My friends and I wanted to meet up and I suggested to do an escape room. I go online and find this place! I was thrilled and I booked a room and the process was simple and efficient. At the location, we we seated in a lounge with some small activities while they set up the room for us. Abbey gave us a quick run down of rules and how the game works. She put us in the room and started the timer. The music and ambience in the room was so realistic. However, I do not want to spoil it. The vibe in Room 213 was creepy with the music and furnishings that it gave me a spike of adrenaline! I took every little clue a bit too seriously and overworked it (typical me) to the sense where I had no idea what I was saying or doing! It was so much fun figuring out the puzzles. Ultimately, we didn't finish in time. Abbey said that we had two more puzzles left to solve and that we were close. This escape room (Room 213) didn't seem challenging on the website description, but I was totally wrong! Teamwork is key and doing it with a bunch of friends is a great way to spend time and be social! I highly recommend and I would definitely come here again and try out other rooms!

My company hosted a team outing here & we all had a blast! The space provided many opportunities for each of us to interact & bond with our colleagues outside of work. They accommodated our group of 12 after hours & even provided complimentary drinks & chips while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Our game master (whose name I can't remember) was awesome--she was so excited about the room she prepared for us & gave us more info on the inspiration behind the theme of the room AFTER we escaped of course. We escaped from room 213, the Paranormal Room, very fitting for Halloween. The puzzles were challenging & fun, you're allowed 60 minutes with 3 hints... we escaped using all of them with 6 minutes to spare. It was a great time, 10/10 would love to check out the different rooms they have.

AMAZING! One of my favorite escape rooms to date! After here about this escape room through Escape Room Arlington I had to try! So far I have done 8 Bit Escape, Maritime Mutiny, & Last Hope (I'm wondering whether I should do room 213, because of the scare factor). These rooms are amazingly designed (Maritime shocked me at how beautiful it was). The clues are wonderful, everything was seamlessly designed. Our game masters were great! If you loved this venue, I would recommend all of the Ravenchase Locations (Herndon, Arlington, & Richmond)

    Cousin escape room time!!

Super fun! We took teenagers, who loved it. The room we did was nicely themed, and customer service was great!

Ask the Community - Escape Room Herndon

Hi - do you have a room/game suitable for a group of 8/9 year olds? My daughter would really like to do an escape room for her birthday, but having done a few I know they can be tough. Thanks

We recommend games for players 10+, but have had many players younger do well. Our Maritime Mutiny room is the best one suited for new or young players. Please keep in mind we do require a parent in the room with any player 13 or under.

Hi - I wanted to host a birthday party for 6 girls at your place - but heard that there is no place to have the refreshments - I am wondering what other options you may have - cus the idea of having to grab kids and go is not appealing?

Thank you for your question. We have a lounge area that is used for meeting prior to the game. We have water in the mini-fridge here. However if you are looking for other food or drink, we recommend one of the restaurants next door (GreenFare,… Read more

It's best to register online versus on site to ensure you get to play. You can choose from 2 hours, 4 hours or all day play and prices vary during the week and weekend and duration. I recommend wearing comfortable clothes you can move easily in and sneakers! Your time starts after you log in at the kiosks. Staff will direct you. I would recommend grabbing a locker first if you need one because it tends to fill up fast (lockers are free). You definitely don't want to be lugging around a purse or have stuff holding you down. Create an account online after you pay online to expedite the check in process. We purchased our tickets a week in advance for a Saturday morning. Make sure to allot for plenty of time to park and arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time. Ours was 10am when they first opened. Staff was pretty efficient and orderly and they opened at 10 am sharp. Make sure to have your reservation code ready. They have two lines outside the venue. One for reservations and another line for walk ups. If you want to try as many rooms as possible on your one visit, you probably want to just try a room once. Although some rooms can become addicting and you will want to try multiple times like we did. You can see if there is a wait on the top right of the screen outside a room. It will state how many minutes are left. If you scanned in you can delete your log in if you don't want to wait. They also have various artwork which contains specific glyphs you can hunt for. Duel games which are outside the rooms where you can compete against one other person. I would have loved to have done the art scavenger hunt as well but we focused more on the rooms. Definitely click on the screen and read the hints and how to play before scanning to start your game. They have a place to order food (Victory brewing)and plenty of restrooms. Although we didn't order food or drink. If you get parched. They have water stations with cups. I think there is a way to pause your time is you're eating but i'm not sure how. Once your time is up, it will let you know when you try to scan the band it will say.

They give all sorts of discounts like GMU student and if you book your next escape room after completing one, you get a discount too. The Save the White House escape room was incredibly fun and interactive. The room is full of props and sounds that make the experience more life like. It's also very well designed and incorporates many aspects of Washington D.C. They have free parking on site and are located in the City of Fairfax.

Good and not so good…read more.. On the plus side, the staff was VERY pleasant and helpful. We were greeted with smiles, and all of our questions were answered. After a brief introduction and sharing of their rules, we were ushered into our room, The Cure, for the one-hour puzzle-solving session. That's where the not-so-good part starts. While this was my first visit to Bonds, I've done several, maybe six or seven (I think that's safe to say again) escape rooms before this one. Based on that experience, this was the most basic in terms of room setup and contents. Everything was well used and occasionally overused. Think beat up or threadbare. Combination locks are common in escape rooms, and this one had plenty. If memory serves, there were six or seven of them. It was irritating that some of the locks had their numbers rubbed off, making it difficult to enter the combination, even after we figured out what it should be. Another issue is their use of red herrings. We wasted too much of our hour trying to figure out how they contributed to the ultimate solution. A final issue is that some steps might be solved correctly without a clear indication that anything had changed. For example, you enter a code on a keypad on one side of the room, and a drawer opens somewhere else. If I do decide to try another Bond's escape room, I'll ask to see it first. It's one thing to configure a room to represent part of a hospital or medical laboratory, and another thing entirely to allow it to be so overused that what's left affects my enjoyment of the experience. And as a suggestion to Bond's, replacing a few of the combination locks, probably costing $10 each, would have made things a lot better.

I am beyond disgusted with the absolute lack of professionalism and basic decency shown by The Great Xcape. We had a confirmed birthday party scheduled for 12 elementary school-aged girls--a significant event planned well in advance. The level of negligence here is staggering: * The Reminders: In the days leading up to the party, I received multiple confirmation emails and text messages reminding us of our upcoming celebration. * The Reality: We arrived with 12 excited children to find a dark building and a padlocked set of doors. * The Betrayal: To send automated reminders for an event you have no intention of hosting is a level of incompetence that borders on fraudulent. They allowed us to coordinate transportation and guest lists, only to leave us standing on a sidewalk with a dozen heartbroken children and a party in total shambles. I had to call multiple times just to get someone to answer. When they finally did, I received a dismissive "I'm sorry." Nothing else. No explanation for why they sent reminders for a closed building. No accountability for the logistical nightmare they created. Do not trust this establishment with your business, your money, or your children's memories. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and clearly do not care about the families they serve.

The review for the catering was EXCEPTIONAL! VERY SATISFIED. I could not get the other review selections to work so I will also comment here on the team presentation and other aspects of the event We waited about 45 minutes to get into the event space. This was very unfortunate and embarassing. The presenter was late because of traffic. There should be someone to open the door for your customers at least 30 minutes before an event. We brought bagels and breakfast so we could have waited inside and networked until the presenter arrived. Very unprofessional. The presentation was good but it could have been great. These type presentations should be tailored to the specific customer needs and business. When I booked the event, someone should have asked me then what kind of business my company did. A little time before hand finding out the customer and adding a few things into that presentation would have made it more relevant because in many areas it was informative and fun. More interaction, ice breakers keeps an audience engaged. Proof slides, grammar and spell checking should always be done. So many misspellings in the slides makes it appear less professional. Our team did 2 escape rooms. The overall rooms were fun and we had a great time. And even more so after the food came and as said before the food from Mavianno's was delicious!!!
