We ordered here for Mother's Day, and I was very pleased! The food was hot and tasty and the portions were a nice size. We ordered the appetizer sampler, and everything was fried, crispy deliciousness. The coconut shrimp and egg rolls were my favorite! The chicken pad Thai was a little sweet and loaded with chicken. The chicken was a smidge dry but it was still a good dish. My husband is picky about onions so he ordered their simply fried chicken. It literally was just fried chicken chunks with some sauce on the side. He was cool with that because at least it guaranteed no onions! My husband ordered a Thai iced coffee, but that didn't make the order. We aren't sure if that was the restaurant or the DoorDashers fault, but maybe we can try it next time- because there will be a next time for sure! Prices were reasonable too. My son was home from college for winter break, and wanted Thai food.  The Yelp reviews for Simply Thai seemed pretty great, so we gave them a shot. My son ordered beef pad thai and eggrolls (6 medium-sized rolls per order), and I ordered the Rama Noodles (chicken and broccoli with thick noodles and peanuty sauce).   My son wanted a lot of heat, but his paid thai had no heat whatsoever.  I, on the other hand, wanted ZERO heat - but ended up with a super spicy meal (just my opinion...I think regular buffalo wings are too spicy, so...). I only ate half of my meal, as I wasn't a huge fan of the spiciness of the dish or the taste of the noodles...but then again, I'm not real familiar with Thai food.  I did like the eggrolls though!   My son gave me some of his pad thai, which I thought was just okay.  It seemed sort of oily and did not have lot of flavor. Well I just came out from work as well as from Morton arboretum for my Walk as exercise. Anyways I looked on Google nearby around Lisle Illinois any inexpensive Thai restaurants this was actually farther but less expensive according to reviews. Other than that I discovered they had exotic dishes that go against conventional or traditional Thai cuisine. Their version of escargot is simmered in clay pots that they covered and cooked in a unique curry sauce instead of butter like in traditional French restaurant. And they had the option of having duck Curry and wanted something different than your traditional chicken beef or pork for curry. One thing I read in the menu is that they put pineapple slices which I'm not a big fan of in any dish next to raisins if it's going to be served as the main course. To me the main course should be savory and not sweet otherwise is it a dessert? Nevertheless it was delicious and savory not too spicy than most I guess they had control in regards of who their clientele is since Thai food is normally spicy and thai natives can actually tolerate the heat or spiciness more. Otherwise this was serendipity and I would probably come here again for their signature duck recipes they had another dish that I should have ordered called the basil duck which I will try or order next time when I dine in. It's not too expensive that's the other thing unless you're going to order the duck dishes or the escargot. Only other disappointment was despite that they had Thai iced tea I wish that the portions for the Thai iced tea were more but then again $2.95 it's pretty reasonable but I was expecting a little more sweet tea. I am never ordering or eating at this restaurant again. I have been a regular customer of Simply Thai Bistro in Wheaton and tonight a $16 dish (we ordered 5 dishes) was missing from our carry out order so I called after we unpacked everything and the manager/owner insisted that they packed all 5 dishes. I politely told her that there was only 1 bag and that we unpacked everything and I told her which dish was missing. She continued to insist that I must be wrong and that they packed all 5 dishes. I took a photo of everything we received and told her that I would drive back and show her the photo and that I was a regular customer who spends over $100 per order every 4 weeks and that I would not go to this amount of trouble to steal a beef and broccoli from her! I had to drive back to the restaurant and I still never got an apology. The replacement dish we were given had a lot less beef than usual (we order this dish often and we know how much is usually given, the difference was quite noticeable and we perceived that it was intentional). I understand that no business is perfect and all I expected was a simple apology and to receive what I paid for and to not be accused by the owner of lying and trying to steal something from her. Ridiculous. The owner of this business has a lot to learn about how to treat customers and how to resolve a mistake they make in such a way that leaves the customer feeling like they are valued and their business is appreciated. The rice noodles in the Pad See Ewe were quite overcooked tonight as well. Mush. Plenty of other restaurants in Wheaton to support. We won't be back. read more

Got delivery through GH. Food arrived piping hot! We got Tom Yum Noodle soup and Chicken Jasmine Rice Soup. Spice options are a scale of 0-5 and we chose 1 for both. Both were still pretty spicy. I actually bit into a green chili in the Tom Yum and it was NOT fun. The Rice Soup had way too many red pepper flakes. Everything was prefect except the heat. Will go back but order 0 next time. For comparison, we normally order Indian food medium spicy and felt that this 1 level was spicier than that! Still delicious and high quality! read more

I love this place .... most of the time. The food is fresh, flavorful and authentic. Their customer service needs a little work. I was in the other night and my dish came out way too spicy. I ordered it two stars and I couldn't eat it; I have a high tolerance for spicy food. The server shrugged and said that next time I should order it with no stars. I told her that I frequent the restaurant often and it was very heavy handed. She did not want to fix the dish, but did so after I insisted. The dish came back very quickly and it was obvious they just rinsed it off. She said they "adjusted it". I asked for a new one, which she complied but the chicken came back dry. We ordered from Simply Thai because our favorite Thai restaurant was closed that day. We got spring rolls, pad Thai and masaman curry. The spring rolls contained whole shrimp and they were pretty good. The pad Thai was ok but not the best we'd ever had. I was very disappointed by the masaman curry. It had pineapple, which surprised me, and I think that made it much too sweet. Instead of a nice balance between the coconut milk and heat, it just tasted like sugar. Our dine-in experience at the Simply Thai Bistro was excellent. The service was impeccable from keeping the water glasses filled to answering questions on the menu, The food was excellent across the board. We had the chicken satay and a sample platter for apps. The sample platter has quite a bit of food and a wide selection. It comes with four tasty sauces. I had chicken Pad Thai, nice thick noodle, super tasty. Wife had a shrimp and garlic thingy, which came with a ton of veggies and peppers. Sauce was a little salty. The Thai iced coffee was as good as It looked! For just over 60 bucks we have enough left over for a midnight snack and lunch tomorrow (if the kids dont find it before then). Super friendly service and the owners often come out to greet you during your meal. Had the Chicken Panang Curry ($12), Rama Noodles ($11), and a form of stir fried Pad See Ew noodles with vegetables. Panang Curry was a bit too watery in texture but the spices were enough to balance it out. Serving size was good enough to make one full plus have extra for take out. Recommend the medium spicy level. Rama Noodles are Pad See Ew noodles (a bit thicker) in a sweet-peanut-spicy sauce, much like what you might put in spring rolls. Serving size also very large. The taste is more catered towards non-Asians, but does not compromise too much. This is probably the best (in taste and value) Asian restaurant in Wheaton. So ditch the stingy rude service and watered down dog food of Mai Thai and give this place a shot! read more

Had a great introduction to Simply Thai Bistro tonight with the buffet held in honor of the restaurant's one month anniversary. I will need to stop back and update my review based on their normal menu, but we certainly enjoyed the buffet offerings, and we're delighted to again have this space filled by a Thai restaurant. The owner and staff are very warm and friendly. Most of the food we tasted at the buffet was delicious, especially the Panang Chicken. Based on that, I'm excited to try their Tom Kha soup next time we visit. I love that coconut-y goodness. Veggie tempura was addictive, as was a rice noodle dish that was out. The only thing I didn't enjoy in the buffet was the dumpling appetizer, but I never really care for those Thai-style (I'd much rather the chunkier, more indulgent junk food version at every Chinese take-out place). Service tonight was a little spotty, but that's to be expected on such a busy night, I think. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and I love the view into the kitchen upon entering the foyer. That would be very handy for take-out orders. My only constructive feedback is that I'd love to see them spruce up their bathrooms a bit (I don't think much changed with the bathrooms since the former occupant left, and without providing too many details, I'd say a new toilet seat and a deep clean of the floors is in order). read more

Cozy neighborhood Thai restaurant! After reading the review by fellow yelper Joe E. on 9/19/15, I decided to seek out this delicious new restaurant. This is one of those places that if you don't know it's there you will never find it. It's located in a small mini-mall just off of the train tracks. We went late on a Sunday morning and discovered another couple finishing up. Otherwise we were the only patrons in the restaurant until we left when another family walked in. It being Sunday I imagine that they had a slow start but I can imagine them getting busy for dinner hours, esp with take-out. We ordered the Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp which was very spicy and almost overpowering with fish sauce. It was still tasty though & had 7 shrimp in it for 3 people. Not bad although a bit pricey for $9.95. The Green Curry with Chicken was your typical Thai restaurant fare, and the Pad Thai with Pork was good. Overall I was impressed with the food. It was a good comfortable meal. The service was quick & fair. The food server was attentive & chatty. I would definitely stop back in when I'm in the neighborhood. But since there is no Lunch Special menu on the weekend I would probably avoid on Sat/Sun. read more

We had the best time here! Took a friend for his first thai food experience, and picked Simply Thai based on location, menu browsing, and yelp reviews/photos. I'm so glad we went!! The place is adorable, very well decorated, and has great natural light via the big window. The staff was very friendly; the owner came out and chatted a little, then gave us free pot stickers. I didnt say anything then, but while ordering dinner, I did mention being vegan. The waiter shortly returned with veggie rolls, in addition to the chicken-filled pot stickers :) I ordered the Pad Kee Mou with tofu, by recommendation, with eggplant...I think they forgot the eggplant? But it was still amazing! The dish was gorgeous and tasted fantastic. Fresh and flavorful. We got the mango sticky rice (my favorite restaurant sweet), and it did not disappoint at ALL! Was craving some Thai food, and let me tell you.. I definitely hit the spot with this place. A classy, yet casual place to dine in for Thai food. First of of all, you can bring your own wine bottles, which is always a nice start to some food and good conversations. My friends and I ordered a couple sample platters which consisted of a few of various appetizers (egg rolls, crab ragoons, pot stickers, crab in a bag & shrimp tempura). My oh my did we devour through these. They came with a wide selection of sauces which each had their unique spice level and flavors. For dinner, I ordered the evil jungle shrimp (comes with white rice). The shrimp:sauce:veggie ratio was perfect & the taste of everything was phenomenal! I highly recommend both of my orders. I would like to note that curry flavored things and shrimp dishes are usually not my favorite... So me LOVING my meal should say a lot.
