Captain Silly did a phenomenal job at my sons 4yr old birthday party in our backyard. Prompt, professional, respectful and adaptable are his hallmarks. He hits the trifecta of incorporating magic, sugar and pyrotechnics (talking about a match) that captivates the youngsters from the moment his 90min show starts. He adapts his acting to ensure everyone is included (even late comers) and really makes the birthday person feel extra-recognized and special. Captain - my son is still stoked from your show and attendees are sharing how much they enjoyed it as well as the fact that their kids are also still singing your praises. Congratulations on a job well done and continued best wishes with your business & endeavors. Highly recommended! read more

Hiring Captain Silly Bones for my four-year-old's birthday party was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I also based my decision off of his many glowing reviews on Yelp so I hope I can help others make a similar decision. He was professional, kind to my boys, incredibly talented and kept his word about keeping the kids absolutely glued to his performance the entire time. He doesn't just show up in character, he brings tattoos, a speaker for dancing, tons of goodies for a scavenger hunt (which turns into goodie bags for the kids), magic tricks and more. We had kids ranging from babies to about 8 years old and everyone loved it. Even the parents were sitting around and watching. I have a six-year-old boy too and both of my kids were enthralled. It's been a few days since the party and they both have asked me daily when he can come back. HIRE HIM! You AND your kids will love it. read more

Captain Silly Bones is really another level of entertainer above the rest! Pirate, comedian, magician, story teller, dj, purveyor of goodie bags, and all around bringer of joy and magic. He has such a kind soul and was great with the kids! Everyone at our party was absolutely amazed by him. We cannot express enough how magical he made the day for our 5 year old girl. We will 100percent ask him back in two years for our son's 5th birthday! Our daughter had the most amazing day! And all the parents got to relax and enjoy the show! Don't even hesitate or compare him to other magicians. He is one of a kind and absolutely worth it! read more

Thank you Captain Silly! He was amazing from the start. So warm with my boys asking a million questions while he was trying to setup everything. The endless amounts of self serve tattoo sessions kept the kids so busy and excited. Everyone had sleeves on each limb. Lol. The story telling, magic, and limbo was amazing. Each of the 17 kids was so drawn and Captain Silly didn't miss a beat with the kids ages 2.5-7! All the kids participated! Also his music playlist got the kids jamming! Seriously, I got so much compliments because the parents all got a break and he was so entertaining! Highly recommend!!! read more

Captain Silly Bones came and delivered! He had the kids riveted by his storytelling. He knew his audience and my son who was turning 6 and all of his kindergarten friends loved it as well as the parents! A couple parents at the party wanted his contact information so they could also hire him for future parties and I would highly recommend Captain Silly! Amazing and honestly the best party decision I made! Thank you so much for your professionalism and making my son so happy on his birthday! read more

Pirate Silly Bones was wonderful. He was easy to plan with. He showed up early to set up. He knew my kids names and was wonderful with all the kids. He brought countless tattoos, treasures and candy. He also provided goody bags. He created a schedule and kept the kids entertained the entire time-including a magic show and limbo contest. I also like that he emphasized that he was a nice pirate and encouraged the kids to say please and thank you by making them the magic words. My pirate loving four year old has the best time and I could just sit back and relax. He even followed up with gifts for my boys in the mail a few days after the party. We would highly recommend !!! read more

Captain Silly was amazing!!! We wanted to do something special for my son's 5th birthday and from the first conversation with Captain Silly, everything felt right. We had a small party and I know it's much harder to keep fewer kids entertained for so long. My son is 5 and we had kids even as young as 2 and 3. I thought for sure they were at some point going to get bored but he kept them entertained and laughing the entire time!! He even made my almost 3 year old daughter feel so special! The kids and adults enjoyed his show so much and we all had a blast!! My son couldn't stop smiling. Not only is he funny and so good at keeping everyone engaged SO well but he's also just seems like such a kind person! Thank you for making my son's 5th birthday so special!! read more

What can I say about Captain Silly Bones!! Our daughter who turned six this weekend saw Silly at a show last year and had not forgotten him since. When we asked what she wanted to do for her birthday, she immediately said she wanted to have him there! The kids had an absolutely wonderful time, and all of the parents were beyond impressed too with his show. He is engaging and enthusiastic. You can truly see the joy Silly gets from being a pirate magician! His customer service was stellar and I could not recommend him more. I imagine will be calling him again with our other girls as well! If you're looking for a pirate entertainment, party entertainer, or pirate magician, Captain Silly Bones is the man for the job! read more

Captain silly was truly above and beyond for my son's birthday! Our son was a little nervous before the party and Captain Silly took the time to have a quick phone call ahead of time to prep him for the day and tell him not to worry. He arrived early and was so professional. Most importantly the kids truly loved him, and my son felt so special and had a blast (in his own words, "the best day ever"). Captain Silly's show kept everyone entertained for almost two full hours... including the parents! I would highly recommend him for any occasion. read more

If you want to keep 18 six year old boys enthralled for nearly two hours, with dancing, screaming, laughing, magic, and all around fun -- you can't go wrong with Captain Silly Bones. The Captain braved some pretty ugly weather to make it to my son's sixth birthday party. About half-way thru the show ALL of the parents were downstairs watching the show, laughing and generally amazed with how well The Captain handled the kids... Tattoos, Magic Rings, Special Surprises and much more made the day extra special. The kids couldn't stop talking about it when their parents were picking up. Marc was a breeze to book, showed up about 40 minutes before the show (it was snowing), and left the performance area spotless! read more

Captain Silly Bones exceeded my expectations for my son's 5th birthday party and is worth every penny spent. He entertained a large group of kids for two solid hours, the kids absolutely loved it, and everyone had a great time. Most importantly, my son felt very special had the best day, all thanks to the Captain's attention. We also loved that our daughter was also included in the celebration and got her own special gifts and attention. Thanks so much!! read more

Marc Schack, aka Captain Silly Bones rocks! He showed up early and got to know our two kids and was set up and ready before the first guest arrived. He gave the birthday girl special presents, and focused a lot of attention on her during his performance. He also was thoughtful enough to pay extra attention to her little brother. The kids watch a little magic, listened to a story, played limbo and had a great time. For the whole time he was here, the kids were focused and engaged. Even the adults enjoyed his performance (especially the story). The kids got goodie bags that filled up as the party progressed. Professional, high energy, managed the crowd very well, and the kids loved it. read more

Captain Silly Bones was awesome. (Thank you Tim for your YELP review--that's how I found him.) He ran the whole party for our 7 yr old son and about 25 guests. Everyone loved it. He is highly entertaining and high energy, but had total control in a very cool way that the kids responded to. Boy, girl, young, old (babies to adolescents) all felt involved and had fun. Our son is very reserved and NEVER likes to be the center of attention or participate. I clued the captain in ahead of time, and he was perfect. Our son joined in and shined (THERE'S the pirate magic!). I had Marc do everything including goody bags and it was the easiest party I've hosted. From initial contact through the delightful treat in the mail a few days after the party, all was smooth and very fun. read more

This guy is the real deal. My son was turning 5 and he and all of his friends had an unbelievable time! I would highly, highly recommend him for any event, even girls. His prices were very reasonable and made having a party at home so easy. read more

I signed up to Yelp to review Captian Sillybones, since we hired him based on the yelp reviews we read, I figured we should give back to the community. He came to our house in NW DC, arriving 20 minutes early (our nanny saw his car) but not coming in until the time we had agreed upon, which was helpful since we were finishing up organizing the house. He was amazing--super friendly and helpful. We had him for our daughter's 6 year old birthday party, with about 18 of her classmates + 5 siblings, and he managed extraordinarily well. WE had planned to serve the parents a glass of wine in another room so they could talk, but everyone wanted to see the show. he started with tattoos which kept arriving kids entertained, then started the show with a fifteen minute story that was pretty funny, then moved on to magic, then limbo contest, then had the kids "make" their own goody bags. My daughter is adventurous and had asked in advance if Captain Sillybones could saw her in half; he didn't have the equipment, but he did bring an arm guillotine. That trick, which involved chopping up a potato, carrots, but somehow not harming my daughters arm, enthralled even the adults. One other parent said "he was the best child performer at a birthday party he had ever seen" and my four year old daughter (whose birthday is in a week) said "Dad can I have captian sillybones also" (we've already booked a musician, so she'll have to wait 'till next year). I recommend him highly. read more

Marc is the life of the party! He had the children mesmerized. He has a gift with children. The only thing I had to do was have refreshments and food for our guests. I didn't have any children running around the house. He is a true professional! read more

I highly recommend Pirate Magic! Marc was incredible to work with and extremely accommodating. The kids had a wonderful time with him and they were engaged for the full show. I booked Marc for my son's fifth birthday based on the Yelp reviews and wasn't disappointed. My son is shy, so he was really happy that Captain Silly Bones was going to arrive early to get to know him. He was instantly comfortable in Captain Silly Bones' company and loved the arrival gift. Marc did his set up quickly and didn't need anything from the hosts. I was worried my apartment wouldn't be big enough, but he only needed one room - enough space for the kids (and parents) to sit and for his table. The show was fun for all - the 5-year olds, a few younger siblings and the parents. He made my son feel very special, asking his opinion, inviting him to 'do' the tricks etc. During the show, the children filled their own goodie bags. During food and cake, he facilitated where needed but also quietly packed up. A few days later, my son received a birthday card from Captain Silly Bones and a few more little gifts. I was so happy it went well. Other parents and children enjoyed it and I think he got a few new commissions from this event. Most of all, my son 'loved it sooooo much' and I think it increased his standing in class at a new school! Anything I'd like done different? The only thing was that we agreed a price by email but there was no deposit and I ended up paying the fee while the guests were still milling around. I would prefer a system of paying a portion up front, and the rest within 3 days of service, so as not to be getting my check book out during the party. But this in no way detracts from the 5 stars. read more

I absolutely loved having Pirate Magic Host two of my daughter's parties. He was professional and kept the kids engaged. Worth the money.

Marc is amazing! I've never seen 5 year olds sit in their seat for an hour. The kids laughed non stop as did the adults. Marc is efficient, confirmed party, came a half hour early and was very reasonably priced. I will use him again and again!! I cannot say enough about Marc, my expectations were exceeded. read more

Captain Silly Bones was FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My six year old twins and their friends were thoroughly entertained. The children laughed and had a great time, he kept the attention of the children (25). The show was high energy and very funny! The magic show was great and so were the stories, the candy and the music! My children have already requested the same venue for next year, they LOVE Captain Silly Bones! Marc is very professional, courteous and really great with the kids. I would highly recommend Pirate Magic for a children's birthday party. read more

What a party! Mark was FABULOUS! He kept a group of 20 kids (ages 2 to 6) mesmerizied for 90 minutes. Quite a feat! He was engaging, fun, funny and put on an awesome show. I'm one of those people who only writes reviews if it is really good or really bad. In this case it is really good. Captain Silly Bones did our 8 year old's birthday party last weekend. I could not be more satisfied. He was always prompt to respond to questions over email. He arrived on time and did exactly as we had previously agreed to. He was able to keep 20 kids or so entertained for two hours which was very impressive. He had an excellent show and activities lined up. He has a guarantee that you don't pay until after the party and only if you are satisfied. I think that speaks for itself. Thanks Captain Silly Bones! read more

Our party this weekend was a great success thanks to Captain Silly Bones. Marc made the whole process simple from start to finish. This was a great relief to me, having worked with entertainers in the past that were less than professional. When he says he's cultivated best practices from years of experience, he means it. From the beginning he breaks the ice with the birthday boy/girl with a special present. He is then thoroughly engaging the entire 90 minute - as well as facilitating the remaining 30 minutes for pizza and cake. I had many parents comment on how long the performance was and how much fun their kids had. For reference, we had approx 36 kids in attendance for my son turning 6 and daughter turning 3. Both were equally entertained. Marc managed the large group beautifully. Also, he will not nickel and dime you, and goodie bags are included, making one less thing to worry about. Highly recommend for a stress-free experience - it was a party they will both remember. read more
