Pizits Food Hall has always been a great spot for affordable, diverse food options. I've been to this stall a few times, and everything I've ordered has always been great! What we ordered: Chicken Tikka Masala Rice Bowl- Rice, chicken tikka, kachumber (tomatoes and cucumbers), and a side of raita (yogurt dip/dressing) Chicken Tikka Malasa Salad Bowl- Mixed green, chicken tikka, sauteed bell peppers and onions, and a side of raita (yogurt dip/dressing) These were fairly large portions, you get your money's worth! These were both super filling and flavorful. Naan- 10/10; This was just plain, buttered naan but it was incredible. This was my favorite of the two breads that we ordered. Paratha- I've had better paratha before but this one was still really good! The food came out in just a few minutes, fresh and hot! It made for such a great, inexpensive lunch. read more

I am giving 2 stars because the service was okay but zero stars for the food. The fish tikka masala was inedible. I don't think it was real fish. It had some type of breading and there was a weird red color between the breading and "fish". It took me hours to get the unpleasant taste out of my mouth. The sauce and rice had no flavor. I decided to give this place a try when I was in the food hall waiting for a Sidewalk Cinema event to start. The aromas caught my attention and the staff member there was kind enough to break down the menu and help me make choice. I settled on this fried rice esc dish, really hate I can't remember the name anymore :/ Nevertheless, the flavors did not disappoint! I really enjoyed the fresh herbs and splash of lemon. Indian food is not my typical go to but I decided to try a bit at this food hall. One of the specials was butter chicken so I chose that along with an order of samosas. The samosas had good flavor..a bit thick for my liking but the spice level was great and the dipping sauces were tasty. Butter chicken was super flavorful. I had the Kati roll with Chicken Tikka Masala. I was a little disappointed. The Kati roll was hot, but a little too greasy. The Chicken Tikka Masala was a little off too. The portion was nice, and the flavor was okay. The problems were the chicken was overcooked. Some of the pieces of chicken breast were very dry. And, the sauce was spicy, but it was not consistent. Some bites were nice and spicy (I like heat) and the next lacked any spiciness. Maybe the spice was added later, and not mixed in well. Silver Kati is owned by the same family that runs Silver Coin in Hoover. Silver Coin is a full service restaurant, and I'm a huge fan. I'm sure there are other combinations on the Silver Kati menu that I would have enjoyed more, and would recommend. read more

I love the Pizitz Food Hall. I've been to this food hall multiple times, but for some reason have always walked past this place. I love Indian food, but my experience of having good quality Indian food in Bham have been subpar so I was skeptical at trying new places. But today was the day, I was craving some tikka Marsala and some samosas, so I decided to grab a couple items from this place while my friend went to her go-to place (Ono Poke, also one of my favorites). I went with the Kati roll with chicken tikka Marsala and two samosas. Total of around $15. Kinda pricey, but I would say the quality of the food was worth the price. Portions are decent, not a lot, but also not skimpy. Loved the crispy hot Kati roll, very flavorful chicken tikka Marsala. The rice and yogurt sauce also very good. Loved the samosas as well along with their chutni and sweet sauce. Overall, I am happy to have tried this place out. Worth it when I am in the Indian food mood. Very nice staff as well. Silver Kati is conveniently located inside the popular Pizitz Food Hall downtown. Pizitz Food Hall is one of my favorite places to go because of the variety of choices. I confess that I was here this day to eat some Ramen at Ichicoro but when I passed Silver Kati I had to get an order of their samosas. So this is a short and simple review of their samosas. They serve "Indian Street Food" and I will return to try something on their full menu. However their samosas were fantastic. Made fresh, fried perfectly, filled with potato, peas surrounded by a flaky wonderful crust... Yom Yom. It was served with 2 dipping sauces: a red sweet sauce and green chimichurri. I went to Silver Kati with one of my friends and they have many vegetarian options. We both got a paneer kati roll and a samosa. Paneer if cottage cheese and it was marinated in spices and there was a tomato based sauce with with. The samosas had a potatoes and peas filling and it was packed with spices making it very delicious. There was a green chutney that they served with the samosas, which was unusually bright green and lacking in flavor. They are located in the Pizitz food hall which is a great location home to many other restaurants. The service was very quick without compromising the quality of the food. If you want a bang for your buck at the Pizitz, then order the main entree here with rice. The fish tikka masala with rice was a huge portion (rice and fish), and it was very delicious too. I've ordered the Kati roll before, and if I remember correctly, it was a smaller portion for the same price. Their vegetable samosas are also on point. I really hate to go against all the other reviews, but I was not a fan :( I am a HUGE fan of Indian food and have had it across the US and India. I ordered the chicken tikka with a paratha. While the portion was large and I had enough for lunch the next day, the dish itself was bland. Bland and Indian food should never go in the same sentence together because Indian food is known for being flavorful! Even my date who has only had Indian food once prior thought that it was lacking flavor. Additionally, the dish does not come with any type of bread and the only kind they have is paratha. I found it pretty odd that they didn't have naan or roti/chapati, these are staples to go along with your dish. The employee was extremely sweet and kind. What impressed me most was the freshness of the ingredients. The green sauce that came with the samosas was very fresh and tasty. The samosas were flavored evenly and tasted very good. The chicken tikka was also very fresh. It came with a little bit of salad on top and fresh yogurt which complimented it very well. They have levels of spicy and we asked for medium and it was just right. I think next time I will ask for it to be hotter. But it was great. I had heard about this new spot at Pizitz and wanted to try it out. I headed there for dinner tonight and ordered a rice bowl with chicken. I chose the tikka masala sauce and was very pleased I did. I like how there aren't too many things on the menu to choose from because it keeps it from being overwhelming. The food tasted wonderful. It was not spicy at all. The yogurt was very good and refreshing. The amount of food was also really good. The food was not dry. You could tell the chicken and everything was made fresh and hadn't been sitting all day. Came here one afternoon to try them out at the Food Hall. Like most restaurants in the Pizitz, they operate in a fast casual system. The man that took my order was extremely nice and helpful. I decided on the Kati Roll with chicken and tikka masala sauce. It comes with rice and raita. The sandwich was really good, but could have used a bit more sauce. The rice didn't have too much flavor, but was a nice accompaniment to the meal. I also ordered a samosa that came with sweet, spicy, and herbal sauces. Love the Indian street food! Me and Bubs came to try the Kati rolls which are porota bread (crispy flaky goodness) rolled with your choice of stuffing - chicken, veg, chola! We tried all three, the chicken I got with the saag (spinach). Flavor on point for all three! Comes with raita dipping sauce and a side of rice. The rice doesnt make sense with the rolls because there's nothing to eat it with but maybe some jeera (cumin) seasoned fries or something along those lines makes sense. My first experience ordering my own Indian food. Really helpful service, I usually stay away from spices and the man behind the bar helped me choose what was right for me. I got a fish Kati (fish breaded wrap) with a sambosa on the side. The sambosa was really good!! Super flavorful with a bit of heat and a delicious sweet dipping sauce. The fish Kati left a bit to be desired but I believe that's because I left the tikki Marsala sauce and spinach sauce on the side. All the sauces were good, especially the yogurt one. The basmati rice was light and fluffy. Very cheap- 13 dollars for 2 plates of food. Highly recommend for a quick, yummy bite! read more

Generally speaking I feel like all of the food restaurants in the Pizitz building are a little over priced and a little underwhelming, but this place is okay by me. It is still a little overpriced for the portions, but the food isn't bad. I ordered the chicken tikka kati roll. The chicken was okay and the flavor of the tikka masala was pretty good. I think what really set it apart though was the paratha (doughy wrap). It was the perfect texture that brought everything together perfectly. The raita (yogurty sauce) was also delicious. Was slightly disappointed by this meal. The chicken wasn't chewy or tender like I've had before in other curries. I did enjoy the rice and yogurt sauce with the cucumber mix. When I first received the order, it didn't come with the cucumbers so I asked the employee about it at the front. He said they had just ran out but would be willing to make some more and bring it to my table which I appreciated. But I did find it a little weird that if I hadn't mentioned it, it would have just not come with it. My friend ordered the Kati roll version of it and I'd consider getting that next time. Meal didn't really fill me up as much as I thought it would, could get a more filling meal with the same amount of money the curry cost. I love Indian food and my favorite dish is Tikka Masala. Tikka Masala apparently has 18 ingredients so I refuse to make it myself. I'd probably mess it up anyway. So, it's nice to get your favorite dish made authentically. My husband and I ordered one Tikka Masala and a couple of orders of samosas. I like this restaurant being at The Pizitz food hall. You can order and take your food to the bar. The only thing I wonder is if they have naan bread, I didn't even ask. If you've never had freshly made naan bread your missing out!! All of the food was perfect!! We especially loved the sauces that are given with the samosas (fried pockets with chicken and potatoes inside). There was a green sauce that was perfectly balanced with Serrano peppers & mint, chutney. So good!!! Go try Silver Kati when you get a chance. Very good!!! read more

The crispiness of the bread gives it a perfect amount of crunch, and I love the flavor of the spices they use to marinate the chicken. So I don't normally come to pizitz because it's underwhelming. Restaurants don't last here so it's hard to want to come back. However, because I've eaten at every other Indian spot in Birmingham, it was only right to finally try this place. Same people as silver coin. So for a kati roll with a little rice and raita and a Limca came out to be $13. That's something I have trouble with because although that's the standard rate for Indian food here...this is less then half the food I get at other places. I guess they have to charge you a lot to survive in a food hall. The food was okay..the roll which is basically made of roti is very good. I chose to get tofu with Tikka masala because paneer isn't an option. The tofu just doesn't taste as good - it's dry and in my opinion doesn't absorb the sauce/spices as well. Although I appreciate having tofu as a vegan option. Not sure it was worth the money. I may be back to try a few other items on the menu but don't think I'll be doing much with their tofu! read more

The guys that run this stall are always nice as can be and are eager for you to try their specials, which are always delicious. The Kati rolls are always fresh, well-packed, and crispy. I am an Indian and from Calcutta where Kati roll is a street food. The Indian food in this restaurant is pretty pathetic. The Kati roll is utterly disappointing. It just lacks flavor and it's dry. They are lazy to put same tikka chicken (which is very dry) inside the Kati roll. The mint sauce was not authentic either. Momo is much much better. read more
