I have had a lot of imaging done over the years and have always liked SimonMed and it is great to have all of my images at one place due to memory issues (I'm getting to old to remember it all). Not to mention this is perfect as I live right next door. Well for the most part every appointment has gone good and fairly timely. What I literally "hate" is that you cannot make appointments for xrays. So over the course of various xrays orders given by doctors, I have watched the parking lot, dropped in to only fine 1 hr or more wait time. Now I have a failed lumbar fusion and cervical stenosis, fibro/cfs, anxiety. I "cannot" sit there long at all. When my last xray was ordered from my doctor I dreaded it was an xray, only due to having it done at SimonMed. So again, I watch for a good time and drop in. Only to find the line is 5-6 people deep. Now I have stood when the line was 2-3 people deep and that killed my back. Only 2 working check doesn't help. To wait in line (the standing kills me) for 5-10 mins to find out there is over an hour wait for xrays. NO WAY!!! So the last time I came in to see the line 5 deep I walked right out. Years ago I had imaging done at EVDI and they were good - I just wanted everything at one location so if I forgot over the years of having something done they had the info. I had to give in and call EVDI - THANK GOD they took appointments. This really is a hassle SimonMed and for people who are hurting physically your walk in policy for xrays is torture. You should offer walkin and appt like EVDI does. I will not be doing xrays at SimonMed any longer unless they start taking appts for xrays as well. PS - I've been coming to this location for 10 yrs and it hasn't been bad until this past year. Line and wait time, shortage of front office staff is what I feel is the issue for the most part. This also isn't fair to your employees - give them the help they need. I would be a miserable employee also working under those conditions. UPDATE: 5/23/17 As far as Xrays go, I will go elsewhere where they do take appointments. Now for my new update. I had mri's of both shoulders but on different dates because of severe back/anxiety I can't handle that machine to long. My mri of one shoulder was done 4 wks ago and my doctor did receive that. But the one done 6 wks ago has been like pulling teeth to get and it is my worst shoulder. My doctors office is having a heck of a time getting the 1 record from S.M. She has called several times. Here it is 6 wks later and she still doesn't have them. Doesn't do any good to contact medical records as it is all automated. Trying to get thru the appointment line. Been waiting for 14 minutes. So it took 19 minutes for someone to answer. I am not unhappy with the employees as they can only do so much. S.M. needs to staff this better so everything gets done and correctly without constantly inconveniencing your patients/docs!!! Not only have I been on my doctor about getting these, I now have to call S.M. to find out what is going on. If I can't get thru and have to go there to find out I will be SO TICKED!!!!! May need to rethink about using S.M. all together. Oh, I will say one thing. They finally did something about that horrible long line. The past 2 times I have been in the lobby is full but there is literally no one in line. Still not happy with how much problem my doctor and I are having getting my MRI!!!!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had an appointment for an MRI. They make you come in early to fill out forms. As I'm filling out my forms, a receptionist tells me that she is running 15 minutes late. Ok 15 minutes isn't bad. After waiting 45 minutes I ask how much longer. Oh only 5 more minutes. Ok, I sit back down and wait. After 25 more minutes I go back to the receptionist and ask for my paperwork back & that I need to leave because I have a doctors appointment. They then tell me she's coming to get you now. I asked how long the MRI is and I'm told 15. Ok. I'll still have time to get to doctor. About 5 minutes later they call me back. I change my clothes & now have to wait again because someone is still in the MRI room. Once she takes me into the room for the MRI I'm told that it is 20 minutes. I was finally leaving the building 30 minutes later. But now I'm late for my doctor appointment. I have to call my doctor and apologize that I'm running late due to SimonMed. The receptionist was nice but if she would have been honest and not have told me that my wait was only going to be another 5 min when it wasn't, I would have left. I picked this location because it was close to my doctor. What a mistake. I've never had to wait at the Greenfield location. Won't be going here ever! read more

This has been the worst experience of any of my medical experiences and I am 55 years old. First, the Biopsy that was recommended by the Radiologist, as he seemed to be super concerned about calcium deposit spots; It was a very painful procedure that took me a few months to recover from. I complained of pain and they told that they did not want to give me too much numbing medication since I was having three biopsy's in one breast done. My body was very cold after procedure and I could not even focus for over thirty minutes because of the shaking. The procedure was done on a Wednesday and I did not hear anything until the following Monday evening. My doctor office said it should not have taken that long to get results and was sorry I had to go through the weekend not knowing. BILLING: Once procedure was completed I was told that SimonMed needed an additional mammogram to record where the markers were placed in my breast. I was told by the assistant of Radiologist that I would not be charged for this mammogram as it was routine for them so they would have for their records. Well, I was charged for it and tried for three months to get the charge removed from my bill and eventually had to pay the additional $540 for this mammogram because they said they had no record/notes that I was told that. It cost me over $2,500 out of my pocket for all of this and in the end there was no concerns thank God! The billing department and communication with SimonMed is the worst. Do not go here I would suggest any other place but SimonMed. I would strongly suggest a second opinion as I don't think this Radiologist was familiar with dense breasts at all either. read more

I had read the reviews and noticed a common complaint. The front office needs improvement, I experienced office staff that is apathetic at best. They seem to take an inordinate amount of time to shuffle papers between patients. I finally reached the check in person and she needed to discuss her evening itinerary with a coworker. Unfortunately this has happened to me more than once at this location. Banner Desert is across the street and I have the option to go there. I was in and out of the radiology dept swiftly and without feeling I was interrupting someone's social life. I would think that with this many complaints that something would be done. I had a HidaScan completed here by Matt P. He is a true professional. He explained the entire process in detail, answered all my questions, allowed me to watch the monitor, and even gave me a blanket because I was chilly. During the procedure I started to become ill, he stood next to me and helped me get through it by deep breathing and speaking to me. 5 stars for Matt!! The reason for only 2 stars is, I felt unsafe in the waiting room. A man (possibly homeless) stumbled into the waiting room clearly under the influence seeking medical attention. He had no idea where he was or how he got there. The woman at the front desk had no idea how to handle the situation or help the man. It was extremely awkward and unsettling. read more

Extremely BAD bedside manners by two female mri nurses (didn't seem like radiologists) - seemed like their first time doing a shot / Imaging. They feed off of each other's bad bedside manners and probably don't know it. Overall, the place is ghetto. Dirty imaging machine. Everything is out of place. They do your shot in a confined closet, then have you wait in a second waiting room to be called with a shot in your arm - is that even sanitary? The front desk is nice, but the WORST IMAGING experience ever!!! (And I've had ALOT). Wouldn't let them take pictures of my face let alone my internal parts. read more

I just had an mri in my shoulder done by Cecilie Great experience! I arrived and the girl in the front desk was friendly and had everything ready. check-in process was less than 5 minutes. Then Cecilie was very efficient and clear explaining the process. My test was done in less than 20 min. I received a cd with my images immediately. Today is saturday and the place is very quiet. I have had multiple MRIs at EVDI, and never once had a problem getting an appointment or getting back into the machine on time. For some reason, my doctor wanted me to go to Simonmed this time. Though the scheduler looked at MULTIPLE locations, I couldn't get an appoint for over two weeks! My appointment was for 5:00. I was told to arrive at 4:45 to check in. I was on time. I was then told they were running about an hour behind. Well, it's 6:10, and I was just told that it will be at least 40 more minutes. I wonder if I'll ever get in. The guy at the front desk offered to try to reschedule. Seriously? When it took over two weeks to get this one?! Also, I had to get a babysitter. I can't do this again. I'll wait, but I'll never come to Simonmed for imaging again. I don't care what my doctor wants. It's EVDI for me from now on! read more

1st off,,, staff there is stellar. Now for the bs. I called for an MRI appt. and said my partner is very sick, can't stay still or lay flat and has a 30 seconds memory.. RESPONSE: IM SURE THEY WILL ACOMIDATE HIM. Go to appt. only one handicap space, 6 wheelchairs inside. They tried 2 times to take the images but he would not lay still and was very agitated! Left with nothing. Took hours to get him ready! Waiting on call for a new appt. at another facility were they can sedate him. Will be watching my ins bills to make sure no one gets paid due to incompetency. read more

They ask you to come in 1/2 ahead of scheduled time and are running a hour late so that's 1 1/2 hours wasted plus the time for imaging. I would leave if u thought I could get in somewhere else... they will want fill payment for poor customer service!!! read more

My review is based on the competency of this facility only. They were actually quite nice and polite. They botched a MRI with contrast and I was forced to do it a second time due to them not getting the IV in my vein. The contrast was blasted into my skin, and it was VERY painful. My arm was swollen and bruised for a week. Needless to say I would never come here again. When I came in for the second one, nobody would tell me WHY even though they knew it was because they botched the first contrast attempt. Very unprofessional. read more

My daughter had to do a very rarely performed bone scan. The staff (Jackie at front desk, and the technologist/manager who helped.. I didn't get his name but he was wearing a bowtie) really went out of their way to find out from our doctor the correct scan and doses she needed. Even though she was scheduled at a different facility, We really appreciate the help and support the staff at this Dobson location have given us. There was very little time to do the scan before her surgery (due to another company who misunderstood the order and performed the wrong scan), and we were still being scheduled in time. read more

I wish I did not have to give them one star. They deserve a negative 10 rating. First, I will say this is my first and definitely my last experience with Simon med. it took an hour for anyone to answer the phone to schedule my mammogram and dexa scan. I should have stopped there. I arrived at my appointment on time, waited in front of the check in desk for a good 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. When I was allowed to come up,to the desk, I expressed my concern about the number of patients waiting as I had another commitment. The lady assured me they were running on schedule. 45 minutes later I was called. I asked the technician how long it would take. She said 5 minutes for the dexa scan and she would check on the mammo when she finished. She then informed me the mammogram techs were running 30 to 60 minutes behind due to a tough case. I, of course, had to reschedule my mammogram or I would have been late for my next meeting. This is unfair to inconvenience me when you overbook. I have always gone to SMIL, but my insurance changed and my new one is not accepted at SMIL If you are reading this, go to SMIL. I had a pelvic and vaginal ultrasound scheduled. I specifically asked for a woman and so they referred me to a location farther away. They scheduled me and assured me that I would be with a woman. I arrived for my appointment and there was a man. I asked him why I wasn't with a woman and he said she doesn't work those days. Super frustrating. He seemed offended that I was uncomfortable about him helping me. It was my first time ever going through something like that and I was nervous. He told me I could reschedule but I didn't want to make my drive over there for nothing and I was upset at his frustration and didn't want to be an inconvenience, so I just continued. Today (August 8, 2018) I had an appointment for an MRI at the Mesa Desert location in Tempe. After waiting for almost an hour, I was called to the desk and told that I had to pay a certain amount of money and that if I couldn't pay that amount right then and there, that they wouldn't be able to do the MRI and that I would have to reschedule. I told the front desk lady that I could only pay half and that that's all I had. She continued to tell me that that wasn't going to work and that I needed to reschedule. So I basically wasted an hour of my afternoon waiting for nothing. After telling the very unhelpful lady at the desk that I would like my referral back and that I'd be going somewhere else she proceeded to give me someone else's referral (which I didn't notice until I had gotten home) so not only was she extremely rude but clearly unorganized because that's a major Hipaa violation. This isn't the first time I've had an issue with this location, let alone Simon Med so essentially it was my fault for even giving them a second chance. I have gotten at LEAST 20 MRIs done through Simon Med and have been using them for all my medical imaging needs since I was diagnosed with my condition 18 years ago. I really needed to get this MRI done today and now I have to be in pain for that much longer all because Simon Med was the furthest thing from understanding and caring. I will never again be using Simon Med for any medical imaging I may need in the future. I am absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated today and it truly upsets me that at the end of the day Simon Med was more worried about money and payment versus my health and well being. read more

I simply tried to schedule a mammogram appointment my doctor had faxed in by calling the main SimonMed number. After being transferred by a very nice intake person, for the first two attempts I was on hold for 10 minutes each before I hung up and went to lunch. On my third attempt I decided to wait, and after 12 minutes of being on hold someone at this facility who didn't sound like she cared one iota finally answered. I said thank you but I will find another provider, because if it takes three calls and 12 minutes just to pick up the phone then I bet the other reviews about this site are fairly accurate. I have many options, and based on just my experience in trying to schedule an appointment I will be seeking another provider. read more

WARNING----I wish I could give no stars. This is the most unorganized lab I have ever been to. The people there are either not trained properly in their job or they just don't give a crap. I have been there 2x's for a mammogram recheck and still have not been able to get my exam because the staff has not clearly communicated what the patient needs to get the procedure done. The place is filthy, it has a BO smell and the people are unprofessional and rude. My review is not against any of the people who work there because I found them all to be quite pleasant. It's the billing process. I have literally NEVER received a statement from them but they sent a claim to a collection agency saying I was delinquent. I checked with my insurance company and did owe money, so I paid it (again, without ever receiving a statement or even an email). A week later, I get a TEXT (not an email or a statement) from them saying I owe them money from over 18 months again (for $4.58) and a claim from over 6 months ago. I think because I paid one bill that they are trying to cheat and extort other money from me by threatening with a collection agency. I called their billing group and they even said "oh, I see they've never sent you any statements" and the woman on the phone was nice and said she'd put my account on hold pending further investigation because she can see that I've paid. Beware of their billing - they try to cheat you and extort you to pay them more money even if your EOB says you are all paid up! I know they seem to be a monopoly on imaging and stuff, but I will try to find somewhere else next time I need a scan read more

This is the most unsanitary place I have ever been too!!! Thank God I was with my daughter when she was getting her MRI. Right as the Tech was about to inject my daughter with dye, I looked at the tray that had all the gauze and needles and it had several drops of old blood on the tray pad!!!! I was so disgusted! I asked the tech if that was someone elses blood on the pad that had the needles and gauze, and she hesitated and then said yes!!! That is completely unsanitary and definitely not up to health code. I did file a complaint and I will never be returning to that disgusting place again! read more

This was apparently just to respond to my negative post and make it appear like they actually care to the general public that reads Yelp reviews. Of course I did not receive any follow up of any kind. I changed to EVDI and they are very nice there and seem so much more competent. I told EVDI folks about how poorly SimonMed Imaging Mesa on Dobson RD. treated me and how they wanted to collect payment in advance with no communication whatsoever for what it was for and left me now choice but to leave?...and how badly the scheduler and follow up was. No one could understand how they could be so unprofessional. The front desk people seem down right shady and like ice cubes. The front desk woman and the scheduler Anthony need to be moved out of their roles and replaced, in my opinion if they are still working there. The first time I cane to Simon Med Imaging on June 13th was a positive experience, however this time was just the opposite. First it took me 4 days to finally get someone to answer the phone so I could make an appointment. Then when I expressed my concern of nobody answering the phones I was told that maybe the phones were down or something. Really? Then when I show up for my appointment I wait in line with other people while Hippa was obviously being violated. The 3 ladies were using already used papers and one used used paper to print my forms on because they ran out of paper and didn't have any new paper to use. It's been a long time since I've witnessed such an unprofessional environment. The ladies at the front desk were short of spitting on the floor and grabbing their crotches. That's the impression I had while checking in. I need to also add that the ladies that performed the imaging were very very professional and showed me a lot of respect. I would definitely recommend the staff behind the scenes. I think the ladies at the front counter could benefit from training on professionalism. read more
