The food here was fantastic. The service was horrible. Our server was a nice guy, he just couldn't get it together. I sat down and ordered a shake right away. He brought out our waters and we ordered our food. I also asked for a bag of ice I could put on my sore hand and he said no problem. Our food came out and I still didn't have my shake or the ice. When I asked him about the shake he said she (the girl making them) had been slammed and he would check on mine. At that point it seemed obvious that he forgot to put in my order. In the meantime, I took ice out of my water and put it into one of my ziplock travel bags. When I finished eating I walked up to the front and asked to speak with a manager. The hostess went in the back to find him and never came back. After about 5 min I went over to where the girl was making shakes to ask if she had my order. She was yelling at a server that she had put his order on the counter and it wasn't her fault if someone else took it. I stood there for several minutes and she never even turned around to look at me. Her machine was loud so she didn't hear me try to get her attention. So I walked back to the kitchen doorway and asked someone wearing a different colored shirt if she was a manager. She said no but what could she help me with. I told her it had been well over 45 min since I ordered my shake and I'm done with my meal-and I've asked to speak with a manager but he is nowhere to be found. She said she would check on it. I went back to my table and my shake was delivered a few minutes later with an apology and I was told it would be taken off my check. A few minutes later the manager came by and apologized and said he took an additional 20% off my check. When he left my table he went to another table and told them the same thing. So in the end they basically made it right, but the experience was so tainted by the bad service I can't give them more than 2 stars. Had it not been for the good food they would only get 1 star from me. read more

Usually have good experience here, first time having breakfast today. Coffee was excellent, good flavor & fresh. Ordered huevos rancheros which unfortunately should probably be called "taco salad with egg" , even comes in a bowl with large fried tortilla chips. read more

Waitress didn't write anything down, husband ordered dry rye-- got biscuit. Waitress had to be flagged down for correct order and coffee. Never offered coffee refills. Asked for crisp bacon; it was limp. Pancakes were raw! read more

Silver Diner - Diners Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

This is the best place when your at BWI. I almost always order the Rancheros as they are some of the best I have had and cannot get these back home. The service is usually great but occasional it can be backed up because of the flight schedules. They do good burgers as well and have a good beer selection. read more

So I have low expectations of airport restaurants. Few can get it right, which is really confusing to me. The greeting experience is a bit odd with people just yelling your name like fishwives in a market. No customer service at all. The server started off great but she slowly stopped coming back. The crab cake sliders, coleslaw and Citrus Salad were pretty awesome. Flavorful, well executed, and nicely presented. But I had a real challenge finding someone to pay, as my waitress was engaged in a lengthy conversation with a coworker. And the girl at the to go counter was too busy texting. A manager finally took my card, but then tried to give it back to the other person at the counter! I think a huge retrain session is the next order up in this diner! read more

Had dinner here and found the menu really diverse and healthy, which is rare in any airport! I had the salmon wasabi slider and citrus salad, it was really delicious! And the service was very good. I will definitely come back again. read more

Wow- a lot of options for vegetarians and vegans. Had a lovely cup of vegetarian chili. Very friendly service.

I'd give this place half a star if I was able. We waited to be greeted at our table for at least 10 minutes and eventually left. As a frequent traveler I rate restaurants on timely service as well as quality. Airport restaurants should have a minimum standard of faster service to accommodate those who are traveling. read more

Now, usually I go to silver diner and have a pretty good time. I will say, this was some of THE WORST service I have had at a restaurant in a long time. The waitress took a moment to take out order when we sat down, no problems since it was a bit busy. Since this is an airport location, you would think they have a bit of pep in their step and may be attentive to their customers. This was not the case. It's took over 30 minutes to bring our waters and drink orders, which we left while she was bringing them out. Ridiculous. read more

The person who seated me on 09/30/2014 at 5 pm was exceptionally rude. To the point that i felt obligated to write a review of the place.

Best fish tacos anywhere! Flounder in tacos was delicious and plentiful. This place is way better than the Phillips at the other end of the terminal. A surprisingly good find. Dont let the diner name fool you ... This place is way above a diner. read more

As an airline pilot, I am constantly looking for food that keeps me healthy. In an airport, you will be hard pressed to get a better meal than this! Having been here countless times, it is my go-to spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Servers remember my name, and I like the music on the jukebox. read more

The first time I ate food from here was to go and to be fair the Creekstone burger had gotten cold by the time I ate it so I can't really review that properly. However the second time I ate here - I ate it fresh and at the restaurant. First let me just say, I absolutely love the fact that this place is so vegan and vegetarian-friendly. You would never expect that from a diner but this place really caters to all. I decided to order breakfast and got the pancakes, eggs, and potatoes and my friend ordered the vegetarian huevos rancheros. We shared off each other's plate and let me tell you - I really enjoyed my food. The buttermilk pancakes were SO incredibly fluffy and were probably one of the best pancakes I have ever had. The potatoes were seasoned well, but I wasn't really a fan of my eggs - I think they were extremely overcooked. The vegetarian huevos rancheros were also a real treat. I love how unique the flavor combinations were! It had sweet potatoe, beets and brussel sprouts, all things you wouldnt expect would taste good together but somehow worked. Our waitress was really friendly and the food came out fast. I would definitely come back here again but I really wish they were open 24/hours in a true diner fashion. read more

Really good considering it's in an airport. I had crab and corn soup. Very good and good portion. Wife had brussel sprouts and quinoa. Very good too. Sweet potato fries and organic ketsup completed the meal. Highly recommended. read more

Every airport should have a place like the Silver Diner. Comfort food, vegetarian and gluten free conscious and reasonably priced with good service. Grateful to find this place tonight!! read more

The dinner is in prime real estate in the airport. Food is good for the locale. Service is great when you walk in, everyone helps out to get your meal to the table and drop off the check, but they never come back to collect the bill. During my wait to pay I watched as the speed and attentiveness of the wait staff slowed down per customer the longer the customer sat. read more

Split the Cheese Fries and the Appetizer Sampler with friends. They were average but I still ate them. The Silver Diner is a good place to kill time waiting for your flight. They have a good variety on their menu and a decent beer selection. read more

I have not dined in at the Silver Diner, but I occasionally grab something from their express shop. Their salads are very good. Decent portions and always fresh. Be sure to ask for extra dressing as salads are larger than their dressing allotment. The staff isn't too friendly though, so beware. My experiences with the staff at the express is what generally prohibits me from sitting down and dinning in. read more

In the grand scheme of airport restaurants, I actually kind of like this one. I fly through BWI fairly frequently and this is my typical go-to restaurant. They have a fairly broad menu and the food is pretty decent as far as airport fare goes. The fried Brussel sprouts are pretty delicious. The black bean quesadillas are a little weird and a little spicy so be careful if you order those and don't love jalapenos. Overall, this is a winner if you have some time to kill in BWI and want to sit down for food, head here (it's near the B and C terminal junction). read more

Everything is local (and is about as healthy as breakfast food can get). Chunky monkey milkshakes are for those adventurous types. Or the classic chocolate shake works too. The Washingtonian magazine says it best: "This longtime chain has undergone a renaissance: You'll still find sky-high layer cakes and gooey omelets, but the burgers are now made with hormone-free beef and local bison, there are healthy shakes, and much of the produce comes from area farms." read more

Great food. Great to see local at airports. Service was fast. Kari gave great customer service. I had the bison meatloaf, which was amazing. I also had a loose cannon IPA, delicious as well. They source foods locally as much as possible. read more

Probably the best Airport food I've ever had. They claim to have locally sourced vegetables and meat, and they were definitely the freshest veggies I've had at an airport. I had the fish tacos, which came with a delicious salad. Really fresh and nice. Each of my companions and I had a food restriction, and we were all able to find something we enjoyed. read more

Food was cold and expensive. My toast was like chewy cardboard. And the Service was slow. They were supposed to deliver the (included) biscuit to our table and never did. When I complained, the manager gave our server a dollar to give us to refund our biscuit. How insulting. I won't be coming back. read more

The one redeeming thing about this diner is the staff. They were friendly. They were courteous. My waiter was great. The food was awful. They told me after ordering and waiting 20 minutes that they were out of the main ingredient in my dish and wanted to make sure it was okay. Needing to cath read more

I gotta say I was quite surprised, this being a diner in an airport terminal. However, the staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Vegetarian Omelet with egg eaters and it was probably the best omelet I've ever had! It was perfectly cooked and delicious! That is hard to do with egg beaters. I would highly recommend this place if you have a Southwest flight out of BWI. read more

At any airport, one doesn't usually find the friendliest staff, but Cheryl W at the diner was a breath of fresh air. Friendly and welcoming, she helped to make a hectic day a little bit more pleasant. I ordered one of her recommendations, a chicken piccata, and even though it was a low cal offering, not my norm, it was surprisingly flavorful and interesting and I cleaned my plate. Guilt free. My sons chicken tenders and fries were decent too. read more

Awesome diner food! Crabcake omlet and pancakes (I swear they dip them in caramel before they cook them)are bomb! Who knew airport food could be so good! read more

I travel pretty often and I almost always come here for breakfast at the airport before my flights. The service is usually good desktop them always being busy. The citrus salad with salmon is my all time favorite. So amazing and healthy too. Breakfast items are good too. Huge selection to choose from and something for everyone. They also seem to offer a lot of bison meat. I like this way better than any other silver diner I have been to. read more

This place was a welcome surprise inside of an airport. I was expecting your standard diner fair. Instead I found a farm to table menu with lots of delicious options. read more

Needed Breakfast at 1200...flight at 1230....go to Silver Diner..hot coffee! Pancakes! Eggs! Good service and I made my flight!

Meh. If you're stuck in the airport and hungry this place gets the job done. Fairly priced mediocre food, it's in an airport so you can't expect much more. I had eggs, sausage, home fries and a biscuit, ok size portions for the money. Service was super fast so no worries on missing our flight, our server did forget the soup I ordered and I had to take it to go. read more

Returned to this airport restaurant. Previously had breakfast. Had a burger this time. Bacon Bleu Cheese with fresh spinach and onion straws. Substituted sweet potato fries for regular - well worth 99 cents. Burger cooked perfectly. Price reasonable considering location (airport). Large portions - saved 1/2 for later. They use local fresh suppliers. Traveling through Baltimore? Make this a must stop! read more

The food was good but..... we had a waitress with a filthy, and I mean FILTHY shirt on. She looked like she hadn't bathed in a month. Her nails were 1 inch long and painted black so god knows what was under them. I complained to the manager and he spoke to her but didn't take her off the floor. She didn't serve our food but she continued to serve others. Too gross to even think about. read more

Sat at the bar. Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. Good selection of draft beers. We had two appetizers, crispy fried Brussels sprouts and southwestern eggrolls. Both were tastier than you'd expect for airport food (no disrespect intended but I've had plenty of experience in that area) and were delivered by friendly kitchen staff. They were helpful in cashing us out in a timely manner for us to make our flight. read more

As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised to be able to eat healthy at a diner AND one in the airport. I had a 4 hr layover on my way home and stopped in to look at the menu which includes edemame, vegan slaw, and fruit sides and appetizers. Even better was the ability to pull in my laptop and get free wi-fi. That was GOLD. It gets crowded and some waitresses I noticed, will try to move you out, but overall a very friendly and healthy place. read more

Had the hamburger sliders and they were really good. Great place to stop and eat if your waiting on your flight.

On our first trip through Baltimore, my son and I decided to try Silver Diner. We were not disappointed. The Good: My son ordered his standard bacon cheeseburger ketchup only. A good sized, juicy very well made burger. One of the best he has eaten. Since we were in Baltmore, I decided I needed to try some type of crab. The server, Christina suggested I get the crab cake sanwhich over the burger because it wasn't fried and " I want you to have the best experience possible" she said. It did not disappoint. I have nothing to compare it to but the crab tasted fresh and the sauce they serve with it was a tangy, thousand island type dressing with bits if crab too. So glad I ordered it. The Bad; The host asked if we wanted to wait for a table or sit at the counter. We opted for the counter since they appeared busy. He neglected to tell us that the counter was the one on the other side of the bar so when we tried to sit, the bartender told us that we couldn't sit there because my son is underage. It was embarrassing and thus the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The Service: When we finally found a seat at the counter we only waited a second when Christina took our drink orders. These were brought out fairly quickly and our food orders were not far behind. Since she had recommended the crab cake sandwich, she came back to see how I liked it. What really struck me about her was how friendly she was and how genuinely concerned as to how our meal was. It was a great experience overall especially in an airport where they do such high volume. I would definitely visit and recommend this place again if I am ever in Baltimore. read more

I love the fact that this place has Vegan options. I came to Maryland for a trip and had the hardest time finding food to eat. I ordered the mango stir fry and it was good. It was a bit over priced but what can you do? You're at an airport. If the portion would have been bigger than maybe it would have been worth the price. I wish they had Vegan desserts too but I'm just happy I had something to eat without having to special order it. read more
