We've had Vic out a couple of times now. The first time (2019?), the cable was sticking and disengaging. He greased it and tightened some stuff. He warned that we'd probably need a new cable next time. Seven years later, the cable finally broke. Both times he came out within 24 hrs. This time he came an hour after I called! He said he could replace the cable and some of the related motor stuff, or we could get a complete new door. We opted for the new door with new sensors, motor, wall control, clickers, outside access panel, everything. He ordered the door and was back in a week and had everything done in about 4 hrs. We got a LiftMaster which was our old system--the old one was 24 yrs old. Vic was on time, efficient and pleasant. One thing to note for people who replace their opener, the new ones don't work with old cars (if you have Home Link, or similar, to open your garage from the car). We recommended him to our neighbor a couple of years ago and she was really pleased with his work, too. read more

I had a great experience with Vic replacing an old garage door opener. He has been in the business for a long time and will be around in the future. He was fast, neat, and explained everything that I needed to know. I would use him again in the future. I had a brand new Liftmaster installed. read more

We had an outstanding experience with Vic from Silicon Valley Overhead Doors. He installed our new garage door and a new garage door motor, and we couldn't be happier with the results. From the beginning, it was clear that Vic is highly experienced, professional and easy to work with. He recommended the best door style and color to complement our home and we are so glad we followed his recommendations. The entire installation went smoothly, and the quality of the work, the door and the motor is excellent. Our new garage door looks beautiful, and the new motor operates incredibly smoothly and is so quiet that you can barely hear it running - in contrast to our old door that was so noisy! The work was done very efficiently and he even managed to install the motor in a very narrow space. Once they were done they even cleaned the space. If you're looking for someone who is skilled, reliable, pleasant to work with and truly cares about doing the job right, we highly recommend Vic and Silicon Valley Overhead Doors. We are extremely happy with the service and our new garage door! read more

Vic is an absolute lifesaver! We've worked with him twice over the past few years for unrelated garage door issues, and he has come to our rescue every single time. We are so grateful to have a reliable pro like Vic around and would highly recommend him to anyone! read more

I have been using Vic for about 25 years. He is very good at what he does and won't sell you services you don't need. He can come out quickly if you are experiencing an emergency situation and is very reasonable with his pricing. Highly recommend! read more

No wonder his high rating. He came out to diagnose a bent door that functioned OK. He said, don't worry, just keep lubricating. AND NO CHARGE. That's rare and wonderful. Thanks read more

Based on a recommendation from a neighbor, I called at 8am the day after Christmas and Vic picked up right away. He was at a job already but promised to come over within 1-2 hrs. He texted me an hour later to say he was on his way. Everything was super easy. Vic gave a fair estimate and I decided to go forward. He replaced 2 torsion springs and lubricated them well. He was friendly, efficient, and did a great job. read more

If you value honesty, professionalism, quality work, fair pricing, topped off with kindness... Vic at Silicon Valley Overhead Doors is your guy! I contacted him to check out a very noisy and rickety sounding garage door. He came out and lubricated everything and it "sounded" better, but Vic explained to me that the doors were very old and I might want to think about replacement in the near future. There was no hard selling or anything like that at all, which I very much appreciated. I asked him to send me a quote, which he did that evening. He also did not charge me for the visit!! --- who does that these days?? Well Vic did!! After reviewing the quote I contacted him to replace all three garage doors. He did a great job, at a fair price, and I am very happy with my doors and new openers. Vic also went waaaay above and beyond to help me out when he noticed an 8 foot fluorescent light fixture hanging from the garage ceiling on one end by the wiring, and fixed it for me!! So very grateful for everything he did and would highly recommend him if you need any kind of garage door service!! read more

Vic is very knowledgeable and his experience shows. Two Yelp recommended companies sent inexperienced guys who just tried to push expensive parts replacement, when really what was needed was lubrication and realignment and adjusting some poorly installed components. Would have spent hundreds or even thousands more if I listened to the other guys. Vic got everything working smoothly for only a reasonable service call fee. read more

Great service from Vic! Very responsive with quick service. I have used him a couple of times to repair my old garage door and after the last repair we decided to go for a new door. Within a week he installed the new door and motor. I have recommended him to my fellow neighbors about his great service. read more

I highly recommend Vic at Silicon Valley Overhead Doors. Vic did an awesome job installing a new Liftmaster door opener in my garage. He has 26 years experience and is definitely a craftsman in his trade. He installed a belt opener whereas one of the franchise brand companies gave me an estimate for a chain opener, which would be louder and require more frequent maintenance. Vic watches out for the customers and provides great workmanship. read more

Highly recommend Silicon Valley Overhead Doors. A few weeks ago, we heard a big "crack". The garage door still worked, but we saw that the coil had snapped in two. We called and someone came out the next day. The coil was fixed and we also replaced the ripped insulation/rubber at the bottom of the garage door that keeps out the rodents and debris. Service was prompt, efficient, and reasonably priced. And unlike some other service providers, they don't ask you to post a review for them, which I find annoying. If I loved someone's service, I will post a great review! read more

Highly recommend Silicon Valley Overhead Doors. Here's my story: I called a different service to take a look at my broken garage door. The guy who came out did a whole song and dance -- making frowning faces and sighing, giving vague explanations about what was wrong with it, calling his manager to talk it over -- and he said the whole door would have to be replaced for $2500. Worse still, all his banging around as he examined the garage door made it even worse! I was shocked, and I wanted a second opinion. So I called Vic at Silicon Valley Overhead Doors. Vic gave the door a quick look over, explained exactly what was wrong with it in clear terms, and told me he could fix it same day for $180. For the second time that day I was shocked! From $2500 to $180 -- I was so glad I didn't settle for the first guy's quote. Vic got to work and it was fixed minutes later. It's been a few weeks now and the door has remained good as new. read more

Mainspring on garage door snapped late in the day. Vic came out the next day (a Saturday) and had it fixed within an hour for what I felt was a reasonable price. Go to his website to get his phone number. Listing here is incorrect. read more

We had an excellent experience with Vic when we decided to replace our garage door. Call or text him, he responds immediately. This helped gain my trust with his services. Lately in the bay area, if you call a professional their response most likely will be "I am very busy", if they even respond to your phone call. Not with Vic, even though he is busy. My wife wanted a metal garage door that has a wood texture. He went out of his way to find us some sample swatches. He contacted a number of manufactures and came out with a solution that both my wife and I liked. Our door was ready to be installed way ahead of the date he promised. The installation was quick and professional. I am a very picky guy by nature. Vic did exceptional work. Thank you Vic and I highly recommend your services. read more

I had a fantastic experience with SV overhead doors. I called them for a broken door spring around 11am and he was at the house by 1 and the door was fixed by 1:30. Super quick, awesome help, and great value. All in all, I will definitely call them again if I need help with garage doors. read more

I highly recommend Vic at Silicon Valley Overhead Doors. Someone tried to break into my garage on Sunday. Vic replaced my springs a few years ago. Unfortunately, the break in happened on a Sunday and Vic wasn't working. I ended up with someone who over charged me to replace the rollers and labor. He tried to tell me I needed new springs. Long story short, you can trust Vic to get the job done right and beware of BAY AREA GARAGE DOOR SERVICES REPAIRS. Hang up the phone if they call you to send someone out. read more

Vic is the best! I called at 7 pm because our garage door was not closing. He texted me back in 10 mins with advice on how to deal with it for the night and then came first thing at 7:30 am next day and fixed it right away. Perfect communication. Great expertise. Highly recommend Silicon Valley overhead doors. I had Vic come over and assess my creaky cheap garage door and he was able to quote me a much better door at a reasonable price. He then brought the new door over to the house (on time), replaced the old door , took the old door away and was done in less than 4 hours. And he worked all by himself! Great job! P.s. the door is now a year old and still working great!! read more

Vic installed our new garage door and motor more than 5 years ago. We particularly love the Lift Master motor, which includes an app that lets me use my phone to open/close the garage door from anywhere. I use this feature all the time. I've been hearing a clicking sound when the door goes down, so yesterday I called Vic to come look at it. He responded immediately, scheduled a time today (less than 24 hours from my initial contact), and showed up on time. He took a look at the door and motor, said that everything was in great shape, and gave me some maintenance tips...no charge. No charge?! Really?!! That's amazing customer service, honesty, and integrity. I'd strongly recommend Vic to anyone who needs a new door, motor, or service. read more

5 stars, he doesn't need another 5 star review, but I actually look back at my own reviews for who I used last time to get some work done, and I saw I had never left a review for Vic for him replacing my garage door opener ... May 2020, early in covid, when everyone was freaked out about everything. Anyway. 5 stars back then for being easy to work to get this done. My springs were messed up, so i couldn't get my car out of the garage, and he took care of all that. Anyway, I'm going to have him come out again, just for a routine check to make sure everything is still kosher, and I expect it to go fine ... Vic is a great guy. read more

Vic came right out to look at my broken garage door, and was able to diagnose the issue in a few minutes (and told me my husband should probably not be installing garage doors, hahaha). Unfortunately the part was not readily available so I had to use another business but if Vic was able to fix the garage sooner I would have gone with him immediately. He didn't charge me for coming out to look at the garage and I was most grateful for his ethical and honest way of doing business. When I let him know I went with another business as I needed the repair sooner, he was most gracious and understanding. (Interacting with Vic to me, felt like having my uncle or grandpa helping me.. :) I will return to this bookmarked page for any future garage door issues and would've given Vic more starts if Yelp let me! read more

Silicon Valley Overheard Doors replaced my broken garage door torsion spring which prevented my garage door from opening. Beyond a 5 Star Service!!!! Called Vic at 10:30am with an intermittent problem with the garage door, he was here within the hour, knew exactly what was wrong right away and issue was resolved before lunch. I called and talked to Vic, explained that the garage door comes down hard, and also seemed like springs are a noisy. He said he would come by right away to take a look at. He arrived within 10 minutes. He looked at springs, and explained just need to spray with garage door lubricant. He lifted the door and said to check for balance and said it was fine. Vic made an adjustment on the garage door opener and after a few attempts, the door would close quietly! He spent the time to explain things to me and what could happen in future. All in all probably spent around 30 minutes with me, and when he was done, I asked him how much for the time. He said no charge. I was surprised and asked if he was sure? Vic said yes, no charge. I really appreciated his skill and knowledge to assist me. I figured that I would have paid him for his time to come out and check and make adjustments, but Vic was very kind and said it was his pleasure. He is dedicated to helping us, his customer, and I feel he would be very fair in his work. He is very knowledgeable, and I would highly recommend and would definitely contact his again in the future. Anyone that needs garage door, and opener, and springs I would definitely say to call Vic. read more

Vic is economical with words, but delivers quality work and most importantly he is on time! He fixed my broken springs and tensioners a couple of years ago. He diagnosed the issue (last guy used wrong spring size) and set the right expectations on when he would get the right parts and rectify the situation. Recently, I thought something was in need of service and I automatically texted Vic. He came by the next day and showed me how to properly lube the door. Problem solved, no charge. I referred my neighbor to him who had a noisy grinding sound coming from his opener. That neighbor came by to tell me how Vic did a great job. read more

Impressed by Owner,Vic's knowledge, expertise, promptness, professionalism. I didn't bother to get other price estimates since I felt confident of his knowledge, experience, honesty & not settle for incompetence/future problems. Instead of repairing broken door spring, broken remote control, I decided it was time to replace my ugly 40 yo garage door, obsolete loud chain opener/broken remote control with Entire new package to update to safety code, current tech wifi features w keypad, increase house value curb appeal etc. Vic was punctual, neat & cleaned up - did all his work himself & straight through until completed in 1/2 day - Old School hard work ethic. (I avoided idle chat so he could focus efficiently without annoying interruptions). Vic patiently explained how to use all new features/oil maintenance. Love my beautiful new door with bright sunny windows, battery backup for power outages, 1 year guarantee - Thank you,Vic! Highly recommend!!! read more
