Located in the BWI terminal, this is a great diner to relax while waiting for your flight. We have been here twice and both times have been good. Its a great escape from the food courts. The menu has breakfast served all day, lunch and dinner and a cocktail menu. I love the bottomless cup of coffee! The crew are friendly and and attentive. read more

Not the expected airport diner. The menu has a great selection of healthy, hearty and happy food (to keep with the 'h' theme). The service isn't as fast as you'd hope but they do leave a note at the front asking guests to keep their timeline in mind. My crab cakes were very good and my colleague was pleasantly surprised with the quality of her bison burger. Easily the best menu on the terminal stretch. read more

I was in town for my daughters dance competition and needed a quick dinner for my family. We had no clue what we wanted so i figured a diner would be a good choice. I was anticipating an old fashioned diner but it was very different. Set up like an old fashioned diner even with functional juke boxes at the tables. The menu was smaller than what i anticipated and a lot more modern. Organic was the key word on the menu . My daughters ordered chicken tenders and fries. The fries were delish . Thin, hot and fresh. And the chicken tenders ok but not too seasoned . I got buffalo wings and fries, both were good. The waitress warned me the wings were small but i like little wings. Not monster ones . The side salad was super fresh and good. It was a nice size as well. I also tasted the focaccia bread for my moms sandwich which she didn't prefer for her blt but which i thought was delicious (chewy and fresh). The service was excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. The host .. not so much. He just didn't really seem to want to be there. I don't anticipate being in the area again but if i was , i would return. read more

Great service!!! I know it's a diner but the dishes could use better spices. I feel like they use a mediocre supplier but if they swap out, to a better quality supplier, it will give their dishes the extra nudge to put other local restaurants in steeper competition. The menu is massive. The taste is minimal. read more

Initially had a great time. Ordering was easy and the music was Awesome. We got two burgers and they were both super dry and overcooked. Seasoning wasn't the greatest but it's usually not an issue when a burger is cooked right. When it was time to check out the waitress chose her own tip before charging my wife for the meal. Definitely wouldn't have chosen the 22% tip for subpar service myself. It's such a shame too because the restaurant was just so cute but we will not be coming back. read more

I have been hitting Chipolte here at BWI here for years. Getting their Vegan sofrito on three gluten free taco shells. Lines have been brutal long and slow so I went looking for a sit down fast and different menu. Found Silver Diner towards B concourse on the way to C. Their chef "ee-pah" Ype 's new Flexitarian Menu is really cool. Loaded with food and nutritional goodies and options. I got a vegan (took off the ranch etc and the sweet potato fries are probably cross fried.contaminated but I am OK with that.) I got the Aloha Veggie burger on a very tasty gluten free bun!!! This is my second one this week going through BWI on a layover. Very tasty with mango, carrots etc l. There are a few pure began and vegetarian and gluten free options and entrees!! The service was very good and Troy took very good care of me!!! She was terrific. read more

It's hard to mess up breakfast, and Silver Diner does not. While the food arrives uncommonly fast which is a boon to air travelers, service is uneven enough to to leave the occasional traveler worriedly glancing at her watch. If you do not allow at least 45 minutes between arriving here and boarding your plane (an hour or more is better), you could have trouble. The good news is the many healthy menu items and the fair pricing. Silver Diner has a captive audience and could serve fried slop at downtown steakhouse prices. It's fair and reasonably diet friendly. You can also sit at a booth or table like a civilized human being, which can be an airport rarity. read more

In general, neither airports nor diners cater to vegan diets. So, imagine our delight when we saw signs advertising plant-based options at Silver Diner while in the midst of a layover in Baltimore! Full disclosure, we did stop here once before (when I was still partaking of dairy deliciousness and enjoyed a Beyond Burger), but my excitement was renewed after this visit! As some other reviewers have noted, the service isn't always the most prompt and the hosts didn't seem especially friendly (which is interesting considering that they are the first face you see) but our server was nice and the food more than made up for it. You see, I love breakfast food. As a vegetarian, eating out for breakfast was always super easy because any combo of eggs, pancakes, and potatoes left me happily lethargic for hours. However, a decadent breakfast is harder to come by these days, which is why when I saw a "Just Eggs Benedict " on the menu, I was basically done reading. On top of toast (which was a little soggy by the time I got to it, but no biggie) was a pile of Just Eggs, some sort of tasty cheesy sauce, tomato, spinach, and tempeh "bacon" crumbles, served with a side of fresh fruit. Chubby old me would've been stoked with potatoes instead of fruit, but with how heavy - albeit delicious- the main was, the fruit was probably a good call. My wife got the pineapple stir fry which looked much healthier than what I got, and she also enjoyed it. Prices were reasonable, especially since it is in an airport, and I'll definitely make it a priority to swing by next time we are stuck in the airport. Bonus: they also have a full bar with reasonable - again, considering it's an airport- craft beer prices that I'll partake of next time. read more

Nice service and decent ambience for an airport. Milkshake was good and burger was as well, but pancakes were a disgrace to diners- flattened hockey pucks that seemed to have been made in NJ four weeks ago and reheated in microwave. Server did not charge for them- which was sweet. read more

Bottom Line: Never expected this! I think this place is doing itself a huge disservice by not screaming on the outside that it is NOT YOUR MOTHER'S DINER!!!! Again, I'm not going to beat a Thoroughbred to death. Just about every review raves about this place. Like my Yelp friend Dave O. wrote this is a good decision. On their menu they list the local farms that they get their produce, cheese and meat from. THAT should be on a banner outside the diner. The only reason I went in here was becasue Staci R - who used to work here told me she had heard lots of good things about the place. After reading Dave O's review and looking at his pics I had the Goat Cheese Bruschetta. WOW! The cheese is so creamy yet in stays in nice firm crumbles. The Basil soars. I have had Basil in so many dishes and I have been growing Basil all my life - yet this Basil almost tastes concentrated! Your mouth screams FRESH!! The bread that they serve with it in itself is a meal. I think I've mentioned here before that I can eat! A Lot! The first time I ordered this I ordered it as an appetizer and was going to read the menu in it's entirety before deciding on my main course. Didn't happen. This dish is a full meal. Was stuck at the airport with a friend for a couple of hours and told her about this place. We went in and I had the Goat Cheese Bruschetts again and she had the Brussel Sprouts and White Bean Chili. She was amazed that this kind of food was served out of a place in an airport labeled a Diner. The Brussel Sprouts were a meal in themselves as well. They were fried and served with candied apricots, dried cranberries and pecans. They were delicious. i did not try the Chili but she gave it a thumbs up. Bottom Line: There's really no reason for me to look anywhere else for food in theis airport. Glad I am based near this gem! read more

A step above your typical airport food but still overpriced. The service was also quite slow considering people are waiting on flights. I ordered the crab cake combo and the cakes were solid, fries were solid as well. Don't think they were quite 26 dollars solid tho. The cheesesteak spring rolls were really good and I actually think that+a side of fries is a better combo than the crab cakes. read more

Sat at the bar to order breakfast, which seemed to be the normal thing as lots of others were doing the same. My mom and I split the farmers skillet which had onions, potatoes, sausage, bacon, eggs and cheese,. They actually split the breakfast for us into 2 skillets which was very nice! It definitely needed more veggies and meat and the wheat toast was chewy, but it was very yummy. I also ordered a side of $4 fruit but it was a very small portion. The bartender gave us the check immediately after we ordered which seemed rushed... Either way, I would come back again for a meal. read more

My server really couldn't be bothered - instead of presenting the food or even saying enjoy your lunch, he just slid it down as he strolled by and never looked back. I am full and ready to fly! I love old fashion diners that represent for the name DINER! Living in Miami, from NJ, you dont find many but let me tell you. If you're in BWI airport in Baltimore, eat here! Customer service was decent. We waited for about 7 min before someone greeted us, but the lady In the front was cleaning and apologized! Our waiter was kind, and did his job well! Now let's get to the food. The options made me smile! Gluten free options for my baby boy, pescatarian options for mom (I mean we are in the seafood hub)! Vegan, Vegetarian options as well!! My Milkshake cookies and cream) was delicious, it tasted like icecream, which it probably was lol! My crabcakes sandwich was so fresh, I mean no filler just meat and a nice charred outside! My coleslaw which I despised (I ate the entire cup)! It had fennel seeds and some type of mint! Yum!!! My husband's cheesesteak was ok but we are originally from the NJ/Philly area, we rate those real tough! And, our appetizer fried shrimp was so juicy and fresh with a delicious pepper relish! The tarter sauce was not my favorite, it was more on the sweeter side! But all in all, great food! read more

Busy little diner, didn't seem so eager to seat singles at booths instead of at the bar. Once seated, my experience grew exponentially. I ordered the flat iron steak with mashed potatoes, spinach greens and shoestring onions. For 18.00, this was a great meal. Best spinach greens I've had in a long time and for a flat iron steak, it was very tender. The blue cheese topping made it even better! The service, other than the hostess was fantastic. Came to silver diner during layover at BWI. My friend got crab cakes and I got the heuvos rancheros and we both ordered spicy bloody Mary's. Bloody Mary was just okay, I did like the old bay seasoned rim. As far as my meal, the heuvos rancheros were just okay, the felt like they were missing something. My friend said the crab cakes were just okay also. I think as far as service there was opportunity. We had to ask for water and it took like 15-20 minutes to get the water and the prices were a little steep even for a Airport restaurant. read more

I had lunch at the Silver Diner BWI on 9/21/23 and as always the food was excellent! When I travel I always go through BWI and stop there for a bite to eat.One of the things I've noticed is that I recognize many of the same staff from year to year so it's obvious they are treated well. They interact as a "family" and I've never had a less than positive experience! On this particular day I had the opportunity to talk to Sydni for a bit and was given some very good tips. Matt provided great service at the bar. The service was fast and the kitchen was even faster. They had some really nice vegetarian choices. There veggie egg white omelet was amazing and you can even top it with organic ketchup. My favorite place to grab a bite at BWI. I love the Silver Diner in general and this location certainly delivers on providing the diner feel, a large menu (not as large as their usual locations but absolutely plenty to choose from), all day breakfast, plentiful vegetarian (and even some vegan options that look tasty!), and a quick to go counter. Plus, it's a local chain! I popped in after a particularly terrible travel day (delays, missed flights, etc) and needed a good spot to have drink and something wholesome to eat. I opted for a burger (they do great ones) and discovered they offer Beyond Meat plant protein burgers!!! These things are so good and an amazing meat alternative (not your average dry veggie burger patty). It's moist, tasty, and filling. The burger came topped with guacamole, salsa, and pepper jack. It absolutely hit the spot. I've also had the avocado toast with egg before and it was great. It's garnished with hemp hearts! Delicious. Service is ok - I mean, it's an airport restaurant so generally everyone is miserable but the food is well worth it. Definitely sit at the bar. They have plenty of outlets to charge up the phone and you will get your food quickly. read more

Silver Diner is a wonderful place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner while waiting for your flight at BWI Airport. I had the pleasure of having lunch here while waiting for my flight home to Indy. My server, Amanda, was very enthusiastic and had lots of energy, so it made my dining experience more enjoyable. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with fries and coleslaw, which was very good. The yuengling Hershey's Chocolate Stout beer was out of this world! The atmosphere is very much like an old school diner with a jukebox at each booth where you can choose a song to play over the speaker if you like. The full service bar is also a wonderful feature for a diner such as this, because not all diners have a full service bar. My lunch was wonderful, and my overall dining experience was excellent!! My boyfriend and I decided to have breakfast here before our flight to Cuba. The line for the wait was somewhat long but our wait only ended up being 15 mins. We were were only our way to our table, we noticed a number of dirty and empty tables. I was trying to figure out why the line was so long and yet all these table were empty. They definitely needed more staff available, especially during the prime time for breakfast because you have so many people at the airport that want breakfast during that time and not many places with breakfast options. Our waiter was very nice and took our order right away. I ordered French Toast, eggs, and sausage and my boyfriend ordered pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Our food came our fairly quickly. I was pleased at first until I realized I got bacon instead of sausage. It was not a big deal because I was really hungry and I didn't want to wait for the sausage. My French Toast tasted like... bread. It was a little dry and you could barely taste cinnamon or vanilla. I only eat a few bite before I could no longer tolerate it. I just ate my eggs and bacon. My boyfriend's pancakes were so much better. Overall, the service needed a little brush up and the food was just ok. I had a layover at BWI so I decided to go to dinner here. I was excited but ended up not all that impressed. Due to Covid19 half of the diner was closed and the other half was at 50%. This caused a long line and a long wait. Sigh. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries along with a strawberry shake. The shake was the highlight of the meal as the burger was cold, raw, and bland, while the fries were way too salty. Dropped $35 on this crap! Sigh. Service was on point though. read more

I typically avoid airport food at all costs (both for quality and for price), but I've become a regular at this diner's bar. I find myself at BWI fairly often during layovers, and I get the same thing every time: crab cake sandwich (no bread), which comes with old-bay dusted French fries and coleslaw. So good, every time.
