This is a great bakery with big muffin like cupcakes in variety of flavors and you can buy individual cupcakes. Love the idea of the bakery pick up. Great service and environment is tiny but just enough room.
Depending on what side you venture in or out of Magnolia, you are bound to run into the line waiting to get into Silos Baking, and you should go ahead and hop in line! We swung by on our way of Magnolia and the perfect little goodbye treats for us to pick up. First, the smell is absolutely amazing and draws you! Fresh everything being baked up on site with most of the goods on display. I was a bit unsure what to get when we walked in because of all the delicious options, but then I saw the homemade oatmeal cookie pie and that was it! My partner got the blueberry crumble muffin, not as exciting or tasty, but it was good! However the oatmeal cookie pie was scrumptious! The cookies were soft, yet firm and not crumbly while the filling was thick, light and smooth. So good! Service here, like all outlets at Magnolia, was top notch. They were hustling, but still found time to be cheerful and helpful! Overall, definitely not to be missed when visiting the Silos. You won't regret it!
Honestly, I wasn't a fan of cupcakes before, but this one changed my mind. I think it tastes even better in the fridge! It's a basic cupcake, but the cream is delicious, and it's moist! I'll definitely come back if I pass through Waco.
We stopped in for a sweet treat as our final stop at the Silos and so glad did. As we entered there were many sweet pleasant scents that filled the air. We decided to go with all the seasonal options and each were uniquely satisfying. The texture of the marshmallow and the buttercream were positive stand outs for me.
Silos Bakery & Cafe does not miss. $5 cupcakes that taste like luxury desserts. We had the seasonal carrot cupcake and the toasted coconut, and both were incredible -- moist, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. But the real star? The frosting. So fluffy, light, and insanely delicious -- not heavy, not overly sweet, just melt-in-your-mouth perfection. These are the kind of cupcakes that ruin all other cupcakes for you. Absolute must-try
Finally, spring break when the town is only filled with visitors -- able to get into this place! They have been known to sell out before the day ends. Had to experience the hype for the experience! The lines started to form as soon as we got in line. Cupcakes are heavily topped with butter cream. The cake itself was still moist but it wasn't over the top I'll wait in line next time. Banana pudding was sold out by 11:00am! Must have been good!
Worth the wait! I knew I needed to visit Silos when I made the trip through Waco, but I didn't realize just how insanely neat this place is! As all the previous reviews state, the bakery line is in fact long but it moved quickly. My group and I only waited about five minutes from the time I joined the queue to the moment our cupcakes made it to us. We didn't stick around in the bakery for long as it was crowded with people either waiting to order or pickup their orders, and went out to find a place to sit, at which point I realized just how big Magnolia Market actually was. Before that, the cupcakes we ordered: the Gingerbread, Campfire, and Lemon Lavender. While the Lemon Lavender was recommended to me by someone who'd been here before, I actually found it to be my least favorite of the trio. It tasted like the 'safe option' I could've had anywhere else, while the others were more exciting in flavor. The Campfire had all the textures of a s'more, complete with graham crackers and a toasted marshmallow, and the Gingerbread, my favorite one, really brought home the gingerbread taste. The spices in it were so fragrant and strong without overloading your tastebuds, and the cupcake was deliciously moist. Though the amount of icing on all the cupcakes was a little too much for me, the rest of my group absolutely loved how much there was. As for the rest of the market, this place was sprawling. Food trucks, a garden, a park to relax or play with your dog, a church, outdoor games like bean bag toss, a place to practice baseball, a gift shop AND a mini shopping strip, this place had EVERYTHING. We were only able to stay for half an hour and didn't get to see everything, but this place was absolutely perfect for a day out, a date, or taking IG photos. I was admittedly convinced that this place might be overhyped, but I can totally see why it's gotten so much praise. I definitely want to make a trip back solely to try more bakery goodies and take my time to explore the grounds.
Pro-tip: Make sure to visit the whole experience Magnolia offers. Chip and Joanne have certainly succeeded with building their franchise into a full experience. Magnolia, as a whole, is very cute. Their style is obviously very appealing -- cute shops, a cafe, a restored chapel, an open lawn with games, local food trucks, and the bakery of course! Much more I'm not listing. The baked goods are just okay. Definitely more of an experience and the service is welcoming. I did appreciate that the cinnamon roll was served warm. A (picky) criticism -- while a matchbook is $7 (when usually free at hotels and restaurants, for example), the bakery hands out menu cards to fill out. While the process may seem to improve efficiency, our party simply made our orders and staff didn't even need to use the cars...meaning they got tossed without being needed. Seems like a waste of paper and costs...
These cupcakes were amazing! If I didn't have a family history of diabetes I'd definitely be a regular at this place. Each cupcake was packed with flavor. To decedent and moist. I'll be back for sure! Ambiance is great as you can explore the compound and there are little shops with food trucks available. Nice place within the compound.
The cupcake styled cups I saw when I walked in told me this was a upscale bakery that would not disappoint - and I was right. The strawberry and cream cupcake was my favorite hands down. The bread was moist and flavorful with the right amount of strawberry flavor. I also really enjoyed the lemon lavender icing as well. Amazing work on the icing! The lemon lavender gave me gentle poppyseed vibes which I felt could be improved with a little more flavor. Overall, amazing place and will try more baked goods here again!

Super pretty, loved the store and all of the kitchen items for sale! I ordered the pumpkin and lemon lavender cupcakes and they were okay. The pumpkin cake was good, but it lacked that pumpkin spice flavor, perhaps it wasn't as rich in cinnamon/ginger/nutmeg/clove as I've had in other pumpkin recipes. The frosting was a little too sweet for my taste and didn't enhance the pumpkin as much as I'd hoped. The lemon lavender cake was delicious, but the frosting was also too sweet! I wish I could have ordered the cupcake without the frosting. It wasn't either too lemony nor too much lavender, both powerful flavors that balanced each other well in this recipe!

The bakery is good, but at this point, perhaps a little overrated. The line is very long, but it does move quick. They are very organized and clean. I had the lemon lavender cupcake and the silos cookie. Both were good, but the second time around, I am just wondering what is making people wait so long in line for? It's good.. but not wait in line 1 hour good. The frosting was actually a little overbearing in the cupcake. I *wish* you could call in a small order for pick up, to avoid the line. However, at this time. They are only accommodating large phone orders. read more

Silos Baking was amazing! We got the blueberry crumble muffin, brownie cookie, and the Prized Pig. Everything was delicious. I really wanted to go back and get one of everything, I restrained myself, but am now kicking myself. My only wish is that they could warm the Prized Pig before serving! The service was fast and friendly, and the line moved very quickly. Definitely stop here if you're nearby and do yourself a favor and ask for one of everything! read more
All I have to say is WOW! Finally had the chance to actually be there in the flesh at the Magnolia grounds to actually try the delicious Silos cupcakes, cookies, the baked goodness that was right in front of me! Favorites: the Nuts and Bolts, Lemon Lavendar and the Prize Pig, amazing! Prize Pig: Buttery soft and the slight crispiness in the inside makes it so much better to have! Nuts and Bolts: the textures were just a great combo and the chocolate frosting was just enough sweet for me! Lemon Lavendar: tasted as how it should as with the name of the cupcake! Both cupcakes were fluffy and decadent. COVID-19 changes: they only allow 3 parties inside at a time and make sure everyone is within 6 ft apart, everything from ordering and purchasing was seamless. We'll be back for more goodies, because you know... sweets and Magnolia go together! ;) read more

4 stars for the products here, 2 stars for the insane wait time and the prices. Definitely not worth the wait, unless you are a Magnolia fiend. The line just to get in is crazy, you would think this is the only bakery in the county, with a monopoly on all sweet baked goods with how long the line is here. At 9:30am, tt literally stretches around the corner all times of the day. And, if you like seeing basic ladies taking selfies with various Magnolia signs, decoration or just the entrance, you won't be disappointed her e. When you finally get inside, you can choose from various baked goods like cookies, croissants or cupcakes(although it seems they often run out or don't make certain products sometimes, as they had changed the chocolate croissant to butter for some reason, and we're out of a few cookies varieties). I tried a few cupcakes and the chocolate chip cookie, and they were good, but for 2 cookies and a cupcake it was over $9, which is simply way too much. All in all, not worth the wait. Go literally anywhere else for something sweet and you will probably be just as happy, with a bit more in your wallet and more time to enjoy life. read more

Skeptical at first because it's such a popular place but I can now say that this place has AMAZING cupcakes. Stopped by and picked up the silos box, a couple choco chip cookies (which were my FAVORITE), and i have no regrets. The chocolate chip cookies were so big and chewy, never got dry and hard even after a day. The cupcakes were so moist and flavorful. I brought the box of cupcakes on the plane from Austin to San Jose, and it was perfectly fine and tasty. Definitely recommend stopping by!! read more
Line is long, always but don't let that deter you. The line wrapped completely around the building and went all the way down the street and we only waited 15 mins to get in. They're moving fast, maybe too fast to where service was mediocre definitely felt like the workers weren't happy to be there. As for the cupcakes HOLY MOLY. They're amazing. I couldn't believe how smooth, creamy, and moist they were. The strawberry lemonade one tasted like strawberry LEMONADE. I was worried it would taste only like strawberries but it didn't. I was pleasantly surprised. They even have silos baking merchandise you can purchase. I would definitely come back here. read more

This little shop seems to always have a line in front of it, but for good reason. The line moves fast and the baked goods are worthwhile. My friend and I got the 6 cupcake box for $20 that comes with preset flavors. We couldn't make up our mind and this seemed to be the most cost effective way to try as many as possible Little did we realize how big, dense and loaded with frosting they are (all a VERY good thing) They were sooo good and we ate them over 3 days. They stayed fresh and just as delicious even days later. Such a wonderful indulgence and highly recommend trying them out read more

You can't come to the silos without stopping at Chip and Joanna's bakery! Been here many times and I am never disappointed! There's a mix of pastries and other goodies but we always get the cupcakes! The cupcakes are just THAT GOOD. At our most recent visit we got the following flavors: Two seasonal menu cupcakes: Strawberry Lemonade and Orange Crème Regular menu cupcakes: Old School and Lemon Lavender I also tried the Nuts and Bolts, and honestly I wish I would've gotten that one for myself because it was delicious! The line is usually pretty long to get in but this time it was quick! We also appreciated the canopy that they have set up outside the bakery to keep people in the shade while they wait in line, very nice gesture. read more
We decided to stop here while we were on the grounds. Due to covid, only four could be in the bakery at a time so there was a bit of a wait but they came outside with a QR code for folks to scan so we could review the menu while waiting - super idea because it really sped things up once inside. We could have tried one of everything but we limited ourselves to a few. We tried the lemon/lavender cupcake with lemon butter creme frosting. It was wonderful - perfect texture and the frosting was great! We also tried a PRIZE PIG, which was A savory bacon & cheddar scratch-made biscuit with chives. Seriously good - I wish I had one just for me instead of sharing! We also tried the gluten free peanut butter oatmeal cookie which was a peanut butter, chocolate chips, oats + vanilla cookie. It wasn't bad at all - but honestly, it was just another cookie - nothing to write home about. We also tried the NUTS & BOLTS cupcake which was a vanilla cake filled with pecans & walnuts + cream cheese icing topped with nut crumbles. This was really great! Again, could have eaten a whole one instead of just a piece. Finally, we had one of the classic cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting - it was very tasty as well - not overly remarkable - just a well made classic cinnamon roll, which many places manage to mess up - this one had the expected flavor and texture. Would definitely return again and try some of their other flavors! read more
Like everyone else, we waited in the outdoor line while filling out the card that lists all of the items for sale (cupcakes, waters, cookies, mugs, aprons, cookbooks, etc.) & decided which cupcakes we were hankering for. The maybe-faux-rustic-country looks of the bakery is cute, lots of natural light, trays of cupcakes that keep coming out from the baking area, & staff is a little standoffish but I guess that goes with the territory of a celebrity-driven business. We got a foursome of cupcakes & their frosting was rich, light, & filled with flavor while the cake part was simple, also had good flavor & was a good counterpoint to the frosting. Although prices for the baked goods are moderate, I believe that the waters & baking accessories are very overpriced. Still, if I pass this way again, I would happily try some other flavors of cupcakes. read more

An obsession with Magnolia is, happily, not a prerequisite for enjoying baked goods, so despite my lackluster feelings toward the brand, I was pretty excited to check out Silos Baking. Aware of the craziness that this mecca can inspire, my group arrived just after opening time. The exterior is adorable, showing off white washed bricks, cute hanging signage, and the most gorgeous greens based planters. Seriously, who knew you could make a regular ol' cabbage the focal point of a dazzling design?! Inside, the space is lovely, too, sporting a wood beamed ceiling, a few industrial accents, and gleaming glass cases stuffed with myriad cookies, cupcakes capped by mountains of frosting, scones, massive cinnamon rolls, and more. As soon as we stepped in, we were handed menus/ordering forms and a mini pencil, and I think this is a very smart (if not environmentally friendly) way to manage orders. With roughly twenty standard goodies and five specials, plus various beverages, it is a bit overwhelming, and, though we immediately got to looking over our options, within thirty seconds we were pushed to place our order. How the heck are you supposed to decide that quickly, especially when your group contains seven people?! We all got flustered, and though we made our selections, might have chosen others, and things we'd have relished even more, if allowed the time. We had planned to enjoy this as breakfast, but there is no seating inside, and it was raining on our visit. Thus, while they have a variety of dining areas in their beautiful outdoor space, we made do with a wet picnic table and quickly ate what we could manage before we were too chilled. We shared several of the excellent Prize Pig scones: tender, flaky and buttery, with a rich bacon forward flavor. This is the only savory option, and they ought to add a few more, but I am glad there is at least one, and a superb one at that! The cinnamon roll was a little tough and dry, but fine. The Chocolatier cupcake seriously had the same amount of frosting as it did cake. I am VERY into this, however it is worth noting that several of my sisters mentioned they aren't normally fans of loads of icing, but loved the rich, dark chocolate flavor and light texture of Silos' interpretation. Items were packaged well and attractively, in kraft paper boxes and bags. Of note, they have about five gluten free options. I don't think there is anything vegan. Prices range from $2.50-$4 per item. It is a bit of a bummer as Silos, not to mention Magnolia as a whole, is really selling this curated super special experience that you are unlikely to actually have. I know they cannot control the weather, and do not blame them one bit for that (though some indoor seating would be nice), but the way they rushed us along is not at all conducive to the good time patrons will be anticipating. read more

I'm more of a "I like to see it first", it was very fast and impersonal..but I understand when they have so many people coming through. The day we were there, there was no line. Unique and lovely experience. Ordered the lemon lavender cupcake and vanilla bean shortbread. Both were amazing. The cupcake was tender, fluffy, and had all the hints of lemon and lavender. The frosting was to die for. I regret not ordering another one or two additional cupcakes for the road! The cookie was so good. The subtle buttery flavor with a slight crumbly texture made for a perfect cookie. When we arrived, there was a line around the building. Once we got closer to the door, we were handed an ordering card to select the things we wanted. They only allow a handful of people in at a time (which I completely understand) with how limited space is inside. Once we got to the cashier, they input your order, we paid, they boxed and bagged up our treats and we were out the door. We sat in the little patio area outside the bakery. Definitely somewhere my mom and I have wanted to visit! And come on... who doesn't love Chip and Joanna! read more
A very popular bakery where the line is always long to get in. While waiting we were given a card and a free mini pencil to check off which items we wanted to purchase. It very organized where once get inside you hand it over to the cashier, pay and wait for your items. The box which contains your goodies is in shape of the grain barn. You can also purchase merchandise and drinks inside. So I ordered two cupcakes and cookies. The cookies were huge like mini pancakes while the cupcakes wrapped in unusual packaging. All of the bakery items tasted delicious. The cookies were had huge chunks of chocolates and no way could eat the whole thing. The cupcakes were soft with rich flavor. There is outside seating but limited. I recommend over buying where you probably don't want to go back in line and can take leftovers home. read more
We visited on a Monday afternoon and only waited in line for a few minutes! While waiting we were given a menu/order form so that we could select our cupcakes before getting to the counter - very efficient use of time even though we didn't have to wait long. Once inside we went straight to the counter to order and we received our cupcakes within minutes. Service was quick and efficient. I could have easily ordered one of everything but opted for a box of 6 cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies and the oatmeal cookie sandwich. Out of everything we had, the chocolate chip cookies are my favorite - a classic done to perfection! Worth the hype and so glad I don't live in town or else I'd be here too often! read more
Wow! This bakery alone was worth the trip. I love me some cupcakes!!! And these cupcakes were worth loving for sure! DO NOT LET THE LINE SCARE YOU!!! It actually goes by pretty fast! Look at the pictures of everything on yelp and mark what you'd like on the card they provide at the end of the line. The lavender lemon cupcake was my favorite dessert by far! We ordered several to share including the red velvet, a cinnamon roll and the savory bacon and cheese biscuit. I bake. A LOT. So I know good desserts and these are high on my list of places to go now. Everything was fresh, not dried out or stale. We even ate half of the items over the next two days and they were still good. The service was super friendly and helpful. We even got a punch card for future visits because we live somewhat close. read more

I was disappointed in the fact that the cinnamon rolls and biscuits were not warm. The cupcakes are very pretty, and the icing is good, but I was expecting more. The silo shops were very expensive and disappointing. I feel it was a lot of hype. read more
Wait on a line for a cupcake? The line was out the door and then additional line once in the bakery. Don't worry, it goes fast. A menu card is given out while waiting and you can mark your selections to make the line go quicker. Be assured, with the continuous line moving through the cupcakes, muffins and cookies are fresh. I could have eaten every flavor, most with Fixer Upper type names. Hard to chose which one order. Nuts and Bolts (yes they have Shiplap cupcakes)was delicious with a great cream cheese topping. The muffins were equally yummy. Get a cupcake or two or more, a cup of hot coffee, sit at a table outside and enjoy. Cupcakes are $3.50, 6 for $18, maybe the biggest bargain at the Silos. read more

Again..... I've decided anything that Chip and Joanna Gaines have touched is fabulous. These little babies also qualify. Mom and I were totally full, not hungry in the least and still we found ourselves in line, contemplating which cupcakes we would order. Decided on two and happily took them home and shared with wine, on the porch of our Airbnb. Sugar is the devil, but it tasted so freaking good. This was not a keto vacation, lol. And worth every minute. read more

Silos Baking is Chip and Jo's bakery, featuring desserts and a full coffee bar. It's worth getting something, especially if you're not eating at Magnolia Table or want something on the go. I ordered an iced mocha and a silos cookie, which were both great. With the full coffee bar and espresso machine, they had specialty drinks. When I visited they were doing a Pumpkin Spice Latte as their seasonal drink, but they had a handful of different syrups and dairy substitutes. The silos cookie was actually better than I expected. I normally go for a traditional chocolate chip cookie, but wanted something unique from the bakery. The silos cookie is an oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips, crushed walnuts and peanut butter. I am not a fan of oatmeal, but would happily eat this cookie again and again! It even was good days after I bought it, still soft on the inside. Silos Baking is a great stop for your dessert fix if at the Magnolia Market. If you get here early enough you may be able to avoid the line, but expect one to curve around the building. My friend who visited a few days before we did said the cupcakes were some of the best she's ever had! read more
I've been waiting to try these cupcakes for a while and finally found myself in Texas! The cupcakes are bigger than others I've tired and can be easily shared, especially if you want to try more than one flavor. I had trouble finishing one. I found the batter to be very cakey (on the heavier side) and not as moist as I hoped, though they certainly aren't dry. They come with a lot of frosting, so frosting lovers rejoice! I usually scrape some of the frosting off all the cupcakes I eat but rest assured the frosting is delicious. I tried 3 flavors: chocolatier, silobration, strawberries and cream. I love that the chocolatier batter isn't too sweet. Silobration feels like a birthday but the strawberries and cream tastes a bit artificial but it's not bad. These definitely taste better fresh. I made it a point to try all of them the day off to give them a fair review but note that the next day, the cake wasn't as soft and the batter was hard straight at the fridge. You may want to consider letting them rest until they reach room temperature if you want to continue eating over the next days. Now for the cookies. I tried two, classic chocolate chip and the brownie. These cookies are big and because they are thicker than other chocolate chip cookies I've had I had my doubts. They are absolutely a must! They are both soft and crunchy. The brownie one is so rich and delicious, chocolate lovers will not be disappointed. The chocolate chip is wholesome and yummy. I also tried these the day of for a fair review and ate what was left the next day. Held over perfectly! The service is friendly and there wasn't too much of a line on a random Wednesday afternoon. As for pricing, I think it's very reasonable considering the size of the cupcakes and cookies. They are generously sized and I found the prices to be more affordable than other bakeries I've been to (though these have been in California, New York, and Boston - which tend to be pricey places). read more

Always love a dozen of delicious cupcakes for our roadtrips. Long lines are worth waiting in for the delicious dessert treats from the Silos Bakery. The seasonal flavors always have to coming back for more. All the treats are baked to perfection and never disappoint. The staff is always friendly and willing to help with any hard decisions, lol. They have Silos Bakery merch for purchase as well. The bakery is always clean and the staff is very efficient. When visiting Waco, stopping here is always a must, my husband already knows and doesn't mind cause he loves everything here too. Enjoy! read more

apparently, this is a must try cupcake place when in waco - so i here am. ~ what I got ~ [seasonal] campfire cupcake ($3.50) - chocolate cake with chocolate chips, graham cracker crust, vanilla buttercream icing + topped with a toasted marshmallow [regular] lemon lavender ($3.50) - lemon & lavender cake + lemon buttercream icing ~ thoughts ~ the campfire cupcake was too sweet for me - i actually had a hard time finishing it. BUT i ate the lemon lavender the next day & it was one of the best cupcakes i've eaten. it was the perfect amount of sweetness & the lemon in the icing made it more digestible. i guess it was a good thing that this one is a regular item. i would totally come back with friends and get their bigger box to try all the flavors! a bit too much icing on top to eat but its honestly a very aesthetic cupcake. read more

They have a peach lemonade and a watermelon caprese salad on their summer menu.
Do they do all their baking on site? For the crazy amount of product they sell you would think they bake at a larger facility and truck them in.
They do not do the baking on site due to the volume that they serve. The baking, from what I understand, is done at a local larger facility and brought to the Silos.
How much are the cupcakes? Is there any package deals? I going to be passing thru and need to get a bunch for different people!

Do they run out of cupcakes early?
We were there at 4 pm on a Tuesday and there were plenty of cupcakes and cinnamon rolls. They had run out of the shortbread gluten free cookies though.
