I needed a 2 person crew for a 10 minute move from a 3rd floor apartment in South Austin to a relatively nearby home. Richard Bailey messaged me here on Yelp and to my phone number after I contacted multiple movers. I can only say one slightly negative thing here. At first contact, I wasn't entirely certain that they had accepted my job offer and date. I did have to message a few times to make sure the date and time was actually locked down. I, and so many of us, have been "flaked" on in the past, as I did a few times in Nashville somewhat recently. So I felt I had to reach out a little more as I had a very tight timeline and was just trying to get all my ducks in a row. However with a few messages we did lock in the day and time with a couple days to spare. I would just say that when we are here putting multiple offers on Yelp, you do end up getting blasted by some companies immediately, too much so, but it does make them "seem eager" to lock in the job. Just a little better first contact would be the only slightly negative thing I could say. On to the great: I received a call and message from Gio of their ETA the day before and on the day, which they met. The heat/humidity combination got really bad, still they had surprisingly great attitudes and asked all the right questions when they came up. They wrapped and protected all the furniture as if it was going in a cross country van/semi-trailer. Going down apartment steps, everyone's furniture has gotten scratched and bonked and movers have just said.. oh well. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and everything arrived perfectly. They even had me "direct" them to which room or area as they pulled carts of boxes up to the home. Gio and Josh were just good people, hard workers with real attention to detail and a positive attitude. I don't have any other reviews on Yelp, as far as I know, so here I am highly recommending Baileys Moving Company. Placed a quote request on Yelp and was bombarded with responses. A lot of the companies requested more information; some didn't respond. Spoke to one guy who said he would send a quote and never did. Richard Bailey gets 10 stars for price, communication; recognizing the sense of urgency and the crew he hired to complete my move. He actually texted me right away; then we spoke briefly. Based on the conversation he gave me a verbal quote and booked my move for the next afternoon. His crew showed up on time. We're very professional; had great personalities and got me moved in two and a half hours. Nothing was broken either. Assembled my washer and dryer too. One of the crew members even gave me decorative advice as I moved from a 2300 sq. ft. house to a 1300 sq. ft. apartment and my couch didn't initially look right where I thought it should be! During the move, their crew wrapped and transported my 55-inch Samsung television, which was fully functional prior to the move. After unwrapping and powering it on at my new residence, I discovered severe panel damage, including cracking and vertical line distortion, ruining the TV. We observed the crew drop a plastic box containing personal belongings and drop our mattress, demonstrating careless handling practices. I booked the Basic Move option and was informed verbally that damage claims are considered on a case-by-case basis. Despite this, my claim for replacement value was formally denied, citing lack of a specialty TV box and basic coverage. Attached are photos of the damaged television. Sharing my negative experience so others know what to expect.

And to boot...they quoted $4,700 for the move and then hit us with a $5,300 bill, saying their guys worked 30 mins over the quote. The main issue being that they took longer because we had to unpack and find our tools to allow them to use. ***edit to respond to Victoria*** This response is a perfect example of the miscommunication and lack of professionalism. Nobody ever requested to leave a tv up. The day of packing, my husband was playing Xbox and said "whenever yall need to pack this let me know and I'll shut this down". This is also when we discovered that they did not have any tools to remove the TV, so, the TV wasn't going to be removed either way that day. Nobody was ever asked to "make beds" but we paid to have them put together (assembled). The movers also were not met with hostility. You had a group of young men with neck tattoos talking and bragging about their time in prison in front of everyone (including our children). My husband did the responsible thing, which was to address the staff as a whole. I'll mention he also tipped each one $100 bill at the end. We did this because it was apparent that the fault was on managment and not the individuals. They came both days unprepared without proper tools. Two separate groups of movers on two different days being paid to pack, dis-assemble and re-assemble furniture. (How is that possible?) Nobody was ever "cussed out" in person or on the phone. My husband called the very next morning and left a voicemail for the owner that was never returned. This response and lack of accountability again proves why I would never recommend this company.

The final bill we were charged was 25% more than the highest estimated range we were given ($6000 -$8000). Our bill was over $10,000 for packing a 2500 sf home and moving eight (8) miles. The amount of supplies they used and charged us for was an exorbitant & wasteful amount. The crew rewrapped things already labeled and in moving boxes from a move the year before. They wrapped items almost individually (ex., typical plastic, *unbreakable* bottles of spices were wrapped by 2's in large sheets of paper). Nightstand and dresser drawers were emptied and boxed instead of just wrapping the drawers closed with the contents (for an 8 mile trip). Towels were removed and boxed instead of wrapping them in plastic wrap in the towel stand holding them. Interestingly, several cans of vegetables were placed inside two unwrapped, fragile, large bowls so both bowls were broken. They wrapped every little thing in wrapping paper, even a LIVE, potted plant and put it in a box with bookcase items - of course it died since we opened "bookcase" items last. They wrapped and loaded dinnerware, kitchen appliances, and glassware and put them all in large/tall boxes so those boxes were heavy/difficult to move from one room to the other which we had to do after they left bc half the boxes were mislabeled; kitchen boxes were delivered to bedrooms and vice versa. Our coffee maker was put in a box with linen closet items - it took a week to find it and when we did there was mold growing inside the tank. When we got the final bill we were shocked. My husband called Andrew to discuss the many issues we had he was told the team of packers had just taken a course in packing for military customers (which we are not, nor was that explained to us before we hired 2CBM) who move cross country and that's how he justified the high (& surprising) charge for the large amount of supplies and man hours to overpack us. To say the whole experience was frustrating and overwhelming (so much more time was involved unwrapping each little thing) is a real understatement. The fact that Andrew didn't inform us or warn us about their new military style packing and moving regimen seems unprofessional and shifty. He is unwilling to compensate for what seems like fleecing and overcharging us. We asked if he could reduce any of the bill or at least get closer to the high end of the estimate - he would not and didn't offer a dime. This was the second time we hired this outfit. First time was March 2024. Our experience was night and day difference. My husband was the point of contact for Andrew thru the entire process this time and they are the ones who planned the in-person walk thru appointment, and the packing and move dates. They signed the contract. However, Andrew only emailed me ~ I didn't meet with him, didn't talk to him. He has my husband's cell number. Andrew said since my husband didn't question the bill (which was sent to my email?) until after the cc was charged there was nothing he could do or would do. I emphatically would never hire this company again and regret that we hired them for our move. And yes, I have pictures of the things i mentioned above. Then they delivered what we needed to our house. They arrived exactly on time and all of them worked very hard. All three were extremely kind and patient--we had to open several boxes to see what was inside since our previous movers did not label them properly. One thing that stood out was the excellent teamwork among the three guys. Highly recommended and we plan to hire them again when our house renovation is complete and we can move everything else in.

Where it turns south is when I asked if another date was available, he said yes, I said I'd get back with him to confirm a change if needed, I never got back to him about changing the date. So I was surprised to receive an email saying my date was changed to the unconfirmed date I asked about and my original date now being gone. I asked for a refund on the deposit as it was not a mistake on my end that the date changed and he said it was non-refundable. Your mileage may vary with the company.
