Honey green tea with all my favorite toppings like aloe vera, grass jelly and basil seeds. My preferred sweetness level is on the lower end and the drink comes out just perfect. The ladies working there are so beautiful inside and out.
The are two sizes available and the large is just massive. As others have stated, it really is the "best bang for buck" deal out there. I've added an image for scale against a "buck" too =). I ordered the Roasted Almond Milk Tea as it comes standard (ice and sweetness). This had great reviews so I went this route and it did not disappoint. The flavoring was great and the ice was very modest (not jam packed like other spots). I didn't realize they also have a restaurant menu - I'll be sure to try it next time. There's a few benches and tables for guests to enjoy either a drink, food or both.
Came here after eating at Hue and it was very refreshing. The drinks were decent. Even with 75% sweetness, it was still pretty sweet. The quality of the boba was average, but not bad. Their service was quick.
This review is only for their special coconut drink. The best drink! I love their coconut drink with grass jelly, basil seeds, and coconut pieces. Ice cold for a good summer day.
Definitely one of our favorite Boba locations!!! Wide selection of delicious flavors and the ability to select your level of sweetness. It is often hard to find parking in the densely packed shopping center; however, it is worth it. Stop by and enjoy a cool and refreshing drink when it is time to cheat on your regular green healthy drinks.
Best Boba place ever hands down! They have a rewards system. Staff is friendly! I always order the lemonade with Boba! It is sooo good! You can also control the sugar percentage. I always get 50% and it's just perfect
This review is mostly for the food, but the boba drinks were really good also! My husband and I have been here a few times, and they have pretty consistent with the taste of their broth. We finish our entire bowls at each visit, so that tells me that the noodle soups are up to par. For the Bun Rieu, it's not like the homecooked version (it never is) but it's pretty damn near. It's lightly infused with egg drops, and the tomato taste is very distinct. I think broth is most important in Vietnamese noodle soups, because it either makes or breaks the bowl. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Bun Rieu each time I have ordered it here. Husband likes the Bun Bo Hue, but as commented that he would like it spicer without having to add more spice on his own. They pack their BBH bowls with meat compared to other spots that often skimp on it. The service is adequate -- I just find it odd when the servers stare at you while you're eating. While glancing over a few times, I would catch hard stares from a couple of the servers. Since the restaurant seems to be relatively newer, they are probably fielding for the reactions of patrons to see if the food is a yay or nay. For me, I would vote that this place is a yay. Enjoy!
Simple can be good. Simply Boba not a standalone business, but rather a booth at the front of the Bun Mam Ha Tien dining room. This bubble tea purveyor is one of seven businesses in a rather compact plaza that offers flavored tea, so the competition is fierce. Menu options include milk teas, various other flavored teas, and slushies, aka "smoothies." The wide array of toppings ($0.50) includes traditional boba, crystal boba, strawberry popping boba, many flavors of jelly, and a few other offerings. I got a large Sea Crema Tea with jasmine tea. It was roughly $4 when factoring in the upgrade to the hefty 32 oz size, so the value is good. The tea flavor was discernible even when mixed with the crema, and 75% sweetness was what I'd call normal, not cloyingly sweet as I'm sure 100% would've been. I'd eaten a light enough lunch that I didn't mind 75%, but I'll consider 50% on any future orders to get closer to my typical preference. I also asked for less ice with my drink, and although I couldn't find a point of comparison, the ice level appeared to be low enough. Crema, which I usually refer to as sea salt cream, is one of my favorite toppings for bubble tea. Simply Boba's crema matches or exceeds other versions which I've tried in the creaminess that it lends, the balance of the salt flavor that it provides, and how well it mixes into and stays mixed with the tea. I'll definitely consider the black tea variant next time, or the premium add-on if they stick with their guns on only offering jasmine and black teas at regular price. I also added the traditional boba to my drink. It's not honey boba, but it's as delicious as any non-honey versions that I've had. The size is smaller than typical pearls, which sometimes barely fit through the large straw; perhaps these are just a smidge larger than Pekoe. The texture is slightly softer than what I'd prefer, but it's otherwise chewy and properly cooked. I'm curious about their virtual reward card system. It doesn't seem to be FiveStars but is similar in that you simply input your phone number. Strangely enough, they managed to pull my full name from somewhere even though I'd never been here before. A slight negative, unless I miscounted, is that it takes 12 drinks for a free one. Simply Boba is definitely not my favorite local flavored tea shop in this very plaza, much less the San Jose area, but I'm still a fan. If you're looking for a change from whatever your normal spot is - especially if it's the relatively mediocre vendor two doors down - then try out this simple yet satisfying alternative.
I guess Simply Boba is an appropriate name for this place. It's simply a register in the front part of a restaurant, simply serving tea drinks. Definitely a no frills kind of place. They were never on my radar, but I was having lunch in this plaza yesterday and decided to drop by for a milk tea. It was Monday, December 21st a little after 3:30pm. I got my usual Black milk tea with Boba, Grass jelly and Coffee jelly, 25% sweet ($5). The sweetness was good as sometimes even 25% sweet can be too much for me. The tea was very light and milky. I like my tea strong, so I found myself wishing the tea flavor was more prominent. I liked the silky grass jelly and the chewy coffee jelly, but the boba was not good. Mushy and not much else. I kind of wish I didn't get my drink with boba as it took away from the drinking experience. For a place called simply boba, I wanted the boba to be, well... simply better. Especially when there are so many other options in this area. 2.5 stars for the tea, rounded up to 3 since the cashier there was so nice.
Rating - 3.5 Stars When I first heard about the grand opening of this place, I was expecting another milk tea cafe, but instead I found it nestled inside another restaurant called Bun Mam Ha Tien; similar to how Jazen Teas/Sipateas are found inside a Pho Hoa. I'm not sure if Bun Mam Ha Tien was already established, or if it's also having its "Grand Opening" together with Simply Boba, but this review will simply be for Simply Boba. There was a limited selection of drinks so I decided to just go with a classic Black Milk Tea with Boba. The drink had a good balance between tea and sweet, and the boba was soft and chewy, so overall the milk tea was pretty good. However, this place just doesn't stand out to me amongst the myriad of other boba places. Their milk tea would be a good drink to get if you happen to be eating inside the restaurant or if you're nearby, but I wouldn't be going out of my way for this place. They do get bonus points for having a cute logo though.

I initially was planning to get bun rieu but couldn't help myself and got bun Bo hue instead and boy did I not regret it. It's the best I've had. It's so flavorful. I will have to come back to try the bun rieu next time. We also ordered banh xeo and this thing was massive and even the accompanying veggies was a gigantic salad bowl the size of a wash bin. We also ordered a large jasmine crema tea and passion fruit yogurt tea. I ordered them at 50% sweetness. The jasmine tea was fine but the passion fruit was still a tad sweet for my taste. But the size of these large cups were huge! I'm definitely coming back for more. read more
Simply Boba is a nice little cafe that serves Vietnamese food like dry noodles dishes, noodle soup dishes, porridge, stir-fry dishes, smoothies and boba milk teas. The service is nice and friendly. I went on a Wednesday night and they had a few tables of customers dining in. I only stopped in to get a Black Milk Tea (M $5.50, L $6.50) w/pudding (each topping $.65). I know, I know, I should have tried the boba. The drink was simple but good. read more
WOW Definitely A Pleasant Surprised!!!!! I have been eyeing this bubble tea and Vietnamese Specialties Shop for awhile now. I am absolutely glad I get to enjoy their Popular Bun Mam Noodle Soup! I love Vietnamese Authentic Soups Spicy Bun Bo Hue, Bun Rieu, and my favorite Pho Noodles soups here too! Bun Mam came with Squids, Prawns, Fish, Mint, Banana Blossom, Bean Sprouts, Eggplants, and Flavorful Crispy Pork Belly! Yum!!! Spicy and Delicious! I Also Love my Fresh Passion Fruit Yogurt Tea Boba! Refreshing, Soft, and Chewy! The interior is Nice clean and Vibrant. Nice Indoor and Outdoor Seating Areas! I am definitely looking forward to try other soups like Banh Canh, Bun Bo Hue, and Bun Muc here at this Simply Boba Restaurant! read more

I usually go here for their shrimp paste noodle bowls, but today I decide to order the shrimp/pork/chicken noodle. The atmosphere isn't bad either and their assortment of Vietnamese food is great too. I really like their boba as well. read more

Came here the other day because we heard it was 2$ for their grand opening! I tried the roasted oolong milk tea with grass jelly. Yum! I'm usually a fan of tea alone but this was really good. The grass jelly could have been a little softer but still delicious! I came here again a day later, a little before closing and I wanted the same thing; but they ran out of grass jelly. My second option was boba but they ran out of that too! So the girl suggested their special pudding. She said I was the first to try it, so I was super excited since I love egg pudding! (This was just regular pudding, a little sweet) it went great with this roasted oolong milk tea! The place is pretty small,but clean! The girl at the front desk was super nice and friendly read more
Went to simply boba last night, after quite some time and it was delicious like always! I ordered my usual Jasmine milk tea with Caramel egg pudding.. D E L I C I O U S !!! I just love their jasmine milk teas ! I ordered a large and thought I could finish it but I wasn't able to. I was sad but I was so full and satisfied I ended up falling asleep with the cup in my hand. I love this place so much ! read more
DRINK Jasmine milk tea plus pearl - $5 big size. I like how big the big size is. Pearls soft sweet chewy .. normal sweetness. Not overloaded with ice. Tea taste was not so prevalent. Overall not bad. I liked it. Beats waiting in the long line of buncha kids in the other boba spots. SERVICE Order at the front counter. Nice workers ATMOSPHERE I like it, pretty modernized cafe type feel. Booth and table seating. One or two outdoor tables to enjoy a nice summer night out. So I guess they share the space with a pho place... or it's just the same owner. Pretty convenient if I'm the mood for real food plus boba. Kinda felt odd though to sit there taking up a table if I only got a drink, but it was during a less busy time so it was ok. Only one bathroom room in the back, so if someone's taking a while, you have to wait. In the busy plaza, kinda tough to find a parking spot. read more

Oh Paloma plaza, there are literally boba spots in every corner. Whenever I am in Paloma plaza, I tend to always get my drink at Cool Tea Bar. I've noticed that Simply Boba was new to the plaza and I decided to give it a try! Note: Simply boba is inside of Bun Man Ha Tien. When you first walk in, Simply Boba is in the corner on the left-hand side. The employees here are very friendly and gave suggestions because it was our first time! I really like the Roasted Oolong tea! It was soooo good and their boba is soft! When I order boba, I like to actually taste my tea. I was able to taste the Oolong tea! I want to try their WHOLE MENU. However, I would recommend sitting outside because this place is also a restaurant. I recommend trying Simply Boba! So, the next time you are in the Paloma plaza.. try it! read more

This boba shop is located inside a Vietnamese restaurant so when you walk in you're hit with a delicious aroma of bun mam. The counter to order is right in the front so it's a little more convenient than walking an extra 20 steps to the back of the restaurant. They have all the basic tea drinks so you can probably your go-to tea. I went for the strawberry yogurt tea with pudding and it was great. I've been trying to find a place with this drink for three longest time and I'm glad I don't have to go all the way to TenRen for it. I saw that the large size was only $0.25 more than the regular so I was like sure why not let's see how much bigger it is and boy is it bigger.. this thing is humongous!!! Definitely worth that extra quarter. The wait for them to make the drinks was kinda long but it's not that much of a problem. read more

It's housed with Bun Mam Ha Tien and is essentially one in the same. ***3 STARS for the Milk Tea Quality & Ambiance*** [[MILK TEA QUALITY]] Simply Boba offers a limited menu of Milk Tea, Flavored Tea, and Flavored Yogurt Tea. Toppings include boba, basil seed, aloe, and jelly (coconut, grass, green apple, lychee, mango, passionfruit, and pineapple). There are no creams or smoothies, as they offer regular, handmade drinks. I've tried Black Milk Tea, Oolong Milk Tea, and Jasmine Milk Tea with boba and grass jelly, and I have to say that BMT and Oolong are my faves! I usually get it LESS SWEET, as their default 100% is way too sugary for me (think like TapEx level). The tea taste is strong (unlike its neighbor) and I appreciate that they handshake their teas. Each is made to order! [[AMBIANCE]]-wise, it's okay. The restaurant tends to get crowded with patrons from both Simply Boba and BMHT. I appreciate the trendy interior though-- cool modern seats and tables and a synthetic grass wall! Out of the like million of tea places in this one tiny plaza (okay there are like 5...that's still a lot for one plaza~), this tea place would be my favorite here. Simply boba is simply...simple. Nothing complicated going on here, just a small, limited menu of (real) teas along with add-ons and the option to adjust your sweetness level. Considering the plaza its in, I didn't think this place would be on the trendier side-complete with bright orange chairs, a pop of vibrant green here and there,woody-ish looking walls, and a synthetic grass wall. It shares the same space as Bun Mam Ha Tien, so you can be seated to eat or you can order drinks at the register to the left. We tried a plain green milk tea with coffee jelly, plain black milk tea, peach green tea, and strawberry lychee green tea with egg pudding and caramel pudding. All regular sweetness and their smaller size (I noticed the smaller cup does not have the cute Simply Boba logo). Green milk tea generally doesn't have a strong flavor (green tea is lighter), where as black milk tea does, but the BMT still wasn't that strong. I'm usually a fan of peach green tea at all places, and simply boba made it great (+the boba was really nice and soft), but the strawberry lychee stole the show. It was really refreshing and just sweet enough! i also really like that in addition to egg pudding, there was caramel pudding! Overall the tea is a solid 3.5, but rounding up, it's pretty decent, but I would probably only come back for the strawberry lychee with egg/caramel pudding or try their other fruit flavored teas. If i'm in this plaza, this would be my tea of choice! read more

I don't just give out 5-star ratings, but this place won me over! Nicest people. everyone employee there gave me a genuine smile :) Top notch boba! The boba pearls were the prefect consistency and very sweet! You can really taste the brown sugar. I was amazed! Also prices are so reasonable! $3.50 for a good-sized cup ($0.50 extra for toppings). I got the Sea Crema and it hit the spot! Also, they use are natural flavors, no syrups or powder and they take credit cards. Definitely gotta come back here and re-live this great experience! read more
After a long, hot day of shopping with my sister and brother-in-law, we were in need of some refreshment and boba was the first thing that came to mind. We drove to San Jose, hoping to stop by one of our favorite places, but much to our disappointment it was closed for Labor Day. With a thirst that begged to be satiated, we decided to try something new and Simply Boba became our new destination. Upon arrival to the plaza that it was located in, we realized that it had pretty stiff competition. In a radius of just a few feet, you will find Tapioca Express, Bobo Drinks, BFresh, and Cool Tea Bar. Probably not the best place to set up house, but hey, what do I know? There was a grand opening banner hanging above the front entrance, so I was already a little nervous. Most boba places that start out new usually don't do very well and unfortunately Simply Boba fell prey to this curse. The design of the establishment was pretty good with wide-open space, a collection of booths and tables, and fun colors throughout. However, what sets Simply Boba apart is that they serve food here, but not your typical popcorn-chicken-and-fries kind of food. They serve Vietnamese noodles and entrees here, which somewhat confused me when I walked in, due to the aroma of milk teas and fish sauce blending together. There was a separate cashier for drinks, located at the front entrance, and another for food, located deeper within the restaurant. I only wanted a drink and ordered the roasted milk tea with pudding. The regular cup size was typical, but their large size was HUMONGOUS. Upon purchase, the waitress gave me a stamp card, buy 9 drinks and get the 10th one free. When my drink was finished, they personally brought it out to me which was really nice. As for the taste, I can't say it was anything memorable. It wasn't terrible, but it left more to be desired. I couldn't really taste the tea, but the sugar was certainly prominent. I would suggest not having it at full sweetness if you were to ever try the drinks here. I also wasn't a fan of the pudding which was strangely translucent instead of the yellow custard-like color that I'm used to. So all in all, I can't say Simply Boba serves as any serious competition to the gazillion boba places located in San Jose. There are a few that I absolutely love around the area, so most likely, I'll just stick to those. read more
