Express service (oil change and tire rotation) was very quick and easy. My only issue was the nearly 20 minute wait after my car was finished before I got the paperwork so I could leave. He paid attention to what was important to us and made the perfect recommendation/decision by showing us a 2018 Honda Odyssey. He took a tremendous amount of time explaining the car and it was clear he knew his product. The negotiation was a breeze and all the dealer employees were professional, attentive and honest throughout the process. They even pointed out a minor flaw in the bumper we didn't notice and made arrangements to address it! When doing my research, I selected 3 vendors an Silko came out well above the others not only in price but in service.

On a time crunch, I emailed 10+ local Honda dealerships, stating that I planned to buy a 2017 Honda Civic in a specific color that weekend, and that I'd buy from the dealership with the best price. Darnell from Silko emailed me back with the most competitive quote, breaking down the vehicle price, plus taxes and fees. I replied that if this was the price in full, I would come down that afternoon. I left work early and trekked 1.5 hours to Silko in a torrential downpour. We sat down to go over the paperwork, and there was an unexpected fee tacked on for wheel locks, a feature I hadn't requested.The manager insisted they were mandatory on this car color (which I later learned is not true). When I showed him that Silko's quote made no mention of this, he repeatedly circled a disclaimer in the bottom of the email chain stating that "accessories are additional". The implication being that the price would go up should I choose to add accessories.The wheel locks were not an optional accessory, and as such, should have been disclosed as part of the vehicle price in my correspondence with Darnell.The manager was visibly irritated by this logical argument. He refused to budge and was ultimately willing to lose the entire sale over $199. For me, it was not the money that was the issue, it was the deception of hidden "extras". I could have went to any other Honda dealership, but chose Silko because they pretended to beat the prices of their competitors. I was very specific about the exact car I wanted, and was quoted a hard number in writing; the dealership should have had the integrity to honor its word. Furthermore, despite there being no mention of this in our emails, the manager suddenly refused the deal if I paid in full instead of financing the car. He first tried to weasel his way out of the quoted price by saying he couldn't honor it unless I paid in cash that same day. I assured him that my bank was on-call to wire the funds immediately, to which he responded with dead silence and a 15 second, penetrating stare. Not the response he was expecting, I guess. My window in which to buy a car was limited, and I wasted valuable time driving all the way to Silko and arguing over details that should've been disclosed beforehand. I especially felt terrible for the salesman, Raul, who did everything right and deserved the sale. I stormed out of Silko and wound up at a competing Honda dealership that same night. After explaining my awful experience at Silko, Boch beat their price and I bought a new Civic on the spot. I also decided to buy the wheel locks, which were optional, and only cost $97. The following day, I received a form letter from Darnell asking how my Silko visit went. Predictably, my detailed reply was ignored. Received another form letter from Silko last week, apologizing for "not having the car I was looking for", but encouraging me to come in for service. Just pathetic. read more

I recently had my very first experience buying a car and I thought Silko Honda did a good job with helping me through the process. Although I started out looking to buy and ended up with a lease (2012 Civic Coupe EX), everything was explained accurately to me and I did not feel pressured by the salesman. I was able to take a test drive with 2 different vehicles and got a good feel for what I was getting myself into. After a couple hours of being in the dealership, the paperwork was done and I was able to pick up my car 2 days later (I had to deal with insurance stuff, otherwise it would have been a same-day deal) There are two things that could improve.... 1) The dealership gives you a voucher for a free inspection at the Sonoco about 2 miles down the road, but to me it would have been much more convenient for it to have been done by the time I picked up the car. 2) I received a call 1 week later asking for 4 references before Honda would send me my payment statements. There was no mention of needing references throughout the entire process. It's not that I can't provide these references, but I really hope I'm not getting phone calls for weeks to come about things they forgot to have me fill out on day 1. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience with the salesman and I am absolutely in love with the car...I will absolutely recommend this dealership to friends/family and will be returning for future leases/purchases. read more

Well, I have a 2012 Odyssey that I purchased from Silko just 9 moths ago. I few days ago I received a phone call from a salesman stating that they wanted to purchase our car back and put us in a new model, either same model that I currently have or upgrade for the same monthly price or less. The salesman stated that they "would roll out the red carpet and really make it worth our while and would wash our vehicle as a thank you" if we could come in and see what they have to offer. So the wife and I went to the dealer where we met with the salesman and specifically told him that: I drove 40 minutes to see what they had to offer, so make it worth while I did not want my monthly payments to increase I wanted to make this quick and was looking for similar model and next one up I did not want them to come back with a higher monthly payment, under no circumstances I did not want that So, after filling out all of the paperwork and almost 2 hours later, here is my "red carpet" deal: For alike car, payment was $20 more a month, than my current payment For the next model up, $70 more a month, than my current payment After a quick process of negotiation that went nowhere, we left! After traveling an hour to look at a car there and eventually buying it the sale associate Calvin told us repeatedly that Silko would cover the cost of the inspection. After picking up the car we were given a voucher to go to a garage near there which we did but the machine was broken. After explaining that we lived an hour away and could not easily come back when it was fixed the gentleman there said that we could go to shop near us and just email Silko the bill to get reimbursed. Silko Honda is your typical car dealership. No better, no worse. All of the things you'd expect to encounter/hear when dealing with a car salesman, you get them all here. I've dealt with them twice (and only because we like Honda's, and it's close by). At least in my experience, they will... 1) Greet you the half second you step out of your car. Not a bad thing I guess, especially if you want to look at a car. Can't buy one without a salesman. 2) Be very nice and friendly when you're looking for the "right" car, but know that's their job. Would they be that nice to you otherwise? Hmm... 3) Offer you the MSRP price. Don't ever accept their first offer. That goes for every dealership. 4) Go back to their "manager" (constantly) for approval when you say you want a better payment. The manager will eventually sit with you too. They'll act like they can't do it...like what you're asking for is ridiculous. Do the math. You'll know what's ridiculous or not. Don't let them tell you. 5) Act like the final agreed upon payment terms were a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and that they've never had to go so low before. The salesman actually told me he was basically giving away the car. 6) Offer you a ridiculously low trade in for your vehicle, and will lie to you to get you to think it's great. I was told my trade in was beyond what anyone wanted, that they'd need to sell it to a warehouse or something. No less than 3 days later, I see it listed on their website for over 50% of what they offered me. Guess it's not as junky as i was lead to believe. 7) Hound you and hound you to give them a good rating when Honda corporate calls you for a survey. "Has to be 5 stars", they'll say. My aunt bought a car from silko hojda with a lifetime warranty. they would not honor it. after having it towed three times and told her they would not fix it. they sent her to chevy who sent her back to silko. silko promised to pay the $300 owed to chevy but then refused. my aunt who is elderly and disable is now the out the $375 that is almost half of her monthly disability check. will never go there again. read more

Signed up for yelp just so I could leave this review. Totally screwed me when I bought my car. Neglected to tell me about safety issues the car had and also pitched a fake warrantee. Car started breaking down after the first year and it covered nothing. Then, when I called the finance department to discuss my options, never called me back. Left multiple voicemails and nothing. Would never use again and will make sure my friends and family never goes there again. Silko Honda Sucks!!! If you want to deal with a dealer that plays tricks with you at every step, then choose Silko Honda! We came to there with a quote that I got from their internet salesperson. We waited in the lobby for any salesperson to talk to us for more than 10 min. At the beginning they refused to drop anymore. Then they agreed to drop $50. Though the price is far from our expectation, but we agreed that if they drop another $50. We would take it. They refused to do so. They said "Thank you. Goodbye!" directly. OK, this is fine. Though people say that the best business came from negotiation, they refused to do so. The next day, they called me, agreeing with the price we offered. Fine, with the hope that we can make the deal, I asked my friend to drive me there again, which took more than half an hour one way. Since price was settled, we started to talk about the finance. They asked my social security number and then showed me two numbers, one is the payment for 36 months with apr of 0.9%, another one is the payment for 60 months with apr of 1.9%. However, after my calculation, the numbers turned out to be based an apr more than 6%! which means $30 more per month! Then they explained that this is based on some flow rate. And in the final contract, the rate will be different. Then what's the point of showing me this if this is not the apr we are going to use? Fine, then we started to work on the contract paper work. I asked about the car milage. The salesperson said that it was the same car we saw the day before. But now it has a milage of 18, instead of 8, and this is the reason why they agreed to drop $50. And this is the only one of the brown color we chose. What? Did you tell me about this over the phone? If they told me this in advance, I wouldn't take the pain to drive to their location. Is this HONESTY? At the beginning, I already said that I want a brand new car better with a milage of less than 8 miles, not a car that has been tested by a lot of people. I don't care to change to a different color. You know what, then they had a another one with 8 miles out in the parking lot. Just 5 min ago, you just had one of brown in stock. Right now, you had the second one! After filling the contract, the salesperson told us to wait and we could talk to the financial guy afterwards. After half an hour waiting, Bill, a manage came out, saying that maybe I would have an apr of 4%, but not quite sure at that moment; if we don't want to wait there, we can go back first and he would call me later. 4% is high, but we can still accept that. With the naive thought that we would pick up the car the following day, I left happily. But I made a mistake at that moment, which I think they did on purpose: THEY DID NOT GIVE ME THE CONTRACT I SIGNED. This occurred to me on my way back home, but I thought maybe not a big deal, maybe they are trustable. However, I was wrong!!!! Till the noon of the following day, no phone calls. I called the salesperson asking about the apr since I have to go the bank for the downpayment check. He said he would check and call me back. But no call back after 2 hours!!! At the end of the day, Bill called me with a rude manner. He said that they wouldn't make the deal with me at that price and they already canceled the transaction since when he talked to me, I expressed that we were going to buy from another dealer. What should I say? I'd like to call him a LIAR! I didn't say anything like this when he talked to us. If I would like to buy from another dealer, why did I sign the contract? Of course, right now you can say that there is no such contract since I forgot to ask for it, my huge mistake. I think they didn't want to make the deal at the beginning. But they still asked 5 banks to pull my credit history. Maybe at the time he talked to me, he already cancelled the transaction, without informing me, which is huge waste of my time and energy! Service: Silko Honda, Raynham, MA - Took it in for 350$ tuneup. They did nothing except break things. My brakes that were "fine" were days from being needing to be changed. Oil wasn't changed. They flushed my brake fluid but didn't tighten the bolt, so they were fading by the end of the day. I brought it back in, "Oh, we wouldn't have anything to do with that." They brought out a mildly dirty air filter (still had many months in it) to scare me into getting it replaced. Absolutely horrendous. read more

I have never written an on line review, but after my experience last week at Silko Honda I was compelled to do so. The buying experience was average at best (the sales rep was unshaven, disheveled, stunk of smoke & didn't follow thru on any of the items agreed upon). The finance & sales managers could not have been more condescending. I only saw it through bc they had the exact car I wanted - and did honor the price they listed on line. They offer "free" basic car care for 2 yrs, though we all know that is built into the price somehow, so I scheduled my 1st oil chg. The tech did not introduce himself or greet me & when I said good morning to him, he ignored me. Then he loudly "scolded me" - in front of other techs & customers - that I was supposed to use the express service entrance. A fact no one communicated to me when I booked. When I asked if I could clarify the maintenance code that came up, he never responded ... I asked anyway as I refuse to be intimidated. His answer clearly demonstrated that he either didn't know the answer or wasn't listening to the question. I love that Honda recommends you "see your dealer for all your questions." HA. You can imagine the rest of the experience I am sure. When the oil change was complete - I trust it goes without saying that my confidence level in the service - is low - the tech (listed on my receipt as Jared) was a modicum more polite which, unfortunately, I can only deduce is because, while I was waiting, I asked the cashier for the service manager's name. If he simply apologized and said he was having a bad day, it would have been the end of it. Every business deserves a 2nd chance, But courtesy & service are essential to any business and Silko failed on both - twice. Perhaps the worse part is that an explanation of my disappointment to Tony Costa, the service manager has been completely ignored. Again, if Tony had reached out to rectify the situation, I would not be writing this review. The cost of free at Silko is too expensive. They were a great dealership, I bought 4 cars from them since 2002. BUT, when I went to redeem their 'Lifetime Warranty' they did not honor their word. I did the maintenance, had it documented, but, could not prove I rotated my tires every 10,000 miles, which has nothing at all to do with a motor or transmission replacement. One exchange with Silko went like this, I asked if they could honor their guarantee and they said "Well we have nothing to do with it, you got to take it up with the insurance company." Really? I bought the car from you, and you sold me on your 'Lifetime Guarantee', it is you that must figure out the inner machinations of your insurance company and fix my car. I called Honda in Alabama direct, I talked with mechanics, and called a lawyer. Tire rotation is only 'recommended' by Honda every 15,000 miles for even tire wear. Also, some places recommend not to rotate, to keep the rear tires fresh. Honda said to me "No correlation with a failed tranny, which dealer was this?". It is a scam. So, I thought of lawsuit for breach of warranty, but, do not have the time. Plus, lawyers around our state only care if their is a possibility of millions in a settlement. "I could take this on for $1500.00, and draft a letter and see what happens." Ah, no thanks. I went to Boch Honda. Bought another brand new Honda, and have been telling anyone who will listen to the scam Silko is running. I actually created a portfolio with all of my maintenance records that I have scanned and still considering BBB, Mass State Attorney General, HONDA USA, etc. Just got other priorities. Unfortunately, not a great experience with Silko Honda this time around. My wife went on a Saturday, knew exactly the price that folks were paying for minivans and what her trade was worth. She told the salesperson she had a baby at home and couldn't wait around. More than 2 hours later, she was given an initial offer that didn't reflect the value of her car or the selling price of the minivan. She left - the next day, with barely any negotiating, they came down $3000 and we decided to purchase. It was unclear to us why they didn't come closer the first time - we were repeat customers and it felt like a complete lack of transparency on their part (perhaps I'm just annoyed you have to negotiate in the first place - but $3000 is a lot to take someone for a ride on). Because we have two young kids, we asked for all the paperwork to be done when we got there and were promised by the salesperson it would be. It wasn't. When the salesperson asked Maria, one of the sale processors, how long it would be - she said there were three people ahead of us. When we said we had an appointment, she brushed us off and was incredibly rude. Fortunately, one of the managers that day helped us out (b/c we had a fussy baby with us). The salesperson saw the my wife and I needed to move carseats from one car to the other; he didn't help (even though we were balancing our two young kids with us). He didn't help us set up the car (as far as the bluetooth connection, etc). We felt lied to at multiple different steps of the process. We've bought from Silko before and it was much smoother. We're likely not to buy from them again. If we didn't have two young children, we would have canceled the deal and went some place else. My advice is to avoid Silko - we had a much better experience two cars ago at Herb Chambers and probably would go back there next time. read more

The dealership makes false promises. Total disappointment on every level. we bought a certified used car from Silko Honda. Took them 4 hours to do the paperwork. And then additional 2 hours for registration. ON the Second day the car was dead. wont start. I called them and they asked me to get the car to Them. Thankfully we have AAA and were able to get it to them and they replaced the battery. The offer was free car washes and every other oil change is Free, when we bought certified used car from them . For free car wash they they just sprinkled water on the car and gave it back. My car would be washed better if I drove in rain, For Oil changes the offer is every other oil change is free. I asked during the sales process and I was informed that I could get one oil change any where and the next oil change is Free. I cross checked by asking, "so its not buy one get one free"? They asserted that I could get oil Change done at any place and the next one would be Free. Well When I took the car in for oil change,I was informed, rather rudely that it was buy one get one deal, over charged me for the service and no they would not diagnose the weird noises car was making without a diagnostic fee, When I spoke with the manager about this behavior, the manager defended him and made personal attacks on me!! The manager got angry and talked to me in a way that was not very appropriate ( to say the least, He thought I was stupid) So far i have not needed to use their so called "Power train warranty" but I am sure that would be a total disappointment too. read more

It's worth the 45 min drive for Silko. I'm in Cambridge and I'm on my 3rd Silko Honda (CR-V and two Odysseys). Note that it's a hassle to go there from north of the Pike, and I go often to get my free 2-years of oil changes and maintenance. The reason why I changed dealerships (and brands - I used to have Toyota) is because Silko has given me the best prices, period. I saved thousands of dollars getting these Hondas. Everyone knows Hondas are really popular with the college crowd, so I am guessing that any dealership in the Boston area has plenty of customers and do not need to be that aggressive with prices or that customer-friendly. Silko looks and acts like a dealership that's off the beaten path. They're just nicer and they're much more willing to bargain to get my business. They also offer little perks, surprising me every time. For example, I just got my free oil change/tire rotation/check and they washed the car while they were at it. I won't say they transcend the industry. They'll still try to sell you extras and they won't give you a handout for no reason. But they're so much better than all the other Honda dealerships I've been to, and I've tried every single one with a decent rating in the metro Boston area, along with a few in the suburbs (Herb Chambers, Bernardi). Silko pushes extras less obnoxiously and once again, they gave me the best price. That's why, although I'm so busy and hate the drive down to Raynham, all my cars are from Silko now. read more

After years of purchasing and leasing cars here, I could not be more angry about the last visit we had with Silko Honda. Customer service at our absolute worst. After buying one car, and leasing 2, we had years of service with them. During the end of our lease we went in to see what our options were, and they gave us the 'sorry theres nothing we can do attitude" They couldn't get us in the new car we wanted , and seemed to not even care that we were even considering leaving to lease from someone else. Well we did. We leased from someone else. Then we went to turn the lease in and thats when things really went south. We had paid for a tire and wheels package and brought the car in to be checked out and make sure everything was sufficient before we officially grounded the lease. Well they call us 4 days later and tell us that our tire and wheel package ended 3 months before the terms of our lease ended? thats the most obscured thing I've ever heard. You pay for a warranty for a the length of the lease and clearly this was a human error type on Hondas behalf. After asking for a manager, and once again getting that "we don't give a sh*t attitude, you signed for it" by the very rude blonde sales woman , we were really ready to blow. Who treats there customers like that? Also , they just ripped the plates off the car and told us to go turn them into the DMV. This is THE WORST car experience I have ever had, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know to NEVER lease or purchase a car from Silko Honda. The least you can do is pretend to care, or own up to the fact that you made a typo mistake 3 year ago. I mean at least give me the time of day and explain how something like this could possibly happen. Don't throw our license plates at us and tell us to finish the job. Even my insurance company was disgusted by there behavior as they are supposed to be responsible for turning in the plates. This kind of behavior has put the worst taste in my mouth and is absolutely disgusting. You should be ashamed of that kind of dealer customer relationship and perhaps hire people with manners who actually know how to do there job. I have never been treated so poorly at any establishment! We got to the point of purchasing a used vehicle and going through all the paper work. Then we kept getting put off when we could pick the vehicle up. Our salesman was just an inbetween person who didn't know what was going on. Finally one person said the registration was complete then they said it would be another week to ten days because of the registration. Very unprofessional and shady at best! Purchased a 2012 Camaro, with about 19400 miles on it. It is/was a great looking car. Upon arrival the, we took the car for a test drive. Keeping in mind I've never driven one before, the car seemed to drive well. Listening to the car during the test drive, you could hear the clutch make a noise when disengaged in 1st gear. It was assured that this was normal, and the car was in complete working order as they do maintenance on the cars before sale. During negotiations, the car was more than $2200 than advertised due to these so-called wheel locks and them doing "repairs and maintenance before it was ready for sale". Though no one could explain to me how the extra money was allocated, I liked the car so much, I took it upon myself to ignore the non-sense sales routine. It was what I wanted, a 2012, and I was going to overlook the sales routine to secure what I wanted. Some negotiation later, we agreed on a price. Going over with the sales team Juan, it was guaranteed that this would be safe from malfunctions, defects or impurities for a period of 90 days or 3750 miles. Just about 30 days later, and only about 1,700 I was able to schedule an appointment at my local Chevrolet Dealer. In this time, I've driven the car a short while. I've started the car maybe 20 times, and drive it to Maine and New Hampshire for business trips. I drive a lot in my industry. I spoke with them and explained that I just purchase the car. I was told that noise is completely normal, and that I'd appreciate you checking it out (paying diagnostics fees). I also asked to change the oil, as, you never know with these kinds of things. A few hours later, they report to me that the clutch as a few bent fingers, and that it should be replaced, as well as the bearings, etc. This was about $2220 from the dealer. I called the Dealership, Silko Honda, to explain the report. Left a voicemail, and waited a day. I received a call from a Rodney, which I believe is a "service manager" who proceeded to yell and belittle me. He told me that I cannot drive stick. He proceeded to tell me that I "ride the clutch" and that is why the fingers are bent. I've never met nor spoken to this person nor has he driven in the car with me. He told me that the dealer I took it to specifically told him this. As if the person I took it to would even have that knowledge. Without getting totally aggravated in disbelief, I ended the call. After trying to go through the sales person I purchased from, Rick, just to, at minimum, talk about the issue. No one seems to care. "I personally cannot do anything". This to me, is completely unacceptable communication and business in general. The car was also sold with a recall, which from what Chevrolet reports, is illegal in Massachusetts. Regardless, it should have been fixed. I was told "it needs to be registered in someone's name, before they will work on it". Myself, as well as others whom I've known to have done business with Silko Honda, will no longer do business with Silko Honda. I would advise anyone, who is not getting something new, or under warranty to stay away. Even then, I'd never recommend anyone I know to go here, it's just a typical car dealer, especially when buying used. read more

Gotta start with - Do NOT use Herb Chambers Honda in Dorchester. Went there for Lease #2. To be honest, I started at Ocean Honda in Brockton because Raynham was kind of a hike from my Whitman home and my son purchased his car there and got a good deal. Because of this, I went there over the summer, I wanted to see what models were available for when my lease was up and I met Mary. When I got closer to my lease end, I wanted to give Mary my business but, she left and was now in Dorchester. Dorchester was still a hike (maybe worse) so, I went back to Brockton but, didn't get far (this was on a Sunday/holiday weekend). They gave me a price $50 higher in my payment from what Mary quoted a few months earlier so, while I was in Brockton, I called Mary at her new spot. She said she could do much better. I felt a bit of loyalty since we talked over the summer so, I headed to Dorchester. She gave me a price and I agreed. Went to sign the papers and the price was boosted $17 due to being "Tier 2 credit" and they were still waiting on that approval. They still wanted me to sign the lease papers anyway and I refused because it wasn't what I was quoted and still hadn't been approved yet. They gave me attitude and tried to bully me with the finance guys resume on being in the finance biz for 20 years blah blah...I went home (after 4 hours of sitting there) with my old car. The next morning (Holiday - Columbus Day) I called the Silko Honda dealership (where I got lease #1) and told them the story. I spoke to Katherine and she quoted me a lower price on the phone on a WAY better car. I show up and was introduced to my Specialist Desiree. She walks me outside and the car is amazing, so much so, I thought it was bait and switch - but nope, Desiree says yep, this is the same car with the same price as my quote. I took the car for a run and was amazed how much nicer than I thought it would be and yes, I bought it. Waiting in the Silko Honda in Raynham showroom, I immediately called Herb Chambers and cancelled my paperwork, told them to shred the check. Said I wasn't buying from them and told the same to two follow up, "seal the deal" callers. I put a stop on the first payment check written at Herb Chambers. I drive home in my new car, drive to work the next day and love every minute. The following day - 2 days after I told Herb Chambers in Dorchester to cancel the deal - I check my bank account and they had deposited my check the day after I cancelled - WITHOUT A CONTRACT. The good news - Desiree at Silko Honda of Raynham was super informative, fully knew the specs of my car and, even better, was no joke, no sleaze, no run around. Katherine, the Sales Manager told me Tier 2 only meant they had to make a call to the underwriter to approve it. IT'S NOT A HIGHER RATE. Shady Herb Chambers. Do not shop there. Had the best experience with Katherine and Desiree - they were so helpful, knowledgable and no bullshit!! Go with your gut. If it doesn't seem right - leave and then call Silko in Raynham. I'll be back in 3 when this lease is up! read more
