I've long held firm on the belief that car dealers are the lowest life form in society. The very epicenter of these multi million dollar enterprises is the service dept. This is where the perfect storm of increasingly more complicated cars and naive owners that think a dealership cares for anything except their money meet. My story begins with my 2019 Sierra needing a catalytic converter at just 110k miles. After looking around online I came across an aftermarket one, not knowing that most GM trucks can't use aftermarket, you'll have an engine light after this is installed but at least its drivable. I brought it to Mastria to have it diagnosed and sure enough it was the aftermarket cat and an O2 sensor. They were able to clear the light (and noted the new cat was welded in and they didnt know how to get it out, crackheads do it in under a minute in the dark with no special tools or lift) and I had to drive it for 125 miles for the ECM to reset so I could go for inspection. I did this and brought it back, only to be told it now needs tires. They never mentioned this days earlier when they had it. They gave me a quote for tires. I saved about $500 buying online and having them installed locally. In this time the engine light came back on. So I emailed looking for a quote on the OEM cat, which was ignored so I went in person and was handed a quote for $3700 including 6 manifold nuts at $7 each with the parts counter telling me these are needed when changing a cat out. These are just everyday flare nuts, nothing special and the stock ones are just as reusable as any other nut on a vehicle. At this point I started to consider using the $3-4,000 as a down-payment to trade in so I started browsing their site and see a $698 "documentation fee" tacked on to all auto sales, on top of tax and title. Can you imagine being so full of yourself you charge people a fine for choosing to do business with you?! In a state that banned junk fees these guys charge more than a month's truck payment LMAO. Anyway back to the cat. Looking around online I found the exact same OEM cat 45 mins away at Tasca Parts Online for $1,000 less. No other parts or hardware I didn't need added on. I did have to pay $440 shipping which they refunded when I picked up the new part at their store in Cranston. Yari over there was great to deal with and kept me informed on where the part was throughout the process. I paid to have it put on at a custom exhaust shop and its all fixed at last. While this experience made me a "one and done" GM owner it was great to work with someone that saved me so much. Words of advice when dealing with dealerships, especially ones like Mastria. -Always get a second opinion, especially when they start trying to sell you a credit card. Dealers didn't earn the "stealership" label accidentally. -Shop around. -Check consumer reports to see where the brand stands and why. GMC is #23 of the 26 auto brands for overall satisfaction. No domestic brands even made the top 7. GMC is only staying profitable due to "high margin" truck sales, a fancy way of saying "grossly overpriced". -Do your research on potential big ticket repairs, had I seen all the forums and enthusiast pages talking about this exact item I would have stayed with Toyota (#1 on Consumer Reports list) read more

Purchased used 2023 Chevy Express 9/15/25 with 18,000 miles. The State requires them to provide a 90 day warranty. After 1 month we returned for a windshield trim Gasket coming out. They pushed it back into position. It came out again. We brought it back a second time. They said they would have to order a new gasket. The gasket came in so we returned for the third time. They would not fix it as they said the windshield was not original GM. We believe they have an obligation to get this right. They said the warranty does not apply to "cosmetic defects", only safety defects. read more

I bought a pre-owned vehicle through them which wasn't covered under the vehicle maker's warranty anymore. GMC Mastria sold me an extended warranty through GWC Warranty. When I tried to bring my car in for repairs, they've advised me that they don't work with this kind of warranty for repairs. Why would they sell GWC and not take it when it comes to repairs??? I had a pretty bad experience with this dealership but was planning to put it behind me and move on, I've even since bought a car from Herb Chambers (great experience by the way!) and am happy with how things worked out. However, today I received a text from the salesman I was working with at this dealership, accusing me of writing a bad review that I did not. Apparently they have lots of unhappy customers and cannot keep track of who they've upset. Back story on my experience here is that I told them I planned to finance with my own bank over the phone and in person, which they seemed fine with. After my test drive I attempted to buy the car I loved to be told I could not purchase through my own bank and they only sell to people who will finance through them. They also told me it would take TEN days for my car to be registered once I purchased it because I'm out of state (from Rhode Island) and it was the RI DMV's fault for the length of time. They made buying this car impossible which is why I eventually passed after a lot of back and forth. I forgot about them until the texts I received today, which I've attached to this review. It's incredibly inappropriate and disrespectful and makes me very concerned that these people have my personal information to apparently use however they see fit. I am so thankful I listened to my gut and walked away when they were getting shady and apparently I was right. Perhaps the worst service department on the planet. Had an issue with my brand new Buick since the day I bought the car from mastria. However Virgil and Scott in service both told me that the car has no issues. We don't see any codes. However driving the car anyone would know there were powertrain/ engine issues that do not register a code. Not sure why they would not want to fix something that was still under warranty? The car had numerous safety bulletins called out and they were never looked into while servicing the car still under warranty at this dealership. Once that car was out of warranty of course then they started to bring issues to my attention. The money grab. Filed a complaint with Buick to look into this. If this is representative of the Mastria dealership and the automobile brands they represent then I would stay away . read more

The service department and management at this dealership has to be the worst I have ever dealt with. I brought my new GMC Acadia in for a 15 hour recall in April 2024. Then traveled to South Carolina from Martha's Vineyard on our first family vacation in 9 years. Half way there our car broke down on the side of the highway. Turns out, the head service guy at this dealership who fixed my car put the breaks in upside down which popped the break line and break fluid leaked all over the inside of the tire. We could have lost our breaks but thank god we didn't. When I tried to contact the service department no one but the service manager could help me but he was not available. This was the most stressful thing that could have happened. My daughter has a disability and needless to say she was very upset. Our vacation was ruined and we had to pay. out of pocket to have the repair fixed. Mastria did pay us back for the repair but that was it. I also left a message for the dealership manager but I never heard from him. I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

Checked out online vehicles and put in a bid for a car. Told a supervisor at Mastria I lack time and need to purchase vehicle at agreed upon price. Although they had to check out my trade-in. After checking out my car, we agreed upon a final price (trade-in, etc). The next day my transmission failed and I had to replace my transmission, which was just under $700. Two days later, with a bank check in my hand, went to Mastria to buy my new car. While looking over the final papers, I saw the price was $1000 higher than what we agreed upon. Salesman told me "You replaced your transmission". I agreed, stating it cost me almost $700 and it's brand new. So why are you charging me more? His answer: "You wouldn't have been able to drive it here if you didn't replace the transmission". Told him I had to go, put the check back in my pocket and left. The salesman was asking me "Can you come back tomorrow to sign the papers?" I've never been back, and I will never go back. read more

We purchased a new GMC Sierra last week from Mastria GMC and had an excellent experience with this purchase... initially. I went to two other GMC dealerships and a Chevrolet dealership before coming to Mastria - out of all the dealerships I felt this was the best experience. I did my homework I knew exactly what I wanted & how much I was willing to pay, and what I wanted for a trade allowance - Mastria "hit" the number and earned my business. They were working on a skeleton crew, but I was disappointed that we had to wait so long with their finance department, which resulted in a lack luster delivery. Also the finance representative was fantastically competent and convincing, but someone with less experience would have been taken for a "ride" with all of the extras - not presenting the best financing, wheel protection, paint protection, 3rd party bumper to bumper warranties - that all add to higher monthly cost of ownership. This process was painfully slow & no delivery should take over 2 hours. Also, If there is room for improvement at this dealership - it's where almost all sales fall flat, which is related to follow up. I did get some computer generated emails, but when I went in to pick up my registration yesterday no one knew who I was... guys I just spent $50K 6 days ago here? Car dealers look at sales as units, but for the individual spending money it's a really big deal & should be treated as such. Following up with customers is the way that dealers can ensure that people come back for service & to buy another vehicle. **Update today I gave my salesperson another chance today to help me set up an appointment to get my oil changed. He brushed me off with telling me I could wait until 7500 miles before the 1st. oil change & that GM won't pay for it until oil life is @ 20%. I told him I was happy to pay for it to get the oil changed early. He said he'd have service contact me... they never did. The woman I dealt with sent me a text saying her manager said he would sell it to me for 45K. We went back and forth with a few more text talking about this vehicle. Mentioning this exact vehicle several times. I went there today with cash and pre-approved loan in hand to buy vehicle. They added a $1500.00 premium on to the MSRP and said the woman who sent the text didn't know what she was talking about. That's the nice part about text and e-mails, they are proof of what was said. Nothing to misunderstand. I have it all in writing. The days of Sleazeball car dealers is alive and well down at the Mastria Motor Group. AVOID THESE PEOPLE LIKE YOU WOULD AVOID STD's!!! You will be sorry if you take your vehicle in to Mastria for major service. I own a 2016 Sierra with the troublesome transmissions. I was told i needed either a rebuild tranny or a new one. This truck is my company work truck so i opted for the new tranny for 5 K with a warranty and the fact that i was told it would be a one day turnaround to install the transmission. I got the truck back 3 days later and the new transmission lasted less than 24 hours leaving me stranded 70 miles for home. After waiting all day for a tow , i have yet to receive a explanation of the failure of the new transmission. I am a businessman and trusted that GMC had certified technicians would be a quick turnaround. Nope i lost an entire week of work and no timeline on when i will get the truck back. Had a trade in lease deal. Signed a Purchase and sales and they reneged on the deal when I showed up the next morning blatantly lying why. The sales guy Paul was great explained how they could do this deal and then the finance guy lied to my face saying that it's impossible. So basically the general manager saw the deal in the morning didn't agree with it and they basically said tough luck see ya!!!! I will never use them Again and don't recommend anyone going there unless they want to lose their shirts . In short ... shop around folks there are better dealers out there !!!! read more

Don't usually write reviews but this place kinda blows. Found a used truck I really liked here. Just so happened a friend of mine in the car business knew someone at this dealership, made a phone call to them and said they would take care of me. Got there, test drove the truck, loved it. Got to talking numbers and said they would knock 200 bucks off for me. Geee thanks. 200 bucks off a 40 thousand dollar truck, you're a real pal . What ever, I get it. Agree to the 200 off since they wouldn't go any lower. Better than nothing I guess. Go in to talk to the finance guy. Comes across as arrogant. Told him I wanted to finance through my bank. He said ok well just add that 200 back on then if you're not financing through us. I was like ummm why? He said since your not gonna finance with us you don't get the 200 off. Almost walked out at that point since they were being that cheap and petty. But I loved the truck. Decide to finance through them anyway. Asked the sales person if they would throw in a set of black Chevy bow ties (having a friend in the car business I know this is possible). Said they are not a Chevy dealership but he can order them and I can pay for them i wanted. I knew he could have if he wanted. The Chevy dealership is right next door. My buddy said he gets black bow ties for his customers pretty often. So I finalized the purchase. Only issues I had pre purchase was a broken wire on the rear glass for the defrost and the engine compartment looking like crap covered in leaves and pine needles, and there was no spare key. Said it would be taken care of by the time I pick it up and that the key guy only comes on mondays. Apparently their techs can't program a key. Go to pick up the truck a few days later. Waited over 2 hours to finally get the truck. Thing still didn't have a sticker on it, glass couldn't be fixed and the they did a half ass job cleaning under the hood. They had plenty of time to have that truck ready for me when I came. Over 2 hours is unacceptable in my opinion. Also could have slapped a coat of wax on the thing. 40k and it looked like they ran it through the car wash real quick. Ended up Having to order a new back windshield. Said it would take a couple weeks to get it. Never heard anything from anyone. Called a month later and service said the glass has been there for a while. Thanks for letting me know. Went and dropped it off, got the glass fixed and spare key. Hopefully won't have to deal with them again. Overall I just think it was a shitty experience. Bad attitudes, not willing to satisfy the customer on any end. 40k is a good chunk of change to be spending at a business. I guess I just expected a little more. read more

My review is on the purchase experience as well as the service experience. To begin, I hate car shopping. I had been searching for a particular model used car in June/July 2020 and ran into issues with it selling before I could get there or not being as advertised. I saw one at Mastria with low mileage and a reasonable price. I went in on 4th of July weekend during Covid and met Dave LaLiberte. They were busy and I told him that I was interested in looking at the specific car. He apologized for being so busy and told that he would get the keys for me to look at it, take it for a ride and then we could sit and talk if I was still interested. He copied my Drivers License and walked me out, put a plate on it and made sure I was good to go. Everything was as expected so as I returned we sat down. They appraised my trade and gave me a number. The wiggle room was small as these cars (and most used cars) were in high demand. I had researched and their price was fair. We came to an agreement with no pressure at all. I said that I would pay cash and he did not force me to listen to the financing "deals," etc. He gave me a delivery date of Monday and the total amount due. Upon my return on Monday, I met with the finance manager who again was no pressure. He handed me an iPad and said that while he posted my check to look at the warranty offers and if not interested just to click so. The individual assigned to swap my plates and show me around the car was accommodating and i was out of there without much delay. Having lived by the mantra not to go to the dealership for anything but warranty or included service I took the car to a Jiffy Lube for my first oil change (full synthetic). Price shocked me. I got an email from the dealership after that oil change with their service pricing and their normal price was 40% less than Jiffy Lube and included full inspections (with video proof emailed after). Their waiting room is also a nice setup to relax or work. They also have a decent complimentary coffee machine, bottled water and fresh pastries (the receptionist picks them up from a bakery). The wait is usually about an hour. i have continued to return for service and the service advisors are great. Today I returned as i was losing air in 2 tires and was thinking I should just get a new set of tires. I was surprised that their pricing was almost the same as local tire shops and they have a price match guarantee. Turns out that they could repair one tire and the other needs to be replaced. They advised that due to the tread left on the other tires and absence of uneven wear they would recommend just getting a single matching tire. A dealership that downsells???? to top it all off they vacuum and wash your car with every service visit. Mastria has definitely broken my long-held belief of car dealerships. read more

I visited MASTRIA AUTO in Raynham on 10/08/16 in the hopes of buying 2 new 2017 General Motors cars. I met with a salesperson and decided the first purchase would be a 2017 GMC Terrain, loaded. I explained I was down-sizing from a Silverado 1/2 ton 4wl.drive and still needed towing capacity. The trade was a 2008 Chevy 1/2 ton 4 whl. drive, 165k, no dents, no rust, good paint and tires. It did have an engine light diagnoses saying it was a purge valve above the gas tank. I only got 2,000.00 for the trade. The salesman said he could have the service dept. install a receiver hitch for 401.41 total cost for parts, installation and tax. This was a price quote NOT an estimate. I could have easily bought and installed the receiver myself, being it is 6 bolts and an easy job but I decided to treat myself and let Mastria install it. On 10/15/ 2016 I dropped off my new GMC for the receiver hitch to be installed. The truck was logged in by a service advisor, I`ll call him "James". I double checked the final cost before leaving and it was still 401.41. They ended up installing an under-sized 1-1/4 receiver and even the hitch guru from U-Haul up the street said I got taken. Mastria listened kindly to this concern and I never heard back. When I was picking up the 2017 Terrain I paid 36,000.00 WEEKS BEFORE the the bill was now 12.54 MORE than the QUOTE. I considered this a hidden charge and refused to pay it. "James" CAME BACK AT ME AGRESSIVELY and said ..."You WILL understand that if the cost goes up YOU WILL PAY IT". The cost was reversed and the fact that "James" tried to intimidate me and put my back to the wall in front of my partner left me aghast and we left. It was a direct result of James`s lack of respect that sent us out the door to ANOTHER local GM dealer to buy the second new car. I don`t think that service advisor has the respect for customers, experience, or decorum to sweep the parking lot ... let-alone be servce dept. manager. In my experience with Mastria Raynam they BLEED you for every cent they can, paint on a smile and mill about the showroom waiting for the next fish. read more

Worst dealership to deal with regarding service! They're a bunch of crooks. No such thing as free tires for life! I bring my car in because my front two tires are worn down to the wires. All four tires were replaced by them in March of 2014. At that time no alignment was done. I've never heard of such a thing, nor was I asked if I wanted an alignment. Then I get the excuse because I denied the 60k service in October 2014, i now have to pay for my tires that were never aligned to begin with. If I had known this, I would of done the 60k service and been done with it. But again no communication. So free tires for life? I don't think so! read more

Akenba was my salesman and I couldn't be more happy with how he was willing to work with me. When I needed time he was patient and worked hard to show me all and any of the vehicles I wanted to look at. He also had the urgency to move the process along fats enough thats I wasn't there forever, without feeling rushed. They were willing to work me on the price in order to get me into a truck that I was comfortable driving and paying for. Bought a used truck a few months back from this dealership. After test driving it I told them that the brakes seemed funny and the salesperson told me that the truck had been sitting for a few weeks and it was probably was that. I hesitated and then the salesperson said he would check with the service department. A few minutes later he tells me that the brakes, rotors and pads were replaced when the truck came in. It had been a few months and the brake light sensor came on. Thought that they might have forgot to test the monitor properly so I took it in to be checked. Was told that the rear brakes, rotors and pads needed to be replaced to which I said, "You told me the brakes had been replaced" They asked the salesperson about it and he said that he remembers having a conversation about the brakes but can't recall what the conversation was about" I do recall the conversation and now the dealership will not replace the brakes. I purchased a used vehicle from the GM location. I did my homework and knew what I wanted so there was no "selling" me on the car. There was no warm greeting, the sales person was not very welcoming. after the test drive my first question was "what is the next step?". given this was the first BIG purchase i have every made(which i made known), i expected a different approach. Later after "negotiations" i was mocked because i was not prepared to put down cash to hold the vehicle. salesman, "you'd be surprised how many people come in to test drive a car and don't think they are going to do more than that." it was his tone that surprised me. I did still want this car, so i made the arrangements with my financier and sold my car the next day and put down cash to hold the car. I had questions with the whole process, i tried contacting my sales person turns out i grabbed the incorrect card that was on HIS desk. every time i tried to call i was directed and transferred 3+ times just to leave a message that was not returned. fast forward, the car was purchased. I was told the car would have my insurance cards, a full tank of gas, and be cleaned up/ready to go. I picked up the vehicle a few days later. at pick up, my sales person was absent. it took about 20 minutes for someone to get the keys, just to find out 15 minutes later, they weren't the right keys. another 10 minutes pass by and we get the correct keys and drive away. i start to drive away, acclimating myself to the vehicle 15 minutes later on the highway, it turns out there was LESS than a 1/4 tank of gas left in the vehicle. This annoyed me mainly because i was promised a full tank of gas. second, In the light of the setting sun you could see massive streaks across the windshield and all glass in the vehicle. i guess they use dirty wet rags to clean their windows. finally when I arrived home, our insurance cards were not in the vehicle. I know my insurance company had faxed them over b/c they wouldn't be able to register the car w/o insurance. all of this was unsatisfactory, but at the end of the day i got the car i really wanted at a very good price. i couldn't let it go how the service was, i work in customer service and i know how to treat a customer. i wasn't looking for anything in return i just wanted to share my poor experience. i decided to give them a call and asked to speak to the sales manager. the person asked if he could help, i gave him my 2 cents in a very professional manner then i was transferred to the manager. he was not present, i left a voicemail asking him to politely call me back. that was over a week ago and i still have yet to hear any response from Mastria GM. I am happy with my car, very unhappy with the service i received. I am not sure if it's because I am young, or if i seemed like i was asking too much but if it was not for the specific vehicle, i would have walked out when i walked in. read more

3 mths.ago my son's Cadillac was recalled. He brought it to Mastria Cadillac on rt.44. They took care of the problem but said the engine needed additional work that would cost over $700.00. He paid for it to be fixed. When he picked it up they said the engine was great . Now 3 mths later the car breaks down and they tell us the engine is gone and it would cost at least 5 thousand dollars to fix. They don't want to help us by standing behind there work. Worst dealership ever, 8 months ago I purchased a 2008 Cadillac Escalade, nothing but problems sense, I drove it to Florida and while there had some problems with the A/C so took it to dealer In Delray Beach only to find out that the rear shocks were bad, engine mount broken,and a few more things, total cost to repair is 3600.00. Just purchased a 2013 GMC Terrain: This is my second vehicle purchased from Mastria, the last time was a good experience so we went back. I originally went here because my family has been buying cars from Mastria for generations... This time things did not start out to well, and prompted some negative emails from my end - once received and issues were realized by managment, the entire experience changed to something great. Immedietly resolved any issues or worries I may have had and the team of Finance Manager, Sales Manager and salesman did everything they could to assure the rest went off without a hitch; restoring my faith in this dealership group. Tried bringing my 2017 GMC sierra in for service. Truck was making a lot of banging and clunking in the rear axle or suspension area. Went for a ride with James service writer told me noises were all common in that truck said something about plungers in the transmission. Noise was not coming from transmission I told him all of the noises were coming from the rear end. He told me everything was fine so I left. Truck only had 10,000 miles on it. At 13,000 miles I brought it back same noises just louder. Talk to James on the phone he said with that mileage it should be fine. I brought it in so I service writer named Virgil he said there was something wrong with my truck making a lot of noises that it shouldn't of been making. I thought OK great I'll bring it in made an appointment. Had it set up so I could drop it off at night and they would give me a rental. Went in for my appointment they told me they don't have no rental for me. The rental they had had too many miles on it so they could not give it to me. Seems to me like this dealership does not want to repair the truck that I bought from them! Plus because I knew the noise was not supposed to be there I have a case with General Motors! Does not look like Mastria service really cares!!!!!! Would never buy a vehicle from this place. Went their a month ago with my wife and son took a test ride in a gmc sierra z71 loved the truck. They did not have white in stock but were coming in shorty. Waited a month never received a call went by and seen exact truck that i was waiting for with a sold tag. Sale's person Mario Ferreira never said sorry or anything to me. Then gives me a price on other ones coming in 5000 grand more and expects me to wait. Sorry but no thanks read more

Worst dealer ever. Car light came on 1 hour after I purchased, they then had my vehicle for over a week - claimed it was fixed and then 48 hours later, another light came on. This went on three other occasions. The full scope of the issue was met with hostility and lack of professionalism. I would highly discourage any individual who is contemplating getting a vehicle to look elsewhere for a reputable dealer. read more
