I was not expecting a tiny hut but wow, hard working employees with 2 long lines on each side. Decently expensive drink menu with monthly drink specials including a seasonal "fizz"- their take on an energy drink. This month (September 2023) is apple orchard fizz- super bubbly and sweet with a hint of cinnamon. I ordered a medium caramel latte with almond milk- needs a little sugar but it's overall refreshing. This place is a staple in Auburn and worth stopping by at one of their huts/pop-up cafe!

I was in the auburn area and needed some Java so picked here. They have so many interesting specials I could not choose which way to go! I went with a hot Carmel macchiato. It was tasty but on the sweet side. In the future I would order it half of the sugar. I want to go back and try some of their spring specials.

Gone before we left the parking lot.

Great coffee, but it was almost gone with one sip. It was filled to the top of the cup with ice and almost gone before we left the parking lot.

It's that time of year again- chaider!! Had to stop by again. I always say I'll get a different cider flavored drink and I've had the others before like the poison apple but absolute fav fall one is hot chaider! Their cup design has changed since last year but not their service or quality. Also same cute sticker concept. Loved the hocus pocus one!

I am the biggest coffee snob out there. Our family has been all over the country from Washington to Maine. Michigan to Florida. And in between. And we've tried coffee shops along the way. This coffee shop was absolutely wonderful and fantastic. Best café au lait I've ever had. The smoothie was amazing. All 7 drinks were top top notch! Pass by the Starbucks and go to this place. It's right in front of tractor supply.

Love this place! So excited that they are putting up a new hut on the west end as well. This place is easy to access...simply drive up to the window! They always have great flavored coffees and lattes. I have not tried their teas yet. Just simply hooked on all of the coffee concoctions! The baristas are super friendly. Everyone had been nice and very helpful any time I have driven through. Today I had a chocolates and strawberry latte that was decadent and delicious. They also offer donuts, muffins and scones. The cream cheese stuffed chocolate muffin is amazing!! Nice to see a small local business do so well Everyone who goes there raves! It is worth a quick stop!

Simple Roast owner Matt with his roaster.

Simple Roast was started in 2013 by roaster/owner Matt Peirson. Tired of working a regular 9-5 job, coffee loving Matt started roasting his own coffee as a hobby along with brewing beer. He spent his free time learning as much as he could about coffee beans and the roasting process, and after becoming pretty good at it, he encoded to try selling at a local farmers market one day. He surprisingly sold out, and after nothing more than a $500 initial investment, the company took off from there, and in 2016, he was able to leave his day job and open up his own little coffee hut in Auburn. Matt will tell you that the best coffee comes from using the best green coffee beans possible. What makes Simple Roast Coffee better is the amount of work and care that goes into roasting. All the beans they roast have been vetted and cupped numerous times to ensure the right qualities and flavors are present. The beans they purchase and roast are certified fair trade and organic, so your conscience can rest easy while you enjoy every cup. Simple Roasts coffee beans are roasted to order and guaranteed fresh, ensuring you'll enjoy the most delicious, high quality cup of coffee possible. You'll also be supporting a local small business, as Matt does everything himself, from purchasing the beans, to roasting, grinding if you prefer, packaging and sending every bag. Everyone I've introduced to Simple Roast has agreed that it's the freshest, best tasting coffee they've ever had. Matt is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and his staff is as well. They always have different, seasonal flavor specials and also have tea and smoothies for non-coffee drinkers. Worth the drive to Auburn, but you can also find their coffee in certain specialty stores and order it online. Highly recommend.

If you're driving by it's definitely worth a stop. Coffee is fresh and delicious every time. This is one of Liza's favorite coffee spots today I'm working so was flying solo. Price is super cheap for my usual is an Americano with cream and no sugar, always hits the spot.

If you are looking for a little pocket of charm near Skaneateles or Marcellus, NY, Milk House…read moreRoastery is your place. Nestled directly behind a silo inside a historic 1700s farm cellar, this family-run farm and roastery has been open for six years, offering an authentic country farm hideaway vibe. While they do not feature an espresso bar, their hot brewed coffee, iced coffee, and canned cold brew with oat milk are wonderful. I particularly enjoyed their iced coffee with cream and their housemade brown sugar nutmeg simple syrup--a recipe the owner and coffee master was more than happy to share after I admired it. They also carry a small but pleasantly unexpected selection of artisan foods from around the Finger Lakes area, including granola, shortbread cookies, pastas, specialty salts, and more. Plus, they sell their beans by the pound--beans which they source directly from coffee growers and roast weekly on-site. Additionally, following the farm's first dahlia show this September, I was able to purchase some of their dahlia seeds--which came complete with expert planting and transplanting advice from the owner. Overall, the pricing is fair, with the canned cold brews leaning slightly expensive, but in a pleasant, small-splurge kind of way. While there are tables available, the space is better suited for catching up with a small group of friends rather than setting up to work for hours. The hospitality is exceptional, and the entire experience feels deeply connected to the farm. Make the extra effort to stop here the next time you're traveling through the area! CAUTION: Check their website for hours before you go; they have fairly limited operating hours, so definitely plan ahead to stop by on your way to anywhere else in the area!

Cute country spot with nice coffee options, occasional mini flower markets and other local goods.read more

I was looking for a coffee shop in Syracuse that had a comfortable, laid-back atmosphere and stayed…read moreopen later than most cafes, so I decided to check out Recess. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. The vibe was relaxed and low-key, making it a good place to sit down and get some work done. I spent some time working while I was there and appreciated having a space where I could focus without feeling rushed. The staff was pleasant, and one of the employees was kind enough to take a picture for me when I asked, which I appreciated. The only thing that stood out to me was that there wasn't much of a greeting or acknowledgment when I walked in, but it wasn't a huge issue. The seating was okay. The chair I chose wasn't the most comfortable for an extended stay, but it got the job done. There was also some rock music playing during my visit, which helped create a casual atmosphere. I didn't order any coffee or food this time around, so I can't speak to the menu yet. This visit was more about finding a place to work and unwind for a bit. Would I come back? Yes. While I'm still searching for my go-to coffee lounge in Syracuse, Recess is definitely a spot I'd visit again. It has a chill, unpretentious vibe that makes it easy to settle in and spend some time there. I forgot to take more pictures will do when I go back.
