We initially got an estimate for a new garage door from Larry McDonald and Vi came out to install it on December 13, 2024. Subsequently we were having some trouble several mos. later with the door closing both with the unit on the wall in the garage and with the two remote units we kept in our cars. We called and Larry came out and serviced both the open/close units and installed a tighter fitting strip at the bottom of the door. He also re-installed the window trim so the brown side was on the outside of the door and it looks much better now! I had no idea it should have been that way to begin with!! Chris and Mike are amazing, Friday night around 11 PM we started to hear a weird buzzing and realized it was our very old garage opener, it was buzzing and the garage door kept opening. We unplugged itand the ONLY company we contacted was Real Garage Doors based on all the reviews. We contacted Mike around 8:10 on Saturday and got a reply within 15 minutes with a menu of options for openers and we set up time for Sunday. Chris came on time and got right to work, very impressed by the communication and clear expertise with installation, he was a bad ass doing all the work alone! He went the extra mile by routing the cables very cleanly and neatly for the safety sensors and wall mounted opener. He also did general maintenance on our tracks and door to keep it running nice and quiet. The ONLY thing we wish was more options for the ceiling mount, the brackets work fine but we would have been OK with paying a little more to get some of the other ceiling mounts that look a little nicer. I reached out to a few businesses on Yelp and Real Garage Doors were the most responsive and most professional. Unlike other businesses who weren't interested in giving me a quote without coming to my residence next morning, Mike from Real Garage Doors answered my questions and based on the picture that I sent him and gave me two options and a reasonable quote. Soon after, I responded back to the other businesses canceling my appointment and my Yelp inbox was flooded with quotes from these other businesses, because they claimed they no longer needed to come home to make the "inspection". When I politely declined their quotes, a few of them demanded to know why I wouldn't go with them and even wanted to beat the price that was offered.
