I'm concerned about potential future treatment and whether the owner and teachers will be supportive and approachable. Despite the administration's claim of a positive atmosphere, I haven't experienced this from the owner or had a positive attitude from her since the beginning of enrollment, when she wasn't welcoming at all when I arrived 10 minutes late to our initial evaluation meeting.

But in the dance community, it's fine to go solo. People are respectful and really respect dancing. I will say, this is the sort of environment where people are taking classes and coming here to practice, along with plenty of instructors dancing. So there's a lot of flair and showmanship. I was thinking, am I at Dancing With The Stars or what, lol!! Lot's and lot's of turns and endless turn patterns. Less musicality. That's what makes it not my style so much, but a lot of fun for others. The classes were about 1 hour each, organized, and gave you a taste of the different styles. The instructors told everyone where they teach so you could take more classes. As with anyplace, some leads are fantastic and easy to follow, and other leads are still learning and practicing how to lead, so it can be bumpy dancing with them. Especially if its a first time dancing together. Other leads were really smooth and easy and fun to follow. There's a full bar selling beer, wine, and mixed drinks. If you bring a water bottle, it must be empty and they will fill it with water for you. Or you can purchase bottled water. I had a pretty good time and danced several songs and learned Salsa on 2. Unfortunately, the experience I had at the front desk before the class was the opposite. I brought my sister with me as a guest as I've done since 2022. My membership allows me to bring guests, and I've done so before without any issues. However, the manager, Stacy, immediately accused us of sharing a membership. This was not true and was honestly embarrassing to be accused of in front of other people. My sister was asked to sign a liability waiver, which is completely understandable. She simply asked to read the waiver before signing it. When she asked if it could be printed so she could read it more easily, she was told that wasn't possible. When I tried to take a photo of the waiver on the screen so we could read it, I was accused of taking a picture of the staff and was told I needed to leave the gym. I've never had an experience like this at any other location since starting my membership years ago. At one point the manager became visibly angry, slamming items on the desk and aggressively pushing the check-in machine toward my sister. She was extremely aggressive and rude. I was also asked to prove that I hadn't taken photos of staff by showing my phone, which I did. Nothing inappropriate was found. The entire interaction was loud, confrontational, and very uncomfortable. I've been a member of LA Fitness for years and have never experienced anything like this at any location. I've never encountered such a lack of professionalism and display of aggression from a staff member before. Again, the yoga class with Kasturi was great and worth the drive, but the front desk interaction made the start of the visit extremely stressful and embarrassing. I hope management looks into how situations like this are handled in the future, because members shouldn't feel accused or publicly embarrassed when simply trying to check in with a guest.

She demanded to see my sister's phone, including her recently deleted photos, despite there being no photo of her taken. I tried to assure her that "No one wanted a picture of her on their phone" but she still insisted to see my sister's personal photo archives. Once my sister showed Stacy her photo long, both recent and deleted that's was when she was finally able to move past accusing my sister of taking her photo. The exchange became loud and tense, and items were being slammed on the desk during the interaction. It felt hostile and unnecessarily aggressive for what should have been a routine guest check-in. The yoga class itself was wonderful and worth the drive, but the front desk experience was embarrassing and uncomfortable enough that it overshadowed the visit. I hope management takes steps to ensure guests and members are treated with professionalism and respect.

The Olney Theatre…read more What an absolute gem of an institution nestled in Olney, Maryland. It's a shame it took me this long to discover such a local treasure. A couple of friends and I attended a performance of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable introduction to this wonderful theater. The Roberts Mainstage seats just over 400 patrons, creating an intimate atmosphere where every seat feels surprisingly close to the action. I purchased our tickets rather late, so we ended up in the last row of the mezzanine. Fortunately, the theater's thoughtful design meant we still had an excellent view of the stage. We could clearly see the actors' expressions, and their powerful vocals carried beautifully throughout the venue. The theater also offers an on-site concession counter with a selection of beverages, cocktails, and snacks. Although I didn't take advantage of it, I liked the option to preorder drinks for intermission and appreciated that beverages are permitted inside the theater during the performance. The production itself was outstanding. The set design, costumes, and musical performances were all beautifully executed. The talented cast delivered exceptional performances, supported by a small orchestra tucked into the pit that added richness and energy to the entire production. The entrance to the Roberts Mainstage is located off the rear parking lot, just a short walk from the parking area. There are a few outdoor tables and chairs, making it a pleasant place to relax before the show. Inside, the lobby is bright, welcoming, and well maintained, although it is relatively compact and can become crowded before sold-out performances and during intermission. The theater is accessible, with elevators and designated wheelchair seating. However, navigating the lobby during busy times could be challenging, so arriving a little early may make for a more relaxed experience. We attended a weekday matinee and had a wonderful afternoon. Between the quality of the production, the intimate setting, and the welcoming atmosphere, I can certainly see why Olney Theatre has earned such a loyal following. I look forward to returning for many of their upcoming performances throughout the year.

I made sure to get there early. They do have a lobby area with a few seats located near Roberts Mainstage. There is also an area where you can purchase snacks and drinks - I did not check to see what they had specifically as we had eaten elsewhere before the show. The tickets show a QR code and as we entered the theater, someone scanned our tickets. As we entered, I saw there were ushers available to guide us to our seats - so helpful. We sat in the Orchestra section and the seats were amazing. I liked that we were able to see the musicians play in front of the stage - at times they were part of the show as well (so cool). The musical was great. As each person sang, I heard their words clearly. It was a great performance overall and the local actors were excellent. Can't wait to go back to see another show in this theater.

Go closer to dusk to see him active * Restored natural meadows (great macro photography) * Examples of bee keeping, different types of gardening, etc. Lots to play / do / learn, or for us older folks, walking around and taking photos. A couple of notes: * hours on maps are for the venue, the grounds are actually open dawn-to-dusk * the hiking is pretty mild but there's a lot to see. * alltrails isn't accurate for many of the paths, but everything is really well signed (or grab the map from their own website) * if you're doing the full circuit of trails, wear those ankle-support shoes/boots - it might seem silly for the easy terrain, but the angle of the farm trails is "hard" in sneakers, and you'll appreciate that support.
