Sensor moved to the right of the railing

MC Garage Doors was fantastic to work with. These guys are top notch and honest. I called and they immediately responded and came to my home when I had an issue. Someone /something had knocked over the sensor and I couldn't fit it myself even with guidance on the phone from MC. Within 1.5 hours (at 9:30pm even on a Wednesday) they were here and fixed it in no time. I am appreciative of service like this and would recommend them to anyone for all your garage door needs.

Their expertise and quality of work truly speak for themselves. They fixed a garage door that kept tearing up the weatherstripping and diagnosed the problem quickly. On top of that, they explained everything clearly and made sure I understood what was going on. I'm very happy with how my garage door turned out -- it now works exactly as it should. The pricing was also very reasonable for the amount and quality of work done. Highly recommend.

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars…read more I recently used KJ's Garage Door Repair after a recommendation from my neighbor, and overall, I'm very happy with the results. The process started off strong. I used their automated system and got a callback almost immediately for a same-day appointment. The tech, Dru, texted me an ETA and arrived right on time. He diagnosed the issue instantly, explaining that my builder-grade door was lucky to have lasted this long with just a single spring. Since my spring had shattered and the wires had snapped, the door was completely stuck. Dru charged me a small fee to manually get the door open just so I could get my car out, which was a huge lifesaver. He was friendly, efficient, and clearly knew his stuff. The same day, my main point of contact, Marko, came by to take measurements and provide a quote. Because my door had a specific "short panel window with long panel ridges" style, it required a custom order. He estimated about 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. I knocked off half a star because the communication during that waiting period was frustrating. My door was completely non-functional for those 6 weeks, and I felt like I was the one constantly reaching out for updates. I called at the end of week 3 and week 4, and while Marko was very nice over the phone, he didn't follow up when he said he would. It wasn't until the end of week 6 that he reached out via email to confirm the door was finally arriving. Once we got to the finish line, the email communication became much more consistent. On installation day, there was a brief scare when the installer called saying the distributor had sent the wrong panels. After waiting 6 weeks with a broken door, that was disappointing to hear, especially since the layout of my home makes not having garage access a major pain. Fortunately, he called back an hour later--the package had just been labeled incorrectly and the parts were correct. The installers arrived early and were joined by a second tech halfway through. They finished the whole job in about 3 hours. They were great about setting up my remotes and the opener, and they walked me through how to program the keypad. They did their best to tidy up, though I did find a few stray rusted nails and brackets they missed. Bottom line: The pricing is reasonable, and the servicemen are professional and highly efficient. If the proactive communication during the waiting period was a little tighter, this would easily be a 5-star review.

I requested service for a broken garage door spring, assuming it was a standard item. Matt arrived…read morepromptly at the time I booked. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and he was surprised to see my garage door and spring was not standard. He promised to get me a quote that day, and when the supplier didn't get back to him in time, he called to check in and let me know he was still working on it. The next day Matt escalated the job to Ammar, who brought a variety of rarely-needed springs to the service call and he was able to complete the job. He explained exactly what it was about my door that was so unusual (the previous owner had installed an exceptionally heavy door for such a narrow space) and made me feel completely satisfied that I really did require the heavier spring. Here's the best part: after he replaced the broken spring, he noted that the rollers were getting pretty worn and that the existing garage door motor was not optimal for such a heavy door, but instead of trying to pressure me into roller replacements or a new motor, he told me how to keep the rollers lubricated to prolong their life as much as possible and said there was no problem to keep using the current motor but just to be aware it probably wouldn't last as long as we might expect. Bottom line: these guys are honest, knowledgeable, dependable, and they're not going to give you a hard sell. Because of all that, I will definitely call them again when I need garage door work again.

Thank you Nelson and Sousa's garage doors!

Sousa's was recommended to me by a family member who's friend had had a good experience with them…read morefor a whole garage door replacement. I needed a much more modest service which was to replace our existing, shockingly loud garage door operator for our two-car-wide garage door. It was loud enough to wake up the deepest of sleepers, should, heaven forbid, someone need to open the garage while someone is sleeping in the room above. To make a long story short, they did a great job. Quoted me a price over the phone for overhead belt drive (I think $1000 all in), and another for wall mount ($1100 all in). (Regarding pricing: given all the little details one needs to get right and the relatively high cost of parts ($500 for wall mount opener) I considered this pricing a bargain as it would've taken me hours to set up everything just right.) Anyway, they said that both openers would be much quieter than the existing one. I didn't want to take any chances and went with the wall mount. Which also freed up considerable access room to our over-car storage in the garage. Scheduled the work for maybe a few business days into the future, and did an orderly, perfect looking installation. We did notice that over the first couple weeks the garage door would detect an obstruction or resistance on opening or closing so we called them and they didn't even slightly argue - they just sent a senior tech over to adjust it. And now it's been perfect for months. And it is unbelievably quiet, as in you'll need to train your brain to recognize the sound of it opening or closing compared to the other random sounds you might hear from the street.
