The Lab has become his second home. I am SO SO thankful that he has found this community and art form. Breaking provides him with a creative outlet to be both competitive, and an expressive individual while maintaining an over all positive and supportive team outlook. He is no longer crushed by 'loosing'. He appreciates the skills of others and the teachers and older students both support and challenge him. His confidence, humility, physical strength, focus, patience, and empathy have grown enormously. As he is obsessed with break dancing he now has ways of connecting and learning about many other related topics. He has traveled to new cities to watch break dancing, he asks his uncle (my husband - a music producer) about the musical and cultural history of break beats. I also love that The Lab has exposed my nephew to teachers and mentors who externally are different from him (and our immediate family). He is meeting and learning from people of different ages, gender identies, races, creeds etc. Having a diversity of role models and teachers in your formative years is so important! Please keep doing what your doing 'The Lab'! Sincerely, A very appreciative Aunt P.S. It should be noted that The Lab has 29 "unrecommened" Yelp reviews, and they are ALL 5 starts.

After hearing of the institute threw several friends whose children attend, I decided to try a week of summer camp for my 6 year old which concluded in a showcase performance. I was absolutely impressed and more so appreciative to have finally found a dance home for my 3 kids! In the last 2 years we have enrolled in at least 4 of the local dance companies looking for a company within which my children can grown and develop REAL skills...not just jumping around for fun. PMDI proves to cultivate talent and drive as well as discipline and skill in a really fun and loving environment. The counselors are not only talented but genuinely care about the kids. I was pleased to find them all calling my daughter by name even though many did not instruct her age group. I have wanted and have now found a community where my kid feel like she is joining a family. It's a place where I know I will get an honest report of behavior as well as progress and talent. They teach discipline and life skills and Dance skills coupled with a love for the arts. its just great. And the test of any dance company, in my opinion, is how the oldest students carry themselves and the level of dance skill they exhibit. The oldest students (12-18) in the showcase demonstrated great command of isolations, choreography, strength and poise leaving me confident that my kids will graduate the company as dancers with audition and presentation and choreography skills not just dance skills. I'm happy!! very happy!

My daughter really enjoyed the dance lessons and the family atmosphere that exists there. I loved the big performance at the end of the season... of course I have the disc. Also, it's worth mentioning that Princess Mhoon is not only highly personable, but is also quite the professional and an incredible instructor. It's more than worth the money - with her extensive background, it's a steal! My younger daughter is next!

Now I have kiddos who keep asking whether we can go again. Just bought tickets to see the Snow Man and the Snow Dog show for the holidays and looking forward to it. Update: Snow Man and the Snow Dog was not loved by the kids (3 year old and 5 year old), personally I felt it was really boring too. High production value but just not captivating enough. My kid loved the original video but couldn't wait for the play to end.

Here is what you need to know: + Garage parking is free on Sundays + Tickets are sent electronically along with a helpful email and storybook pdf that helps prepare young children on what to expect when they go to the theatre + The theatre is truly intimate -- there is not a bad seat in the house (Trust me -- we were last row, on the side of the stage and still had a great view!) + Children's shows can be quite corny and cut corners when it terms to production value but not at Imagination Stage. I was really impressed by the quality of acting and the set of "Dory Fantasmagory." + They offer lots of free programming such as "Meet the Cast", family yoga, and a children's fashion show to go with the play. I went with a group of children ages 4 - 11 and they had everyone entertained. Seeing everyone's faces light up and laughing out loud has truly filled my cup of cuteness for the entire week. Thanks again Imagination Stage. Can't wait to visit again!

I happily came over and was greeted by a really kind lady at the front desk that I believe was one of the instructors. She asked what I was looking to get done, and had me sign in had me pay. She said because the hair was over shoulder length they charge a length fee of an additional $10. Which honestly, that is a very reasonable policy, and $21 is still cheaper than any hair salon ice been to. After a couple minutes handed me over to a student named Patricia. Patricia did a great job and was quick and skilled in her art. She offered a shampoo or for it to dry after as they spray it generously to cut, but I opted for neither as I was on my way home from work and planning to shower once I got home anyway. Definitely will be returning when I want something done with my hair as prices are reasonable, and the people seem friendly.

I was informed that they did but I'd need to come in for a quote/consultation. I went there this past Monday and waited at front desk for 5 mins or so. I decided to ask the person working 10 feet from me if there was anyone taking care of the desk. A woman a few stations down said that she'd be there in a few. When she finally got to me I asked for the price for braids. Was informed that they didn't do braids. I pointed to their price board that had a price for braids, was told that they only did short braids no extensions. If they are teaching students how to waste a (potential) client's time, this is the place to go.
