Strawberry crepes

Amazing breakfast!!! Everything is made from scratch so they are very accommodating. We tried an omelet, a crepe, and a biscuit. All was amazing with some special touches, such as real whipped cream for the crepe, seemingly homemade berry preserves for the biscuit. We were there at 8am on a Sunday and expected it to be crowded based on other reviews, but it was nearly empty. I'm sure it will get crowded later, and if you have to wait a bit, don't worry; it is worth it. We might even come back tomorrow. Update: we did come back the next day, and I added a picture of the strawberry crepes.

Rumchatta Banana French Toast, side of eggs with cheese, and side of crispy red potatoes

So, I'd probably give this place a 4.25 if I could but I tend to round up instead of down. We were in the area overnight and this was an easy drive from our hotel before getting on the road. Arrived around 11:30AM on a Saturday and the place was BUSY. I recommend reservations based on what I saw but my group of 3 was able to get seating at the bar, which has full menu service. Bartender was friendly and even made a little small talk which was nice. We didn't have drinks since we had a long drive ahead of us but all the drinks and flights being sent out looked delicious. The food was good. I had French Onion soup which was a little on the thick side and slightly saltier than it needed to be. Not bad enough to send back but I probably wouldn't order it again. The crispy red potatoes were yummy! Husband had the Rumchatta Banana French Toast which was delicious but could have been a little hotter. His side of eggs was perfect. Goddaughter enjoyed her stacked biscuits and gravy. Huge portion. Decent prices. The space was clean and decorated cute. We'd come back with a reservation if we lived in the area.

We visited Simply Crepes in Oberlin to celebrate my dad's 64th birthday, and overall, it was a really enjoyable experience for our entire family. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, including the bar staff, who took the time to interact with my three young kids. That level of friendliness really stood out and made us feel comfortable right away. Our server, Liam, was fantastic. We were a party of nine, and he was attentive, patient, cheerful, and very organized. He repeated orders to make sure everything was correct and kept checking in to ensure everyone was taken care of. He had great recommendations and maintained such a positive, calm energy throughout the meal. Truly a great server. The food was a big highlight. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and I loved that they have a kids' menu, which I didn't realize beforehand. The kids' options were simple but perfect; crepe pancakes, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, etc. I also appreciated that substitutions were allowed (we swapped fruit or potatoes for chicken nuggets), which made it easy for my kids to enjoy their meals. All three of my kids were happy. I ordered the Crème Brûlée Oatmeal, which is on their "Not to Miss" section, and wow . It was comforting, flavorful, not overly sweet, and absolutely worth ordering. I rarely order oatmeal when I eat out, but I'm so glad I did. The presentation was beautiful, and I loved that it came with a full strawberry instead of pre-sliced fruit. I also had the breakfast tacos, which were excellent. The crepe-style wrap worked surprisingly well, and the honey hot sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and heat, flavorful without being overpowering. Other dishes at the table looked amazing too, especially the grilled cheese with tomato bisque, which screamed comfort food and is definitely something I'll order next time. The burger also looked great. We ordered two boozy coffee flights, which unfortunately were the one miss for us. Even after stirring, they tasted watery and lacked the richness we expected. That's the main reason for the 4-star rating. I tried the Affogato (coffee dessert), and honestly, I'd come back just for that. Coffee, ice cream, nutella, chocolate... absolutely delicious. It's another "Not to Miss" item and perfect even as a dessert stop later in the evening. I also love that they're open until 8 PM, which makes that possible. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and family-friendly. The bathrooms were individual and clean, which I appreciated. The overall vibe is cozy and welcoming; great for families, brunch with friends, or even a casual solo visit. This is definitely now one of my top brunch spots in Raleigh, and I'll absolutely be back. Highly recommend checking it out.

Our second visit at simply crepes but the first visit was at the other location. During the first visit we tried the Thai curry crepe (chicken), chicken cordon bleu crepe and the poutine .. we were mind blown by the Thai curry crepe and the poutine it was super saucy and great portions. So we went back but tried the other location got the Thai curry crepe and the poutine again but and a chicken tarragon crepe ! While the taste of everything was on point, we were disappointed with the amount of sauce on the crepe (Thai curry) the chicken was dry and overcooked too while the poutine was a smaller portion in comparison with very limited sauce on it. We did ask for additional sauce that they did give but the kitchen seemed unhappy about it. Regardless we will be back but probably stick to the north Raleigh location The service is always great, quick and efficient love the vibe of the place too. They have a very interesting boozy coffee and drinks menu which I would love to try when I'm consuming alcohol again There's indoor as well as outdoor seating. We went at an off time it was still packed so I'd recommend reservations during the weekend at least.

Had reservations for Sunday brunch. We were seated quickly but waited almost 10 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. I ordered the build your own omelette with feta and three veggies. It came without any feta, which I had paid an extra $2 for. They offered to bring it on the side but I asked them to just take the $2 off my bill. Our waiter was friendly but not good at noticing empty beverages as they sat empty for a long time before we waved him down. When you're paying $4 for a soda or coffee you do expect it to be refilled. Husband ordered the breakfast crepe. Food was mediocre. Probably will not be back.

This was our first time here. Their menu has a lot of options. And let me tell you I wanted to eat everything that day. The kids enjoyed their meals! The Cubano sandwich was delicious! The RumChata French toast didn't like it to me. It was very sweet and I could only eat a little bit of it. My kids finished off the rest. Nice restaurant, friendly staff, and good service!

The Rugby Crepe

Vasile was our bartender at the location on Oberlin Rd. He was excellent at getting our drinks just right and answering any questions we had on the menu. My friends and I were very pleased with the drinks, food, atmosphere and staff. I had the Bananas and Creme crepes. My friends had the Thai Curry and The Rugby. Phenomenal meals. We're adding this to our tradition after workouts. Be sure to try the hot Vanilla Chai, it's comfort to the max.

Boozy Coffee flight

First time at this new location and the decor inside is so nice , looks much better than the other Raleigh location. The bar was spacious and clean. Me and my mom got the boozy coffee flights for $7 flight Fridays. The flights were good and the bartender did an excellent job with the presentation of each drink. Could've been more stronger but overall it was a good experience.

Kids Breakfast Plate
Bobbie C.

Ordered a kids breakfast plate today to go and the eggs taste like someone dumped a whole container of salt in them, I could not eat them at all. The sausage also seemed like it had sat out and was just reheated. I usually have a good experience here but this breakfast was so not worth my money at all.

RumChata Banana French Toast w/ Chicken (request honored by Dan in the Kitchen)
Christopher T.

Jessica was our server and was very attentive and personable. Dan honored my request to add chicken to my RumChata Banana French Toast (which was phenomenal, btw). My wife enjoyed her breakfast sandwich and described as high quality and hearty serving. Michelle brought our food out to us with a smile and present our order beautifully. I also want to say we found this place adorable (Christmas/festive at the time of our first visit)

Madame
Amanda Q.

Really nice place. You have table and bar options. The watermelon lemonade was fantastic. I got the madame breakfast crepe and it was phenomenal. The food came out pretty quickly but the poor server was alone so it took a minute to get the check but other than that he did great

Breakfast Tacos
Monica M.

Came here for brunch with a friend and I loved my boozy coffee, not too sweet, not too strong. The lavender mimosa was too sweet for my taste and I liked my breakfast tacos but I would've put their hot honey on the side i felt it was too much put on my tacos therefore making them very sweet. The dash of sriracha helped balance it out. My friend loved her french toast. Our server was very nice as well as the entire staff. The drink prices are great and the place was overall very aesthetically pleasing. Will definitely return for brunch drinks.

The only suggestions we would offer is know in advance that this is the top floor of The Stockroom. If there are 2 events scheduled, you'll be sharing the only elevator with the other venue. Loading and unloading prior and after the event can be a bit tricky. There is no designated area loading zone. When the door to the deck is open, it compromises the A/C and it can be a tad bit warm.

This isn't a space that you can just walk into (now that you know where it's located), rather it's a private venue space, charging $300/6 hours on Fridays and Saturdays with a $500 minimum bar tab and $100/6 hours Sunday-Thursday with a $300 minimum bar tab. The small space includes a New Orleans voodoo theme complete with voodoo dolls and bare breasted fortune tellers (in photos). Your party is invited to enjoy the velvet couches and hairs artfully placed around the room and has access to a private bar (and bartender). I love the back wall, with photo windows viewing Salisbury Street and a huge wooden bench seat. Rebecca and her husband Steve, the owners of The Big Easy, created this space to throw a rocking New Years Eve party, and they're inviting locals to use it during the year. Rebecca hired a fortune teller for our VIP night, but options are practically unlimited for what you want to bring in (bachelorette party strippers?!) The room is pricy to rent, but the intention is to get in a "classier" group of people that will keep the space up (however, there's definitely room for a dance party in the room, think old Bee Hive tightness). The best part: that VIP feeling as you are personally led up to the room by a manager, it was VERY speakeasy and secretive!

The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. There is a quiet serenity to the space, as if time slows just a little bit inside. The modern touch added to the old renovated mansion does come with a bit of a sharp, sterile elegance of a modern mansion. The Parlor is a great place to enjoy a delicious craft cocktail and even better, ADULTS ONLY! Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.
