Simply Baguettes was recommended to me highly by a friend, so I decided to see what it was like. I went in and it looked very nice. The prices were very cheap, it was clean, had a nice atmosphere and the colours were nice looking. All the baguettes had been arranged very nicely on shelves behind the counter. I brought a tuna-mayo and sweetcorn baguette, a samosa and a packet of Walkers (ready salted) all for under two pounds. I thought this was the answer to all my problems - a cheap, tasty food source nearby my bus stop. However, I didn't finnish it - I thought it tasted odd. Later that day I begun to feel nauseus and sick, and was ill for two and a half days afterward, unable to eat for feeling sick. The baguette was the only thing I had eaten that none of my friends had. A bit of digging revealed I wasn't the only one - many of my friends said they found it greasy and commented that they felt queasy as well. I can only think that it is because the baguettes are left in the heat instead of being properly refrigerated, and I think that they need to do something about it - it doesn't matter how nice the shop looks if the customers are falling ill every time they eat there! read more
