But, the very best thing about it is the kind, caring and helpful employees that really do value your business. I would like to especially recognize an employee by the name of Aundrea who went completely out of her way while she was ringing up my groceries, to notice that the container of tomatoes I was purchasing had a couple of bad ones in the package. She immediately ran over to retrieve a good container without me asking. That is top of the line customer service in my book and I really appreciated her thoughtfulness and care! So, thank you, thank you Aundrea, your kindness didn't go unnoticed, and I wish the store was able to ecognize and reward you as a valued employee!

Ton of specialty items I usually would have to trek into Newport Market for. The bakery had marionberry pies, there is a deli section, and they have organic options! Lots of fruits, veggies plus plenty of gluten free choices too. The store was really really clean with a nice atmosphere and similar aesthetic to Market of Choice but seems to provide more value and less stress. The best part was my cashier Judy! She was genuinely nice to me, I had a great customer service experience with her. She really made me feel that local true community feeling, honestly how it should be. She was so nice when I mentioned it was my first time - she truly authentically welcomed me with such a kind tone and even walked me through signing up for their points system (much better than Market of Choice coupons this actually adds up toward your grocery bill)!!! We chatted about the store and its history a bit which was cool. I walked away feeling like wow, that was a nice experience! Rare these days even in Bend. This is a sleeper hit for me and is going to be my new go to. I told her I will definitely be back and I will. Without us even asking, she wet some paper towels for my son to put on the back of his neck and got some crackers for him to eat since he was feeling light-headed. She took such good care of him, you would have thought we had known her forever! I have been thinking about her generosity every day since then. But we found lumpia wrapper 3 different types and different types of shoyu, Korea spices sauces and chili pepper flakes and a wide variety of ramens. They also carry some but not a lot of fresh produce, but they do have items that the other supermarket hardly carry like bean sprouts, and Asian vegetables. Lots of parking shared with other retailers in the same complex, but they do have stalls marked off for their customers also.

I'd say about half the store comprises 'regular' goods - canned soups, boxed pasta, sundries, etc., with the rest being interesting instant ramen/pho, spices, teas, candies and other not-so-regular stuff. Much of which you can find far cheaper across the street at Safeway, or at least something close to it. Not everything, of course, but if the local hotel/apartment denizens need a emergency package/can of whatever, not sure why they'd not go to Safeway. Also, and I'm sure this is just a startup issue, but a lot of the goods were unpriced, either on the items or on the shelf labels. Beer, some wine, no produce, a few dairy items, a frozen treat case. Newport Market this ain't. One feature, I'm told, is that they can order anything internationally. In these days of Amazon, I'm not sure how big a draw that might constitute. But maybe. Parking at the Westside Village shopping center is already a bit of a zoo and from what I can see, many of the commercial spaces are not yet tenanted. Those folks looking to go to Banger & Brews might soon be miffed at the difficult parking. A-OK. It's different than the norm here in Bend and that's a good thing.

Don't you hate when you're cooking up a mean Mac n cheese and oh great, the milk is expired..! Luckily Wagners is in a prime location for my area of town and always has whatever I need in stock. The staff in its entirety is wonderful and I love getting to converse when I have the chance in passing with others. This community is one to be proud of and my trips to the grocery store are always quick with no issues. Extra kudos to Miss Melody who always goes above and beyond to make our day and even help with recipe ideas! Wagner's our Hometown Market is really what this place is, I'm thankful for this business in town!
