Extremely reasonable on prices for manicure implements and excellent quality. I love Mundial products and this is the only place I can find them. Great company to deal with. I will always use this company for my implements and they also sharpen and repair their products. Completely satisfied! Kathy Maybee read more

My wife dropped off our kitchen knives to be sharpened including 2 Henckels, a Shun, a cutco cleaver and more importantly 2 heirloom knives that were my great grandfathers. Apparently the person at the shop explained that the method he uses would cause scratching on the blades. For that transparency I am grateful though I do not understand why a knife sharpening company would continue to use a method that damages knives so drastically. When we picked them up, the knives were sharp, but scratched beyond anything I've ever seen. It looks like a bench grinder was used to sharpen them. I spoke with someone at the shop who explained that all commercial knife sharpening companies do that and that it was normal which I don't believe is true. I have contacted the manufacturers of the knives in order to see if they can be repaired but most likely they and the heirlooms will remain permanently damaged. It was $600 worth of knives not counting the value of the heirlooms and the price for sharpening them was $49. Think twice before bringing valuable knives to be sharpened here. An article I started on a knife sharpening forum about whether this is normal https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/kitchen-knives-damaged-by-commercial-sharpener.1571937/#post-18011883 Alex, I appreciate you writing. The pictures should speak for themselves and give future customers an idea of what they will get when they bring knives to you to be sharpened. The manufacturers would have sharpened them properly for less than you charged so yes I made a mistake not sending these knives in to them. As I said before, I appreciate your transparency with my wife about the scratches. If I had been there I never would have let you do this. The knives are as sharp as i get my machetes with my bench grinder which is to say that yes they are sharp but the edges are no longer straight and I doubt they will stay sharp long. After doing research I discovered different companies use different tools and methods for a similar price. Maybe it's time to look into using a different method? I honestly can't believe you've been doing this to good knives for 50 years. read more

I'm so happy with my experience here, the only thing to do about it is to Yelp it from the mountaintops. I have some pretty nice chef's knives that had grown a bit dull over the years. Genius that I am, I knocked one against the countertop a few times while washing in the sink, and it had a few notches. After researching electric knife sharpeners: they were expensive, they take up a lot of space, and they don't do a good job taking out notches. Google directed me to Sin Rival, and I'm so glad it did. For $18, all three of my good kitchen knives got the boss treatment, and now could all split hairs. The shop is a little unassuming, and its neighbors can be a little scary if you're not used to hanging out in that part of town. (BTW, there's free parking in the back of the building--south side of the street, accessible from either side of the block.) But the guys inside are the nicest dudes, and they were all too happy to help me--and my knives--regain my edge in the kitchen. They even returned them to me in bubble wrap in a little cardboard box! Professionals! The only downside is that they needed 48-hour turnaround time. Eh. Small price to pay for the cut of a lifetime. You'd be foolish to go anywhere else for knife-sharpening. (They also have a full stock of used and new knives, plus barber's supplies.) read more

They warn you beforehand that their sharpening method may damage your knife a bit. No joke. They damaged my knives beyond repair. What's worse, they didn't even properly sharpen them. Now my knives are just as dull as before, and damaged as well. read more

One of my favorite family owned businesses. Service is great and the owners are always willing to share their knowledge about the products. They have great recommendations and they helped us with our Victorinox knives. I went in there thinking I needed 10 different knives, but it turns out I only really needed 5. Alex asked me about what I do in the kitchen and what I like to cook, etc.... and then he brought out the 5 basic knives that a starter cook like me would need. Definitley great service along with excellent products. Will definitley be back! read more

Small family owned store where they know their products. I took my straight razor which i had bought from them years ago to get sharpened, but instead of taking my money, i was given advice on how to strop it. They are definitely an honest establishment, though some should work on their customer service a bit. Having someone sitting in the corner giving you the evil eye is not very welcoming. Having worked in a small mom & pop before, i don't see the harm much, but retail is all about making a customer feel welcomed. Overall, this is a great place to go to when you need something cutlery or barber related. I will definitely continue to frequent this establishment. Checkout their website too! read more

It's something when your business can say "50 years running". Sin Rival Cutlery is a hell of a throwback- family run, simple layout, unbeatable prices. If a store has barbers coming in every few minutes to buy supplies, from blades to oil to new machines, you know you're in the right place if you're looking for bladed tools or just a simple sharpening of your preferred dinner knife. The staff is knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. Seriously, why go to another cutlery store when there's literally NO RIVAL for this place? You'd be a fool to do so. read more

Trying to be more ecologically responsible and to buy less "stuff", I had Sin Rival sharpen an old pair of pruners. They sharpened and even shipped them to me way sharper than when they were new. Cutting through my shrubbery like butter, I am now ready to put up Christmas lights. Thanks, Sin Rival! read more

Service was incredibly fast. I came in to sharpen two machetes and they managed to finish them both within 15 minutes! Additionally even though they normally would not do hedge clippers they checked my hedge clippers to see what they could do and managed to sharpen them. Now my blades have another 5 years worth of use to them and I wont have to buy new ones. Great pricing and fantastic can do attitudes. Definitely recommend going there if you need any sharpening done! read more

I go online to see if the store hours are on the web and to my surprise i find a fully functioning web site with product for sale. It was very informative and my need to get my implements sharpened led me to visit in person. There is was on West Flagler. Parking is and a gentleman quickly gets up to greet me. He sharpens my implements while i wait and i am happy to see that the products i need are the same low price in the store as they are on line! Good quality cuticle pushers by Daisy for only $2.99. Very nice. It was so refreshing to see this business move into the next generation of on line sales and social media. The service that they offer so necessary for those of us who have good quality cutlery and tools. I can buy the very best and feel confident that there will always be someone there when my things need maintenance. Thanks for staying current and for the speedy service.
