Living from from this facility, I traveled there four times -- and each time, was unable to have…read morethe procedure done for which I was scheduled. This could have been discerned before driving an average of 132 miles round trip: one of the times, someone canceled a procedure that could be done because another SimonMED employee decided that the original procedure could be done instead. The last straw: when I finally resolved all the technical difficulties of getting the original procedure done, I drone the nearly 90 miles to this facility -- only to be told that my medical records didn't reflect the clearance given to me by another SimonMED employee. There seems to be a disconnect between the information you provide them versus their records. I've provided them all the information required as to my medical history, onky to be told their records didn't show that this information had been provided... in writing, no less. Then there's the check-in procedure, where you are asked every question you answer in writing: when I commented that I'd provided this information three times previously (in writing), then had given them the same information in the pre-appointment check-in process, I was told "If you don't give me this information, I'm going to cancel your appointment." The last two appointments I'd made to have this procedure done, there were FOUR different check-in calls made by the company, each wanting more information that I'd repeatedly given them. Where is the information I've repeatedly given them going? The staff are rude, and dismissive. They'll interrupt frequently when you provide them your medical history... which means that my answers aren't complete. This is exactly how patients are harmed -- or, in this case, killed. Three days ago, I received a call from someone at SimonMED who said that the confusion had all been cleared up, and that I could go ahead and do the original procedure, and scheduled me for my appointment. When I arrived there, the radiology technician told me that my records did NOT reflect the open formation given me on the phone, and that I couldn't go through with the procedure. I've tried for 10 weeks, in four different appointments, to have a procedure done -- not including the one appointment that they cancelled because I was given clearance to do the procedure that I was originally scheduled for after a substitute procedure was scheduled. Frustrated that they decide to cancel the appointment after driving all that distance -- the gas prices NOT being cheap -- I expressed my dismay about this fourth (actually, fifth) appointment being cancelled after I arrived at the facility. The person who cancelled yesterday's appointment, after I'd driven into the Phoenix area, told me that she didn't care about these cancellations: she didn't have to. Never have I encountered people who are so arrogant, rude, who treat patients with contempt... having decades of experience in one aspect or another in the health care industry. I think that patients should be treated with respect... but that's simply not one of the tools in their toolkit. They're petty, controlling, and don't give a damn about how they treat patients... or the demands they've placed on them. One other thing: a week after my first appointment with SimonMED, I began getting phone calls about purchasing and/or renting equipment that is often used to treat people who have the injury (or disability) that I have. Coincidence? Is it SimonMED's policy to sell their patients' information? Or has one of their employees gone into business for themselves? It causes me to wonder where all of my medical history and personal information has gone... especially since it isn't entered into their records. Why do I think someone connected with SimonMED is responsible? It's because I've disclosed information to them that no one else has... with the exception of those who are now calling me to sell me equipment and/or services. I don't know what they're doing at SimonMED. Neither do they.

I spotted it and contacted SimonMed. They reassured me that they would handle the communication. They did not and it messed up the scheduling of my surgery. This place is great. You can talk to a real person, don't have to wait longer than 10-20 minutes,…read morethey give you a QR code for your results, and get them back to you quickly. You can even upload your imaging order. I didn't have to spend hours trying to get them to find a form or trying to get my results over to the doctor, which makes this a zillion times better than the other imaging clinics in Phoenix. My only complaint is that they didn't tell me they go on lunch from 12-1 so I showed up at 12:40 for a 1PM--schedulers should tell you that you don't need to show up 20 minutes early if it's during a scheduled lunch break.

Having spent several decades in ambulatory healthcare administration, I was struck by the…read moresignificant breakdowns in intra-office communication at this RadNet imaging center. The problems appeared to involve both my medical circumstances and the appointment process itself. Most concerning was the imaging center's apparent failure to communicate important limitations in their capabilities to the ordering physician in advance of the appointment. The result, in my experience, was nearly two hours of unnecessary waiting, followed ultimately by cancellation of the scheduled scan by the imaging center. RadNet is a publicly traded corporation whose business model centers on owning and operating diagnostic imaging networks across the country. While medicine has historically been viewed as a profession insulated from direct corporate control, the growth of companies like RadNet illustrates how large, investor-backed corporations are now deeply integrated into the delivery of medical care. In my view, this represents a contemporary example of corporations being permitted to function, in substance, as medical practice enterprises, and I believe the implications for patient care warrant serious consideration.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get get an appointment until a few weeks later and it was at 2:45 which required that I fast all day. They did put me on a cancellation wait list and did call with a followup. The facility was easy to find, with plenty of parking. When I arrived, I was immediately summoned to the front desk where I got the business completed. It was a friendly and easy process. After being seated, I was called in at my scheduled appointment time. The young lady was very friendly and did a skilled job at inserting my IV. My MRI tech was also very friendly and communicated constantly during the MRI process. Everything they did was well planned and executed. I thought Valley Radiologists did a professional job and took good care of me. Special thanks to Katrina and Josh.
