You know when you have something new & then you get it home & start using it & then you start having questions. Well...that sums everything up. Recently I went to Simutek because my IPhone was taking a long time to charge and appeared to not hold the charge. First off, I thought I had to go to an Apple Store to get service on my iPhone. Glad I could use a local business. Jack, who helped me was amazing. They checked my battery and found that it was still "good" but if I wanted to change it told me the price and offered to schedule an appointment. Then Jack asked if they could check the charging port. That was the issue! Jack saved me $ and provided an incredible customer service. Once again Team Simutek came to our rescue. Netgear (maker of the useless Orbi) tried to ransomed us (they wanted $399 to fix an issue that is their fault--basically self-assigned SSL built in on the router makes it impossible to browse these days, you will get constant "security" blocks on websites) and we needed a solution quickly. Rich and Boyd spent a long time with us creating a new router solution that will grow with our business--the UniFi UDR7. For about *less* than the ransom we would have paid to Netgear, we have a *much* better system. Always trust Simutek to be the most knowledgeable and helpful computer store out there! I cannot count the number of times in the last 17 years that the people at Simutek have saved my life. Today was the peak; in 23 hours they took my laptop that had been soaked by a full bottle of wine (long story), dried it out, cleaned it, and got it working again! They've also sold me and my parents high quality refurbished machines, helped me with weird problems I couldn't figure out, and so much more. I love how they don't assume you're stupid or don't know what you're doing and talk to you like you're intelligent, and they're very honest about value, pricing, and options--when I had the horrible butterfly keyboard in my 2017 Macbook Pro and it broke for the eleventy-billionth time, they straightforwardly told me it was not worth investing more money in such a piece of crap (I still feel like Apple owes me for that, tbh) and helped me select a replacement machine for a good price, and it's that same machine that I am now typing on, even with wine damage. This is also the place to go because they know Apple and they also know which third-party brands play best with Apple products, and they know when to advise you to stay in the Apple ecosystem and when Apple is just price gouging and you can do just fine with someone else's product. I have never had problems with any items I have purchased from Simutek. This is always my first stop with any Apple tech problems, and even the couple of times when problems I had were part of warranty or class action lawsuit stuff and Apple itself had to handle it in order for it to be free, it was still worth going through Simutek first, either because in some cases they can send stuff on to Apple for you or because they are just more pleasant people than folks at the Apple Store. The once or twice I've gone directly to Apple for problems instead, I've regretted it and wished I had gone with Simutek. Better people, better service, better turnaround time! read more

This place is always a win. I've been going over 5 years. Jackson helped me today, he is up to date and incredibly knowledgeable. So much better than the Genius Bar at an Apple store!! I learned more about the cutting edge of the M1 chip, how they lept light years ahead of Intel and I have been researching online for months! I am proud to be an Apple shareholder again! Very professional & empathetic staff! I was having some trouble with a laptop & they patiently gave me some suggestions to get a warranty issues solved. They were also very understanding about having to reschedule a drop-off & they didn't make me feel like I was being a bother because of it! They are also taking social distancing seriously. While I was waiting I saw employees and clients follow their guidelines to a T. Noticed some wiping down while I was there too so I felt alright having to wait for a couple of minutes for them to bring me my repaired laptop and sign for it. Yes Yes Yes!! Thank you!! I bought a MacBook Air in July and my cat spilled water on it and left a blemish on the screen. The Apple Store said my warranty would not cover the damage. I called three times- they all said the same despite my having the AppleCare extended warranty. I brought it in to Simutek- $299 and I got a decent external keyboard for my older MacBook Pro. Everything was fixed in a matter of days. I will never go to the Apple Store again. This place is amazing! read more

I am moved to write this review because today I had such an incredible experience at Simutek. Let me start by saying I am a long time customer and their great customer service keeps bringing me back. But today I had a WOW experience: I brought in my very old iMac because I've been having trouble with it and I worked with Jack in the repair department. I did not have to wait even a minute to be helped. Jack plugged in my computer and ran a quick diagnostic. He gave me four options: Do nothing (and continue to suffer!), upgrade the internal hardware, buy a refurbished computer, or buy a new one. He gave me the pros and cons and pricing for each. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and low pressure. And though he is in the repair department he turned out to be excellent salesman because I walked away placing an order for a brand new, super souped up computer! Jack walked me over to the sales desk, and the whole purchase was so fast and easy, and everyone was fantastic to work with. What a great staff! I am an Apple person. I have been using Macs for over 25 years. But I am no tech expert. While I can make my way around a Mac computer, I still need guidance. With a new purchase, there is always a learning curve. The customer service at Simutec was outstanding. There is no push to upsell or talk above the customer's head on techie things. It was a stress free experience which is rare when purchasing and learning about technology. I especially want to give a shout out to Rich for his help during the purchase and the time he took to share his expertise with me. My iPhone wouldn't charge. I thought it might mean a new phone. This was the fourth or fifth time at Simutek for me. They have solved or helped me with my issues and never charged me a dime. It turned out the charging aperture was full of liter which covered the contacts. They got it back charging like always. I almost had to twist their arm to pay for their service. The fee was $15! A lot less than having to buy a new one. You're in good hands there. read more

The only reason I'll give this place 1 star is a young kid named Jack who is excellent with customer service. He should be the manager. Sadly, the rest of the place doesn't know if they are coming or going. My computer has been there over a week, and I was told the part was ordered 5 days ago (last Thurs), however Apple told me it was not ordered until Saturday. So, no one will take responsibility for this and I am losing work and time due to their negligence and dishonesty, and no one has any idea when the part will even arrive. I called the manager this morning and he hung up on me in the middle of our conversation. I was also given (and paying for) a defective loaner computer and the whole experience is very stressful to say the least. I imagine eventually they will fix my computer but don't go here unless you are not depending on your computer for your livelihood. read more

Before I paid for my new Mac laptop from Simutek I heard lots of talk about getting help if I had problems. After I bought the computer, and had problems, I found that this help came with a steep price. Responding to the owner: Thank you for you're response Apple has been notified of this situation and is investigating your claims since they have not only the recorded calls between them and myself, but also the emails for the 2 confirmed appointments made for that same day (Monday January 4th at 3:00p, and 4:20p). Apple stated that you should have the proper equipment and training to do such if you are actually an accredited repair center for them. They are highly confused on why you or your staff could not complete the repair in house. Walked in after a phone call about spam & emails, & glitches - Guy plugd in his connections & asked questions & said it might be a while - sat & unwound and about 15-20 minutes he said he had completed most of the problems - only thing left was getting a new log-in code from Comcast/Xfinity at home. So I came through to Simutek with a very reasonable issue, that I'm sure anyone can relate to because I'm sure we've ALL done it, right? I um left my MacBook in the freezer. Much like my brain, my Mac was non-responsive and my heart was feeling just as cold as my internal processor probably was as well. However unlike my freezer, Simutek was a wonderful place for me to bring my computer. They were friendly and professional, non-judgmental (and honestly I was VERY worthy of judgment) and were a pleasure to work with as they walked me through my options and kept me informed. They cracked open my computer and fortunately there was no notable damage, thank the Lord. While I expected a big chunk of my savings being lost, I only paid for a reasonable diagnostics fee. My 2015 iMac was acting erratically, slow to respond, and the dreaded beachball kept showing up while the computer went into deep thought about the requested task. After multiple crashes and spending too much time in Disk Utility and Terminal I called Simutek. No appointment was necessary so I took the machine in Wednesday afternoon, described the problems with their friendly, professional staff and got a call soon after with results of the diagnostics. Yes, the Fusion Drive was having rotational problems so I had them replace it with an SSD. I received a text message Thursday, less than 24hrs later, that it was ready! The machine works perfectly and is cosmetically unblemished from the repair. And all at a very reasonable price. I can't recommend these guys highly enough! Knowledgeable, friendly staff, professional work, super fast turn-around, and reasonably priced. read more

I knew I had a simple problem with my laptop PC, but I was not able to get my PC to troubleshoot itself. I looked at several computer repair companies, called a few and went to Simutek. I found Jack, a technician, who answered all my questions clearly. I always ask what diagnosis and repair fees are in advance after reading many reviews of computer repair companies. I also ask what time period I'm looking at for both diagnosis and repairs. Pros; Honesty (I got clear answers to pricing and time estimates), excellent customer service, and good advice from another tech on a related issue. Cons; I didn't experience any, but my problem was very simple, YMMV. I was lucky that the diagnostic took care of my problem, so I have no additional repair fees to report on. read more

Short version: A 15-minute, 5-star experience, as Simutek rescued my gotta-have-it Macbook Pro and didn't charge me anything in the process. Long version: When my "use-it-every-day" 7-year old laptop refused to turn on, and typical fixes (such as the SMC reset) refused to work, I thought I was headed to a mandatory visit to the Apple Store. I dreaded a visit to the Apple Store: It's crowded, it's busy, and the first available appointment was several days away. Reviews by Yelpers made the alternate case -- try Simutek. I'm very happy I did. The store was busy, but not too busy. The cliental in the store were (ahem!) of a certain age, and staffers appeared to be answering questions patiently and completely. I did not have an appointment, but I and my machine were seen immediately. A full diagnostic is $69, but in my case, the tech tried the simple solution first (disconnect the battery -- not a typical user repair), and 10 minutes later, handed me back my laptop, no charge.
