Their spring rolls are amazing and the size of egg rolls. The other place closer to us charge twice as much for something that is so tiny. My girlfriend and I were in the area to pick up some beer for the weekend and she wanted to give them a try. I was unfamiliar with what was on the menu because it was my very first time ever in a Thai restaurant. But I love beef and broccoli Chinese food so I was looking for something similar but I don't remember the name of what I got. Anyways, we are both spicy hot people but we made a terrible mistake at this place. Instead of getting the Xtra hot like it is on the menu, we got it Xtra Xtra Xtra hot. When we got home and tried it, lord have mercy, I was beating on the top of my head and running through the house like my head was on fire. It was freaking HOT even though we have a high tolerance. But the food was pretty tasty and we were surprised about the size of the small soup. It's definitely worth the try. Just don't under estimate how spicy and hot their food is! read more

We got takeout again and sad to say it was not up to par this time with what we are used to from here. The pad thai I ordered was way too sweet for me. It was literally like a candy flavored undertones and it was medium plus!! I am used to more of a spicy sauce, not sweet. Will not be getting again. As for the hubby, he ordered the thai fried rice, also medium plus, but it was screaming hotttt!! So definitely not consistent with the heat level. He will probably get mild plus or medium next time. And they still don't have the chili sauce I love to get on the side. Such a bummer still. There aren't many good restaurants within 3 miles of Walled Lake, but this is one. It opened last November but we just recently became aware of it. The food is very good and very reasonably priced. It was late so we ate lightly but the Chicken Satay was delightful and fun. The Hot and Sour Soup was just right, though a little mild for my taste. The waiter was very attentive. The only negative was that the place was rather small and plain, but that wasn't too much of distraction. It's a new place in an area not generally known for welcoming new places. We are telling our friends about this delightful little place and are pretty sure that it will thrive. read more

I just moved to Wixom and am already obsessed with this place. I order takeout from here once a week now and have had at least 8 dishes. All amazing. Small place. Friendly people. I have mixed feelings on this place. I ordered crab rangoon and pad thai ($14) not a bad price. The crab rangoon was 5 for $5 and not worth it. It was mostly fried crab wontons, there was no creamyness whatsoever to the filling and there was hot oil left in the folds of the wonton. The pad thai was delicious but I don't think it was the first time that chicken has been cooked. I think I'll have to try them again before I write them off completely. read more

Although the food is very good, their customer service is not. Almost every time we place more than 2 orders, they screw up one of the orders. And this time, they accused us of not ordering correctly. I have a witness to what I ordered. She did not write it down correctly. And then when someone else, the person who's food was incorrect, went to pick up the order, it was still wrong, and dripping of soy sauce...she ordered shrimp fried rice!! I didn't have time to go to Novi or Brighton for some Thai food, so I decided to try Simply Thai for the first time. I called in my order and picked it up on my way home. Food was ready fast, and restaurant appeared clean. The food: I ordered Pad Thai and Basil fried rice. I noticed the Pad Thai had a weird Chemical smell to it. I was very hesitant to try it, but I did. It wasn't bad, but it definitely had a chemical aftertaste to it. As for the other dish, I ordered Basil fried rice but they gave me what looked like pepper steak. It had an odd flavor to it, but the beef was tender. I don't think I'll be going back there again. Agreed with previous reviews .. ordered the drunken noodles with no spice and it was hot ! Still good . Also had veggie delight with tofu and the portions are large . Was good , slightly salty for my taste . Prices were tax included too , both dishes were 18 even . Would order again for late night ( this side of town all Thai closes at 9) read more

Wow! We love Thai food, and go to different Thai places all around the metro area, but not anymore, because, this place is the BEST! The Pad Thai is the best Pad Thai. It's not dry and not to saucy, the peanuts are roasted and it is just so good. The peanut curry, OMG good so good. We've gone several times now, and we literally want to go every day! The portions are big, 2 adults would be satisfied and probably still have leftovers sharing one entree. Everyone should try this place, and if you like Thai food, you just found the new spizot!!! read more

I ordered here from door dash. The Flavor of Pad Tai was ok however I ordered it with tofu instead of chicken but I was very disappointed to find random pieces of chicken in the dish. It's okay, I guess. The restaurant is clean, the people are nice, the menu is pretty standard. That stuff all checks out just fine. Prices are reasonable, and the portion size isn't disappointing. So by all of those metrics, Simply Thai is pretty decent. The food, though, is mostly so-so. Chicken pad khing ordered hot was light on chicken, heavy on frozen vegetables*, and had maybe a couple of ginger slivers. Curry fried rice had almost no curry. Chicken gang garee was really the only bright spot, with some very potent curry. Sadly, though, it was light on both chicken and sauce. If I lived nearby and didn't feel like driving anywhere, Simply Thai would be fine. But if I didn't mind a driving a few minutes to Novi (Thai Basil, Siam Spicy) or Milford (Bangkok City) -- let alone Farmington Hills (Thai Peppers) or Waterford (Thai Legend, So Thai), I'd probably skip Simply Thai. *The owner asserts that I'm wrong about the vegetables being frozen. Admittedly, I'm basing that largely on the uniform cut and relatively muted flavor -- but I could be completely wrong about the source of the ingredients. read more

I came here with a friend. I ordered my usual, Pad Khing, and my friend ordered the Veggie Delight. We both got chicken and medium spice. Our food arrived and the portion was very large! My friend and I both ate the entire meal, the food was so delicious and fresh. We both could not stop eating and looking at the portion it was easily a 2 portion Thai meal at any other Thai place. I loved the brown sauce they used for my Pad Khing, it had the perfect mixture of ginger and spices. My friend loved her Veggie Delight. She said the vegetables were fresh and very tasty. We both felt the medium spice level was perfect with the correct amount of spice. We definitely could taste the spice. The Seafood Combination and duck hot plate dinner come served flaming- opa style. We did not get that, but another table near us got it and it looked pretty cool. I asked what it was and that is what I was told it was. This is my new favorite Thai place in the Metro Detroit area- and that is saying a lot! I go to every Thai placed that I am near. I would love to see a Simply Thai location closer to Livonia. I am trying to think of another reason to drive out to Wixom to eat again at Simply Thai. Simply Thai is simply the best Thai! read more

This is the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to, and I've been to a lot around the area and further from Novi.. The food is fresh, all the ingredients are fresh. The Spring rolls are enormous and packed with fresh veggies and come with a side of plum sauce. The lunch specials are huge and for $9, not too expensive either. They are big enough portions to share with a friend. I love the Peanut noodle with Tofu, the Fried rice, the Pad Almond, Pad Thai, and Pad See- Yu. I really believe anything you order will be good. If you love fresh ingredients, decent prices, and above all excellent Thai food, you need to go here. I hope they never go out of business! read more

Great place for lunch. Seems that every day they serve a different (and delicious) soup that comes with a lunch meal. I've had the Pad Thai and the Pineapple fried rice and both were delicious with enough to take leftovers home. A couple times the service was slower due to lunch crowd but never slow enough to complain about it. After ordering take out earlier this week I am adjusting my review from five stars to three. The quality of the food they are serving (at least in take out form) has slowly been declining since my original review. I ordered the same thing I always do and there were only trace amounts of chicken and vegetables amongst the sea of noodles. Portion size of the noodles has not changed (I can generally get three meals out of one take out order) but the amount of meat and vegetables is so minimal I may have just as well ordered plain noodles with the sauce. The broccoli in the peanut curry noodle dish I ordered was also very, very overcooked. The food is flavorful and plenty, just wish they would stick to a consistent amount of incredients. read more

Food is quite good, but definitely on the spicy side. If you're not a veteran of spicy foods, start mild and work your way up. Only two complaints are that the price seems a bit high, and that carry-out orders do tend to take longer than I'd like to be ready. But, given how tasty the food is, I'm more than willing to put up with those negatives. read more

I've ordered the chicken pad thai twice now and it's been just great. My boyfriend also ordered the sweet and sour chicken and though it's a bit different than you might expect, it was still fantastic. The staff is very nice and although I've never sat down to eat - always ordered pick up - I'm sure it's great as well. The orders are large (I eat the pad thai in three servings) and the boyfriend can eat the sweet and sour chicken in two servings. Everything is quick and delicious. They offer pick-up services which is great. If only they delivered! read more

I go there on a frequent basis! My favorite thai place that i have encounted ! The pad ped is a must try!! Although... the spice is never consistent ... which is very usual for thai restaurants. I placed an order here before I had to go into work. I ordered online & just assumed this was an authentic Thai place (big mistake; it is not.) Nothing wrong with an American-run business but my own personal preference is REAL Thai food, REAL Chinese, REAL Mexican, etc. So that was my first issue. Second issue is getting to the restaurant & being told they were out of pineapples (which is obviously necessary for pineapple fried rice.) I will say they did call, but me being constantly plagued by "donation" phone calls I didn't pick up. No voicemail was left & they didn't bother trying again. Once I found out the pineapple was missing from my dish, the lady at the counter proceeded to offer me the chicken fried rice they prepared instead. I was willing to take & pay for it if the price was lowered, but she said it would still be the $9.50 I would've paid for the pineapple fried rice. WTF! I can go to Benihana & get the same serving of chicken fried rice for $4.50. I politely told her never mind & she got an attitude about it & was obviously irritated. I left with no meal after wasting the 30 minutes I had to get dinner. Sorry but that extra $5 does make a difference to me! I'm not a millionaire; I'm working class paying my own bills. Oh well; it doesn't matter any way because I won't be back. Luckily I found a place nearby my job (Spicy Bangkok II) that served me with smiling faces & with the pineapples that were supposed to be incorporated in my dish. read more

This place is small, but gives it a kind of whole in the wall feel which I adore. The first time I came here, I ordered the curry noodle with beef. The second time was Thai fried rice. This is the only Thai place that offers different noodle choices depending on what you get. Oh. My. Goodness. The flavor is heavenly, the spice was juuuuuuust right, and the price is incredible for what you get. Even when they are super busy, the guy that's usually at the front is sure to at least greet you when you come in and assures you that he isn't ignoring you and he will get to you as quickly as possible. Now when I want Thai food on my lunch break, I always come here. Will definitely be back, maybe with some coworkers! read more

Sooooo DISAPOINTED in the food we ordered tonight. Our crab Ragoons and Spring rolls were so burnt. To the point they were black. Didn't even eat them. Went right in the garbage. Not sure why they would even box them up. Shows lack of quality for sure. Ordered three dishes... Pad Thai noodles were barely cooked, curry noodles which were soooo dry, and one other that was soooo salty. After barely eating we all felt Sooo sick. I would have called but we have zero intentions of ever returning. Guess we will b eating at Haangs from now on. read more

I have been eating there at least twice every wk since they opened but in the last 6 months the father has taken over the business and I have had 3 differ times that I get a carry out get home to find the order is wrong. The prices have gone up twice, ow the charge extra for using credit cards and the quality and serving size of food is inconsistent. Very disappointed. I won't be going back there again read more
