Hidden gem in Mossy Head, FL! Right off the bat the staff is super friendly and the restaurant is quaint. The food was great. The pork was tender and smoky and had good amount of sauce. The onion rings were obviously hand made and crunchy fried goodness! The baked beans were good, but a little sweet for my taste. I will definitely be back to try more items off the menu. When it comes to BBQ, by leaps and bounds, this place is my favorite. I have never had bad anything from here. The price is more than fair and they run a good show. You order at the counter, grab a seat, and chat with the locals. In less than ten minutes - your food comes out piping hot. Outside of the epic BBQ, I love the fact that you can order an egg roll as a side. Pairs very nicely with the BBQ. Not sure what to get, I recommend a pulled pork sandwich. We drove past here late on a Saturday, and got a to-go order just in time before closing. They were pretty busy!!!! The bbq pork sandwiches are absolutely delicious... on large buns with a couple of pickle slices, and some of their delicious bbq sauce. I can understand why they sell it be the gallon! We got beans, slaw and fried okra... all delicious. Definitely the sauce was the star of the meal! This'll be a regular stop when passing on I-10 now. read more

this place is a 10/10 don't hesitate to go here! I got the Philly cheese steak sub and a side of the seasoned beans and when I tell you it was so good... that wasn't even the best part all of mine and my family's food came out hot and super fresh and fast! The staff there seem so wholesome and I am pretty sure almost every employee came to our table to check on us and see if we genuinely needed anything and asked if it was good enough.. IS IT GOOD ENOUGH!? I wanted some to go for later haha. I don't leave reviews on places but this one I needed to because wow just wow. Outstanding place. I would most definitely come back. Stood there for ten minutes waiting to be seated with no one in front of us. Not a peep from staff as they walked by and made eye contact multiple times. I'm not sure what all the hype is about over this little BBQ shack. Alvin and I decided to stop here on road trip after seeing all of great reviews. We were somewhat nervous when we pulled up and didn't see or smell any smoke/cooking going on at this country mom and pop shop, but opted to give it a go anyway. We both ordered the brisket sandwiches to-go, one with a side of potato salad and the other with baked beans. The potato salad tasted okay. The small amount of brisket on our sandwiches was sliced so thin we weren't even sure it was brisket, lol...plus, it was lukewarm. The sweet tea was strong but not sweet enough -- kind of like if you stirred sugar into cold unsweetened tea. The highlight of the meal was without a doubt the baked beans, which Alvin said was probably in the top 3 he's ever had. Prices were decent. Food wasn't terrible, but could have been a lot better. Staff was friendly enough. A return is unlikely namely because of location (we don't often road trip up the panhandle) and the BBQ, at least for us, doesn't warrant a return. read more

So my husband and I moved to Florida from Kansas and we love bbq. We decided to try this place today. We loved it! The lady taking our order was so sweet. And even told us that if we ordered something and didn't like it we could get something else. The restaurant was pretty cute. Lots of old timey decor. My husband got the pork sandwich with fries and baked beans and he loved it. I order the country fried steak with mashed potatoes instead of the rice that it comes with and potato salad. I like it but I don't like onion in potato salad or sweet relish but I ate it. The country fried steak and potatoes was phenomenal! My MIL ordered sweet and sour chicken tenders she said they were good but need rice or something with it. I thought the beans were way too sweet for me. THE ONION RINGS WERE FIRE!!! Ok, I hate to say this and maybe it's because I am from Texas but that was not the BBQ i expected from the other reviews. I really hate to give a mom and pop place 2 stars especially since they were sooooo friendly. But if there had not been sauce on the meat there would have been no moisture at all. I am just hoping that I hit on a bad day but nobody at our table enjoyed their meal. The prices were more than fair and like i said they were very friendly. Potato salad was sweeter than a usual mustard/mayonnaise style, and beans had a slight cinnamon flavor. Onion rings were homemade and French fries were very good. Two sandwich's, four sides and two teas were $18.80. This is as close to home cooking from a competent cook as you'll find, with nice atmosphere, nice people, and nice food. Tried this place for the first time the other day. I ordered dark meat BBQ chicken, green beans and a baked potato. The green beans had too much pepper, making them inedible. But good BBQ chicken, although I orders dark meat I received a leg and a breast. But that's ok still tasted good. Well cooked chicken. The skin was browned nicely not burned like I have had at other BBQ restaurants. The baked potato was good and served with LOTS of butter and sour cream.
