Power Breakfast
Amy S.

This place was packed at 7 am on Monday morning. The service was good. She was very pleasant and friendly. This restaurant has the farm to table concept. I ordered the Power Breakfast: Egg whites topped with cremini mushrooms, spinach, roasted tomatoes, feta, turkey bacon, fresh strawberries and fruit, whole wheat toast. Delicious. A great way to start the morning and travel.

This place is busy! The line may seem long, but it moves quickly. Each booth has a jukebox that takes quarters only a true diner experience. I ordered the crab cake platter and everything was delicious, though the tartar sauce was a bit sweeter than I personally like. Overall, it's a great spot to dine if you have a long layover, just keep in mind that service might be a little slower than usual to accommodate the large crowds.

We were flying out of the airport on an early morning flight and decided to stop here for some breakfast. It is a very big diner so they can accommodate a lot of people. The hostess was quick with a lot of energy. The menu had a lot of standard breakfast items. I went with the Denver omelet. It had ham, cheese, onions and green peppers. It was a very big omelet. It also came with a biscuit and either home fries or a fruit cup. I went with the home fries because they came with caramelized onions. My husband got pancakes, eggs and bacon. We both enjoyed our meals.

Sat the bar which is self-sitting. I didn't order any alcoholic beverages. I ordered the crab cake platter which was about $35. It was very good and the Cole Slaw mix had corn it in; sounds odd but it was good! Service was decent and restaurant was clean.

Quick and friendly service. Needed some food after spending a little over 2 hours in the security line. Our order was for a couple of burgers and an omelette. The burgers were just average but the omelette was well made. Usually a fan of Silver Diner but the airport pricing didn't match for the quality of the burgers. Can be a busy place with lots of airport traffic so I recommend asking for your bill when your entrees arrive.

Power Breakfast ($18)

Diner Notes Local Mid-Atlantic chain of restaurants that's been in operation for nearly forty years (ca. 1989), and the currently operate 23 restaurants in the NJ, MD, VA, & DC areas. They're known for their classic American fare using seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients from small, mom-and-pop purveyors. We arrived at this BWI location after a red-eye flight** from Cali and were exhausted and starving. The Good: *I wish I could recall our server's name (wasn't on the receipt fwiw) but she was an older black lady and she was terrific. *Prices were actually fairly reasonable for an airport restaurant. *Crab Omelette was delicious, and I really enjoyed the corn that went with the crab very well. Interesting combo I've never tried before. *Carissa enjoyed her Power Breakfast, which looked more like a salad than a scramble to me, but hey whatever. The Meh: *They have a jukebox at the table, but either I was completely out of it (very possible) or they didn't work properly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Ugly: *I don't know why, but I desperately wanted a beer after that long red-eye flight across the country but got turned down because it "wasn't after six a.m. yet." *pbbbbt* I thought this was America, BROTHERRRRR???!!! 0_O Conclusion: Good breakfast, decent prices, and friendly service. Recommended. **side note: if you can ever avoid doing a red-eye, then seriously don't do it. 10 out of 10 would NOT recommend.

All the sauces!

We decided to go for a big meal prior to our flight across the country, and were SO happy we chose Silver Diner in BWI. First off, our waitress Siobhan was awesome. She was patient and super helpful. We each decided on the hickory smokehouse cheddar burger with sweet potato fries on the side. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the fries were amazing- and how fun Siobhan brought out all the sauces to try! We had a great time. I also got a sundae to go and it was delicious. Highly recommend! Well definitely pop back in here next time we fly out of BWI.

Bison huevos rancheros

You know, I was pretty shocked at how good this place was for airport fare. We decided to eat here during a layover. It was pretty busy and we waited a few minutes to be seated. I did not realize how big this place stretched back and there were many tables and seats. The menu is pretty full of options and we settled for a breakfast, with coffee. At the table there was a cute old school jukebox you could play if you wanted. We both got a coffee and water, it's really solid coffee, and steaming hot. I got the local goat cheese basil balsamic tomatoes omelette that came with fresh fruit and toast. He got the bison huevos rancheros (menu says: crispy whole wheat tortillas, chorizo hash, organic bison, cage free eggs over easy, peppers, salsa Rojas, scallions, cilantro, goat cheese and guac). Generally waffles are my go to for breakfast but I could not pass up goat cheese. My omelette was nicely portioned and filling, there was a proportionate ratio of balsamic and tomatoes to the actual omelette that I could enjoy with every bite. As for his, it was very tasty with a well blend that you could get a little of everything in one bite. We took our time and enjoyed our coffee while we had time to kill during the layover. Definitely a pleasant surprise.

Turkey Club

This place is huge and located at the airport. 50's style diner with table top jukeboxes. Loved the theme. The menu is diverse, so something for everyone. I settled on a Club Sandwich and asked that they only make it a double decker as I always toss that middle piece of bread. The sandwich arrived quickly and was excellent. Nice ratio of ingredients and all tasted fresh. Service was mediocre.

Calvin D.

This. Whatever this sandwich was was the best sandwich I've ever had. Unfortunately, I had this nearly a year ago between flights and can't remember what it is. Looking at the menu, it seems to be unlike anything they currently have. Absolutely downright incredible. Next time I come, I'll be showing them an image of this sandwich, hoping I can be reminded of which one it is, so I can order it again.

Silver Diner

I did not expect to find such a great diner at an airport. Silver Diner at Baltimor is a very interesting exception to the typical terminal eateries, with a touch of 50s. Not only the decor was pleasant, but the food was of high quality. I ordered hanger steak which turned out to be tender, flavorful, and all in all comparable to something I have had in high-end steak house. Friendly service, and decent price for the location.

Compare these "airplane crabcakes" , to what I got.
Alan C.

Well, I'm just going to rip the Band-Aid right off and say it. The airplane food was better.... I had a layover, , and I love a good crabcake. I saw that this place had them. It's Baltimore! What could possibly go wrong? (famous last words... ). I'm seated quickly, I like the fact that it has a good old-fashioned diner vibe. I order the Maryland crabcake platter. The food comes relatively quickly, in addition to the crabcakes, there was a side of fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw tasted good, and the fries were crisp on the outside, and tender in the middle. There was both a tartar sauce, and. An old bay remoulade. In addition to the crabcake, I also used both as a dip for my fries. The sides and the sauces are what save this from being a two star review. Now, let's talk about the crabcakes. They were moist and tender on the inside, but kind of overdone, and tough on the outside. They were seasoned well, but that's the problem. I tasted mostly seasoning and filler, and not that much crab. I was very disappointed I recently flew out of Dulles on United Airlines, and got an upgrade to the front of the plane. The crabcakes on that flight were amazing! Among the best I ever had. And these were "airplane crabcakes!" Food soda, tax and tip, and I was out the door $42 poorer. I don't mind paying extra if it's good food, but In this case, sorry, but it just wasn't. Next time I'm at BWI, I'll just go elsewhere. UPDATE: I did receive a note from the business, inviting me to send them an email to talk about my experience. I sent them a very nice email, explaining my experience and what happened. Guess what? They never bothered to write back to me. Oh well,Too bad, so sad, bye bye.....

Patty Melt with fries!
Jeff R.

Ate lunch here while we waited on our flight. Very busy but the service was good. My patty melt was delicious and the fries were crispy. I would definitely recommend that patty melt. One of the best I have eaten.

Hot coffee starts the morning!

The Maryland Cab soup was good, with a lot of crab and a decent amount of spiciness. I had a French dip type sandwich with fries. I asked for my fries to be extra crispy, they were served kind of soggy and cold. The au jus for my sandwich was literally cold. That said, the food was basic but good.
