This is damn good Thai good. I am only giving it four stars because I have had better. Just not within several hundred miles. If you are craving Thai, this is definitely worth it! read more

All I can say is Yelp yuck!!! This place is awful. The food tastes like dishwater. Owner constanty yelling at waitstaff. Place gives me the creeps. Portions are small and owner is cheap. Too bad this one had potential. read more

Excellent, authentic Thai food, loved every second of it, just didn't love the aftermath, next time im going to put the spice level to 3, I was over confident and went to 5 and literally shot flames out of my ass read more

Love this place! Very consistent and authentic!!! My husband and I come here often - one of our favorite healthy but delicious places to eat in Oneonta! Be careful when ordering your level of spice. Especially in the winter! They get their peppers from Thailand so they are hotter depending on the season. read more

The food is 5/5, sooooo delicious. I feel like I'm in Thailand again but I'm giving 4/5 on here because the owner was alittle rude and looks like she needs a good spanking read more

This place just recently opened and was a bit slow getting out the food. The waitstaff tried to make up for it by being very attentive and constantly filling our water glasses. When the food did arrive it looked great and tasted delicious. Be fore warned that the food is spicy, they ask you how hot you want your food on a scale of 1-5 my friend ordered zero and she said hers was still spicy, I ordered a 3 and it was a little more heat then I was expecting. Overall though it was a good experience and I look forward to going back. read more

The food and service are very good. After spending a month in Thailand I was so excited to find authentic Thai Cuisine here in Oneonta. A relaxed atmosphere and easy to have a conversation. I recommend it. read more

My wife, my kid (17 month old) and I were in town for a visit. We asked for a Thai food place in town and were recommended to Simply Thai. We love to eat Thai food and always try to stop by a Thai place any time we are in a different town or city. It was 5 mins before 6pm that we had gone into the restaurant. We were seated within 2 minutes, which was nice, and we thought so far so good for a place that seemed to be busy. Once seated, we were not told that the waiter/waitress would be by soon; mind you we were not even offered water. After several eye contact attempts with the hostess/owner, nothing was happening. In the meantime @ 6:10pm there was a couple that was seated 3 tables from us and a group of 5 people @ a table next to us. @ 6:13pm, the couple got their water glasses filled, and the table of 5 got their water glasses filled @ 6:15pm. The waitress did not come to our table until 6:23pm. Although she was very apologetic, we were already to leave because in about another half hour it was going to be the little one's time for bed and he was not going to let us eat the food if it would have come in half an hour. But it didn't look like it was going to be coming for another hour and a half. On top of that, we were an hour away from home. Horrible service in our book. We don't want any special treatment just because we have a toddler. We just want to be served in the right order so that we could go home on time. Our opinion stay away, unless you are OK with waiting a half hour for someone to even acknowledge you; let alone bring you water. For Thai foods sake in general I hope this improves, but we're not going back. read more

First let me tell you i am a serious Thai food snob, I have experienced the best, and have literally been around the country to compare it too, and alast this place doesnt hold up. This place is not terrible, some things are really good, but what i usually get is pra ram long song, pineapple fried rice, and pad see ew. The pra ram long song, was edible but no hit, the pineapple fried rice was really good, and the pad see ew was good, I think the meat is either precooked or soaked in something because the texture is definitely not right read more

One of our favorite places to eat in Oneonta. The staff is always welcoming and attentive and the food is consistently excellent. Personal favorites are the Yellow Curry, Pad Thai and Pad Kratiem Prik Thai with pork. read more

The food was really great and I loved that you can pick your level of spicy for any dish. The best thing was how quick the food cane out. The staff is always on top of everything. It's a great option in an area that doesn't offer much diversity. read more

One of the best Thai places I have been to and I have been to quite a few. A lot of options on the menu and the ambiance is great. You can tell the food is cooked with quality and care and everything is bursting with flavor. The food does run a bit on the pricey side but it is worth paying for. They have you select how spicy you want your food on a scale of 1-5 and, I will give huge you a heads up that, things do run spicy here. I ordered my soup and fried rice as a "3" and my mouth was on fire! All worth it, though. read more

We love Thai food and we compare different Thai restaurants to our favorites in Washington DC. They usually don't measure up, but this one does! After a long day of driving, this meal was awesome! read more

The food here can be amazing and the prices are very decent. However, I must say they're inconsistent with their food when you order it to go and there have been times where I ordered level 1 spicy and it was the exact same as their level 4 spicy so I recommend even if you like spicy food, beware the number you choose. read more

The owner of this restaurant is so rude. I don't understand why people treat you so poorly as a customer. The food is great but the service and owner obviously doesn't not need my business. read more

My spouse and I went there for lunch a few weeks ago. I had soup, she had a stir fry dish, I noticed that the chicken pieces in the soup were exactly the same as that in her entree - pieces of overboiled chicken tossed into the dishes at the last minute, the chicken in the soup tasted exactly the same as the chicken in what was supposed to be a spicy sautee. My entree was a dish of beef and thin noodles with vegetables in a peanut sauce where each bit tasted exactly the same, like peanut sauce - basically the other ingredients had no flavor and very little texture at all. My wife's food was so unappetizing that she literally ate two bites and then sat there grimacing at it while I tried to finish mine - and the cook, waiter and manager all walked right by her without even asking if anything was wrong. When the waiter presented the bill and saw that she hadn't eaten anything he asked if she wanted to take it home, she said it didn't taste good at all and he didn't even ask if there was anything they could do. I went to a business lunch at Simply Thai when it first opened, and the food was tasty and interesting. Their logistics were a little messed up - it took them nearly an hour between serving the first of our party their meal and delivering the meal to the last member, it was strange to try and have lunch when meals were arriving about ten minutes apart so we each got to look at each other eat - but I figured they'd smooth that out as they got experience running the restaurant. They'd smoothed out the logistics, but somewhere along the way their cuisine suffered. The worst thing I could say about this restaurant is that a week before I'd had Thai food at a food court in Albany, NY, and that food blew Simply Thai's food away on all counts. If you're a sit-down restaurant and you're losing out to a food court then you need to improve. read more

When I travel to a new place and in the mood for Thai, I try Drunken Noodle and Tom Yum soup when they have them. This one has both. I sat down and ordered a cup of Tom Yum. Sorry to say, it's very off. Vegetables are stale and it lacks the authenticity and the kick. Worst of all, it's way way too salty. So salty that I told that to the waiter, who heard it, smiled and said nothing. He came back with the drunken noodle. Oh boy, this dish is even more salty than the soup! And the wide rice noodle was too hard to bite! It was stale as well. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. Couldn't finish either thing. A lady came over and ask how I was doing. I said fine but the food is way too salty! She didn't say a word and went away. Oh, really, why bother to ask then! I suspect the salt was there to cover something. read more

The food was perfectly adequate and the delivery was quick. After a long day of driving up to Oneonta and moving into a new apartment without eating all day, Thai seemed like the perfect fix, mixed reviews be damned. I enjoyed my tofu tom yum and drunken noodles with chicken. I asked for everything extra spicy and explained that I could handle it since I'm Indian. Mentioning this will work about half of the time. That got a laugh from the woman taking my order, but resulted in what I would rate 2/5 on a spice scale. I wouldn't usually get dessert with delivery, but I was interested in trying the taro pearls in coconut since I had never seen it before. I was not disappointed. Creamy with a touch of sweetness, it was a comforting end to the meal and one I will look out for at Thai restaurants in the future. Considering I live a few blocks away, I see a long (hopefully positive) future ahead of us. read more

Unassuming little restaurant with surprisingly good food... Our normal Oneanta place was closed so we decided to try this place. I'm glad we did! The spring rolls were quite tasty, the pad thai was very flavorful as was the yellow curry. I like spicy food but only ordered the yellow curry with a spice ranking of two (out of five). I'm glad I didn't get it much hotter, a five must just about melt the bowl! They have beer and wine available though we didn't avail ourselves of those. read more

Simply Great. Great Pad Thai..correctly prepared which is so nice after the crap they serve near Westhampton (prepackaged & dumped in a wok-I am pretty sure) . Great soups and spicy noodle dish (big fat noodles can't remember what it was). Massaman Curry also good. Went back since we were visiting ALl Star Village for baseball. Sad it is such a long drive for us! read more

Ordered take out last night and it was great. We ordered several different things and everything was freshly prepared and we really enjoyed it. 2 bowls of the coconut curry soup with shrimp and tofu, veggy fried rice, chicken pad thai, spring rolls, chicken satay, and salads...all for under 50 bucks. Cant beat it. Ordered and was ready in less than 20 minutes. Nice to have great thai in Oneonta! read more

On our way to Cortland, NY we stopped in Oneonta for dinner. Based on reviews of the place we decided to eat here. The service was fantastic. We were seated right away. For appetizers we started with the Tom Yum soup and Shrimp Tempura. With hints of lemon grass and mint the soup was wonderful. The batter for the shrimp was not too thick and the sweet and savory sauce accompanying the shrimp was wonderful. Then we had the Spicy Thai Basil (one with the rice noodles and the other with white rice). Both were truly scrumptious and eaten away in minutes. I would highly recommend the Thai Iced Coffee to anyone visiting here. The coffee is very strong but they put condensed milk in it along with ice. The resulting mixture is exquisite. Overall a wonderful find in a place we were least expecting a restaurant of this quality and caliber. I would love to try other dishes when we visit the restaurant again. I would also highly recommend making reservations because later in the night the restaurant got packed. read more

Nothing amazing but consistently tasty Thai food in a small, very limited upstate NY city. Love the reds in the decor and the service is nice. read more

The lowest of the low. Slop! Beware. Stopped by a year before and it was ok. Worst meal I've had in decades. The ingredients were super cheap. They take no pride in anything. Disinterested server. Owner sat on the phone and could have cared less. The drunken noodles seemed to be made with copious amounts of corn starch. The beef salad seemed tasted like it had corn syrup in it. The wine was so old we had to send it back. And to top it off the bathrooms smelled dirty. Sorry. I hate to give bad reviews but you really should walk across the street to the Yellow Deli. read more

This place is delicious! We even got some to go! They have the best calamari and their drunken noodle dish is amazing.

Used to be quite good a few years ago. Now it's disappointing and the food bears little resemblance to delicious Thai food.

A hair was in the food. Everybody make mistakes, and I didn't claim or reorder since it was late at night, and our small child with us was still hungry and needed my food right away. So I've chosen not to reorder. When the owner came to our table, I asked her to be careful in the future. Then she said I should have reordered the food and we heard no apology. She sounded such things happened often. When she came to our table again, I said she should apologize at least to show her sincerity. Then she began to argue with me for my not reordering the dish. Also she insisted she had apologized already. It could be my misunderstanding I didn't hear her apology, but I think the restaurant staffs shouldn't argue with their customers like that. We paid for the food with a hair as well, and left less tip because of her attitude. The waitresses are nice enough, but one young one was texting on her cell at the counter. It reminded me of a cheap Chinese food deli. They were also late to come to the table with menus and checks. The food was nothing very special. Just O.K. except a hair. One of our friend said she used to own a different type of restaurant at the same place and she also had an attitude then, too. They seem not to have much policy in what they cook & serve. The attitude from the owner ruined the whole experience. read more
