After ranting and raving about this place over the past year and a half, my significant other finally took me here last night for a special occasion dinner. This place boasts fancy - expensive menu, luxurious cars in the parking lot, and even a sign upon entering the door "proper dress required". So let's mention the elephant in the room, this place needs a MAJOR face lift to match! I like this excerpt from Hungry A.'s review "The decor is anything BUT modern - however the food speaks for itself". Which I can agree with 100%. Personally, atmosphere is important to me when dining out. If I am getting dressed up to go out to dinner, I want to be in a place that warrants me getting dressed up. This reminded me of an old Italian Kitchen from the 60's. I would have felt more comfortable in shorts and t-shirt due to my surroundings (I may not let my boyfriend read this review, because he would completely disagree, since he appreciates the old Italian vibe). Moving on, everything else was top notch. Our server (I don't recall her name), was very informative and professional. Her manners were of what you would typically receive from a fine dining establishment. It was evident she knew exactly what she was talking about, down to precise pronunciation of every menu item and special she spoke of. We ordered a bottle of Malbec, and were served a bread basket to start off with. Accompanying the bread was butter and an olive sauce. I would have preferred oil, but that's just my opinion. We ordered the arancini for our appetizer, since this is all my boyfriend had been talking about. I have never tried arancini and I was impressed. I have read NUMEROUS reviews about the ever so famous, BMTF's Buffalo arancini, so I now want to try that to compare the two. I ordered the Pasta Romano, which was spaghetti, sausage, and banana peppers in a red sauce. It was HUGE and delicious. It could have used more banana peppers though. My other half ordered the chicken parm and eggplant parm entrée. They had a specific name for this, however I forgot (it is not listed on their online menu; it was on the specials list). From past experiences, he ordered this and loved it again. Not a great meal. Banana peppers were overwhelmed with blue cheese. Dinner salads each had 1 piece of celery, 1 cherry tomato, 1 slice of fresh mushroom, 2 slices of egg, so that was 1 whole egg between our 2 salads(LOL) over iceberg lettuce. We ordered two appetizer s. Calamari and beef capuchin. Both were good. The beef was very minimal and lettuce was gritty. The calamari was drenched in sauce and not much in substance. Osso Bucca was good. Tender, large and flavorful. The veal was not tender on the veal picatta. The veal Marsala was okay, but not great. Service was okay but not great. I had the lasagna with braciole. It was HELLA-awesome! I walked in the door for some food-to-go. The gentleman that took my order was extremely nice, and didn't hound me. He gave me a few minutes to look over the menu, and then he returned to ask if I had decided. I told him it all sounded good! He recommended the lasagna w/ pork braciole. I decided that if it tasted as good as he very distinctly described the taste, that I would be a fool not to try it. From the salad dressing, which was so good, I ate the chick peas and olives in it. And I hate both of them! And yet, it was still not enough to warn me of what I still had coming. I started on the lasagna. It was as if the rest of my body had to catch up with my mouth, which had made it to heaven prematurely! The marinara sauce had properly made its way over the entire 6" x 6" square. The top was a cheese, so good I didn't deserve it. Underneath, a layer of perfectly cooked lasagna noodles, then ricotta, and more noodles. It was a cover up! The pork braciole those layers were hiding was a thing of beauty. If I EVER get to eat pork that tender again, put me down, because I will die happy. The bottom layers were a repeat of my first layer's impressions, and I was certainly NOT disappointed! So I am just about on my way out the door, when the server says to me: "They say, we are not the best Italian restaurant in Buffalo, we are THE best restaurant in Buffalo." And if what I ate was just the tip of the iceberg, compared to the rest of the menu, then I have no doubts about it. As for the not-so-modern decor, as mentioned by a previous review . . . I loved it! I don't go to good Italian restaurants for bright lights and stereotypical wallpaper, with cheap drawings of the country of Italy, or commercially draped with a Italian flags, that undermine the sincerity that the cook in the kitchen OBVIOUSLY put into that food. The only reason I am giving sinatras any stars is because the food is clearly amazing. But - we went there for my fathers birthday this weekend. I understand it's a small restaurant and table turnover is important. But after spending quite a bit - apps, dinner, drinks and dessert for 7 people- we were ASKED TO LEAVE so they could seat the next table. However we thought the move was to New York City? Seating like cattle, bing, right next to the next diner. How about personal space. We took our mom for our annual holiday/her birthday dinner on the Friday after Christmas.We were a party of 7 and were seated in the side room.It was a roomy table but too large,couldn't have an intimate conversation plus the room was very noisy.In general no one at the table was wowed by the entree's.The shrimp and lobster scampi was over powered by the wine,it obviously wasn't cooked down and the veal Bolognese was heavy and bland.Service wasn't great .And although we were asked if we were celebrating anything and we said a birthday, but no further acknowledgment was made so why bother to ask.2 plates were barely eaten and not taken home but we were never asked at any point "how is everything".Just an overall disappointing experience.There are enough places to go that we don't need to go back. read more

I've been trying to get reservations for this restaurant for three years. This was definitely worth the wait. The arancini appetizer had a light crisp coating and they were filled with meaty goodness. Having ordered this dish in chain restaurants I forgot what the real deal Italian tasted like. The salad with crumbled cheese balsamic was fresh and crisp. My braciole was like I fell into a worm hole and landed in Italy. The portion was more than abundant and the sauce was simple but flavorful. My wife had the shrimp and lobster scampi. A very fresh take on scampi. This want hiding behind the sauce by any stretch of the imagination. All the flavors stood in their own. The atmosphere and service made this an enjoyable date both and we intend to return again soon. read more

For the price of the food, I honestly expected a lot better. $7 For House salad, the same salad I could have ordered at a cheap place like applebee's or bought at Wegman's for $2.50. And then $25 for lasagna? Unless you're putting gold flakes into it, it tastes like any normal lasagna. Nothing about this place seems special, the food is normal but they give it a special name and charge 200% more than what it costs if you make it yourself or go somewhere else to eat. My favorite Italian Red Sauce in Buffalo, NY! I usually do not order pasta with red sauce in restaurants. However, I will do so at Sinatra's. Im so disgusted from sat March 30th 2019. I had a party of 8 peopke and from the moment we was seated a lady was standing at the corner of the coat room watching the table.Not sure why .I never said anything to the party I watched her.As the waitress came and took the order and went over the menu. We starded with salad not 2 freaking minutes did this kid come over and say can I take this out the way.me saying excuse me it was just placed her 2 minutes ago.lord behold he comes back again thats when I asked for management. Did not make reservations on a Tuesday night with a party of 6 ....... asked to sit at bar area and he told us tables are reserved? 80 minutes later still waiting for a seat with plenty of open tables and he now tells us he doesn't have waiter service for the bar area! Wow! My boyfriend and I have been looking for a place to call "our" spot and last night we found it. The food was spectacular. I ordered the chicken parm which I can be pretty picky about, but it was perfect. It came with pasta so I had linguine with olive oil and garlic which was delicious. The calamari was served differently than you would get at most other restaurants. It wasn't breaded but it was made just right. The server, Dan, was very attentive and checked on us just enough times. He offered us more bread which I like so we don't have to ask! I have never had my glass of water filled more times! Their dessert was just perfectly sweet. I'm pretty sure they had homemade whip cream on the side because it was thicker than other places. I can say for sure we will be back and very soon! read more

Sinatra's has been my favorite restaurant for many years. Not only was the food outstanding but the staff was exceptional! I never had a bad meal there. Sadly, this is no longer true. I went there with a friend for a birthday celebration. We started out at the bar with a cocktail. Dan, Lenny's son did a great job making us feel welcomed and special. The new restaurant is stunning. Things went downhill quickly from there. We both ordered lasgana my fav. When it arrived the pasta was rubbery and the corner top layer crunchy, like it was baked without being covered by sauce. My friends briciole was very sparse. We mentioned this to our waitress and immediately David came over and proceeded to tell me it was the cheese that was crunchy and insisted I cut the lasagna in half to prove there was no "crunch". I am old enough to know the difference between cheese that is baked well done and pasta that has been baked dry. Had to beg to have water glass refilled even though David was replenishing nearby tables with water. When I asked if I might have more water he took pitcher in back( to refill I assumed) but never returned. We had to track down someone to get our waitress to get water refill. Whatever happened to the bus staff that was so attentive to your needs ?!? When the bill came our cocktail that was ordered at bar was $2.00 more at table. I was invited here by friends that told me great things about thie restaurant and it did not disappoint. The service from the time I was greeted at the bar as I waited for my guests to arrive was great. The bartender entertained my guests with the history of the restaurant and then we went to our table. So much fat made it so difficult to enjoy. My concern is how such a popular restaurant could even open the next day serving such poor quality. We ordered the grilled seafood appetizer special and two seafood entrée specials (penne lobster and the halibut). Everything was delicious! Anytime I have guests come in town this is the go-to spot for Italian. They have the best Italian food (Sauce, Meatballs etc...) I have ever had ANYWHERE. I travel for a living and any time we go to a place that has "The Best Italian food" I'm always left disappointed because I end up comparing it to Sinatra's. The Artichoke Francaise and Meatball with Ricotta- (when on special) are incredible starters that never leave anyone disappointed. The pork Braciole is the BEST meal I've ever had. This would have been served at the last supper if it was available. The pork is so tender it reminds you of when your mother slow cooks the pork in her pasta sauce for 8 hours. It cuts with a fork and the overall flavor is perfect! My wife always get the Chicken Milanese which is also perfectly prepared! Five of us were here tonight for a family birthday. Parking is a problem when they do not provide valets. The noise level is beyond painful. We could not hear each other talk. I had white wine as my cocktail. We ordered a bottle of red for dinner. The waiter attempted to serve it in the same glass. I had to ask for a fresh glass. Several of us ordered meals that included salad. No ground pepper was offered. When the water came to clear we asked if they have fresh ground pepper. We were told of course. When the entrees were served we had to ask for pepper. Our wine glasses were never refilled until my husband did so. When the bottle was empty the waiter picked it up to pour. My husband told him it was empty. He insisted on pouring the last drop into a glass. He also cleared wine glasses that still had some wine in them.
