This location will no longer accept them UNLESS you can show them the original email that was sent from DSG to your team. PLUS, you have to print that email out with the printed coupon to give to them so they can apply that coupon to your transaction. They will no longer accept those 20% coupons that they usually scan off your phone. Not a great business decision in my opinion! I am also a ScoreCard+ member too. The cashier asked if I want to apply some past credit I forgot about which brought the total expense even less! EVA and manager AARON falsely accused me of returning the wrong item, even though the item matched my REI account, app, original tags, barcode, and product details. They made this accusation in front of my family and other customers, which was very embarrassing. I asked them a simple question: "What exactly is different?" They refused to answer. That tells me they had no real answer. They accused me first, then avoided explaining their own accusation. While EVA was still processing the return, AARON told me to leave and threatened security for no valid reason. After all that, they still processed the return. So the item was correct all along. This was a false accusation, poor judgment, zero accountability, and terrible management. REI leadership should review this incident seriously.

The guys vouching for hockey monkey won me over with their stories of how good the staff was. I did not have a good experience, will not go back, and do not recommend. As stated... total beginner. I informed the sales rep, Alex, about my price range and that I'm just getting started and he grabbed some skates. I settled on a a pair and he informed me of the baking process. He baked my skates, laced them up for me, told me he would be right back and that I needed to remain seated for them to cool. Then - unbeknownst to me - he clocked out and went home. I waited there with my family ( we were hard to miss) until a manager came and told me the store was closed. I felt like a complete idiot. I hadn't even paid for the skates yet. I didn't know the process. The manager told me they still needed to be sharpened. They were nice enough to do that after close and the guy doing the sharpening was cool. But I was still really disappointed and felt stupid. Everyone in the hockey community has been cool up until this point. Very discouraging. Here is the kicker. I was just sitting there. Prime customer for gear. You could have sold me waxed laces, orthotics, pads, helmet, Anything! Im super new to the sport and definitely could have used the help. Easy sales. I will be going to the other store the guys recommended in Anaheim and probably play it again or online. Why would I ever go back to MonkeySports?!?
