The doors open at 6:30pm and not a minute before. When you arrive, you're given your table number and you can begin eating at the buffet until the play starts around 8pm. Usually you feel so rushed at these dinner/shows but we had plenty of time. The food was very good and there were choices that should have made everyone happy. I cannot say enough good things about this performance!! We absolutely enjoyed it. None of us had ever been to a Murder Mystery before so we were ready for something new! The 2 Cast members were amazing! They kept us entertained and laughing the entire time! At the intermission, they have coffee/tea and desert at the same time. We appreciated this because you're always too full to eat desert with dinner but this gave everyone plenty of time to be ready for the delightful carrot cake they provided. The 2 Stars also stood around after the event to talk to everyone and take pictures! I highly, highly recommend this event! What made it even more special was that I was able to take my 15-year-old also! read more

We attended an Agatha Christie-inspired event. It was held in an industrial park building on the second floor and came with food. There was a buffet. After that, I have to say things went off the rails a bit. For a start, this is the first "theatre" that had no stage. Not a small stage, no stage at all. We found ourselves, a group of 30-40 people crammed into a large room on the second floor with barely any room in July with AC so weak it was never below 76F. Then the show began. I was expecting a curtain to rise and a stage to appear, but sadly all the story and acting was done between the tables. I will say the acting ranged from surprisingly good to the obviously inispired acting of the audience members who decided to join in. The story was comedic and easy to follow, with references to Sherlock Holmes and even Indiana Jones. Sadly the heat and the terrible location without a stage made it hard to enjoy when the cast is constantly moving around. If they get a proper venue, I am sure they do wonderful things, but this was more like a test run. That I paid for. read more

4 Stars. I've been here twice. The first time was for a improv-style comedy night, and the second time was for a magic show! I had a lot of fun both times. This place is affordable, casual, and makes a fun night out. They serve wine and and beer, and light snacks like chips, popcorn, and candy bars as well. They encourage audience participation so jump on in if you want to! There are restaurants nearby so you can make a full evening of dining out before or after the show. Check it out!! read more

Went to see Murder on the British Express last night with a group from our community and we thoroughly enjoy it! The actors were all excellent and the involvement of audience volunteers was hilarious. The buffet was a quite tasty. My child had the opportunity to perform with Stage Coach this summer and it was such a lovely experience! Ms. Torie and Ms. Linda were welcoming and made my child feel confident in the role. STAY AWAY. STAGECOACH'S INTEGRITY of CUSTOMER SERVICE LOWER THAN A SNAKE'S BELLY, I believe so! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WITH STAGECOACH AS I DID. Why? Sunday, July 25: Jerri, Business Owner, posted on Yelp to ask me to call her to "discuss" my negative reviews about their poor performance on the "Death of a Wizzard." show on July 24, 2021. We agreed that StageCoach would give me a partial refund of $100, and they offered us to attend their "traditional staged performances." in October 2021. Additionally, we agreed that I would ELABORATE their VENUE and FOOD QUALITY to balance their poor performance. She claimed she just got back from church and would take care of that on Monday. Monday, July 26: I received a SILENT RESPONSE - At 6:36 PM, I emailed Jerri to ask her an expected date to get my refund. Tuesday, July 27: I CONTINUED TO RECEIVE A SILENT RESPONSE AGAIN. Then, I called and left a voice mail message to follow up. Finally, Jerri emailed and denied all previous resolution agreements to resolve their deceptive advertising and poor dinner theather performance. Jerri stated that the public has already known StageCoach's performance as " It is worse than Show and Tell of a Kindergarten Class." by now to do otherwise. At the end of the Tuesday, I noticed her I would close out my complaints on Yelp, and StageCoach did not make any efforts to produce a win-win resolution to customers. Do you think it would make any sense if Jerri asked me to call her on Sunday, July 25, to listen to her that she would not have any resolutions to resolve my unfavorable reviews of StageCoach's poor performance? read more

We attended a play recently at Casanel Winery put on b the team at Stagecoach. The way they did our show, at least, involved limited audience participation (but people could defer). During the play, the actors were funny, engaging, and really did fed on the audience. I have seen some other simular plays, but nothing was as good as these folks. Definately worth the money. One note - the play did have an intermission and ran about 2 hours +, so if you are looking for something quick this isn't it. But that said, it engaged, it was funny, and in our view a very very good value. read more

I meant to write this review for a long time. My now teenage son has attended multiple camps and classes at this company through the years. The experiences have been nothing short of GREAT for him! Amazing teachers who give these kids a chance not just to perform but to see to what putting together a show means on many levels! Through these classes, my son has been able to find and nurture a passion that might or might not become something more as he grows up. I had no idea what to expect really from StageCoach's interactive murder mystery dinner theater at Oatlands the other night. But holy cow it was SO good! The actors were very good and great at improvising on the spot in reaction to the audience. The director picks people out in the audience to read a few lines and interact with the characters. I was worried I might have to do something too crazy, but it's actually a lot of fun trying to act along with these professionals. It's not threatening or weird at all, it's just a good time! One major standout of the whole thing is the little person actor Scott Strasbaugh who actually played the dwarf Olaf in the film Zoolander. He's super excellent and interesting and compelling to watch act... he acts with the gravitas of a man twice his height! But he also takes it all in stride with some self-deprecating dwarf humor. Seems like a really nice guy and he was able to play his investigator part so convincingly. I won't spoil too much about the shows because the randomness of how other people in the audience around you react to things that are happening is what makes it all so good. The actors are not just acting around you (there's no stage), but they're sort of guiding you and facilitating the journey of the story that's happening. I absolutely recommend you try this at least once! read more

We decided to attend the Murder Mystery put on by StageCoach at the Effingham Winery. To be fair, the three actors played their parts well, including some witty ad libbing. Five suspects were chosen ahead of time from the audience and given a script. Our complaints are: - It was WAAAAAAAY too long. 2 hours 15 minutes of slow, meaningless (in the sense it did not help to solve the case) dialogue, that seemingly was written by a third grader. - There were a lot of clues presented, but they had nothing to do with the outcome. There was no resolution at the end, except that most of the suspects died one-by-one in the last minute except two actors and an audience member, and then they announced the culprit. We were hoping to be challenged to solve a case, but this is more of a cheap, boring skit. - Most of the humor was over-the-top raunchy with every joke being about sex, the length of men's penises, the size of women's breasts, oral sex, etc. The remaining humor was cheesy puns about fish. read more

They cancelled our show 6 days before we were suppossed to perform. I was sick but was starting to feel better and would have been ready by new opening date. I had a Award winning Broadway Director attending along with 40 close friends and peers that wrre going to attend and worked tirelessly on my role for 5 months and spent $100 in tooks and more in gas to go to rehearsals and worked my butt off, for nothing! Even my high school Drama teacher, who was the influencer for me to know that i should follow my dream. And then stuff like this happens. They accused me of not being serious about this because it was taking me longer to get the 75 pages of lines down but when they cancelled, i had 100% memorization mastered. But the pain meds I waa on while i waa sick made me drowsy, so wheh i was working on my script one day, i dozed off and oversleot for a zoom rehearsal by 1 hour. They were unforgiving and didnt take into account that i was on medication. We still had 6 days before we were had to perform and they cancelled the show entirely. I was devastated. 25 peopke texted me the next day asking why they couldnt buy tickets. I was depressed for months. Ive been performing on stage for 35 years! Not serious enough???!!! read more

When I saw that there was a "Mystery Dinner Theater" show right here in Ashburn, I got very excited to take my son and grandkids for his birthday. We had attended one many years ago in Arlington and always wanted to go again. For $73pp, there were 2 adults and 2 kids, 12& 11, so almost $300. To say that it was underwhelming would be an understatement. The dinner was described as "catered" and sounded really nice. The "new venue" was a meeting room with harsh lighting and classroom style seating. There were only 2 actors and for two hours, only minimal music or effects. The food was buffet style (served in aluminum pans) with plastic plates and utensils. For $72pp, we were charged for water and soft drinks separately, dessert was a large pan cake that we had to serve ourselves. All that would have still been bearable, but the content was cheesy, crass and inappropriate, especially for my grandkids. There should be an age appropriate warning. The two women did their best to hold the show, but got audience participants to read many parts, many which contained very bawdy and cheap humor, even embarrassing the participants. Since this was a community event, I was expecting more class and a more substantiative performance. I have paid less for tickets to the Kennedy Center, where we can grab a pre theater bite at the local cafes or restaurants. This was not a good experience and I will not recommend it for anyone looking for a nice evening out with some decent entertainment. It was advertised in the Washington Post, so I thought it would have something really special to offer. read more

After about a year of hearing my (adult) son and his GF rave about productions by this company, I finally had an opportunity to go to one of their shows. WONDERFUL. We saw the Valentines Cabaret. Great singers! Fun show! Loved it. The venue was nice (Leesburg Brewing Company) and made for an intimate show. Service there was good. But the food was hit or miss. (It did not take away from the show.) My only negative comment is that the act is continuous, and in such a small venue if you have to ... um... "go", it can be problematic. I was taught to never get up during a performance, to wait for a break in the show... there really was only intermission ( and I didn't have to go then! ). And if was to try to make a break for it, the only path without asking people to push in their chairs would have been right across the area where they were performing (one wants to call it a stage, but there wasn't an actual stage), so I would have been walking right through them! HOW RUDE. Luckily, I made it. They were awesome but they came back out for the curtain call I was like, "oh God please don't let them sing another song!" LOL! Anyway - all that is to say that you should make use of the time you get at intermission. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed the Fly Me to the Moon Valentine cabaret. We've seen other great Stage Coach shows at different venues, but this was our first at their new location in Ashburn. It's nice and cozy there. Singing was wonderful and the cast really made it a special Valentine event for my wife. The buffet dinner by Pure Perfection Catering was also very good with plenty to eat and nice desserts too. It:s so nice to have this right in the Ashburn/Loudoun County area. read more

This was my first time attending a Scared To Death production. The acting was smooth, the story was funny, and the actors and actresseses were very polished in their delivery. Jerri is an excellent Producer and Terri did some great writing. Really liked the acting of Scott Clayton-Olson and Jack Seeley. Looking forward to the Christmas Cabaret.
