I decided to visit Glow Nail Bar in a whim. I had grabbed something to eat next door and randomly stopped in. It is really nice on the inside and the front desk staff was friendly. It was the weekend so it was PACKED but I was seated immediately. I was seated in the last pedicure station so it was a bit cramped because it was close to the wall. My nail tech was Vicky and she was great. She was nice, thorough, and gave a great massage but was a little rough at times. I got the Sugar Scrub Pedicure with gel polish. The prices were on par with other shops. I had a great experience and would likely go back. read more

I've been coming to Glow for a few years now, and I absolutely love it. The salon is very clean on the inside, and while getting serviced they offer wine, soft drinks, and water. The prices are listed online and overall they are priced competitively with other nail salons in the area. I only go to BeBe, and each and every visit is a 10/10 experience. BeBe is the absolutely best. She has done my nails for my engagement, my photo shoot, my wedding, my vacations, and just any other time I want to get my nails done! Most recently, I came in wanting to get a set for the Beyoncé concert, and BeBe did amazing! I showed her an inspiration picture and she did exactly what I wanted. Would highly recommend. read more

The inside of this salon is beautiful. I really love the top of the line pedicure. You get the VIP treatment baby. They take you to a private area, give you snacks, cocktails, a heated neck pillow, personalized care and after your pedicure is over they treat you with a 5 minute neck and back massage. I've been to this salon twice, a year apart. The first visit, in February 2025, was pleasant, but the results were low quality. A gel-X nail popped off a week after the service. Although the pedicure looked nice, the amount of dead skin left on my toes was excessive. Fast forward to two weeks ago. I was dealing with deep grief and needed a relaxing experience, but it was anything but that. My gel manicure was rushed, and my cuticles have been peeling for the past two weeks. The polish started cracking after a week, and the polish on my thumb is chipped. The pedicure looks as though it was done two months ago. The technician did the worst job I've ever had. I also had to fix her sloppy work when I got home because it was that bad. I even had to go back after leaving because I noticed she didn't even paint my pinky toe. It was neither a good look nor the vibe I needed. I felt rushed, forgotten, and then rushed again. Never again. read more

I've been going here ever since it opened. LOYAL customer. Went to a couple other nail places here and there when I don't want to make the drive, but they were never as good at Glow and now I ONLY go to Glow. I live 25 minutes away, but I always go back to Glow to get my pedicures cause they're THAT GOOD. Occasionally gotten manicures done, only because my job requires me to have short bare nails, still loved the experience. LOVE how clean and sanitary it is. New tools, lined bowls, new packaged products every time. Never have to worry about getting an infection or anything. Every staff member is super friendly and polite. The paint job and services are top notch every time. LOVE LOVE LOVE the place. However, recently, in the past several months, service/environment has been sub-par. I've noticed, Chan, the owner isn't there as much. The music is loud club style, not relaxing, which is whatever. But my main gripe is that the VIP room isn't being treated as such. I pay $100+ for my pedicures every month because I love how empty and relaxing the VIP room is. It's supposed to be and usually is near empty, quiet, relaxing. But recently it's been packed with people chatting away on their phone, with each other, people not paying for VIP service. Today the technician (I won't name names), was chatting away gossiping about a friend to another employee while doing my pedicure! I understand that if they don't have room, they will use the VIP room for regular pedicures, but that's totally unfair to people paying for a VIP service and not receiving it. If I'm going to experience this moving forward, I might as well look for other places. The same experience for half the price. I really really hope that changes are made so I can keep going back here. read more

I had a very pleasant experience at Glow Nail Bar! The service was good and they offered many drink options. The space is very big and tranquil which helps set the pampering vibes. And my nail tech was really good! I accidentally messed up my toe nail polish while walking to get my finger nails done. They immediately addressed it and made sure everything looked good to me before I left. I will be back for sure! read more

Although they were nice about it I couldn't help but feel like i was being singled out for some reason... I've been to this nail salon 3 times and 2 out if 3 have not been favorable. This will be my final visit. Came in for a simple pedicure as I am attending an event this evening in DC. I have gotten an "American" pedicure for years in DC, NJ, Philly & NYC/NY state. Pink base & Funny Bunny which softens the stark white of a regular French pedicure. But today I'm told if I get the American pedicure the polish will not last because the white part of polish is hand drawn and works best with gel, otherwise it will jot last. Scratch my head as I have gotten American manicures & pedicures for almost 2 decades. Just selected another color and graciously left. I'm not arguing or debating over a pedicure. Ruined the vibe I was feeling so, will make alternative options in the future as this salon hasn't worked out for me. The wait to be seen was 30-40 min but I should have made an appointment. Of course a nail salon is going to be busy on a Say afternoon. But once I was seen my nail tech Emily was so sweet, professional and we made small talk. My nails were a horrible mess and she made them look pretty. I really wanted to treat myself because I always do my nails myself. I got a milk and honey pedicure and the person that was doing my service was Lynn. The sugar scrub she was putting it on like lotion- barely rubbing it in. Didn't really trim/push back my cuticles Did not shape my nails they are uneven and have sharp edges. When she was painting my nails she put on her glasses and was really focusing and was fixing it up with a brush. But more than half my nails are not completely painted. A lot of missing spots. My friend got a basic manicure by tiff She picked out a light pink shade and tiff left to grab it after her saying no to gel. Tiff ended up just giving her a clear coat that was in a pink bottle. (My friend thought it was the pink she chose) She got an almond/round shape and it was uneven on the sides (one side was more angled than the other on one nail for all of them). A lot of people were recommending this place to me and I was really disappointed with the service. I could have just gotten not the best technicians. So excited to get a whole set of nails spent a week looking at pictures brought it in and unfortunately, I got Theo he barely looked at my picture. He had no communication skills at all and I just left miserable. I got three days till my vacation so I'll be heading to a new salon to try to get these ones fixed. First time going and I was a walk in. I wanted to get acrylic overlay on my natural nails after wearing gel polish for about a month. I was paired with Hayley who listened to my desires to continue growing my natural nails. We discussed a variety of options and decided on Dip Powder. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and explained I like clean, classy, but a corporate baddie look. She executed the look I was going for and still made them look like acrylic. I have had services at glow nail bar 4 times... Pros: - New Nail Spa - Clean - Serves beverages (including wine) and refreshments - Friendly management - Pleasant admin staff - Member program where you earn points and $ off services - VIP area for luxury services Cons: - Not all nail techs created equal (meaning they don't all provide the same level of service here) - Can be pricey when looking for specific designs - Some of the techs won't acknowledge if they are unable to do a design and try anyway only to mess up (in my situation the nail tech performing my service asked another colleague to come over and do the design --- which didn't come out as I would have hoped) - When management is out, the techs don't seem as on point as I have seen them on previous visits Summary of my services: Royal Pedicure (VIP) - $85 Gel Manicure - $40 Nail Design - $20 Overall: It's a nice nail spa compared to others in the area. Varying on your service selections, it can become a bit expensive for what you get. read more

Jonathan is my constant nail technician. He is very detailed, professional, and polite. He listens to your concerns, wants, and delivers exactly what you expect. I am usually a classic short nail dip type but this time I asked for something a little different for an upcoming vacation. I am pleased. I have gone to almost all of the nail salons in this area and have been very disappointed. I started going to glow when it first opened and I am still going. I like that Chan's very involved and I believe he wants customers to have a great experience. I enjoy having Kathy as a technician she is great! I was in the area for a birthday party but also needed my lip waxed before nail salons closed. I never have been here but it was the closest to where I was going. I just needed a lip wax. This lip was for my birthday. The salon was very nice looking however the lady who waxed my lip either left a bruise or burned me with the wax. Don't be confused as to why I'm giving this place two stars even the nail tech did an awesome job on my pedicure. They still treat their customers like cattle! Are the free snacks and glass of complimentary wine amazing? Yes! But at what cost? The cost is being seen as dollar Signs and not human beings. I went this past Sunday for a pedicure and white check in was efficient and breezy, it also felt cold and calculating. The atmosphere is gorgeous and posh I thought to myself "This might be the one" All that was thrown out the window when as soon as I sat in the pedicure chair the nail tech pulled out a efile. For what? My toes were unpolished! The kicker and reason for two stars was this poor ole lady came in with long thick toenails she mentioned she just got out of the hospital and needed a over due pedicure. All the nail techs and supervisor got flustered. All of a sudden there was an extra fee and he announced to the room all her "toenail business" as if he were on trial. Just say you're afraid of black people and stop patronizing us Never mind I just won't be patronizing this here establishment...did I mention that my pedicure came out great! ;-) read more

I only went here today because my normal nail tech does not availability until next week and my nails were looking crazy. Also, the salon was in various states of disrepair. The furniture is cracked and looks super run down. I would not recommend coming here unless you like being overcharged.

As he continued, I suggested to move the heated UV lamp further away from my nail bed as the temperature and position he had it in was burning my nail bed. I mentioned this as a reminder several times. When I got home that evening, I had to take Tylenol and add ice to my nails to sooth the burning sensation. At this point, I was concerned because the burning radiated from my fingers up my arms. Went the at shop opened, I contacted Ken to let him know what happened. He had me come in to remove the gel. I also asked for compensation, at least a percentage of my money back or have him do dip set later. Jennifer told me they took the gel set off, and took time doing my nails, so there was no compensation or refund of any kind. I suggested to file an insurance claim as this was an injury due to a product they provided. She told me insurance will not pay for it and she didn't see whether I deserved a refund. I have never experienced this sort of hospitality or service at any nail salon. I came here as a referral from a coworker. While still getting familiar with this area, I thought this place would offer great service. If you are thinking of getting nails done at here, be aware because it's not about customer service it's more about money for them. I always wondered why fee for services changed often when I got the same thing each time. Hidden fees no consideration for how they treat their customers. Deluxe pedi and gel with 2 horrible nail designs totaled - $145 and still burning from lamp. Go someplace else. UPDATE: Several hours later, Jennifer, the owner, left me a voicemail asking me to call her back. I returned the call believing she might offer an apology, discount, or some form of resolution. Instead, the conversation focused on my review and why I had posted it. She reiterated that because I chose the service, I was not entitled to any compensation. When I suggested continuing the discussion after she finished with her customer, she declined and continued explaining why she would not provide a refund, discount, or credit. This entire experience was disappointing. Mistakes and adverse reactions can happen, but what stood out to me was being told, "I'm not going to argue with you," when I was simply expressing surprise and concern about what had happened. I was not arguing at all, and the comment felt dismissive. I was left wondering whether I was being treated differently, possibly because I am an African American woman. Regardless of the reason, I did not feel heard or respected during the conversation. Reactions can happen, but how a business responds to a customer who has been injured or harmed by a service says a lot about its values. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed, blamed, and left without any Potential customers should be aware of my experience and make their own informed decision. Wow

She transitioned to Aprés Gel-X instead, and still made changes from the original inspiration photo to simplify needs and costs after consulting with the nail tech. The final result was absolutely gorgeous and prom-ready! The only surprise was the number of additional fees added throughout the appointment, so she called me a few times to confirm costs before proceeding. I was happy to cover it for such a memorable milestone event. In the end she got one nail with light blue french tip, two nails painted blue and two nails with painted butterfly or flower design on each hand where in her original design it was a different design on each nail. While we will likely continue using our regular salon for routine nails due to the pricing structure here, I would recommend Nail Haven for weddings, prom, and other special occasions depending on your design aspirations.

I called Saturday morning, and the front desk receptionist informed me that several other customers who chose black had been experiencing the same issue. He advised that I would need to speak directly with Jade to schedule a fix. When Jade returned my call, she repeatedly told me she "couldn't put black polish on my fingers," but never initially mentioned that there had been known issues with the black polish. I only learned that after speaking with the receptionist. She offered me a discount to fix them, but I had already paid twice -- and tipped twice -- under the impression that the problem was something I had done. At that point, I didn't feel I should have to pay again for an issue that clearly wasn't my fault. When I returned to the salon, Jade's attitude felt cold and unapologetic. There was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, despite the fact that I live 30 minutes away and had already made two extra trips back. I only needed six nails fixed, and it didn't feel like my situation was treated as a priority. In the end, she did fix them without charging me -- which I appreciated, because I would not have paid again. But overall, I left disappointed. If the issue with the black polish had been communicated honestly from the beginning, this entire situation could have been handled very differently. I recently had a fantastic appointment at this salon, and I want to remember the three names that made it special - Wendi, Kenny, and Elvis! Despite arriving 10 mins late due to horrible traffic, they were incredibly accommodating and ensured that I received top-notch service. Elvis took the initiative to match me with Wendi, a skilled nail technician who expertly shaped my almond nails. Wendi was gentle and meticulous when removing my acrylic nails, taking great care not to damage my natural nails. Kenny then shaped my nails to perfection. The entire team has fantastic personalities and made me feel welcome and at ease. The online booking tool is a bit cumbersome because you have to select every little thing you want before your service or they may not have time to do it so that's something to beware of. The salon is immaculately clean and inviting, and the complimentary wine was a lovely touch. The front desk receptionist is super sweet and she was also friendly and easy to chat with. I visited Glow Nail Bar in Gambrills and had an unfortunate experience with my nail technician, Theo. He wasn't personable, making my first visit quite unpleasant. Throughout my gel pedicure, he kept glancing at his watch. I tried to lighten the mood by jokingly asking if he had a date, but he didn't even respond. It felt like he was more interested in leaving than giving me a quality service. My daughter pointed out that the gel polish looked sloppy, with uneven lines and inconsistently filed toenails. I've been on the hunt for the perfect nail bar/salon for ages. For five long years, I've been trekking 45 minutes to my old nail salon. But finally, I think I've found my new home at GLOW.
