A bit pricey, but worth it! I've order three birthday cakes from Simply Sweets over the last 3 years and they have knocked it out of the park every time. If you know you want a very specific looking birthday cake, look no further, but also know you are going to be paying for the amazing talent that comes with it. The cakes were absolutely delicious as well! I am a very visual and artistic person though, so it was important to me that the cakes follow the theme of the parties and look right and I've never been disappointed! That being said, budget accordingly if you are going to be ordering a cake from here. At first I wanted a three tier cake for my daughter's birthday, but they quoted me over $300 and that wasn't in the budget. But they worked with me and we figured out I could get a beautiful 6 inch cake plus a dozen matching cupcakes for under $200 instead. Decided to check out this bake shop for my sons 3rd bday cake. I had a couple inspo pics and the cake came out just as I envisioned. So perfect and adorable. I felt like the price was a little steep, initially, but you get what you pay for and I could never make such a cake myself. These cakes take skill, time and effort. So, in my opinion it's worth every penny. I also go my husband a jumbo lemon poppy seed cupcake since his bday is the day after our son's. The lemon poppy cake and frosting is superb. I've used a different bakery for my daughter's birthday each year and have been disappointed with most but this bakery is the winner! I'm so happy and relieved to finally find a bakery with delicious cakes that aren't dry and have so much flavor and can do amazing art work! My daughter ordered the almond poppyseed for her main cake and then the chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting and vanilla condor with chocolate frosting for the party goers. When we went in to pick up the cake and cupcakes, I loved their ambiance and decor inside and they had such delicious and beautiful looking desserts in their case I actually wanted to buy more. I was disappointed with the Wedding cake that we purchased for our daughters special day. The cake was so sweet that I couldn't eat my piece. My husband said his piece was dry. It was a 3 tier cake strawberry, chocolate and champagne . The cake was so sweet you could not tell which one was strawberry and which one champagne . I refer to the cakes as the pink cakes. I returned most of the cake to the baker. She dismissed my complaint. This particular cake was the 3rd wedding cake that we purchased from them. They also baked my husbands 55th and 60th birthday cakes. We've been a customers for 10 years. They lost our business because of this incident. The cake baker/designer has a son a similar age and she always seems to know exactly what we want for birthday parties. "This year he's into Star Wars..." and she says "let me guess... baby Yoda?" We came here today to support during the pandemic. The pastries were amazing! Few weeks ago we bought a couple dozens of cupcakes and only lasted within minutes after bringing it to work. WAY overpriced and very poor quality! Unfortunately there's no zero star option. We ordered 24 simply vanilla cupcakes for an event of over 200 people. They were stale and had a weird unpleasant flavor. When I called the owner to see if she could at least refund half, she got defensive, argued-refused to be helpful. She was very condescending about "what our meaning of stale is." She even argued that without having the cupcakes to look at and inspect (lol) there's not much she can do (well the event was on Saturday and it's now Wednesday) There were at least 6 of us that didn't finish our cupcakes because they were not good at all. No one that had them that day liked them. It's disappointing that a place run by someone that has no customer service skills of any kind stays in business, when there were cupcakes brought to that event from several other bakeries that day that were way cheaper and better quality. read more

Simply divine is what they are! Simply Sweets made an awesome cake for my husband's retirement and as we all noticed, "I've never seen so many fighter pilots take a picture of a cake before." I needed a baby shower cake for July 24th so I reached out to the shop after reading the website that if the event was less then 2 weeks out, I needed to call vs ordering online. When I called the employee told me I needed to go online to request the order. I told her that the website said to call if less then 2 weeks out and she said, no I needed to fill out the form online. I did that and was contacted back via email by Jennifer. I told her that I wanted a 2 tier cake with an almond poppyseed cake with no fruit filling. I also said that I wanted the specific smoothed look with fresh flowers and I attached the shower invite for flower color reference. She sent me back a quote for $200 for a cake with no flower decorations on it. She let me know that I needed to call the shop to place the order. I called and let the employee know that I had an email quote. She looked up the email and proceeded to take my order for the cake. When I confirmed the flavor, I reiterated that we did not want fruit filling (the mommy to be doesn't like fruit filling on her cake which I had put in the email that the quote was based on). She then told me that there would be a 20% increase to remove the fruit filling. I was surprised because I was quoted a different price knowing that we didn't want the fruit filling. She said that Jennifer must have "missed that" in my email. I explained that it is actually cheaper for them to leave the fruit off. She said that the designer told her that they had to increase the price because it is now a "custom cake". I told her I wasn't comfortable paying more because I had an email quote. Finally after she checked with the designer 2 times, they said I didn't have to pay extra. She acted like she was doing me a favor or something. She also said that they did not have the option to put flowers on the cake unless they went out and bought the flowers and they would up charge for that too. I figured I could likely do that cheaper. With all of this said, the cake (though quite plain looking before I added the flowers and cake topper) tasted really good. I do feel like the price was pretty high for the lack of decor on it. My recommendation to future custom cake customers, make sure you are very detailed in what you want when getting your quote and get your quote in writing. My recommendation for the owner, educate the employees that they need to honor the quotes and also update the website on the process. If you are going to have the customer fill out the online form no matter what, remove the 2 week wording on the website as it is confusing. read more
