Food is ok but our server was horrible. From where we were seated we could see into the kitchen and the back door that led to the employee smoking and break area. Evidently she needed lots of time away from the dining room because we saw here 3 times go out the back for minutes at a time while we waited to even get our salads. I know it's a locally famous hangout but we won't be back anytime soon. read more

We had a bill of over $100 and was treated like absolute garbage by a bartender with a very bad attitude. Also there parking is abysmal. We couldn't get out as people Had blocked us in. Very smoky in there from the pizza cooking. And wall to wall people. I'm not quite sure I understand the draw to quartzite as a whole. It's a mecca for bums, undesirables and people running from the law. But if you want to clean toilets for a free campsite and learn to poop in a bucket, the big tent is your kind of place. No idea why anyone would ever go here. read more

What a FANTASTIC place!!! ...and the pizza is totally awesome. During the big RV week in January the place is jumping. Live music and dancing. One has to wait about 30 minutes to an hour but it is totally worth it! We went twice while in town this past year and a couple of times last year. We stopped in this tiny town in Quartzsite at the end of December. Before the January RV mecca. It was hoppin for a Tuesday night but we got seated right away. We're looking over menu's when our waiter Josh came for drink orders. He was very patient with us and went through the different craft beers and his recommendations. We both ordered his suggestions and the drinks came out immediately. We were ready when he came back and ordered the Al's trio pizza with added mushrooms. We also asked about the size of the side salad and Josh smiled and said it was large enough for both of us. We chatted and enjoyed a couple sips and out came our salad. Wow! It was plenty big(thanks Josh!)and fresh. Lots of ingredients-they did not skimp! About 20 minutes later Josh brought our pizza. Huge and lots of salami, Pepperoni and ham. The mushrooms were a plus! So impressed! The pizza sauce was wonderful and appropriate. Tons of toppings and cheese! I give it 5 out of 5. Hubs and I realized we'd found another gem!!!! Josh was excellent-very attentive and engaging! And we noticed he was excellent with all his tables. He was 10+! Ask for him when you stop in(and you HAVE to stop in!!! Needed to stop for gas, and get out of car for a few. Wanted a quick lunch and a drink. The place I was going to was closed to put in a new floor, so went to the second option. Not much to look at, looks like 1970's . Butttttttt, the food was exceptional, the staff was on the spot. Had the pastrami sandwich, OMG probably the best I have had in years. Many locals and a good mix of people visiting. Good size venue if you are with a group of ATV or RV people to stop in. Can't say enough good things about this place. Cathy was great. read more

We pulled in and thought the blding looked a bit on the creepy side, dark and UN inviting. But once we walked in we could see it had alot of charm -- tables filled with people smiling and laughing, a dance floor, an area for a band, an area off to the side for pool tables with some men playing pool. Still, across from the door and beyond some tables a bar... and more tables still. The walls were covered with cowboy related things and posters that were like eye candy. Our waitress was pretty quick to greet us and was so warm and friendly! Her name: Maria, not from the area, but excited to learn about it and the state in general. She helped me picked a few items from the menu and was off. We ordered a salad to share, as it was only 2 of us. Along with some bread sticks and dipping sauce. Followed by a pizza. The salad was TERRIFIC! Fresh greens covered with tomato slices and cheese. Dressings on the side as we ordered them. We did not expect such FRESH greens in the middle of nowhere. But fresh it was. The bread sticks were not to our liking, but we ate them as we were hungry and our travels were not yet over. BUT that pizza! WOW! We ordered half with green peppers and onions and half with just cheese. TASTY. YUMMY! FINGER LICKING GOOD. Well worth our stop. Wish we were passing by again soon. Maria, our waitress was a pleasure to visit with, warm, friendly, funny, and just all around worth the stop there as well. I strongly urge you to visit this restaurant if you're in the area... try the pizza (YUM!) and sit in Maria's section. Before leaving I left word with the floor manager that we stopped in because of their great reviews, and would leave one because of their PIZZA and Maria! Once again I would like to thank yelp reviewers. On a recent trip from Palm Desert to Arizona we decided to stop for lunch. Apart from McDonald's and Burger King there weren't many choices. Then we discovered Silly Al's. After reading the great reviews we decided to stop. The outside of the restaurant was a little shabby but we decided to try it. What an incredible surprise, the food and service were both excellent. As we saw the delicious pizzas being served our decision was made. We ordered a salad which was large enough to share and a cheese pizza with artichoke hearts, both were wonderful. We never expected to find such great food in the little town of Quartzsite! This restaurant has a colorful history , very friendly staff and amazing food. If ever you find yourself heading East on Route 10 to Arizona make time to stop at Silly Al's. read more

You guys - we had the best little lunch here on our way to California! We really didn't have any intention of stopping in Quartzsite to eat a full on lunch, more of just a snack, but after reading the reviews for Silly Al's, we had to check it out for at least a beer! After perusing their very large menu, along with some convincing from our very nice waitress, we decided to give it a go and eat lunch here. We split their Greek salad to start and it was so cold and fresh. I loved it and would absolutely get it again. Next, we ordered their famous pizza with mushrooms, artichokes, black olives, and spinach. It was seriously SO good. They also have homemade ranch dressing which if you know me or have read my reviews, that is the sign of a killer spot. We ordered a small pizza and that plus a salad was perfect for the two of us. Finally got to try Silly Al's after many visits to Quartzsite. I regret not coming sooner! Very relaxed vibe inside. The restaurant is clean and there are plenty of tables, a bar and pool tables. We ordered the biggest pizza and it did not disappoint. It was huge! The dough is perfect. Light but chewy, fluffy and bready. The sauce was awesome too. Such a nice surprise to find great service and food on the drive from Phoenix to LA in a relaxed atmosphere. We had a small meat lovers and a bruschetta. Both were baked perfectly and very tasty. I had a flight of draft beers (I was the passenger) which hit the spot. Our tall energetic server couldn't have been more helpful and I wish I had written down his name. Go where the locals go! This is one of the few restaurants in Quartzsite open year around (so I am told). A number of the locals said I needed to come here for lunch when in town. SInce they are known for their pizza had to get my own personal mini! Service was great and the owner even stopped by to say hi. Finding a place to eat around that area was a bliss, pizza we ordered was great. We had for the first time Alfredo pesto basil based pizza. This had a lot of toppings and it was wood fired and was delicious. There was a karaoke going on and it was also playing some old numbers. General crowd was little aged but boy oh boy, they were having a gala time. Some of them are dancing some were singing it was a good to see people enjoying. There was only one waitress and so the service was little slow. Other than that no complain. There is enough parking spot in front of the hotel. Will definitely stop by during our next visit to LA read more

The pizza wasn't really anything spectacular. Just your regular pizza with a soft crust, but the atmosphere was fun. Everyone in there seemed to be having a great time. The wait for the food wasn't very long and the server was quick with refilling drinks as we waited. Pool tables and TV. I really like this place ! I had pizza here 2 years ago and I have been looking forward to returning since then. It can get very busy...and there is a good reason for that, because it's very good pizza. Heads up, It can be noisy sometimes so if you have hearing issues maybe consider using ASL (sign language.). While the outside is a windowless, nothing attractive about it place, hey- it's the desert. Inside is cool- and I mean the temperature! Lights are low and my body gives an involuntary sigh, glad to be out of the 118 degrees outside. This is a large place with a bar, sports on the television(s), pool tables and lots of seating. Very come as you are. The house salad was good. Plentiful. The originator of the Hawaiian pizza recently passed away, so that's what we order. It was good and cheesy. The kind of cheese that make strings when I pull my slice away from the pie. We could not resist the cheesy garlic bread. This is the "wow" of the meal. So, don't let the outside fool you. Go inside.
