What a great spot in the middle of Sharon. Forget going out into Boston or bigger towns for a great out of the ordinary meal and drink. Honestly this place has a hideout sort of vibe with great lighting and music. The food is well inspired and has great unique flavors and presentations. I can't wait to try it more now that they've added some bar specials during the week including very nicely priced apps and tacos made on fresh pita. Fresh baked pita and hummus were delicious but the stars of the night were the half cauliflower head, radicchio in balsamic and calamari...Panna cotta was the perfect dessert...not too sweet. Little gem found in a strip mall in Sharon. Service was A+. Our waiter guided us in the right direction without overselling the menu. Between the salads, small plates and a main course four of us were able to taste a bunch of different things and were pleased with everything. Any decent chef can make good food. But a great chef knows which foods compliment each other. Which foods bring out the best in each other. Which foods create a symphony (ok, perhaps a bit dramatic, but I stand by it). The wood fired Salmon with chili rice pudding and pickled green beans is the definition of this. Each part brings out the best in the whole. Salmon by itself is ok. But lets add a bit of heat from the chili rice pudding...now we are building something. A bit of panache and interest. But add pickled roasted green beans? Takes it to a whole new level. All three parts are greater than the whole and play off of each other. Hats off to you chef (or should I say maestro). You have made what can be a "healthy choice" with ingredients that can all go in a different direction depending upon what they are paired with into Beethoven's No. 9 'Choral' Symphony. I could say I go to Simcha because I like to support local or support someone I went to high school with (both true), but mostly it's because it's the best food around! Every dish is unique and flavorful. The hummus & pita is a must. I especially loved the carrots, the beets, the Brussel sprouts, and the stuffed avocado. The mussels & octopus dish was incredible with a delicious smokey flavor. It's the kind of food I've only had in cities at restaurants where you have to book reservations weeks in advance, but Avi brought it to my little hometown, making it our go-to destination for when my girlfriends can sneak away from our busy lives for a little reunion over a glass of wine and delicious bites. read more

Service, ambiance, and food all get an A+. We had the brussel sprouts, carrots, chicken and pork belly. Delicious! I don't know our server's name, but she was fabulous. The vibe makes you feel like you're downtown. And seeing the woodstove cranking in the corner really adds to the feeling of this place. This would be a great place to come with a large group. The vibe really supports that kind of gathering, and so does the menu. Order a few large plates for the table to share and a few sides! This place is also a great spot for date night too though. Was familiar with the ownership from the Chubby Chickpea. His falafel was dope. Went there not long after it opened and have visited several times. I've sat in the dining room side and at the bar. I've been with just my SO and with large groups. I've been with kids. Is it small? Yes. Will you possibly have to wait? Perhaps. Is it worth it? Definitely. City quality in the suburbs. Finally. It's one of the few restaurants I go to...order whatever I want that appeals to me and realize as I'm paying the bill, I ate little or no proteins. So many delicious vegetables! I do not say that often. Now...don't get me wrong. It's hardly a vegetarian restaurant. there are great wings. (Had em). There is a a short rib that's outstanding. The star of the show though.....his hummus and fresh baked (warm) pita. Start with that. Every time. You will be licking the bowl. If I'm lying I'm dying. So damn good. He has bumped the beer and wine program up considerably since opening so you can get several local kick ass IPA's there and a delicious Rose as well. We don't get food like this in the burbs often. I have been to Simcha twice and have had a fabulous experience both times! The food is always creative and incredible. There is always something different on the menu and in the bar. The waitstaff was wonderful. My friend has a severe gluten allergy. There were so many great options for her and they made a special effort to not cross contaminate anything we had. This was a great meal - early Saturday, my wife and I went over to visit - I've known Avi (owner) from Chubby Chickpea days. Place is small and quiet, we were there with a three-generation family of seven at the next table, and two two-tops Started with hummus and beets - both were excellent. Hummus is smooth and seasame-y, huge plus. Beets were cooked perfectly and had a hint of sweetness that did not disappoint. We both had fried chicken, primarily because it's GLUTEN FREE FRIED CHICKEN! Made with chickpea flour, and fried it it's own fryer, this was nearly perfect. Crunchy and not overly gloppy, the coating was excellent. One portion was just right, another a little oily, but I'm sure that was because one rested longer than the other. In any case - it was excellent! Nearly everything on the menu (save the pita and donuts for dessert) is GF, and really really tasty. Can't wait to go back and have more of the starters and larger plates - everything we had was great. read more

From the beginning with the delicious wines to the pita bread, homemade I might add, the hummus, there was nota drop left, to the fried feta, and the cauliflower which was served complimentary, to the chicken dish which we had two order for four and then the lemon cake, a big wow! I have eaten at Simcha 4 times now, and it's been barely been open for a month! Avi has been so generous to hold private tasting events for local organizations before the restaurant was even open to test out different menu items and to make sure his staff was ready for opening night. My husband and I went for dinner for my birthday and it was a amazing. We had the octopus which was served with a spicy green sauce and mandarin oranges, we loved it all! We had the chicken liver mousse that was served with bread and these amazing pickled vegetables. For dinner we had the chicken, which my husband couldn't get enough of. We also shared a filet, which was cooked perfectly and very tender. I went the next day to try the brunch with friends. We had the shakshuka with Bulgarian feta which was so flavorful that we all wanted to lick the bowl! We also had the bumble bean hummus which was amazing and served with homemade pita. This is a tiny restaurant with about 10 tables depending on the configuration. We had a reservation for 7:15 and were not seated until 8:10 because a party of 4 who had finished eating and paid their bill sat and tied up the table for over 45 minutes. The restaurant tried to be accommodating and brought us their delicious hummus to stave off our hunger while we waited.
