This place is absolutely darling. Like we found this place on our way to another city by accident as it wasn't an intended pit stop, we just needed breakfast food. I am so glad I came here. The inside is so whimsical and cute. I don't know how anyone wouldn't want to stay there and relax if you have the time to sit and eat in peace. Unfortunately for us we had to leave due to a time crunch, but it made me wish I could stay there longer. The staff was beyond friendly and probably thought we were dumb, because we were tired, cranky, and asking basic questions. They had a bakery, a mini restaurant, and all of it was delicious. I got a mocha, a cinnamon roll for my husband and a breakfast sandwich. The entire thing was freaking delicious. The place is a treat to the eyes and stomach and I love how unexpected this is. If I'm ever anywhere near this area again I am stopping and enjoying this cute little bistro next time I'm in the area. read more

What a gem of a place! Charge your tesla and grab a snack! Bathrooms are very clean. All kids get a free cookie! This is mostly a bakery, with some sandwichs/wraps/salads. Ok, I must say I first stopped here purely based on a warm memory of childhood Christmas'. We lived in Ohio and every year my mom would order a fruitcake from Collin Street Bakery. So what a surprise when years later I visit Waco and see they have a store here too. I mean I had to check it out. We ordered lunch - 2 petite chicken salad sandwiches, 2 bags of chips, 2 sodas and 2 cookies to take home. All of this was ~ $20. Truly a bargain in today's environment especially when you consider the food was excellent. Besides sandwiches and fruitcakes- they offer a yummy looking array of cookies and several kinds of cakes. This is probably one of the harder reviews I've had to write.. The food was great! Not a 40+ minute wait for sandwiches-great, though. It seemed there were plenty of bakery employees and one overwhelmed employee making all of the food. We didn't complain because they were already getting it from a couple of other people.. The sweets were awesome as well! Those cherry cookies remind me of cherry pop tarts and ohhhh my! So good! Just don't expect to get in and out quickly if you're ordering food. read more

This is my second time coming here. First time in Dec/2024, it was mind blowingly horrible, and I honestly thought, I must have missed something inside, but it was a ZOO - no one was in charge and everything was chaos. I ordered online for pick up through door dash and when I arrive, I was told they don't use Door Dash, that and they can make up my order while I wait..... They even double charged me.....I don't want to be a Karen, just be thankful I had food. Attempt two - I call the cafe @ 11:38am in Waco, and asked if I could place an order to be picked up at 3pm. She said "sure baby, what would you like to order?.... (It's OK, this is Texas, but it was weird) I gave my order, my name, my phone# and time to pick up. "You got it baby!, It'll be ready at 3pm"....I smiled and just said thank you. I am there to pick up a bit late at 3:22pm. I approach the counter that last time was total chaos....short line, two people in front of me. I get up to the register and smile, saying I am here to pick up an order that I called in for 3pm, my name is Jeannette. I get a blank look...., then she says, what did you order? I am holding it together well, clearly, there is something inherently wrong with this place.....sad, because it could really be a hot spot. Both ladies at the registers look super confused and require me and the family in front of me to swap places because the Manager looking person, was too frazzled to check out the family, and could not direct the register person that I was with to JUST RING UP THE ORDER and place it again. Sooooo, the "Manager" takes my order all over again, and tries to tell me that they have a new system and things are a little rough, their flow is off. This was the excuse used last time in December as well. They had no order for me, they had to take it all over again, I was given a number and told to go to the sandwich counter, and my salad would be there too. After standing there I realized I did not have my cookies, so I go back to kindly ask about those and she laughs and says she forgot....I walk back to get my sandwich, cookies in hand. The google map site has the wrong menu and prices, the food is nothing as described on the menu. The pasta salad was sloshing in Italian dressing, black olives, and green bell pepper, not even fresh looking. My Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich had 3 rounds of slimy deli turkey folded in quarters, and one in half to make sure the whole piece of bread was covered, two skinny pieces of bacon....who makes a sandwich like this? two tomato slices, a piece of lettuce, 4 cucumber rounds, a ton of mayo and ranch on their bacon cheddar bread. NO AVO.... I will never go here again, two strikes you're out with me. Nor will I recommend them, I am honestly too embarrassed to. Looks like a lot of people stop there due to it's location and supposed reputation, but there is no way this place can sustain itself, with the product, price, and service issues. No one knows what they are doing there, and frankly would be concerned about food safety and handling. Please give your honest reviews and don't feel bad about negative feedback, they need to know, and they need to listen to their customers! read more

I stopped by to charge my vehicle and decided to go inside to browse. The experience was disappointing. One employee walked directly in front of me without saying excuse me. When my mother and I approached the counter, two different employees skipped over us entirely. We were never greeted or asked if we needed help. Given the repeated dismissive behavior, the experience felt discriminatory. We ultimately put the items back and left without making a purchase. I grew up in this area, so unfortunately this wasn't surprising, but I felt it was important to leave a review for others who may have a similar experience. Had the frito pie made Texas style (bean-free chili) and purple onions. Soooo good and way too much food. My husband finished it the next day. I also wanted the chicken salad on pecan bread but I just can't eat that much, so we bought pecan bread to go and had some chicken salad at home. Also got 2 lemon sugar cookies to compliment my sweet ice tea. This was our first trip here as well as our anniversary. Time well spent. Met a friend. 2 hour drive for each of us and well worth it. The last time I visited this bakery was in 2015, so I wanted to stop by for a nostalgic visit on my way back to Dallas. It can be a little confusing inside the bakery. It's very "busy" on the eyes so it's hard to tell where to order. The two workers at the register area didn't seem too enthusiastic that we were there. I digress, we got our cookies and treats and enjoyed them at a table (I wanted pictures lol). The pastries are always a delight. My favorite is the pink cookies. I don't know when their busy hours are, but it was dead quiet when we went. And another odd note, their soda fountain was out of order which was kind of a bummer. It took me a few circles to realize where I needed to order and then I got really confused as to why the menu was kept literally right next to the register. I had to step out of line and grab a menu and then get back in line when I decided what I wanted. The most disappointing part was getting back to the car and realizing I paid near $8 for an "adult lunchable" that was the size of a regular kid lunchable. I have stopped here before while charging my car. The service was terribly slow both at the deli area and later when paying for some pastries. The pastries were top notch. We got a coconut macaroon and a lemon bar, and both were delicious. My son enjoyed his baked potato from the deli, but my Fritos in my Frito pie were stale, and the chili was only okay. I wouldn't get it again. If you aren't in a hurry, this deli might be okay, but the slowness in service made a long travel day even longer. I will say that their hoiday decor was adorable. read more

The place is utterly charming with tables, cozy conversation areas and readily accessible food services. All of the customer service reps were kind and so helpful. Shanna really stood out for us! This was a terrible experience. After ordering nearly $70 worth of food, we proceeded to wait 30 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich, a cold sandwich, and a cold wrap. Everything else was prepackaged. Speaking of prepackaged... an $11 salad stuffed with wet, wilted lettuce (probably because it had been prepared some time in advance) and a shrink-wrapped avocado doesn't give any impression of freshness. On the wrap we clearly requested no tomatoes or cucumber. It was on the receipt. We tried to fix it ourselves and remove the items but they were throughout the wrap and it fell apart. We asked for it to be remade. Miraculously they did so without another 30 minute wait. This time the wrap was half the original size. Obviously fewer ingredients means smaller size - just know that tomatoes and cucumber make up half a Cobb wrap it's stuffed with filler. We came to dine in but everything was packaged to go. So instead of plates like a tasty lunch would be, we ate out of paper sacks. The either experience was exceptionally disappointing. For summary, not fresh, massive time waster, disappointing first try, disappointing attempt to correct. We would have been better off at McAlisters. read more
