My dog has been goin to Sassy Pooch for 8 years and once I adopted a second pooch I gladly took her to Albert. Now that Juan Ortega has taken over the business, I really wasn't worried one bit taking my dogs to him because he's always been a very kind, caring, friendly sidekick to Albert. Nina who took care of the appointment and put me at ease about asking Juan to use our own shampoo was super attentive!! She took massive notes - even though she knows my dogs - and really a gem. Juan Made sure to say hello when I dropped them off and when I picked them up, he made sure to personally let me know how it went for both of them even though he was very busy. I have to admit that my dogs were matted, nervous and a little stressed out given that where we had moved there were no groomers willing to take them in a regular basis. Juan did a fantastic job on my dogs. They look gorgeous. I have him the freedom to do what he needed but I also asked not to push them beyond their limits and he didn't. Evidenced by a tail on one that is still messed up (future vet visit will take care of it) and certain sensitive areas were also left alone because this particular dog really really doesn't like it. I'm thrilled with the way my dogs reacted when I picked them up. They didn't really have to go potty to urgently. They weren't stressed more than normal when having to be away from their 24/7 mom for 5 hours. Juan you rock!!!! If you live within driving distance from Gilroy and you want a groomer that is caring, great at his art, a sweetheart with a front office person that is worth her weight in gold, please go to Sassy Pooch!!!!! They are very good and book out weeks ahead - so call today!!!!!

I have another dog that is very shy and timid. I talked to the staff a bit about how best to handle a bath and grooming for her. They made me feel like they'd take really good care of her. They said they would start with a bath and go slow with the blower and see how she does. They assured me they'd stop at any point if she got too anxious with the process. She did well and I picked her up a few hours later with her smelling great with a nice trim as well. She looked amazing. I am really happy with the staff at Cali Petz. Everyone is very kind and willing to talk about any concerns I had throughout the process. I will definitely be going back for dog grooming. It's nice when you find a spot near your home that does a great job. Thanks Cali Pet Goodz!

It started very well in the beginning early last year. But, today I picked up my dog and she was shaved again! They had her in there for 3hours! Just to shave all her fur! :( I asked for a trim half an inch on the body (I don't want her shaved, keep her fluffy) shave the tummy, clean private parts, teeth cleaning and bath. I had her groomed to be ready for a photo and now she's shaven. I'm so upset! This is the second time they did this to us. And, I can't be understanding anymore. Last time was last November 2025. So she's, ready for the holiday festivities and photos. But, she was shaved! I had to have her wear sweaters all winter because she was getting cold and looked malnourished. And, they offer a free grooming for next time! Why in the world would I bring my dog to them again. No consistency! Both times it was the same person at the drop off. I have nothing good to say to this place anymore.

Johnson Garden Center -- nobody does it better…read more Their replacement 10 gallon Photinia is an inspiration to my OG hedge row. Beautiful quality, incredibly healthy, already nearly taller than the established shrubs, and very reasonably priced at $129. They helped load it, answered questions, and made the whole process easy. Love Costco but sometimes you don't want to wait. Thanks Chris!

I spoke with a friend about our experiences at Johnson's, and we both agreed, it feels like walking into an old western saloon where everyone knows "you ain't from around these parts!" I was looking to buy a magnolia, but wanted to know what the differences were, which is better for our environment, so I approached an employee who tried to avoid eye contact with me until he could do it no longer. He started stammering when I asked if he knew anything about the trees I had considered contenders. He fumbled with his walky-talky to try to find someone else to help me, but spotted (who I found out later was the manager) watering plants in the vicinity. He asked her if she could help and she replied rudely with "WHAT?" as she clearly saw me (the customer) asking a question. He stammered nervously and she followed up with "What do you want?" I jumped in and asked my questions about which is best and she said, "They're all pretty much the same." I asked if any were better for our climate/environment and she said with an attitude, "We don't sell anything that doesn't grow around here." She then curtly turned away and went on with watering the plants. I did not feel copacetic with her "customer service," so I bought my tree and decided not to go back. I would rather go to an establishment with less selection, but better service. Also, the prices are on the higher side for some things, but reasonable for others, it just depends on what it is. Either way, Home Depot works for me from now on, and if they don't have what I want, I'll research somewhere other than Johnson's. It's a shame, too, because the place is like walking through a botanical garden, only the vibe given by the staff is that "it ain't big enough for the both of us!"

Had been referred by some folks I see at the Morgan Hill Dog Park. Great experience - Becky showed me her whole place and set-up - she is both sole owner and sole groomer - and had super patience dealing with one very tired cat that ended up needing a total shave and bath as well as the less grumpy and happier dog kid. Becky shared she likes to minimize stress on all furry clients and tries to coordinate so that one is leaving with its parent as another comes in vs. having furry kids waiting in kennels. She does cats which is cool and has some larger long-haired cats at home of her own. Calling again today to book our next appointment :-)
