They will not offer you a drink, the massage function on the pedicure chair may or may not work, and you may have your service right next to an employee who is eating lunch. However, the prices are very reasonable and the tech who did my nails was extremely thorough and professional. The cuticle, nail bed, and callous treatment was meticulous and the sugar scrub massage was relaxing and not pain painful at all. The first color chosen didnt look as good as it could've (which I didnt mind) so the tech asked me to choose another and I liked this one too. ***** It was much quieter than other nail places I've been, though it did smell strongly of acetone. There are so many negative comments on here that this place does not deserve. I'm a senior in high school I get my nails done every 2 weeks and I take my nail game seriously lol. The Nail salon itself isn't as modern as others but it definitely is NOT dirty. They take their cleanliness seriously and the hospitality is beyond amazing. I notice that all of them greet you and tell you goodbye when you leave. The prices are great as well if your looking for a shop that's not pricy. I recommend going to Linda if you like acrylics and longer nails. She does a great job and I'll include a picture as well. Decided to get a mani pedi before vacation. I'm very satisfied with both! I walked in around 4, no appointment and 3 people were ahead of me. I didn't have to wait too long. It gave me a chance to decide on my color. Got my first French manicure with gel polish. I am hard on my hands so will be happy if I can make it a week without a chip! Absolutely love this location. I usually come in as a walk-in and am greeted right away and usually get started with my technician within 10-30 minutes. I SWEAR by the gel-dip powder nails with extensions, I get them every time! The only issue I've had is when I've gotten my armpits waxed. The two times I've gone to get them waxed my entire armpits came out bloody. I haven't gotten waxed at other locations, so I'm not sure if this is normal but from what I've heard, you're not supposed to bleed much aha. But as far as nails go, I love Silver Nails! read more

Well, I docked one star only because the place needs a bit of a renovation. It's a bit rough looking. However, with that being said I appreciated the fact that my nail tech did everything I asked without giving me any friction or attitude. My tech was Linda and she was very friendly. She wasn't even pushy with the upselling. When she offered gel polish I told her no because I change my mind so often about the color I want lol and she was still friendly after. I asked for a fill on my overlay and one of my nails broke off and she offered to put a tip on, which I declined and went for a sculpt instead. The only criticism I have for her is that when she was filing down my nail for the fill, she pulled off the acrylic from my nail bed with her hands. That's not healthy at all for my natural nails. But she only did it a few times and in the end she went back and made sure my nails were even when I asked her to. And when I messed up my polish on one nail she didn't suck her teeth and say anything to her coworker under her breath lol. She just fixed it and then waxed my eyebrows, pretty well I might add. All in all, it was a great experience for a great price and I walked out of the salon pretty happy, because I got what I wanted at a decent price. read more

I go to this salon all the time for my eyebrows. I started going there recently for gel manicures because it's right next to my work. My first experience the lady who did my nails was rough when it came to cuticles- she cut me really badly and I bled for about 10 minutes. I didn't think much of it. I've been cut before but she didn't even apologize which I thought was rude. This second time I went I asked for plum and the same woman who did it the first time brought the color over and I think it's more of a red/brown than plum but when I told her that she fought me on it. She mixed/shook the bottle 1/2 through my manicure so I have different colored nails. I have two nails that are not straight and it's driving me crazy. I will probably go back to this salon just because it's close to my work and only $30 for a gel manicure but I won't see that lady again. She sit in the Far back to the left on front of the bathroom. I'm here now, and I literally had to tell the lady to disinfect the pumice, dead skin grater and brush before using it on me from the lady that was sitting next to me getting a pedicure! They just spray down foot baths and did a quick cleaning between customers, no real true deep cleaning in jets or anything.. so that means when jets are turned on, bacteria spreads. And she said they don't disinfect the pumice and scraper until the end of the night or between every 3-4 clients. YUCK! How disgusting is it that you are removing dead skin from one person's foot and you rinse it with water and use that on the next client. I can't..... last time here. If you decide to come here for pedicures, think twice and take proper precaution so you don't end up with a nasty fungus! read more

This place was so awful! I asked for short almond nails and she made then long and kinda square but that wasn't such a big deal. But then she made my fingers bleed. And then she PUT THE ACRYLIC ON MY FINGER! I asked her to fix it and she never did. It hurt so badly I had to cut and file them myself. She also was so sloppy about the color. It looked so poorly done. It was lazy. She let me leave with chipped polish! My friend also asked repeatedly for short nails and her nail tech kept saying "they'll look bad short" and she said "but I want them short" and then continued to charge her for ling nails even though she asked for short nail. He took the time to find out what I did for a living and suggested doing a little thicker than normal on my nails since I work at a vets on the weekend so they would last longer. The place was poorly stocked with polish colors, doesn't do "pink and white" nails, and the lady who gave me a pedicure was so rough I thought it was a form of punishment. My manicure... I will spare the details but it ended with me leaving with: unfinished nails, bleeding on three different fingers and a full refund for the manicure. She was about to polish my toes, when I inquired about the anti-fungal ointment, she replied that they don't have it, and I should to Sally's and buy it. I acquired this fungus at SILVER NAILS, due to their dirty pedicure tools/foot tub. When I called the manager she told me that it was not her problem and I would not be reimbursed for the anti-fungal ointment. I went to have my gel manicure taken off, as it was old. Instead of putting a solution on each fingernail and wrapping each in foil to soften the gel, the manicurist took what looked like PLIERS and pulled off the hard gel. IT HURT! She hurt my thumb so badly that it was cut to the quick all the way down the side. Don't go there. read more

Horrible nail salon. The cleanliness of the facility is disgusting. Ceilings with leaks, dirty floors and walls, and the presentation is just an overall disgust. They do not clean their tools thoroughly, and it is very evident. Their are only 3 technicians, and there use to be 4. Kim, was the best technician and now she has left. I went to this salon mainly for eyebrows only. I have had a pedicure twice, but after the conditions I observed I stopped and use Top Nails in Odenton. I've been a customer here for about two years and overall the ladies working here are decent and do a good job; however, the guy working the front desk has been rude to me and ignored me most of the time. Today, he was overtly rude just because I went back to see who was working and made a comment I was rude for going to see who was working doing pedicures. There was one customer ahead of me and he asked me who was going to do my service. I said it doesnt matter and he said that something to the effect that I didn't have a choice. I sat there patiently and instead of him taking the walk in that he could have. He let the other woman do here while he did not take me as a customer or switch with her. And the othe lady working there said I'll take you after I'm done her. I said she didn't have an appointment and the othe guy could have taken her so you could do my pedicure since he didn't do pedicures. He spoke up and said he didn't do manicures either and I said why not? Of course he no good answer to that and always is doing nails in the front. I said I'll take my money and give to other local Vietnamse people that are not rude to me. The best thing they like to do is lie to you about the wait --- 5 minutes, they promise. But, what they don't tell you is that they'll put you in the chair for the pedi but NO ONE WILL EVERY COME. I've timed it on my phone once and I sat there, with my feet in the rapidly cooling water, for 15 minutes waiting on someone. They're a waste of time and money. What pedi's I have managed to get from them were very painful as they dug into my skin with clipper trying to "round my nails" even after I clearly told them to cut the square. Okay. So I normally go to my normal nail salon in downtown D.C. (Andre Chreky Salon Spa) unfortunately I wasn't able to because of my lack of transportation. I decided to go to a more convenient one but not in any way more professional or worthy of anyone time. I walked in to just get brows which I LOVED. She was so nice and my Brows never looked better. I paid a very inexpensive amount of $7 dollars. (Deal). I walked out and then thought why not take a chance and get my nails done big mistake. I do acrylic tips. At first the service was well. The nail Tec was a male who I then found out was the owner! After the tips were put on and the acrylic was applied he filed and filed and filed I have never experienced so much filing. After he was done taking off my cuticles he passed me on to another nail Tec to polish after I told him I would rather not have a design done today. As she began polishing I noticed that the acrylic at my cuticles was practically gone as she polished very well I made fairly clear to the guy that started my nails the problem. He said that my cuticles were pushed to far back and that I am wrong. I didn't ask for any money back but for him to fix what he did wrong he said to me that I need to leave and insisted that I didn't come back. Not once did he apologize or try to make my experience there better I would not recommend anyone have services here. His staff is excellent but his customer service as an owner is atrocious. read more
