I went in to get my sim card which was inserted wrong and got stuck, removed. They told me it would be $45 IF they got it out. They proceeded to take my phone into the back and came out 25 minutes later saying there was nothing they could it and that it was stuck. I then went to T-Mobile where they got it out for me for free and truly were concerned with my situation. Simply Mac does not care about anything other than money and I have tried to support this business but I will not be returning. A majority of the staff is friendly and the owner (I assume) is professional, yet nonchalant and unfriendly. Save yourself some time and look into alternative shops before you decide to come here. read more

THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!!!!!! I took my laptop here for a battery replacement and they didn't have the part. Fine. I was told they would order it and to come back in a week. I asked if I should leave my laptop with them while we wait and I was instructed not to do so. Fine. I come back in a week, I'm told the manager who orders parts was on vacation last week and just returned on Tuesday, and that I would have to wait another week. Fine. I wait another week. I call just to be told that not only will it be another week, but that things would've been Expedited had I left my laptop at the store. THEY HAVE NO ACTUAL CLUE ON WHEN THE PART WILL ARRIVE. I had an appointment here 4/2/17 for 5:00 p.m. My appointment was made for me by a senior accountant with AppleCare. I must say she was the absolute best! She assured me that AppleCare would cover the cost to fix the home button and gave me a case number that the store should use. She initially was going to send me to Birmingham but I opted to stay local. What a waste of time! The guy who was to handle my appointment clearly did not want to assist me. First thing he did was try to figure out all the reasons why he couldn't work on the phone. Once I told him that the screen was fixed by a third party over a year ago he proceeded to tell me that Apple would not take care of it. I only went to a third party because I could never get Simply Mac to answer the phone! Anyway, he never gave me the opportunity to tell him my case number or name for that matter. He was not interested in assisting me. His only agenda was to tell me no. I saw the poor reviews on Yelp and should have stayed away. AppleCare could not believe that I was not serviced at Simply Mac. She asked if he asked for my case number, I told her no. She stated that if he had he would have seen the override code showing that Apple was covering the costs. She made me another appointment in Birmingham and assured me my experience will be better. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE TO THIS STORE. YOUR TIME IS TOO VALUABLE. The drive to Birmingham is worth it. read more

For reasons unknown, all associates are always too busy to pick up the phone, even after calling twice or three times in a row, while waiting up to five minutes in between. I wasted a total of 45 minutes over the phone now regarding a computer I dropped off last week. Customer service is lacking and they do not make you feel welcome. Other times, everything is too lax, making it too casual of an atmosphere and you cannot feel the professionalism. I am also starting to doubt the technician's work. I brought my laptop here months ago to get a firmware update due to a recall; it ended up slowing my computer down to a point I couldn't even start programs properly. My boyfriend took his to the Apple store in Birmingham for the same issue and fix, and his had no problems. We both have the same exact computer, the only difference being mine had a larger hard drive capacity. Nobody has returned my calls even though I left voicemails, and nobody has emailed or called me in regards to updates on how my computer is coming along. The manager told me that my computer should be ready in a week, and when I called them, they said it won't be ready for another 7-10 days. I was floored. I asked if my computer has even been worked on, and he said yes. Honestly, I doubt it, seeing as customer service being sub par, and nobody is there to run the store properly. read more

My four year old MacBook Pro had a bad hard drive. Rickey and Kevin were awesome. I drove 90 minutes to get their help bc nobody in Dothan knew anything about macs. Rickey was very patient and literally spent days trying to salable whatever data he could. Totally worth driving back and forth. Anyone complaining probably shouldn't be buying Apple products, or they need to invest in Apple care. These guys know their stuff and every staff member was friendly. read more

My iPad mini wouldn't charge and eventually went totally dead. Brought it to this store to replace the battery. They wouldn't replace the battery since they "have to be able to boot it up to do diagnostics". Say what? The iPad won't turn on because the battery is totally dead! Melissa, the manager, was fantastic; she was polite, funny, and most importantly helped me fix my MacBook Pro. I had just gotten back from the Apple Store in Birmingham where they told me my hard hard drive was dead and there was nothing they could do, but she revived it, saving me over $500!! Went to get an iPhone 7 sent back to Apple because it's having that problem all 7's have where they go from No Service to LTE. I was fourth in line, and the four people in front of me were turned away, so I didn't expect much when it was my turn. The rep told me that she couldn't send the phone back because at that present time, it was working. She told me to go to Birmingham to to REAL Apple store to get it fixed. I don't think she wanted to do anything that day. Also, as soon as I got 5 miles away, the phone stopped working again. I went there last weekend and they were great. I did not have to wait long and the service was awesome. I purchased an Apple Pencil and a keyboard for my iPad Pro. They were very helpful. They had places to sit down. The customer representatives would come and sit by each customer and discuss their needs and let them try out products they also were very helpful to some of the older customers just trying to back up their pictures and data. They were very patient with everyone in the store. I would say it is one of the better experiences I have had. read more

I need to let you know that the Simply Mac store in Montgomery which is an Apple specialist has a very poor policy regarding Apple products they do not have in stock. I needed a new battery and they told me that they didn't have one and that it would be 5 to 7 days before the battery would arrive. In a pandemic where most of us are still working from home, these people expected me to leave my computer at the store for a week sitting on a shelf while they ordered and then shipped the battery. I told them that I am happy to pay for it all now and then come back when the battery comes in. I'm at an Airbnb 7 minutes from there and they told me no. It is illogical and extremely poor customer service to expect people who are working from home on their own computers to leave their computers in a store sitting on shelf doing nothing while the product is shipped to the store. The response was that it is their policy, but even the dumbest people in the world can recognize the need to alter a policy in a pandemic when it adversely effects their customers. Geez! read more

Be careful! My college age daughter took her MacBook in to see if her issue was covered under Apple Care. The technician took her computer to the back and returned saying the internal components had liquid damage and it was not covered under Apple Care. The price quoted was over $800 to fix it. We made an appointment with the Apple Store in Birmingham, they sent it off, and within 4 days it was repaired, shipped, and received by her. The cost was $0 because it was covered under Apple Care! Her battery and keyboard component were replaced, and it works fine. Always get a second opinion. read more

I've been calling them all day to check on a new battery that was ordered for my IPhone 6, cannot get an answer. I chose 2 for service, it rings then answering machine says that it is full and cannot take anymore message. So then I call back and chose 3 and it rings forever, then I get an answering machine message that gives me a number that doesn't match the number I dialed. This is my 7th or 8th time calling today, I realize they have customer but someone needs to take a few minutes to answer the phone, I bet you're they're taking time to check their personal cell phones. read more

I visited Simply Mac in East Chase, Montgomery, Al on Sep 25 2017. My experience was disgusting and an absolute waste of time. It is an hour and 15 minute drive from my home and the same in return. I am ok with waiting 25 minutes for the 3 Sales people to deal with the 3 customers on-site when I arrived. The representative who approached me was initially attentive and courteous. After running diagnostics & finding that my lap top did have an issue, she asked if my laptop was a "Vintage Mac". Being unfamiliar with this term, I asked what the term means. She replied that if my computer was more than 4 or 5 years old that Mac considered it "Vintage" and did not stock parts for it & would not repair it. I said OK, let's check my laptop and see if it is indeed Vintage. She typed in the SN and left without a word. For 25+ minutes, I waited for her return. I worked on my iPad, took calls and texted on my IPhone while she occaisonally glanced at me from the back of the store. Finally, the individual who appeared to be in charge of the store asked if she could help me. I stated I was waiting to find out if my lap top was "Vintage". She said it was so I left. This store's service was rude, insulting, and worthless. Yes, I am old & not particularly Computer savvy. But, I came in as a person in need of help/information. I received neither. Because I believe in supporting businesses in the area, when the trackpad and keyboard on my Mac Book Air stopped working, I opted to try out Simply Mac. I dropped my laptop off to be repaired and the folks were very friendly. They said I should hear something within a day regarding what the next steps would be. I waited 2 days and didn't hear anything, so I called and left a voicemail. No response. I called again the next day and left a voice mail. Still no response. By day 3 of calling and still not getting a response, I left another voice mail and then called again and routed to the sales side. I inquired about my device to the sales team and they were very unfriendly reporting that they were very busy and expecting a phone call within a few days wasn't realistic. Finally the next day (day 5) I got a call saying that they needed to mail it into Apple and that I needed to back it up. I explained that I could not back it up because the mouse and keyboard didn't work and asked if they could. They told me that although it was under warranty, it would cost $99.00. I opted to pick my device up and make an apt with the Apple Store in Birmingham instead. My experience there was completely different. They helped me back up my files for free and shipped it out right then and there. I received it back 2 days later fixed and working in prime condition. Needless to say, I will never take my repairs to Simply Mac again. read more

Take your Apple products to the real Apple store in Birmingham! My Macbook Pro needed a new operating system after being damaged in a burglary. The guy at Simply Mac reassured me that he would retrieve my data and restore it after installing the new OS. He even quoted me prices for the OS and data restoration. When I called the next day to check on progress--since he did not call me, as he'd promised--he said they had wiped the disk, saving no data, and had not even started installing the OS yet. Poor communication at best. I will never go back there. read more

Not only was I extremely disappointed but also extremely annoyed due to how much of my time they wasted. I made an appointment via the Apple website, when I arrived they didn't know I had an appointment. I was coming in for an iPhone battery replacement which I had stated on the appointment. They checked my iPhone and said yes, I needed a new battery but would have to leave it with them for around two weeks, or wait a few weeks and come in again. I chose to wait. I came in again without an appointment to order a battery and they said I had to make an appointment. I told them that last time they didn't seem to get the message, so they squeezed me in and checked my phone again and ordered the battery. Stating that I didn't need to leave my phone now due to a policy change, but when the battery came in I would have to have my phone serviced within 24 hours or they would have to send the battery back. On Friday at 6:15pm, they call me to tell me they have my battery and the only appointments they have available are 7:40 that evening or 6:40 Saturday. Really? They found this out around 6pm on a Friday? I went in at 7:40, they said it would take till 8:20 to replace the battery, so I waited. At 8:15 they came out with my phone and said they had a problem, they replaced my battery but my phone wouldn't boot backup. Something must be wrong with the logic board in my phone. So they replaced the new battery with my old battery and the phone works fine except the battery is spent. How does my phone work with my old battery but not the new one? So they wasted another hour and part of a Friday evening of my time. I am not sure they even tried to replace my battery. They may have given it to someone else for all I know. I can't trust them. Do not recommend them under any circumstances, even though they're the only Apple service center in town. Go to another city, can't take any longer the Simply Mac. read more

My I-Phone 6 had been very hard to charge in recent weeks, because the charing plug did not fit securely into the charging port. I called Simply Mac and was told by the young man who answered the phone that day that this would be a major repair and might require replacing the phone. Therefore, I called Apple and scheduled a service visit to the Apple store in Birmingham for Sunday. Finding myself at Eastchase this morning, I stopped by Simply Mac to ask again whether they could fix the problem. The young man I first spoke with also indicated that a repair would involve opening the phone and might be difficult. However, he showed the phone to a technician. This young lady took my phone into the back room, came back in less than five minutes, and had fixed the problem. All that was wrong, she said, was that pocket lint had gotten into the port and clogged the connection. She didn't even charge me for the repair! Obviously, the level of service at Simply Mac depends on finding the right person to help, but I greatly appreciate being saved a trip to Birmingham and a potentially costly repair. (All the person on the Apple repair line could do was schedule an appointment, and I never even got to talk with anyone at the store in Birmingham.) Thanks, Simply Mac! read more

I went in on any ordinary day to see about getting a job there. When I walked in, I received no welcome of any sorts, with hesitance I asked if they were hiring. Dully, the guy behind the desk said no straight forward and without any thought into mind. Trying not to be rude, I browsed the shop for a few minutes. They have accessories that any Mac person would need, but for an iPad user, they lacked in iPad equipment, especially for the more desired items, such as more covers and stylus cases. On my way out however, I overheard a man talking to a woman about how a week ago, his wife was sold an iPad, told to have 3G on it, when it clearly did not. The woman repeated the obvious statement that the iPad did not have 3G and they didn't carry it in their own stores, with a bit of an attitude. The man was elderly and obviously was infuriated stating that they ripped his wife off, and the woman ROLLED HER EYES and said that she didn't know about the interaction. As an apple consumer and fan, I have dreamed to work in an Apple store, so to go in and see that kind of stupid attitude puts Peachmac at the bottom of my list. I'll waste my gas to go to best buy instead of getting this. read more
