Four of us came in and made mugs today. You can design them any way you like and it was a lot of fun. We go back in a few weeks to glaze and fire them! It's $40 a person per visit (2 total visits to finish the pieces) and they supply everything. Cathe responded quickly when making an appointment and was super nice. Chris helped us as well and he's great! We didn't use the wheels for the class but she does have that. She also has art classes I'd like to try. Definitely recommend.

We've often driven through on our way to Phoenix or Texas, but today, we wanted to explore "downtown". We made the loop, stopping in at the Route 66 museum, and back to the cute little yarn store my husband had read about. It was a little crowed, with about six to eight people talking, some sitting and working on a project, while others were "shopping" for yarns. The owner was busy talking with customers and working the " spinner" cranking by hand to get their selections spun into a ball. As I walked in the door, she turned and greeted me and invited me into the shop. Immediately, I felt comfortable and wanted to browse around. The owner asked me if I had something particular in mind and I told her no, just wanted to see what she had. I prefer to buy yarn but my senses, I am attracted by texture, and color, then I read the label and find out where it's from, and I then envision in my head what I'll do with it and proceed to make my selections. The owner kindly asked if I would like her to spin it for me, but seeing there are several hanks waiting decided to decline. I am checked out and she puts my selections into a "recycle" bag and given a free logo pencil. She enthusiastically asks me to return soon, which based on my experience will most definitely. Good little shop, nice selections, friendly service, with good prices.

After the first class with Edgar, Annabel was so excited and eager to continue. Edgar spent time with her explaining 'how' to draw... sounds basic, but as it turns out, isn't. Her dog portrait was pretty good for first try. After the second class with Sarah, Annabel emerged saying, "Nana, I love art class, can I go every day?" Well, she is working on a portrait of her and her Mom now and she can't wait for next week's class. Sarah King has a truly very nurturing, nourishing energy and it is palpable in the studio and the other students. After class Wednesday, Annabel drew a picture of her at softball from her phone. Annabel and Nana are so very grateful for the gift of King Art Studio.

Such a cute art gallery in the middle of downtown Kingman. Currently there are artwork and…read moresculptures for sale, and it doesn't take long to view what's there, but I did enjoy looking at the art. I asked an employee whether or not they also sold postcard sized images of the artwork and she told me that that's in the works for the future. I hope it is! While I may not put money down for an artwork that's $100 (or more), I would for something small and much cheaper. There are also art classes here at ArtHub that look super interesting and I wish I could attend, but they're never at the right time for me. You can find information for those classes on their website. I will try to make it to the Artist Talks & Treats later this month though. It's a free event every third Saturday of the month at 10 to 11 am and February's artist is Karen Lopez. ArtHub feels like an art gallery just starting out, but I like what I saw and I appreciate how they're trying to integrate themselves into the community. The world needs more art and ArtHub is doing its best. I can't wait to watch this place grow.

Came here two times several months ago and didn't have the greatest experience. My friends and I…read morevisited during two separate weeks, but it just so happened that both times, the instructors we were supposed to have didn't show up, so we had the same substitute instructor twice. We took a beginner wheel class, but I didn't feel like I learned a lot because the substitute instructor had other priorities. The class started about 30 minutes late, but we didn't get to make up that lost time. And to top it off, the instructor was distracted and dropped the piece (that I wanted to keep) while wiring it off the wheel! I understand that it was a hectic day and the instructor was busy all by themself, so I scheduled another beginner class a week later. But, I had a similar experience, and I still didn't feel like the instructor had their full and undivided attention on us. I feel like I didn't get my money's worth both times. I'm sure the classes and instructors are great, but I don't see myself coming back here.

Instructor Miriam Krasner is awesome! My daughter has been going to her classes for about 2 years…read morenow and I can see a definite improvement in her drawing skills. She also painted a beautiful landscape similar to those Bob Ross paintings. I am so amazed when my child comes up to me with one of her new masterpieces. She just loves Miss Mimi. I highly recommend art classes with Miriam for kids. She works in all kinds of media such as drawing, painting, recycled art, sewing, wood burning, polymer clay, and so much more. She even teaches after school classes at the Doral Academies, but so far, only at Saddle and Cactus. My daughter goes to a newer campus and we really wish they would bring her on board there as well. We have been waiting and waiting...sigh
