Garage door cable snapped in late afternoon, door pushed to one side, damaging the rail and we needed it fixed! Called a few places and only Aaron Overhead was able to come. They arrived and stayed late in the evening (after 10pm) to replace cables and get the door working again all while the cars were inside. There is a min callout fee but was worth it. Kept me informed throughout and was very friendly. The garage door works better than before so was a quality fix. read more

Incredible service. Answers the phone quickly and makes me look great to my clients when they ask for help with a garage door or an opener. After weeks of my personal garage door suddenly not working with the My Q app and over an hour and a half trouble shooting, buying a new My Q system and even a new garage door opener and resetting and reloading I was having the same problem where the garage door would not shut from the car nor from the new remote or the My Q app. Frustrated, I called Larry and he said, try changing out or taking out the light bulbs. Sometimes they mess with the frequency. I had recently put a new bulb in and forgot about it. YES!!! That was it! Free and easy! I was ready to buy a new garage door opener... that would have been $1200 but instead, FREE! Excellent! read more

Great experience here. This company (I guess they are GDI now?) was the first to schedule an appointment with me when my garage door broke. They came out same day. The night before over the phone, a different company (based on a photo I sent them) concluded my garage door was not repairable and I needed a new garage door. Thankfully, Seth from GDI was the first to come out in person to take a look. He was very polite and immediately helpful. He took one look and knew how to fix it, took 20 minutes. 2 stars for answering the phone extremely promptly on a weekend. They were supposed to get a guy out later on a Sunday. First off, that's cool! Working on a Sunday afternoon, and it didn't see like there would be an after hours premium. I phone a few hours later to make sure they are still coming... I am still the next person in line and I'll be getting a call soon. I did, and they said the previous job wasn't going as planned and they could be out fist thing Monday. That kind of sucked! But I get it, things pop up. I mention that I have a few other Yelp quotes that I can go with and I do t want to waste his time to come out. He said that their price would be cheaper than the ones I've seen so far. So I obliged. The tech arrives Monday, on time, but without the promised call ahead. He looked at the door and said it would take an hour and a half and could cost 2x what every other quote I got was, and well over what was promised on the phone. I said no and he left. I called them back to see what happened, and all they could do was send another tech to verify the quote. I passed. I found another company to do the work. They got my business and 5 stars. They were prompt, their price was as expected and they finished in just over 30 minutes. read more

We couldn't have been happier with our experiences with Aaron's. We ordered openers from Home Depot and the installation was contracted to Aaron's. It turned out I mismeasured the doors and the openers I ordered weren't substantial enough to work with our doors. Aaron's returned the openers to HD for us, and then we ordered new openers directly through them. Preston come out for the installation and did a great job with one of the doors. He discovered the spring had broken on the other door. Within 2 days they had manufactured a new spring and Preston installed it right away. He was knowledgeable and helpful, and he was easy to talk to and work with. We always want to support small, local businesses because of their customer service. I have used this place in the past. The first time it took two days and four calls to get someone out. The owner said he would make it up to me in the bill and then charged me the full price. I like to use local small business whenever I can so in a fit of stupidity I called yesterday morning and they said the tech would be here between 8 am and noon today. I sat for over 4 hours without as little as a phone call. I called and the lady said she would have to reach out to the tech and call me "right back". NO CALL! I called again and she said she would have to reach out to the tech and call me back. When she called she this time said the tech was very busy and would have to reschedule. I saved her the trouble and cancelled the appointment. I can't believe I went through the same thing with them twice! It definitely will not happen again and I hope this prevents anyone else from using this company. I have to give them credit for consistent service-very very bad but sure consistent. Very professional work & the door they installed feels solid. I first called them to schedule an appointment. The installer, Paul, came out to first do an estimate & measurement. Explained the expenses & warranty well. It was cheaper than 4 other vendors I called. I had to call again to schedule the actual install (probably backed up over the Jul 4th weekend). Paul came again to do the install & haul away of the old door. Everything looks solid & the wires are professionally squared away. Explained the operations to me & cleaned up well afterwards. John Mathews and his helper, Manny, from Aaron Overhead Doors installed a new garage door, all the necessary railings, and a side mounted opener with wi-fi control for me. They also took the old door away. I was extremely happy with their service and the final result. They were on time, courteous, and knowledgeable. I bought my garage door from Home Depot which included installation, so they were sent over by Home Depot, so I didn't have choice in picking the installer. We needed a new garage door and motor, I thought. Didn't know who to call. My friend recommended Aaron Overhead Door - so glad she did!! They were fast, professional, and reasonably priced. Larry came out the same day to do the quote and it turns out we needed a new motor, bracket, and safety sensors, but thw door itself is fine! Saved a bunch of money. He could have told me we needed a new door - I didn't know - but he was honest and told me the door was fine. Because we didn't need the door and he had the motor in stock, he was able to schedule work for the next day. Larry called in the morning to give me an approximate time they'd be to me in the afternoon. Then, Joe, the service tech, called me later in the afternoon to let me know he would be about 30 minutes late. No problem. He arrived and had the work done in about an hour. The motor is so much quieter, the lights are super bright, and it runs great! Joe was careful with the items we have in the garage, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend these guys to anyone needing garage door maintenance, repair, or replacement! read more

Asked for garage door spring repair. Estimate was high but when I mentioned that Allen said he will beat it just need to send technician. I was skeptical and clearly said it will be waste of time but he insisted. So technician came, lectured me on how door should be maintained but didn't measure spring, didn't weight the door and just provided original estimate. I guess bait-n-switch didn't work on me. Otherwise everything was nice, clean and professional. So if you don't mind paying for dispatcher, technician and management overhead this company may be a good choice. read more

I called in the morning. They came the same day. John was the technician, he was the nicest person you would ever want in a technician, polite, wore his mask and he seemed very honest. He told us what problem was and fixed it. He had a long drive back to Monterey County, but stayed with us to patiently explain what the problem was. He said while he was there he would lubricate the moving parts of our garage door. I plan to keep this company's phone number and use them again? I would highly recommend this company! read more

This company is top notch. I found them to be quick in response times, knowledgeable, and honest. Larry is super friendly, efficient, and great at returning calls and staying on top of things. When they sent a person out to take a look at my broken garage door - I was still on my way home to meet them - and by the time I got there 15 minutes later the door was working. The permanent fix would be to replace the lower panel - not the entire garage door. So the fix was $600 instead of $2500+. They didn't try to upsell me. I'm so appreciative of their honesty. And the job was completed 24 hours later! I had another company (El Gato Garage Door in Los Gatos) send out a guy who spent 20 minutes looking at my broken garage door, made it work 20% better and charged me $45 for the service call. Unfortunately, the service guy came out and squirted some lube on my door, said it was fine and charged $147.00. It was still making an odd noise. The next day it didn't close. Aaron Overhead Door was friendly and quick to respond to my request for a consultation. That being said I gave them an extra star. I was disappointed though with their integrity. I was told by Aaron Overhead Door that i'd need to replace the whole door and motor due to a dent I made at the lower section of my garage door. I went to Halcyon Overhead Door and they were easily able to repair the dent, get my garage door back on its tracks and only cost me $165. It also only took 30 minutes for them to repair it, obviously an easy fix. This is why I give only 2 stars for Aaron Overhead Door. I am unsure whether Aaron Overhead Door wasn't thorough with their assessment or if they were trying to upcharge me. Either way I would hope that a professional would be trustworthy. read more

A few minutes later, Larry called and said he would get someone out in a couple hours. About 5 minutes later, he called and said the fellow was on his way. Damien arrived about 15 minutes later and immediately knew what to do. He asked me to cover my cars where damage might occur, then went to work. I had a broken tensioning spring on my rolling panel garage door. Since I knew what was wrong, Paul gave me a quote over the phone. Other companies said they couldn't quote until they saw the job for which they need to send a service tech over for a $XX fee, half of which will be applied to the eventual repair. I had called this other company first and made an appointment. But when Paul called me back, told me the quote over the phone, I switched and decided to take my service to Aaron Overhead door. (I called the other company back and canceled!) Paul confirmed the quoted amount when he came over and spoke to me and estimated how much time it would take. The repair to both tensioning springs was done on time. In addition, Paul gave me helpful tips on preventive maintenance. Not once did I have the impression that Paul was going to (or even wanted to) sell me something I didn't want or need. He repaired according to my needs! This really builds one's trust in a business relationship. I added a remote control device for a reasonable amount and he installed and explained the operation. If you're looking to get professional work done, this is DEFINITELY not the company. My experience is from earlier this afternoon. The company had done across the street and I went to get a card from him for future reference. Anyway, ended up discussing issues with the door and Larry Conte (the owner) came over to have a look. He said that one of the rails was loose and needs to replaced and putting the anti-collision sensors back on. So we agreed on a price and he said his person would be here in the next hour or so. So this person, Brandon shows up in the next half hour and the first words out of his mouth are "I have to be done in 15 minutes" and was obviously in a great hurry to pick up daughter from school in Salinas. He replaces the rail, puts the sensors back on but with the wire hanging between the entrance and the unit. When we asked him to staple it to the beam so that it won't get caught in the overheads, he said "he's done this for 20 years and he has never stapled it", "I've run out of staples", etc. So we offered that he come next week to do it but instead he flew into a rage and UNDID all the work he had done and took off. Later we found that in the process of his undoing, the garage door wouldn't close! So we called Larry and asked him to fix it ... but he kept giving excuses as to why he couldn't come, etc. and the earliest he could fix it was Tuesday. Meanwhile, he suggested that we operate the door manually. So we asked Larry to call some other company so that it would get fixed. Larry said that he would do it if we paid him the agreed price AND if that company would charge within the above agreed price. So for no new parts or getting anything fixed (remember Brandon had uninstalled the parts earlier), we would be paying Aaron Overhead Door. From this episode, I have learnt that never ever engage a tradesman who is in the neighborhood who is looking to make a quick extra buck and never ever engage a tradesman on a Friday afternoon, especially before the holidays. In summary, Aaron Overhead, it's owner and sub-contractor (Brandon from Salinas) is team that is totally unprofessional (won't even correct their own mistake) and out to make a quick buck. They don't stand by their word (so you may be out of luck on warranty repair, etc.). SO watch out! read more

The technician tried to sell me a new garage door and could not repair. I called another company and they were able to do adjustments on my old heavy garage door and make it work in half an hour.
