Brian and Ashley were great on the communication end and Luke and his team were awesome, timely and professional. They even worked with some used components mixed with old panels and new microinverters/gateway we supplied, as well as supplied new wiring for a third string we didn't realize was required until installation time. I agree with the other bad reviews... they are not responsive and prompt when there is a problem…read more They appear to be a brokerage company that hires solar panel installers and only facilitates the install. That is probably why they are reluctant to take accountability when things don't work right or if there is damage. When I discovered roof leak damage after the install and also suboptimal energy production, they passed the ball onto Enphase and said it was not their responsibility.

The crew and all of the people at United solar Electric were very responsive and professional. I would, and will do business with them again, (adding an additional battery). PG&E was a problem. PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!

My wife and I had a very concerning experience with United Solar Electric regarding their business…read moreethics and refund policies. We were interested in solar for our 1940s home and provided a deposit in good faith. However, after further inspection of our roof and the overall project viability, we decided not to move forward. When we requested our deposit back--before any equipment was ordered or installation began--the company initially refused, claiming it was 'passed' the point of a refund. It was a high-pressure situation where we felt they were trying to lock us into a contract we weren't comfortable with. While we did eventually receive our deposit back after pushing the issue, the initial refusal to return funds for work not performed was a major red flag. Homeowners should be very careful with the fine print here. If you are looking for a company that values transparency and customer comfort over just 'closing the deal,' I would suggest looking elsewhere. We're glad we didn't get stuck with them and are instead putting that money into improvements that actually fit our home.

So we are back at square one with no solar. But Stellar Power did hold up their end of the bargain. We have sat down with many solar installation companies in the past 3 years. We were never happy with any of them. And so many are not trustworthy. But all that changed when Rage Mello knocked on our door! Rage and RJ met with us and was the first company to agree to the installation being on a pagoda instead of the roof. Something my husband is intent on it being. We are very much looking forward to the install process with Stellar Power. Thank you RJ and Rage.

Wow, I cannot say enough good things about Ryan and his team! I hired them to remove our 69 solar…read morepanels and reinstall them after a re-roofing of our home. It's a nerve wracking process but Ryan gave me reassurance things would go well. Upon Ryan's recommendation, we also decided to replace the solar panel racking system installed by Sunrun because we were plagued with roof leaks due to improper sealing of their footings. Ryan and the Northstar team were absolute champs at removing and reinstalling the new system for us. Everyone we dealt with was so professional, kind and easy going. The work was beautifully done and based on all the photos and detail provided by Ryan I am confident we will be safe from leaks going forward. He also had to coordinate the reinstall with our roofer and everyone handled it so well. I 100% recommend Northstar and the team for this task, and also wouldn't hesitate to hire them for roofing based on their strong work ethic and product with our solar project. The price was fair and in line with other quotes I'd received.
